It's perfectly situated to watch the summer sunset from! P.S. You don't have to climb up it. You can just drive to the parking lot at the top, instead, and walk down a fairly gentle incline about 5 minutes to get to it. No bathrooms. View, cross, a few informational plaques. Also atop the hill along the same path to the cross are the ruins of Fort Marcy (very little left), also with signs, and worth a quick stop to marvel at how old they are! If this review was helpful to you, I'd appreciate a quick like or follow! Thank you!

This was a perfect sunrise location! It was so gorgeous. It took me a few drive arounds to realize where to park, but I went up above it and walked back since the ground was not opened for cars for sunrise. It was really beautiful. No one was out there, and there was enough litter for me to wonder if there was homeless sleeping around it, so I only walked in for a minute.

We walked from the bottom to the very top. It has a nice view overlooking the Santa Fe city. It was a comfortable walk, and you are rewarded with a nice view. Since the cellphone tower is in your line of sight, the internet speed was very fast. I performed a speed test, and I have a download speed of nearly 200mbps.

If you don't mind a lot of stairs rewarded by a panoramic view of the city...this is your place. It's free. Try at sunset.

Start at the bottom and walk your way up, along the way you will find plaques with interesting facts. You need to read them as you continue to make your way. The views are spectacular and the wildflowers are a complete surprise. Definitely a great 1/2 hour stop.

This informative, short hike illuminates the history of Santa Fe. A lot of folks go at sunset - but it was the perfect brisk morning walk before Pasqual’s was open. You get a great view of the city and an appreciation for the history.

Beautiful spot to see the sun set after a great day of siteseeing. There is a place to walk up from the street or you can go around to the Fort Marcy historical area and park. You can view the mountains in almost 360°-gorgeous!

We had the best time watching the sun set over Santa Fe and showing my out of town guests the multiple mountain ranges and ski areas you can see from the top. My first time here but won't be the last!

Best place to watch the sunset and see all of Santa Fe. There’s not really a place to park, so we just walked to it from downtown. The path leading up to the cross has a nice history of Santa Fe.

Very beautiful lookout. The hike is short but steep if parking in the south side. Parking in the north lot is a short and level walk. It was a cloudy sunset during our visit but I can only imagine how beautiful it is on a clear evening.

Good spot to view the city from. If you go early can catch sun rise from behind the mountains and then look and see the city brighten up.

Beautiful views of sun set of Sante Fe NM. Gorgeous. Bit of a walk up on paved trail but an easy quick walk. Worth while spot quick stop to watch sun go down.

Amazing city view and great at sunset. The street parking is free after 6. Is a hike up if parking at the bottom which was not a problem for our group. The history plaques were cool. Sunset with clouds would have been more spectacular than the cloudless night we went. The cross could be repainted, but normal wear from the weather. At sunset it can be a bit crowded but as the sun goes down the crowd disappears and we nearly had the starts to ourselves.

Always awesome. Excellent sunset views. An easy way to get a nice view of the city, convenient to downtown. If you’re on foot you can opt for the walking path which starts from Paseo de Peralta (be aware if you are not used to the city’s altitude, this could be considered a bit of a strenuous walk up despite being paved with ample switchbacks to get yourself up to the cross.) Alternatively go by car: drive around the eastern side, where there is free parking available in an official turn-around parking lot.

This is the perfect place to see all of Santa Fe. The views are awesome. Best place to watch a sunset! Take time to read the plaques as they tell an amazing story of the city of Santa Fe. A must place to visit!

The perfect place to catch a sunset in Santa Fe. You can take the. 25 mile hike up the hill or opt to drive up to the top, park your car, and walk towards the view. The hilltop is the site of an old fort so you can get a dose of history while admiring the view!

Very clean place! Parking there was very easy, and it had a nice view over part of the city! there are a lot of small ant piles, very clean tables for picnics (which my family had one), and a nice start ramp/stairs to walk down from.

Great location to see Old Town Santa Fe. The sunset view is spectacular. The history provided on the hike up is very informative.

Love sunsets? I have never experienced a sunset like those in Santa Fe. This was a beautiful place to hike to and watch the sunset. I also love history so I took the time to read the information plaques on the way up. Free activity!
