Santa Fe s/b embarrassed. Pathetic excuse for Mexican food. Total tourist trap. Taco Bell is better than this place. Even margaritas are poor, as if made from a powdered mix. Truly pathetic. DO NOT WAIT IN LINE FOR THIS PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR MEXICAN FOOD. GIVING 5 stars so people will see this review. This a minus 5 restaurant. In fairness, Service was good but goal is to keep turning tables.

The Shed is an absolute must when visiting Santa Fe. But make sure you have reservations. Right now they are taking reservations 3-months in advance. You can also show up right at 4pm and put your name on a waiting list and hopefully you get in. On this visit, that’s exactly what we did and where so excited that we were able to get in as we had been trying to on several trips and couldn’t. And it couldn’t have been a more perfect table. We were celebrating our 15th anniversary, and the table was secluded from the rest of the restaurant - it couldn’t have been planned better. Service was ever so nice and thoughtful. Highly recommend!!!

Great place to eat while in Santa Fe. Located near the plaza, The Shed offers some of the best New Mexican food in the area. Although their prices are bit high and it's kind of touristy the food is good. I always have the enchiladas with both red and green sauce. They have great outdoor seating and fun indoor seating within a very old building with all the charm expected from an old Santa Fe building. I highly recommend.

A perfect place to eat on a nice day. Their patio seating is gorgeous and creates a beautiful atmosphere with shade. The salmon was phenomenal but their guac and salsa had 0 flavor. I recommend skipping that. Great drinks and great menu. Expect a wait.

After road-tripping for several days and living on a diet including lots of fast food, I was dying for some vegetables. I got the Mixed Green Salad with house vinaigrette and added some salmon. It was perfect and just what I was wanting! Nice mix of veggies and the salmon was delicious without any weird fishy taste. Recommended!

Local spot turned into very popular for tourists as well. Definitely need reservations for dinner. Feels like they found put together a menu that was very popular and never had to change - not a bad thing! Really enjoyed my food. Great list of mezcals and mezcal cocktails

Stellar lunch. We had the BEST server (Aaron sp) he knew all about the nearby things to do of now and of yore. I enjoyed my food and drink. I got a double spinach and cheese enchilada and a cup of the corn soup. Going for lunch was easier than trying to get in for dinner, too.

Delicious chicken enchiladas, huge and filled with white chicken appropriately spiced. Nice posole and pinto beans sides. Excellent margarita hand poured, fresh lime and nice tequila. Awesome bar with both tourists & locals.

Lovely patio, food was slightly above average per our group vote although the Blue Cheese and Walnut Salad received a 10 out of 10 as did the Gazpacho. This part of Santa Fe around the Plaza is not to be missed so make sure to experience the many incredible art galleries and absorb the rich history of the area.

The wait was worth it. Shared a few entrees the chicken enchiladas with green chili was the best. Save room for dessert. The apple pie 🥧 was AMAZING.

Pretty difficult to get into since it’s so popular so expect to have a minimum of 1-1.5 hour wait. Fortunately they text you when your table is ready so you can walk around while you wait. That being said, we really enjoyed the Shed. It was a large menu and all the food we ordered was delicious. The prices were extremely fair as well. Definitely recommend!

We went at 5 when they opened to put our name down for later that evening. I’d suggest you either do that or call ahead. Long lines but worth the wait! Their salsa is a little spicy (that could be the tourist in me showing), so I got guacamole as well. Everything was great. Especially the margaritas. Huge umbrella on the patio so you’re not in the sun.

Table for two please not long after 5 pm and we scored a table at this highly sought after restaurant! By 6pm people were turning away because of long wait times. When in Santa Fe and looking to eat in the Plaza areas you must either go early or make a reservation. Service was fantastic!! Food was great! Get the trio dip! I could have skipped dinner and had only chips and dips and would have been happy! I ordered the Ribeye and enchilada and added chicken. I only took away a star due to the ribeye not being truly charbroiled and slightly overcooked. Full of flavor! I had a margarita and take them seriously when they say their margaritas are tart lol. Our waitress was friendly and attentive with great suggestions!

Best food in Santa Fe. I was not expecting the kick of spice. Definitely get the green burritos with pollo adobo Christmas style with a over easy egg on top. It was AMAZING. it was recommended by a local.

I’m glad I did not listen to the negative reviews on this place. Every dish we had was delicious! I had the grilled shrimp it was fantastic, the salmon Caesar salad was out of this world and was such a huge portion we could not finish it. The guys had a beef burrito and another specialty dish- and they loved it! The drinks were fantastic, the service was warm, welcoming, and very quick and on point. Our reservation was at 5, and we ate outdoors. Our server was Zacciah, and he was absolutely the best. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation!!

Probably one of the better spots in Santa Fe. Pros: -The food was pretty good. We got the shrimp and tacos and we were both happy. The chips and guacamole were also good. -The service was excellent. -The garlic bread was good. It being toasted/warm would have been that much better Cons: -The waiter suggested the pollo adobo for the meat but don’t say it costed extra. Would have been nice to be given a heads up. The meat was good but I felt the flavor was lacking. Some salt would have helped. -The hot chocolate was alright. Not very chocolate-y - we didn’t have a wait but this place gets very busy so try to get on the waitlist -only 1 refill on a soda?

It’s worth the wait. We arrived at 11:30 AM and we’re seated in 40 minutes giving us some time to shop at some of the nearby shops. Margaritas were excellent followed by some authentic Mexican food. The corn chowder had a nice kick and the chips we had with the spicy quest are made fresh everyday.

Great food at fantastic prices. The atmosphere is pure Santa Fe and the service was very friendly. I had the pollo adobo, which was very good, though not QUITE as good as my ex-girlfriend used to make. Dad had the grilled shrimp and those were pretty close to perfect. The chili relleno that came with my entree was also exceptional, and even the garlic bread was better than in many places. I also had the Burn, a spicy margarita, and it was fantastic, if a bit pricey. Still, we had three meals for what you'd pay for one at some of the restaurants in the area, so spending a bit extra on drinks was no big deal. Definitely check their hours and availability before you go! They close mid-day and get crowded, so plan ahead!

Holy yum!!! The enchiladas were spicy but amazing. Dylan was an attentive and kind waiter. Plus, service was fast, but we didn’t feel rushed out or anything.

Loved this place for lunch. Such a gorgeous setting, beautiful ambience and the food was fabulous. We had the trio of dips, spinach enchiladas with "Christmas" salsa and the house margaritas were punchy and delicious. Shout out to Iain for his excellent service and l looking after us so well.

Our first taste of New Mexican food!! Loved that they served it with garlic bread. This place is packed, we got there at 4:30 pm to ask about the waitlist and they were able to make us a reservation for 5:30 pm. We loved the salsa and Queso, and I got a stewed chicken with pozole that was great.

The best green chile stew we have had yet. We arrived on Wed (today is Sat) with the goal of trying as much green chili stew as we could. This is hands down the best. It doesn't hurt that the cocktails are amazing here as well. Reservations are mostly booked 3 months out, but you can squeeze into the bar if you are lucky. Cannot praise the chile or cocktails enough!

Came here for dinner after hearing this place was a MUST when visiting Santa Fe and we were not disappointed. We got a round of spicy margaritas, which were wonderful and the green Chile chicken enchiladas (photographed) and the taco plate for dinner. Both were amazing- the enchiladas were some of the best enchiladas I have ever had! We also sat at the bar and received great, attentive service and enjoyed the atmosphere. Highly recommend this spot!

Wandered into the Shed for a late dinner tonight… an oldie but a goodie in Santa Fe, NM. Placed our name on the list, and headed into the bar… a couple of christalino margaritas, with chips and salsa/queso started the evening. The drinks were great, the salsa was super fresh and the heat in the salsa just right. The queso was also on point, served hot and with enough peppers to add a little kick. For entrees we ordered the same thine, chicken enchiladas “Christmas-style” and we got the sides of beans and pozole on one order. OMG, the enchiladas were good, chicken seasoned well, blue tortillas delightful, and the red and green chili sauces were outstanding! Beans and pozole also good. No room for dessert this trip, maybe next time! Service as always was good, attentive but not overbearing. The Shed delivers consistently good food as it has for decades! Recommend it!

Great Food and Great Prices ! Staff is very friendly! Many shops around to shop while waiting to be seated! Their enchiladas and tacos are Astonishing They are dog friendly. They made my Gucci feel at home

  • 5/5 Emily N. 4 months ago on Google
Delicious! Loved the taco and enchilada plate with red and green salsas. The posole was fantastic, the beans were flavorful, and the salsas had a nice kick. Huevos Rancheros were also delicious and came with a delicious garlic bread. The red chili hot fudge sundae was very unique offering a unique blend of sweet and cold vanilla ice cream against hot and spicy fudge. The dessert is spicy as advertised!! The staff were so kind and friendly. Strongly recommend the Shed! The queso was good, but if you’re from Austin (like I am) it may not live up to your standards

We went for early lunch on a week day, not much wait. Later, we observed some wait times. Great food. Friendly. We would go back.

Our favorite Santa Fe find, though most often you need a reservation as they get booked up. Lucked into 1st lunchtime seating with a fabulous waiter in a little back room (love the quirky low doorways). Food was superb, plenty of gluten-free selections. Quite an array of margarita and drink options! Check it out!

Our server was really nice, fast service. Long que on a weekend but fast turnover. Good food. Nice vibe. We had the salsa and enchiladas with green and red sauce

I ate here twice in a three-day visit to Santa Fe this week: once inside, in the old casa, and once outside, on the patio. The atmosphere in both places was relaxing and all servers thoughtful and friendly. And you know what else impressed me? When a visitor asked about sopaipillas, which aren’t on the Shed’s menu, a host suggested a place across the plaza that’s known for its sopaipillas. Visitor tip: plan ahead. Stop by any time before they open for dinner at 5 p.m. and put down your name for sometime during the dinner service.

Great place for traditional South West cuisine. Love the Tamales with Christmas Salsa. Overall a fun place to try. Here iscthe hot tip. Stop by at 5:30pm to add your name to the wait list, and you will have a table by 7:30 pm. Yes, it is that busy!

Loved the patio! We didn't know that we had to make a reservation and we were lucky that the patio was empty as most people opted to be indoor on a cool rainy day. They have heaters and well covered patio so that was no problem for us + outdoor doesn't seem to be as noisy as indoor. We liked the food and finished our dinner with a homemade flourless chocolate cake. FYI, they can put the chilly aside if you can't handle spice.

Oh wow - this New Mexican restaurant is a hidden gem that is not really a secret... was told by a local that it's a place for both locals and visitors to SFe. Really great food and friendly, laid-back atmosphere with even more friendly service. Chicken Adovado was excellent! Menu prices are more wallet-friendly compared to other SFe restaurants, I thought. We went as a party of two on a Monday for early dinner without a reservation and we were told the wait was 90-120 mins (!) Luckily, the bar was open seating and we sat there without any wait. Be prepared to wait a long time if you don't have a reservation! Parking is on the street or a paid lot somewhere else near the market/Central square. Recommended!

Nothing beats a hand shaken Margarita served on the copper toped bar.The shed is filled with locals and visitors. My blue corn tacos were super yummy, our server who was also the bartender was very friendly and helpful it was super fun watching her work “lunch and a show”

  • 5/5 Chris B. 2 years ago on Google
Nothing like dinner at a 70 year old Santa Fe tradition. Great New Mexico cuisine. So glad we made a reservation three months ago! The wait tonight for walk-ins was 3 hours.

Those shrimp were delicious they set a really high bar and my margarita with added simple syrup and strawberry puree was also delicious. The flan was a perfect dessert after my meal.

We were lucky to walk up around 4pm and snag a 5:30 dinner reservation for a table on the patio. Friendly service. Reasonable prices. Good food. Nice ambience. The night before we had a tasteless blue enchilada meal at the Plaza Cafe. We had the same dish at The Shed and it was way way better. The red sauce wasn’t too crazy hot. Then we had the flan for dessert. That was just ok for me. The location is near the cathedral off the main plaza.

I am a life long New Mexican and have heard about this place. Service was awful. Nothing on the order was correct and they even tried to overcharge me for their mistake. Chicken was dry and not authentic New Mexican food! Who gives garlic bread with red chili? Stuffed poblano also looked like they were shriveled in a microwave. Not real New Mexican.
