I used the midwives at Santa Fe Birthing Center for my pregnancy, but gave give birth at St. Vincent. The Women's Care Specialists were great for my birth but everything since has been pretty terrible. Their customer service is HORRIBLE. The have repeatedly cancelled appointments last minute, while I have a newborn at home! They have called and asked me to come in hours earlier then scheduled, and appointments are booked months out. Don't expect anyone to get back to you if you call with a question. The receptionist today wouldn't even let me leave a message. She said there was only one midwife on duty and she was busy and didn't have time to return my call today....or this week! What kind of doctors can't get back to their patients? They charge you 30k for your delivery and seriously don't seem to care one ounce if you drop over dead afterward. I would highly recommend staying away from this establishment. There are better, more sincere and engaged midwives in Santa Fe.

Update as of 05/10 I added a couple of stars ⭐️ to my last review to acknowledge the improvements I noticed these past few months. After posting my last 2-star review, I received a lot of positive attention and care. I also want to thank Dr. Ulibari for the successful surgery she performed on me last November 2022. I personally like my doctor Dr. Ulibari and her happy assistant. However, the staff always leaves me frustrated whenever I call or I stop by there. For a health care facility, I find the staff (besides my doctor, of course) pretty dry and unwelcoming. I wish the leadership had a better emphasis on treating patients with kindness and understanding. It's a shame. For instance, I was on the phone just now with someone who was supposed to be a nurse there. She keeps asking me: "who told you that?" And I pointed out that I don't know. Anyhow, she tries to imply that I should know. I have to tell her that I don't even know who she is. She smartly responds that she doesn't know who I am either. How can a staff fail to introduce herself and make sure to know that I am an unimportant human being? Her main goal was to deny my request and move on with her day. So I went ahead and follow her footstep, but I had to write this review. I actually wanted to give a one-star, but because of my doctor and her assistant, I gave an additional star. The staff always acts as if I'm supposed to know what's going on. I'm a patient. You're the insider. Help me to understand what I'm supposed to do. Be kind whenever you speak with me. It's so annoying. It's just awful that this place has very poor customer service. I mean, the disrespect and lack of understanding are always in the staff's mouth. I strongly dislike calling them. And yes, the waiting time can be ridiculously long -- even before COVID-19, it was. Just thinking of calling frustrates me because the staff is so unpleasant. If you don't believe, that's fine. Read other reviews below. Mind you, I wrote this review before even reading past reviews. The reviews all state how rude and unprofessional the staff is over the phone or in-person. I don't understand why you hire wonderful doctors such as Dr. Ulibarri, only to have unprofessional and rude staff members who can care less about your patients. That doesn't make sense at all. Please do something about that, at least for the sake of your patients. It's a shame.

Not friendly and passive aggressive. I was trying to schedule an appointment and felt as if I were a problem. First it was let me see if we have ANYTHING available, then, actually we aren't doing annuals or many other services at this time, so I told her fine ill skip the annual but I was due to change my birth control, then I was told oh actually you need a referral by a different doctor to be seen here or your insurance won't work here. Never heard that one before. They could just say no we wouldn't like to help you nor be here at this job answering phones. That's the vibe I got. I then called another gynecologist and spoke to the most helpful and kind person. I feel like I dodged a bullet on this place.

I originally tried making an appointment because I found out I was pregnant after several months of trying to conceive. They refused to see me until I was 8 weeks. Lost the baby at 7 weeks. I went to see a Dr to see why my pregnancy did not last also to see why I'm having a hard time to conceive. I went to my appointment and was in the waiting room 20min go by after my scheduled appointment, I was being super patient. The nurse finally calls me back to a room. I go back and she spends a couple minutes with me and says the Dr will be in shortly. I waited over an hour in a room in the back and the Dr sends a student in to talk to me (the Dr did not accompany the student). The student does the best she can by asking questions. She then says the Dr will be with me shortly. I waited another 45min to see the Dr and basically she told me "come back in two months if you're not pregnant again." All that time for no guidance whatsoever. I have a kid and a career they did not think to accommodate me once. I went to another Dr elsewhere to find out that my miscarriage was 100% preventable if the office would have seen me at 4-6 weeks like I requested. All I needed was a simple blood draw and they would have caught that I needed meds so my body wouldn't have attacked the baby.

Front desk is very unprofessional. I’m 25 weeks pregnant and after my second appointment I went up to the desk to schedule my follow up, the girl LOUDLY asks me if I was FINALLY able to get my birth control. I was like what??? It was very rude. And she said, ohhh I thought you were another patient. I just moved to NM and I’m really just dreading going to my next appointment. The medical assistants are very nice so far and the midwives seem to be rushed. Overall my experience has Been bad.

I work in healthcare. So I try to be very understanding. But this is unacceptable. The clinic couldn’t see me in my first trimester. I went to their next available appointment at almost 19 weeks. When I arrived the lady at the desk was EXTREMELY RUDE, stating that she had called me the day of my appointment to reschedule. With less than 24 hours notice the time was changed to a time when I was busy at work, I was unaware of the change, and no one was able to see me when I arrived for my scheduled appointment. I would have given this up as a one time deal, but based on the amount of similar complaints from google this is a chronic clinic problem. The next appointment they could get me in with anyone, not even my regular doctor was another 3 weeks out.

Never going back!!! I went in recently for a urine test. They checked me in and never called me back. After an hour I went up to ask what the wait was since I wasn’t even seeing a nurse. Turns out they had just forgotten about me. So did the test, was told the nurse would call with results, never received any call. I did receive a shockingly large bill though. They billed over one thousand dollars. When I called my insurance about it, they told me to have the bill investigated bc they charged the same thing 3 times and billed it as an emergency, which puts a large up charge on it. On calling the Christus billing dept, they told me everything is billed as an emergency at this clinic and they will not change it. I have no idea how this place still has any patients but they’ve definitely lost one here.

I share the perspective of many of the reviewers on the disorganization and unprofessionalism of the staff at this clinic. Every time I call I have to call multiple times to get a person on the line. The receptionists are short, sometimes rude, and act as if I'm lucky to ever get an appointment when they bounce my appointment times and dates around without regard for my availability or the fact that I too have a career and kids and a busy schedule. The last time I was there my doctor told me to get labs done following my appointment, and after waiting 30 minutes at the lab, the order still hadn't come through. When someone finally answered at the office, after being put on hold for awhile, I was told that they were too busy to put in the labs and my situation was not an emergency so I needed to go back another day. Literally took up my whole afternoon for nothing. The only reason I don't give this one star is because the doctors/midwifes are caring and responsive- it's just hard to get access to them.

Been in pain for months now and have been trying to be seen here when I tried making an appointment months back they couldn’t get me in for 2 months and than day before my appointment rescheduled on me for another week later! I’m done going to this place! I love my dr here but it’s hard to get in and they give you the run around when you call for appointments! They sometimes don’t even return your phone calls when you leave messages to make an appointment or get medications filled!!!!!!Wish there was a way for me to put zero stars!!!!!!!!

I agree with the earlier comment about these reviews. We had our baby last December and the staff and providers were all great, especially Deena! She made a point of setting everything aside to be present at the birth. Now, we are pregnant again and I didn't hesitate a second to make an appointment here. We are very comfortable and happy with the care.

Would love to know tge reasons why they can't keep doctors. The doctors are great, staff so-so bu the doctors are consistently leaving the practice. Something is wrong.

My 5+ visits with the midwife team and all interactions with receptionists or phone calls have gone great so far. I left Presbyterian Hospital because of poor treatment and am very happy I switched here.

I was hesitant to go here after hearing and reading bad reviews, but my experiences for the last 9 months have been excellent. Maybe I started right around the time when they got some more attentive office staff. They have also recently hired new doctors. The midwives have all been great. And somebody always responds to my questions via MyChart within the day, sometimes within hours. This is a better option than calling the front desk for most questions that aren’t scheduling related.
