You need a permit to do some of the hikes in this area. We get ours on the same day we went for a hike, check early in the morning for cancellations. Pretty sure that if you start early (we went at 9AM), no one will ask you for a permit anyway. Pretty bad way of handing out permits, since they are free and you don’t need to confirm, they are booked out for months (!) in advance, but only a fraction of people who sign up actually go. Typical Spanish inefficiency.

Unbelievably beautiful hike! Otherworldly! It took us about 2,5 hours and it was pretty easy to do. It can get slippery when it rains a lot, wear good shoes. When you get to the road, the path continues in the forest on your right.

There is enough parking spaces for everyone, as there is not that many people walking the trail. The booking for entrance in advance had to be done very fast as tickets were gone in a few minutes. But it was totally worth the hassle. As we started walking we were apporached by the park ranger and had to show our reservation. The forest truly is enchanting, the path is nicely marked, just make sure that you take the path on the right as your way there. The map avaliable on the website is very useful for navigation. At the end there is a bigger viewpoint with a wall you can sit on and rest in the shade with a wonderful view of the coast.

This is the best path I have ever seen πŸ–€ it’s just astonishing. The misty weather, the trees that were leaning one onto each other, the birds singing around, the entire atmosphere seemed like a fairy tale. ‼️ you can use this path only with a special permit which might be a bit tricky to get; totally worth it ❀️

Beautiful forest walk, especially when the weather is nice and sunny. Lots of viewpoints. We did the circular route of about 7 kms with our 6 year old son.

This place is amazing. Such a relaxed walk with much less tourist that you see on main "attractions", breathing the fresh air... to end up at places with spectacular views.

Beautiful place with wildlife and protected plants. Road up is also fun, very twisty, sometimes wet (you get to drive in the clouds). Reservation and permit system is nonsense, though. There was almost no one when we visited, and permits were gone for many months forward. We didn't go i to the forest, otherwise we could have been punished wit 600 € fine.

I went there because so many people hype this place up and it has good reviews. I went there with proper sneakers and warm clothes (it's around 10 degrees up there and it's windy). It took me around 1,5h to drive to there from Puerto de la Cruz. When we arrived there, we noticed that there were no signs of roads and how long they were or what possibilities do you have. Roads were extremely slippery and muddy. If you do not have professional hiking clothes and equipment, don't go. Roads were clearly not cleaned (like majority of the hiking roads in Tenerife are) and there are no signs where to go or if you are even on the right path. At one point of the time, you had 3 choices where to go. You have no idea which path to take or how long they are. There are no signs that you are even following the right road. It was clear that this forest suffered some major storm hours before. Eventually after almost 2h of walking middle of nowhere (you don't have internet connection so you can't even google your location), we ended up in the lookup place. There we finally saw the first sign to "return" place. After walking for 3,5km while surviving MAJOR mud and slipper road, we randomly ended up in the middle of the driving road (not the original place where we were supposed to end up like in 99% of Tenerife's hiking roads are made like a loop). We had to walk another 1,5km up the road (while walking on the driving road) back to our car. There were literally no maps on the road (to even understand where you are) nor any signs where to go. We decided not to take the road through forest, since it took us almost 2h not to slide down the mountain hill due horrible conditions of the roads. If you do not have professional hiking boots, don't go. Honestly I do not know why they call this forest echanted because there isn't anything special. It was very regular forest with zero views. I have visited MANY hiking places all over Tenerife and this was literally the most boring, dangerous and info-less hiking road I have taken. If you are just a regular person who wants to discover Tenerife, choose other places to hike. This is just hyped up and not worth it. If you do not want to spend hours cleaning your shoes from the mud and be scared of dying due slippry road, choose other places. Huge disappointment. I do not get the pre-registering thing because I have never seen a hiking road in such a bad condition on Tenerife so far.

Not for spontaneous travellers....If you don't plan your visit in advance, you will be surprised in entrance of the park as we did. You need to have a permit and there was a ranger who was checking it. Permits for the day are limited. In our case no fine but you can't enter without it.

Great place to visit, it has every shade of green, birds are constantly singing. Just be sure to have a permission to get there as without it You can get a ticket up to 600eur. Guards are checking them so plan your trip there in advance.

We drove to the starting point of La Ensillada and walked down to La Cumbrilla village. We climbed back by the Cabezo del Tejo viewpoint, which had an amazing view to the sea. We also did the restricted area, make sure you get the permit ahead of time. All in all, the hike was slightly challenging, but so worth it!

Trail is nice and does feel like you are in an enchanted forest but the whole park is beautiful and not sure it was worth the permit trouble versus doing a different hike. It was mostly shaded which was nice. Please be a respectful hiker and pack out your toilet paper and don’t feed the birds! We tried to stop for lunch at the halfway point but were swarmed by birds

Getting to Bosque Encantado in Anaga, Tenerife, typically involves driving or taking a bus to the Anaga Rural Park, followed by a hike to the trailhead. The exact starting point can vary, so it's advisable to research or use a GPS app for directions. The hike through Bosque Encantado can take about 2 to 4 hours to complete, depending on your pace and how much time you spend enjoying the scenery. It's a moderate trek, suitable for hikers with some experience due to its uneven and sometimes slippery paths.

Great walk trough a dense forest with an amazing island view along the way and at the end of it. Around 2-3 hours round trip.

Beautiful, interesting path for average tourist. Little bit muddy, but safe even for children

Beautiful views from above, nice easy walk through forest, but still - wear appropriate shoes, as it's rocky sometimes. There is free car parking, and you need a permit before you go there (free but need to get it 16 days before, they issue only 45 per day, so be quick. You can find on google the official page). The bus goes every 3h, and there is almost no signal/ internet. It's not the most beautiful Anaga hike but was very nice 😊

IN ORDER TO ENTER THE PATH, YOU NEED TO OBTAIN PERMIT. Path through the laurel forest to the Cabezo del Tejo viewpoint. A great alternative to lying on the beach, you walk among trees and bushes all the time. With two or three stops with an amazing view of the coast. The access itself via a winding road is quite an attraction.

One of the best paths of Anaga. The biodiversity is just terrifying but that makes it so vulnerable and necessary to protect. According to this, you'll need to get the permission from the Cabildo de Tenerife, otherwise you are very exposed to be fined.

Absolutely magical place to hike. Its high up in the mountains and so has its own micro climate which was pretty refreshing compared to the heat of Mt teide and playa de Las teristas

It is truly an enchanted forest. The trail is easy to follow and manageable even with a one year old strapped on my chest. Hard to register, but worth it.
