The food was pretty good. Drinks were good. We decided to come here because Phil's Fish Market was way too busy and crowded. The garlic bread was good. The oysters were fresh and delicious. They were priced well. The cioppino was decent but tasted a little bland to be honest. The seafood Linguine was pretty good, but not great. Something was off about the seasoning and flavors of the dishes. The drinks were strong and delicious. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly and welcoming and knew the menu well. There is parking available in the lot outside, but it is pay to park. The views are great. Great atmosphere. I would recommend this place. Very clean and well kept.

Just left Johnnys, and let me tell you. You don’t want to miss their new happy hour menu! Great food and drinks as always. Plus the best views in town!

A lovely seaside setting to enjoy the excellent offerings at Johnny's Harbor. Fresh fish prepared straight from the dock, "undressed" or "decked out" such as this Tempura Curry Cod with Sticky Rice and Pickled Ginger cannot disappoint. Kudos to the Chef and our friendly waiter, Tony, for an excellent dining experience.

Good view and nice atmosphere at this place. Decent Santa Cruz experience. Food was fresh and tasted well. Swordfish was well cooked, but charred a bit too much that made it taste a bit burned. Clam chowder was too watery and had way too little ingredients in it, so I’d not recommend to have it here.

Parking: $1.50 per hour Water: $7 per bottle Specials: +$40 per plate Cocktails: +$20 per drink Food: Reasonable portion sizes but the flavor is not there at all. At least not consistently. The cocktails were strong but tasted as poorly as the food. I'm told the clam chowder is very good. None of the other meals were satisfying. I brought home most of my meal but I have no intention of eating it. I did not enjoy my meal so I would not recommend this restaurant.

This place has delicious food and incredible views of the marina area! It’s lovely to watch out the windows at sunset and keep your eyes open because you may just spot a few sea lions!! The place is a bit expensive but when you combine the amazing view and the delicious, super fresh sea food, it is completely worth it!! The bar area can make the place a bit loud so Fair warning on that but it would be a very romantic place to go at sunset!! Our part of three shared a salad and it was crazy because we still had extra since it was pretty large sized. It was fresh and tasty though! I got the shrimp scampi and garlic bread and boy did it not disappoint!! It was delicious that evening and I had the leftovers for dinner the next night and it was just as good! Thinking about the food again is totally making me hungry for it again!

My wife and I had a wonderful evening eating our fish dinners 🍽 tonight. The restaurant ambience is peaceful overlooking the boat harbor, and the service is very friendly. After ordering the ahi tuna and finding that it was not cooked all the way through, they gladly cooked it well done like I like it,and added more freshly cooked veggies. The cookie/ice cream sundae for dessert was delicious. Eating here tonight was one of the highlights of our visit to Santa Cruz this weekend. We highly recommend Johnny's Harborside, and we hope to return here next time we visit the area.

I was in a large group of 15 people. We called in advanced to make sure they could seat a group that big. The food that arrived first seemed to be fine, great even. The food that arrived for the last people, me, was rushed and not cooked properly. We, my wife, mother and I, ordered the fish and chips. One of our fish was raw in spots. Some of the other fried fish, when broken apart, oozed water. My mom demonstrated this 4 times to different people and it oozed water each time she squeezed it. The fries were hard, starchy and over cooked. They waived one of the fish n chips as an apology. We asked for the check to be split at the beginning. It was given to us in full and we were told to split the check ourselves.

Shrimp and Steak skewers were delicious. Steamed clams were great as well

Fun experience and probably the fish probably can't be anymore fresh. The portion sizes are quite large. Fish tacos with the cilantro lime was amazing!!

Mom and I stopped in for a late lunch on a Friday. It was our first visit. The restaurant had a nice, rustic interior. We got a table by the window & watched the boats go by. Mom and I both got the blackened fish tacos. They were excellent, the best I've had in a long time. I'd definitely go back.

We went there for lunch today and oh my goodness it was so good!! I got the fish and chips and the fish was so fresh, and also the clam chowder and oh my goodness it wasn’t soup, it was actual chowder so much flavor! My son and his girlfriend got the fish tacos. They were so fresh, oysters on the half shell, and an avocado stuffed with crab appetizer, and they absolutely loved it. The two kids, one got chicken tenders, they were fresh chicken breast that were sliced and the other fresh fish both were beer battered!! . The kids meals came with fruit and I couldn’t believe the size of the bowls full to the brim with cantaloupe, grapes, and oranges so fresh!! The kids menu is really good!! I was very pleased with a wonderful lunch to end my short vacation before heading home👍 We definitely will be back soon my new favorite place👏👏👏

The food was mediocre. The fish was fresh from the area, but the seasoning was weak. Our creme Brule was burned. The server was great. I enjoyed looking out the window at the docks and boats. We saw a sea lion. It was fun.

Only had 2 oders of Halibut at 6pm on Sunday. One of the orders was the dregs of pieces w skin side up. Bad presentation... Waitres good but too busy.

This place has quite delicious clam chowders and very fresh seafood a few years ago before pandemic when I visited. I really like this place. However, seems that not sure why they put 18% gratituity for to go orders. Clam chowder this time is covered in grease and has barely any clams. It seems that food quality dissapointed a lot after pandemic.

Excellent food, super good service. We got a reservation and we got a great table by the host. Then got great suggestions by the waitresses. It is pricey, but you can't remove stars for that. The prices are in the menu here in Yelp and online. Overall a great experience

We ended up coming here for a girls brunch and it was such a good decision. We got seated immediately and our server was so nice. We ordered mimosas and the stuffed avocado for appetizers, followed by the fresh catch of the day for our main. The carribean blackened salmon was the 🌟 of the day and I cannot recommend it enough. The place itself had a very relaxed chill vibe which made it easy for us to spend a long time there catching up with each other. Definitely going back!

Nice view and exceedingly eager service. Wasn't crazy about the food, but that has more to do with my Croatian expectations of seafood than the actual quality of the meal from an American perspective. As a Croatian, I generally don't eat seafood in the States because I tend to hate it. The cioppino was waaaaay too spicy instead of heavy on white wine, garlic, olive oil, and parsley - which is what I would have loved to taste.

Views of Santa Cruz marina. Good Service, good food. Clam chowder soup was surprisingly flavorful and zesty. The tangy salsa with fish tacos elevated the fresh flavors.. Flourless cake was dense and rich. Must for chocolate lovers.

Johnny’s harborside was a huge disappointment. Our margaritas were atrociously bad. My dish (Poke Bowl) was practically inedible. The fish tacos might have well been from a middle school cafeteria. I really wanted to like this restaurant because the staff were friendly and the location was great but I would absolutely not recommended this place under any circumstances. Definitely avoid, especially given that the prices are the same as what an actually good restaurant would charge.

Really a perfect treat. Fish right off the boat and onto our plates, into our mouths, now swimming in our belly’s and the fish seems to have had a wonderful adventure. We are all getting along fine.

Clam chowder was super delicious! The food was fresh… but very less options to choose from… The place altogether has great service and comes with a beautiful view
