I’m hard pressed to remember if I’ve ever been to a Mexican restaurant truly deserving of five stars. This one does. Creative, complex but not fussy dishes trying to be something they’re not. The duo of poached pear salad (yes, you read that right) and the organic stuffed squash blossoms (yes you read that right as well) were remarkable…such wonderfully different tastes. And the tortilla crusted vegetarian chicken relleno was superb. Bravo.

Hands down one of the best dinners my family have ever had. Exceptional food. My boyfriend almost cried it was THAT good lol. The service was impeccable, it was my daughter's birthday and we were treated to complimentary prosecco and churros for the birthday girl. I cannot wait to go back. Highly, highly recommended.

Not really one to be motivated to make a review, one way or the other, but must give credit where credit's due. Fantastic experience at Zacatalan. Knowledgeable friendly service, and a memorable dining experience. Very generous prices for the quality and quantity one recieves here. My $40 strip steak that took two meals to finish easily would have cost 2x as much somewhere else with less care. Can't recommend enough with this hidden gem. Treat it well, Santa Fe!

A spectacular lunch. The patio is bright and cheerful. The Navajo taco was generous in size and layered with many flavors that worked well together. The Sopecitos was amazing. The pork, chicken, and calabacitas were all well flavored and made an amazing flavorful lunch. We split a flan de Elote which was fun and delightful. A delicately sweet corn flan with a caramel sauce and candied popcorn which made a fun crunch of sweetness. Service was wonderful. We will be back to try dinner menu!

Incredible spot! The service and care was wonderful. Such high quality food. Everything we ordered was delicious. Nothing was left on the table by the time we finished - it was so so good. Highly recommend this hidden gem! These churros 👌🏻😍

My overall grade for Zacatlan is: B We had what seemed to be the last reservation that night. 8:45. Asked for a table in the main restaurant, but was told it would be a wait even though there were empty tables. Hmm. Ok. Sat in an “outdoor” patio. They turned on a heater. The floor was so uneven, we thought we were on a hill. Presented with a complimentary glass of Prosecco. Nice Ordered a bottle of rosé Cremant. A great deal for a great bottle of wine. Squash blossoms for appetizers. Amazing!! Ordered whole red snapper & 16-hour braised short ribs. Snapper amazing. Short-ribs: meh. Should’ve had much more flavor. Filled with locals. Seems to be very popular. We will come back to explore more of the menu. Service: great.

"This restaurant was a good third choice that should have been our first." Nice little restaurant. We were visiting, showing my wife my home state. We stayed at a hotel that is walking distance to the plaza. Most of the restaurants were booked and couldn't find one till we came to Zacatlan. I felt a little underdressed, but the food was amazing. The wine that was recommended was off the chain. If you ever get the chance, head down there. You won't be disappointed.

The restaurant is small and cozy. The staff is very attentive and friendly. We had the pulpo and the special of a tomahawk pork chop. It was all delicious. The octopus had a lot of flavors but they all worked together. The black truffle mashed potatoes with the pork chop were so tasty ! The wine list has a good selection and a wide array of price points. We will go back when we are in Santa Fe again.

Exceptional from start to finish! Had a fantastic dinner on the patio. Enjoyed guacamole, stuffed squash blossoms, entrees and are so glad we didn’t skip the churros for dessert. Server had an excellent understanding of the menu. Each item was plated beautifully. Beautiful patio and relaxed comfortable atmosphere.

My family went to Zacatlan for a Christmas Eve dinner and were having a good time with great food until we noticed that they had segregated out the Asian patrons. 100% of the ~10 tables in the main dining area were all non-Asian while 100% of the Asians were seated in the enclosed side area (8 tables of Asian patrons). This left a bad taste in my mouth as we finished our meal. Overall, because of that I cannot recommend this restaurant. Food - 5 Service - 3 (nice attitude-wise, but for a $100+ pp meal, I’d expect not to have to flag down servers to fill completely empty my water cup) Atmosphere - 1 (cute spot, if you can get past the segregation)

Fantastic dinner! We started with the bone marrow and the poached pear salad. Both were excellent. For main courses, we selected the duck leg confit and the short rib. Absolutely amazing dishes. Both were packed with flavor, well-balanced, and beautifully composed. We finished by sharing the bread pudding, which was the perfect level of light sweetness. Service was delightful, and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. During our stay in Santa Fe, this meal was the absolute highlight. And it was a pleasure to see the chef delivering courses to the diners. He should be very proud of the tremendous experience he is providing. If/when I return to Santa Fe, Zacatlan is a "must visit."

10/10 We went for brunch on a Saturday and had the Chilaquiles with mole sauce and the tacos al pastor. The food was absolutely amazing! Very authentic mexican flavors beautifully displayed. I will be recommending this spot to anyone visiting Santa Fe.

Craves for the food, but left me with cold feet. Pre-fixe Christmas menu, some of the best steak and fish I’ve ever had. Unfortunately the experience was tainted by the freezing drafts on the enclosed patio and check/billing mix-up by staff.

Amazing food and atmosphere! Our waiter was fun and thoroughly answered all our questions about the menu. We got a glass of champagne and dessert as celebrating a birthday. Donna had the red snapper and I had the filet mignon. We had stuffed squash blossoms for a starter and I had the bread pudding and it was the best I have had.

By far the best meal I've had in Santa Fe. My husband wanted classic Mexican/New Mexican food in a casual environment, I wanted slightly more upscale... This satisfied both of us! The passion and skill put into the food is clear. The octopus was to die for (I'm very picky about the texture, and this was tender perfection) and my husband loved the duck with homemade tortillas. The bread pudding is a MUST (beautiful combo of flavors). The ambiance could not have been better. We sat outside on the covered patio. Classic historic Santa Fe charm. Cozy and relaxing. Perfect for date night or bonding with friends and family. The chef even hand-delivered our food himself. The service was a bit minimal but very nice, and that is honestly what we prefer... No long sales spiels and pushiness. Everything/everyone felt real and heartfelt and high quality. Be aware, they do not serve cocktails, just wine and beer... But actually the simplicity of this was very nice and added to the relaxed warm vibe of eating dinner at a friend's house. Can't recommend this place enough!

The restaurant is very quaint, quiet and clean. Server who greeted us was extremely polite and very welcoming. Food was delicious and very much worth your money! Definitely will return. I got the smoked salmon avocado toast, and my spouse got the enchilada de mole negro. It was... 🤤👏👌👍🔥

We've been here for brunch twice now and the food is beyond phenomenal. Best dining experience in Santa Fe so far. If they have it, we highly recommend getting the robins eggs for dessert. It's not a traditional dessert. Super pretty aesthetically and unique taste.

Foie gras (comes with Filet Mignon) really good. Super tender and melt in your mouth. The exterior is kind of caramelized so it adds a slight crisp to the foie gras. Even eating it directly is not too heavy imo. Filet Mignon is decent but not particularly special to the same dish else where. The potato egg pancake side dish os pretty good as well. I thought it would match really well if they add some truffle salt to the cake. Friend Red snapper is a visually appealing dish. They separated the fillets and fried them so it’s very easy to eat. But the fish itself is rather typical, it’s good but not special. The bottom has a layer of risotto, not bad. For Dessert, we got Flan Elote, frankly don’t recommend, unless you haven’t tried flan before. But the other dessert options look worth trying The food here is very filling and good portion. For me and my friend, we spent $130 in total

Wonderful place for Brunch. Staff was friendly and helpful. Menu selections quite interesting. We had the Juevos Rancheros and the Fry Bread with Venison. Thankfully they excluded the burning hot sauces so one could actually taste the food! Very delicious. The Patio was a good place to sit, though inside there is also a fine dining atmosphere. We will return sometime and try other items on the menu.

This place was great. We were wary when we walked in with no wait to an almost empty dining room, but it just hasn't been discovered yet. The appetizers were good and the meals were delicious. My only complaint would be that the portion sizes were a little small, but I don't really need that much food, now do I... Try it, you'll like it. And the restaurant did fill up as we sat there.

I had my birthday dinner here with my fiancé last night. The building is very cute, very Santa Fe. The service was great. The entrees and dessert were an explosion of flavor and the portions were bigger than I expected. I can tell that they use high-quality ingredients and the chef/owner is passionate about this restaurant. Everything had a unique spin to it and was plated beautifully. The wine was amazing. It was definitely more than just dinner, it was an experience. Thank you for making my birthday special, Zacatlan!
