😠 This is a really badly managed hostel. One thing not mentioned while booking is that they close the entire hostel between 12 and 3 each day, locking everyone out. Just one example of the place seeming to be run for the benefit of the manager than the guests. I arrived and had to wait 30 minutes outs... People often mention hostel, staff, nice,

This is a really badly managed hostel. One thing not mentioned while booking is that they close the entire hostel between 12 and 3 each day, locking everyone out. Just one example of the place seeming to be run for the benefit of the manager than the guests. I arrived and had to wait 30 minutes outside until any staff showed up. The phone number on the door went unanswered, staff made up some story about their phone suddenly not working (which looking at reviews I see they have given to other guests in previous months.) The male manager is really unpleasant to deal with and both staff members are quite unwelcoming to arriving guests. The staff spent the first night I arrived arguing with each other loudly after 11pm. I've heard staff are likely to bring their friends (non-guests) back after hours as well, which shows a ridiculous lack of security. Breakfast is terrible, the coffee undrinkable and the facilities including the capsule beds have not really been thought out properly. The building is nice & the place has some potential but overall it seems to be a hostel run by people that have never stayed in a hotel or hostel themselves! Such a shame this place is many people's first experience of La Palma - everything else about the island is wonderful & the other hostels and campsites I stayed at were excellent. Avoid here & spend a little more in Santa Cruz to stay somewhere better managed to start or finish your trip to La Palma well.

If you have a rule that you under no circumstances may enter the hostel between noon and 3 p.m., you need to make sure that everyone understands that. It isn't enough that you point to a row in the rules. Hotels that close during daytime and refuse to let people in even only for getting their things are unheard of, at least in my book.

I would definitely not recommend this hostel. If you have any other affordable options I would take those instead. The bathrooms were incredibly dirty (despite the clean look the photos suggested). The beds are equipped with these weird devices that emit a lot of light and noise. There is no sense of community and the staff was absent most of the time we spend here.

To those who give this place a 1 star review, I suggest you go travel the world a bit more, and experience what most hostels have to offer, as you clearly have no idea whatsoever. This is absolute luxury in terms of hostel accommodation. Perfect bathrooms and toilet facilities and beds in the capsules. I was very very happy when I arrived here, the place clearly is well maintained and someone went to a great deal of effort to ensure this place was well designed.

Stunning architecture with a nice combo of modern equipment and respect for the history of the building. Definitely the most original place where we stayed during our trip. Friendly staff, nice rooftop, nice location. Sad that we could only stay one night.

Be careful, the photos on Booking are not faithful. The rooms are not shown because you will actually sleep in a box, above or below another one and in a room which contains about eight of them. The box are ventilated in a rather noisy and not very efficient way. Also you can't lock the door of your box, only a lock is at your disposal.

This was an old three-stories townhouse, were the capsules were crammed everywhere they could fit. We got the lower capsule (which is literally on the level of other's people foot) in the hallway leading to the terrace. The capsules has no lock and the ventilation is poor, so in order to not suffocate yourself in this coffin you have to have the doors at least partially open, which is not so nice when everybody is smoking in the terrace and walking just beside your face. There is only one bathroom on the ground floor, which serves all those crammed capsules (good luck going there at night with this crazy amount of stairs), is poorly ventilated and always packed. One nice thing was very basic breakfast with some store-bought pastries, some bread, jelly and yogurt (not very healthy, but filling).

The manservant took my stuff without my permission or knowledge and he lost my wallet. When I approached him about this he was rude and defensive.
