Business traveller's opinion here. Wifi is non existent and no desk in room. You'll have to work from the bed. Im in trouble for my early morning meeting. Location is good for local restaurants. Overpriced for what you get in terms of in room. Effectively a motel. The cable modem is hanging over the TV in my room. Looks like a rush job. I get what they're going for here but it could have been executed better. I just really need a reliable wifi connection so I can work. At over 200 per night I was expecting more.

Great, clean, and cute little hotel in central Santa Barbara. Walking distance to many restaurants and the waterfront. We brought our bikes and rode around the area down shoreline Dr too. Rooms aren't huge, but they are well decorated, clean, and have everything you need. Would definitely stay here again!

I hate posting negative reviews, but I would not recommend staying at this hotel. Not only do they falsely advertise available rooms and amenities, but they go radio silent the second there is an issue with your stay. My family and I stayed at the Haley Inn on July 28-29, attracted by its excellent location and charming ambiance. However, our stay was far from pleasant. We had chosen the hotel primarily because we were promised a room with two beds to accommodate our family. To our dismay, upon arrival, we were given a room with only one bed. This put us in an uncomfortable and cramped situation, far from the relaxation we had anticipated after a long day of travel. We arrived late and were told there were no other rooms available. But the biggest letdown of our stay was the malfunctioning air conditioning in our room. Despite our efforts to notify the front desk, it appeared to be a known and recurring issue. The only remedy provided was two small desk fans, which were far from sufficient, especially given the exorbitant room rate of $350, not to mention the additional pet fee, resulting in a total cost exceeding $450 per night. When you're staying during the peak of summer, a functioning AC should be a given for a comfortable and enjoyable experience. We were forces to open our windows for the eveing in hopes it would cool down the room, and since our room was closest to the main street we were bombarded with the street noise and I attempted to contact management no less than 6 times before posting this review in hopes that they could acknowledge the issues and work towards a remedy for future guests. I was told that my messages we forwarded to management weeks ago, but still have not received a reply. This property has a lot of potential, but unfortunately they are not prioritizing their guests or customer service.

The rooms are nice, but small, and the service is good. The location is great if you're looking for a night out; otherwise it's very loud until after 2 am. There are a lot of clubs and bars in the area. It feels like a more upscale version of a motel. The outdoor space is probably the best feature of the hotel. There are fire pits and plenty of cozy seating.

The queen room I had didn't have working AC, which turned into a whole thing instead of a simple accommodation. I politely requested from the front desk a similar room with working AC, nothing more than what I had paid for. The gentleman at the desk said he would need to call his supervisor, which he did in front of me. I overheard the supervisor say "Tell them to open their window, otherwise they need to pay for an upgrade since there's no other queen beds available tonight." I asked to speak with her directly where she argued that they only had king beds with working AC available, and that would require paying for an upgrade. I explained that I was not going to pay more to get a working room. This went back and forth for a few minutes but the supervisor ultimately accommodated the request. The man working the desk showed me the other queen bed and we confirmed there was no working AC there as well. The rooms were nice but not all worked as advertised. In addition to maintenance issues, the management needs training on the service industry -- no guest should have to have a lengthy back and forth about how if the room you paid for doesn't work, the correct thing to do is accommodate the guest with the next best thing available. Very basic rule. This hotel's relatively cheap for the area, so I guess you get what you pay for. Really cool amenities on the property but when visiting again I'll pay more for reliability.

If you enjoy no sleep, this is the hotel for you. $300+ a night to listen to revelers and bass on State St till 3 am. Avoid room #6 at all costs and better yet, spend your money elsewhere. Although the common areas are nice, this place is not worth the money and the staff aren't helpful with issues.

I stayed at hotel for 9 nights on a work trip to Santa Barbara. The wifi did not work in my room the whole time and so had no where to work when needed. The walls are paper thin so you can hear anyone who walks past your room at night, plus you can hear the nightclub music blasting from the club across the street from Thursday night (the earplugs that they leave on your bedside table were a tell tale sign that I am not the only person to have suffered from lack of sleep). There was also nowhere to store luggage in room and no wardrobe for clothes. Not ideal for a long stay. I asked to check out half way through the stay and despite hotel not being full for the 2nd part of my trip, they would not allow it free of charge, but wanted to charge me for the full amount. I had to stay there despite there being much nicer options around for the same price. The hotel is fine if you need somewhere for one night as the location is great, but otherwise would not recommend for anything longer.

Place was nice and clean. Cool amenities and hang out areas. However, they nickel and dime you for everything. Continental breakfast had barely any options (I left with a banana and an orange). You have to pay for parking in a lot next to the hotel, $20, no valet service, even though you get charged for it. I got an early check in fee, $40, even though the room was ready, and I arrived at 3:30. The initial price for the pet deposit was $40. I got charged an additional $80 for the room and when I called, I was told this was due to the pet fee.

Had a wonderful stay. Staff was great. The place is very clean and cute and Fun (too many activities outside to list!). Bed was very comfy. Added bonus of being a wonderful location to park your car, and be wherever you'd like to be. Beach.. shopping.. dining.. A+. We will be back.

This place is great, the rooms are big and cozy and the tvs are big. The kind lady at reception even brought me a fork to my room when my delivery came without cutlery. I enjoyed my one night stay way more than the best western down the street. Highly recommend.

I came into town for a buddy’s bachelor party. I checked in on Friday afternoon around 3 and was welcomed by Andie at the front desk was professional and checked me in quickly. The hotel was in a great location, beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. Overall a great experience. I’d recommend it and will definitely be back again.

I was able to stay here with my teen daughter last November 2022. We were having a terrible year and this nautical retreat was JUST what we both needed! The moment we walked in the room, my daughter said, "I want to live here!" We LOVED the decor and esp. LOVED the natural hand wash, lotion, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner from a local Santa Barbara Company "The Grapeseed Company! They smelled and left our skin and hair feeling awesome. We enjoyed a free 2 hour bike ride to the beach bike path all the way past the SB Zoo and back. We like how close it was to downtown so we could just walk to the go shopping or out to eat. I hated to leave at the end of the week but feel blessed we had such a peaceful place to hang out at. I hope we can return again in the future. I used to live in Santa Barbara and miss it terribly.

More of a motel experience than hotel. The room was ok - had all basic amenities and fairly clean, location good. The 2 hour free bike service was a nice bonus. However, the service from staff was not great - cold and not friendly. Don't expect a smile and a friendly neighbourhood recommendation if you're staying here.

Great customer service! We utilized the beach cruiser bikes the first 2 hours free! The room was clean and perfect with a microwave mini fridge and super cute fireplace! We were nervous there would be a shared bathroom as advertised on Airbnb but we had our own private bath. Perfect location next to everything and a 10 minute walk to the train. We will be back!

My family had a great time both at the hotel and exploring Santa Barbara. We played ping-pong and chess and lounged together. It is a noisy area but ear plugs don’t work well for me. I wish I had thought to use a white noise app earlier in my evening. And my husband found all the pillows too puffy. We had a room with bunk beds and sectioned off space from the kids which allowed all of us just the right amount of privacy.

This hotel is a true gem right in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara! You couldn’t ask for a better location. It’s right off of the lively part of State Street, and it’s also within walking distance of the beach. We asked the front desk staff for restaurant recommendations and they were really helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is a great place to hang out. There is outdoor seating, games, fire table, fire pit and even a small dog park area. The decor is well thought out and fun. The beds and bedding are quite comfortable. We would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to returning.

Our stay at the Haley Hotel was incredibly pleasant. The layout was cute, especially the expansive outdoor common area. The room had everything we could’ve needed, including a refrigerator, microwave, electric kettle, coffee fixings, water, and snacks. I personally loved the nautical theme, and the cool LED fireplace display. Andie, at the front desk, was awesome, super chill, and very helpful. She also recommended excellent spots to check out nearby, which were all within walking distance. The hotel is right in the middle of everything downtown Santa Barbara has to offer. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

Haley Hotel has a great vibe! Super cute outdoor space with various areas to chill, visit with friends, play games, and more! Very nice staff. Our room was comfortable and clean, but it was a bit noisy at night. We will definitely be back, but will request a room further away from the street.

Quaint motel/hotel that is beautifully outfitted with lots of cozy spots to socialize. Rooms are small, but have all that you need. The location is it's biggest pro. It's biggest con is the lady running the front desk. She was rude and dismissive from the get-go. She definitely tainted our stay at the Haley. On the noise- we used our white noise machine and had no issues sleeping.

For the price that we paid, this hotel disappointing. We arrived a couple hours early, and while our room was ready, they gave us the option of paying the early check in fee or come back. The room was quite small, and we soon realized infested with ants. We tried to bring this up with the front desk, who simply referred us to the owner. They ultimately did nothing to help.

Cancellation policy is extremely strict. I tried to cancel my stay because there were earthquakes and flooding happening in Santa Barbara and all the roads were closed making it literal impossible to get to SB, but because I didn’t call 72 hours in advance they were unwilling to cancel. I recommend staying somewhere with a more reasonable policy since you cannot anticipate natural disasters or road closures.

Staff was nice and Room was clean. It was a motel type place right next to a a loud club and other loud noises all night and early in the morning. They also charge an extra pet fee not included in the rate. If you have a pet and no where else to stay affordable for one night maybe stay here. The location was ok but still a good walk to the beach or other attractions which you need to drive to anyway. Next time we stay in Santa Barbara we will find a nicer place and not be worried about driving a little further if necessary

What a fun place. Hip, modern rooms. The outside area is inviting- fire pits, lots of outside seating, outside games, bikes available, dog area... The hotel is close to SB nightlife-food, bars, shops, and coffee shops. No need to have your car leave the lot during your stay.

Really friendly staff! Great location! Cute aesthetic! Room was fairly expensive for what we got. We were in room 1 which was in the corner and WiFi was terrible.

Great location, great amenities! Stayed here for a work trip and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. Just what I needed in a cup of coffee and light snack in the morning. Super clean. Lots of activities to do with the family or your significant other on the large and expansive patio area.

Cute boutique hotel right on state st. They have comfy beds, clean, lots of amenities, bit no pool. Out door games, chess, checkers, swings, a fire pit. They do need to improve their European shower situation 🙄 like adding a panel as water goes everywhere. Not really practical. The first time we stayed here the fire alarms went off all night, which ended in the staff barging in and removing them from the ceilings. This time that did not happen. Update: no change in the shower situation, but they did install fireplaces in every room.
