Booked a room with the best western website and the reservation was not honored. Tried to give us room for 5 with one less bed than was booked. Then said they didn't have any rooms like what was book because they recently renovated, and tried to blame 3rd party booking sites. Then sent us to two adjoining rooms to make up for it. However, one of the rooms was completely filthy, with food leftovers and stains. Not only that they 3rd floor was still being renovated and had no carpet and boxes everywhere. The hotel itself was full of stains and filthy. We were able to find a room at the holiday Inn expresses less than a mile away; much cleaner, nicer rooms, free parking, and cheaper. I am never booking at this location again and would advise other to avoid it. Staff was less than helpful.

Checked in late at about 9pm and wasn’t too much of a headache. You have to around the corner to ring a doorbell to get in. I had to call the front desk to let me in as they was only one person working the front and they were busy helping others. Front desk staff were friendly. The room leaves something to be desired. My stay was during renovations to the lobby, but my room had the TV not working and the couch stained enough to deter me from sitting on it. Other then that the fridge, A/C, bed, bathroom, and breakfast met my needs and were satisfactory to my stay. Word of caution: their parking garage has low vertical clearance towards the back of the garage and the spaces are kind of tight. The parking was $20.

The Worst Best Western Ever!!. We have been staying with Best Western for years, yet this one was the worst. First, they messed up our request for the floor. Then, the suite did not have any complimentary tea/coffee which is quite unusual for this chain. The toilet felt like sitting in a plane's toilet tiny. They gave us limited numbers of towels and toiletries. Only one small shampoo, 1 conditioner, and 1 soap for two guests. Although there was a basement parking garage but it was full of trashes and seemed like no one cleaned for days. Some guests were smoking weed in the garage. Lastly, I am not sure of the name of guest service representative at the front desk, she was not cordial at all when I asked for some water bottles while checking out in hot summer day. If I would stay again in Santa Cruz, I will definitely choose another place despite being a member.

The suite was wonderful; very clean, interesting layout. The bed was spacious and comfortable. Hadn't had such a luxurious bath and shower in a while! The hotel's location is perfect. The staff were friendly and helpful! Thanks a lot.

We forgot our phone when we were staying there last month. I called and spoke with the hotel, and they were not helpful at all. It took over two weeks for me to get my phone back. I understand that I forgot my phone, but they could have been more sympathetic to my issue. Due to the length of time it took to resolve my issue, I missed appts, my medications, etc. I'm not pleased at all, especially with the cost of my stay

Stayed at the Best Western for a long stay and loved every single minute of it. The rooms are amazing and so clean! Plus everyone is so welcoming and helpful. Especially Samantha on the front desk who is an absolute sweetheart. Anything you need, they are ready to help and accomodate you! The breakfast every morning is great with alot of variety and I loved spending my mornings there! The manager Vanessa is super sweet and kind and made our visit there even better!

A beautiful Inn located in the hub of Santa Cruz. A short drive or a longer walk to The Boardwalk. Walking distance to restaurants and businesses. Inn has a visual attraction due to it's white fresh interior color which adds space. Beach and nautical prints hang in the rooms and hallways. Our room was very spacious clean and tidy. Items in the room were perfectly placed to allow a work- around space. The spacious dining area which includes a wonderful comped breakfast served a hot breakfast and cold cereal items. Has a multifunctional coffee maker, tea and juice bar. The dining room which was a converted pool has a large skylight which fills the room with natural light. There is a parking garage below the Inn. Parking spaces are tight which might be a challenge for large vehicles. A parking permit will be issued at check-in. All the Inn's Staff were friendly and helpful. Made our stay enjoyable. Would love to make a future stay. Thank you, Janet & David

Definitely not good. We had hair in our tub. Some lights didn't work in the room. It stunk. It was a very hard time to get 2 rooms near each other with our other group when there was almost no one there. When we called they answered then when we got there there was no one at the front desk. We rang the bell a few times then called and as we were leaving to go somewhere else they finally came and were super grumpy. I was charged 2 times for parking and wasn't returned 1 of them. We had a hard time finding the front desk. On top of it at 9 am they decided to come into our room without knocking and goes oh I thought you checked out. What if I was naked or having sex with my wife and they came in. It was 2 hours before we had to be out and usually the front desk let's them know when rooms checked out. Definitely will not stay here ever again. I definitely don't recommend staying here. I wish I could give less than a star

Samantha is AMAZING!Check in was exceptionally refreshing. It makes a big difference when the front desk delivers quality service, basically the entire hotels reputation can suffer if this one area lacks on making sure they are doing a good job. It’s up to them to recognize their role when it comes to ensuring the customer receive the necessary welcome to feel positive about the upcoming stay. I feel like BW delivered! I don’t think I’ve ever had a better check in experience in all my hotel stays anywhere! I truly mean it. Thank you *Samantha*, I feel you went above and beyond to show me genuine care to make sure I had a positive experience checking in. I can’t thank you enough. I’m sure many other customers would agree with me and feel the sane appreciation I do. You make Best Western look even better!

Windows are leaky, tubs drain slow, and most importantly the juice machine gets turned off except at breakfast >:( turn the juice machine back on all day please I WILL take my business elsewhere. I appreciate the all day coffee machine, but sometimes I need a silly little fruity drink.

Our room smelled like paint really bad. The next room he offered was still dirty. So he brought up a fan, and i got spray from the car to help w smell. Otherwise it was fine .

Okay so here we go. They do not clean the rooms there was hair everywhere the bathroom was disgusting the service was sub par when we told them about it. They did not even clean it when brought to there attention. Be aware they even told me they dont even clean the rooms. I have ton of pictures showed them and they said do not tell me tell corporate. I said to them you need to make sacrifices but rooms are not where you sacrifice. YOU NEED TO CHANGE BEST WESTERN..

Room is very clean and spacious. My only complaint is there is no AC and it was very stuffy making sleep almost impossible. But, beds were comfy and clean and I brought my own cooling pillows from home so I tolerated it best I could. Breakfast in the morning is decent. Bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes and a waffles and pancake maker. Plus hot and cold cereals, a coffee/espresso maker and various juices. All in all, I would definitely recommend and stay here again. Thank you....

First floor rooms can hear everything in the garage beneath (motorcycles arriving, blaring music, yelling). There are several rooms on first and second floor that are adjacent to the breakfast area so if you want to sleep past 6:45 am, request a different room. The dining area is open to the second floor rooms due to the vaulted ceiling. A decorative duvet would be much nicer than the stark white sheets with a thin blanket between them. It made the bedroom look bland. The bathroom is so small I had to walk in and step aside so I could close the door. Also, the towels smell funky and aren’t soft. But the location is great and the staff are friendly.

They straight up got rid of almost all the good food at breakfast and replaced the coffee machine with one that doesn't work in the middle of finals week. Nestle is evil and their products are mediocre. Also, almost none of the maid staff speaks even a lick of English. They don't speak enough to provide service, as they should be doing in a service position. The management honestly seems to want to shoot itself in the foot, which is sad because there are a lot of genuinely nice and helpful people working here.

I have been staying here for an extended period of time for a job, and all of the rooms have been very nice and clean. The staff has always been very helpful when i have ever needed anything, especially Samantha at the front desk. Who has helped me many times when I needed past billing info or anything else. I have recommended this motel to my colleagues and would stay here in the future.

Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, super clean room, comfy bed and nice hot shower. Great location just a mile from the boardwalk. We would definitely come back.

The place is going under renovation so I would not recommend while they’re doing construction. There was no carpet, there was dust and hotel parking was challenging at night. It was hard to find a place to park. The place was noisy since the building was located on a busy street so it was hard to get a restful night. The rooms looked updated and bed was comfortable. The staff were nice and informed us about the inconveniences we would have for our night. I’m given this place a 2 star because the company should have been more transparent online and on phone about their inconveniences of the renovations.

This place used to pretty good (4-star), but the surrounding neighborhood has taken a dump. We used to be able to walk to the boardwalk, now it's questionable to walk up the block. They are undergoing renovations that should be done by mid 2023, but until then...avoid this place! The rooms do not have what are stated, nor what you pay for (no sofa beds, no hot tub, no flooring in some hallways, old furniture, etc). The front desk staff was not helpful, nor cared. Only bright spot was the Manager, who seemed to actually care and helped us out with a temporary bed.
