You lost our business. Since moving to Santa Fe four months ago, we were excited to find this place and had several good experiences. So we were excited to try some other pizza menu options for pick up. Our pizzas were so cold when we got back, they actually seemed old, like they'd been sitting out for a really long time. When we called, we were told, sorry, but they don't have a pizza warmer and it was our fault for not picking them up on time. We did. We live pretty close and my partner left as soon as we ordered. He actually had to wait for a bit before they brought the pizzas out. It wasn't just the REALLY bad food that we were put off by, it was the total lack of respectful customer service in response. Blaming the customer is extremely bad form. Don't you care about losing a customer? You should. Supporting local business is so important to us. Would be nice if you showed some of that in return.

Moved back to Santa Fe recently and had not been to backroad since high school. Back then it was a cool place to hang out and shoot pool. I remember it being pretty good. Man how times change. I finally got to try it and I’m blown away. Absolutely the best pizza in Santa Fe. The topping a are killer quality. The crust is perfectly crispy and thin with corn meal on the bottom. I have been trying the margarita pizza at every pizza spot in town and this is hands down the best so far.

First time at this location and it was great menu wise. Might try a different crust next trip. Compliments on the rolls adding the extra cheese so a must have with your pizza. Employee that handed my order had a great attitude. I was expecting to walk to a table when I was greeted by a cheerful individual with my food.

Great pizza. Worth the try if you're visiting or passing through. Pizza is thin crust. They have an upstairs pool table. 1st place winner of Best of Santa Fe for a decade now.

I can no longer justify spending $30+ on a large pizza that I have to pick up myself. The crust is not good, has a strange taste, I don't like it. So it's just not worth it. We make better pizzas from scratch at home. A bit more work, which is why we sometimes pay for pizza, but after tonight, no more. If there was a bit more sauce, enough to know there actually is sauce, plus I don't like the crust. All of this adds up to way overpriced.

Went in on a Friday, 5pm. Surprisingly, the place wasn't that busy, considering the day and time. Was really excited to try the food as they've won the SF Reporter, "Best of SF" dating back to 2012. We ordered the Norm, and it looked delicious, however the taste didn't stand out as a clear "Best of SF" winner? Maybe we ordered the wrong pizza? Staff was somewhat friendly and beer/salad were great! You have to get your own utensils/napkins/refills and put away your used dishes.

I’ve had some great pizza around the world and this was some of the best. The light, flaky cornmeal crust was a revelation and that sweet, tangy marinara sauce was divine. I Live in Albuquerque, and I’d consider Backroad Pizza a destination, one New Mexican green chili pizza please. Eat it fresh and don’t wait!

Had to try this spot since it’s rated really well… but was slight disappointed instead. I ordered the Christmas in May pizza and another customized pizza and the taste was good but nothing out of this world. They also don’t use a lot of dough so the crust was really thin and every time I bit into it was rather hard than soft. However, customer service was great.

Stopped for lunch. Disappointed they only had three pizzas to choose from by the slice, only because they state 4 on their website. Ended up getting a “cutie” sized pizza and one slice of pizza. The slice was huge so it was pretty much the same size as the cutie. Crust is unique and delicious.

Absolutely horrible staff. They were was so rude and said we had showed up too early and were put off that we wanted to pay before we got our pizza. The owner came out and yelled at me for being 5 minutes early and the patrons in the restaurant chimed in at how horrible she was being for no reason. It appears the owner has taught her staff how to treat customers and it shows because they all showed zero respect for anyone who was dining or buying from them. They gave word one answers to our questions with surly attitudes. The pizza is sub par but for the service it’s a no go for me. I have worked in the service industry for many years and have never written a review until now. This is the ONE local business that I would never support again.

This is one of the best pizzas ever. I love the way they make it Santa Fe style by adding green chili! Every time I go to Santa Fe I have to hit up Backroad Pizza!

They do not have in-house dining, but they do have outdoor seating and take out. The pizza tasted good, nothing special though. They do have a variety of unique pizzas that you can choose from or build your own. The man that took our order was extremely friendly and helpful. Since we were from out of town, we asked him several questions which he answered the best he could.

Pizza and salad were excellent! Is it cheap? No, it's in Santa Fe. But the quality was fantastic. Friendly counter service, booths, casual atmosphere. Really very delicious, we liked the crust. We ordered the New Mexican specialty pizza with pepperoni, green chile, red onion and a beet & feta side salad. One thing, to correct the description here on Google Maps - there are pool tables upstairs, but NO "vintage video games."

Friend raved about the place for the longest time, and it still lived up to the hype. The crust is unique and excellently crunchy. Toppings are of quality. Best pizzas I've had in a while!

Delicious! I had the beet and feta salad with the house made dill vinaigrette and it was AMAZING! I also had the green chili chicken pizza. The crust is made from scratch and is delicious with an excellent texture. I grew up on NY pizza and this is way better.

For a long time we had another favorite pizza restaurant. We recently heard from some friends that Back Road is very good and tried it. It was awesome. We had one of the build your own pizzas with pesto and lots of garlic and couldn't stop talking about it until all of it was gone over the weekend, We will definitely go back!

Lunch special was great, slices are HUGE, green chile is on point, crust is crispy, and being a sauce guy, theirs is Deeeelicious, mmm mmm good. Staff is way cool. Service was quick. Im a semi regular, gotta watch my pizza consumption, but it IS the BEST in town.

We have had pizza to go from here but this was the first time eating there. The guy who took our order was very friendly and helpful. We got beverages and waited for our pizza. The music inside was very loud so we tried to pick a table that was far enough from the door that we would not freeze every time someone opened it or get deafened. We did enjoy chatting with a diner at the next table. Our pizza came very quickly and was exceptionally delicious. This is probably our favorite pizza in Santa Fe (so far, anyway). If they could put an airlock of sorts on the door to block drafts pouring in every time someone came and went, it would be much more comfortable inside during the winter. It would also be nice if they turned the music down a notch or two. Free tinitus with every dine-in pizza is not a big sales feature.

Perfect little pies and coloring pages for the kids! Super friendly service ordering at the window. Any pizza can be made without cheese, but unfortunately the gluten free crust isn’t vegan, just fyi! Still 5 stars for the family & patio environment and a decent size house salad!

First time, I have found Santa Fe pizza too doughy, Dion's, Domino's ceasers. The online order was easy, the predicted time was accurate and the crust near perfect. Tastes like the quality ingredients they speak of on the website. I will return, thanks to all for a great experience.

Absolutely loved this place. We got the Christmas in May and it was aaaaaaamazing!!! Everyone is super friendly and food came out pretty quickly. Great way to end our trip to Santa Fe!

The pizza was delicious. The toppings were fresh and generous. The crust was crispy. The tap list had some great choices, and the service was great.

Delightful thin crust pizza. Like a well hydrated cracker. Came during early summer and the patio was a delight. Dog friendly for friendly dogs. Will return promptly.

This Pizza is known as the best pizza in Santa Fe for a reason. With its wood fired pizzas made with the toppings you want and a crust covered with corn meal, it is delicious and unique. The lemonade was very good and made in-house. Sitting outdoors in the shade was also very pleasant. Though a but out of the way, it is definitely worth finding this place.

Loved the pizza, the cesar salad and the atmosphere! Me and my husband didn't know they bring the food out to you. They also have water bowls for your pets! And the gentlemen that delivered the food was so sweet and friendly! Me and my husband live in alburquerque and we will definitely make our way out there just to eat there food! 🥰🥰

Stopped by today to grab some pesto cheese rolls for a road snack and was extremely disappointed. What use to be a nice shareable appetizer turned out to be a 3 bite item with little to no cheese and thin tasteless dough. On top of that the almost 30 minute wait (double what we were told) was disappointing for what we received. Everyone has an off day but the last few times have been disappointing and unimpressive. Seems like quality and service has gone to the wayside. There are other better options around Santa Fe for sure.
