The moment I pulled into the parking area for The Inn of the Turquoise Bear I knew I had to stay there. I have lived in Albuquerque for over 60 years and have just become acquainted with this quintessential New Mexican bed and breakfast. I love the artistic and literary history of Santa Fe and this inn is steeped in it. Each room is an ode to a different historic writer or artist. We stayed in the Georgia O'Keeffe room. It was tastefully decorated with touches that brought forth her influences. It had a fireplace, a sitting area and the most comfortable bed. The courtyard gardens are an oasis; the hammock and furniture an invitation to stay in place. However, the inn is conveniently located to explore downtown, the plaza, shops and galleries. Breakfast, which alternates between sweet and savory every other day, was delicious and made to order. We had interesting conversations with the hosts who had communicated several times before we arrived to let us know what to expect, what was going on in the community and to see is we had any specific requests or needs. We will definitely be going back. I can't wait to experience more rooms!

We recently stayed six nights at Inn of the Turquoise Bear and must say I was thoroughly impressed. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that attention to detail is a priority for the staff at this hotel. We were greeted warmly by Dan and his friendly staff who showed us to our room and provided us with all the information we needed. The room itself was clean, cozy and inviting - it felt like a home away from home. Comfortable bed, cozy sheets, and great pillows What really stood out during our stay here was the breakfast served each morning. The food was creative, delicious and made with love. We found ourselves lingering around the communal breakfast table where we met many wonderful people from all walks of life - it's certainly a great place to make new friends! The service provided by Dan and his team throughout our stay exceeded all expectations; they went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, had everything that we needed, and even made sure to check in on us regularly to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. It's clear that they take great pride in their work and are devoted to providing guests with an exceptional experience. The location was perfect. Very quiet at night, and we walked every evening to the incredible selection of restaurants (a lot of stuff within a 1.5 mile radius). The staff had up-to-date suggestions on where to eat and drink. Also, thank you for loaning me your precision screwdrivers to fix my pocket knife...

Super cute, well maintained historic building! Very accommodating and friendly staff, will give you advice on the best restaurants and places to visit! They customized breakfast for my vegan husband, and food was always freshly cooked, different each day (with smoothies!), and delicious (even my husband's vegan dish!) !! Lots of snacks, coffee, and homemade cookies during the day. I love that it wasn't downtown. Very quiet, In walking distance of most things. Also very spacious and clean rooms. We loved our stay there! If there are any problems with the room, they will quickly fix. Only one of the rooms fits 3 people, we were lucky to have booked it! Great for couples or couples visiting with an older child or friend.

This is the cutest little inn/bed and breakfast. The hosts were so welcoming and left bowls and treats for my dog in our room. Each morning they have a special breakfast spread for the guests which were so yummy both days. The inn is located within walking distance to the downtown. Also in the afternoon the hosts set up a little snack/dessert with wine in the lobby. I recommend this to anyone staying in Santa Fe we had so much fun!

We have traveled to New Mexico before and this place is by far my favorite and we will absolutely come again next time weโ€™re in the area. The room and grounds were incredible and the service was too, amazing breakfast everyday with multiple snacks offered all day long and a microwave, mini fridge, and Keurig available to guests 24/7. The place is also the most dog friendly place we have ever been, they treated our dog so well and were so welcoming to her. The location is fantastic for Santa Fe too, itโ€™s very walkable, close enough to the central plaza to walk easily but down the street enough where driving in and out is not a headache. This place was literally perfect and I wish I could give it more than 5 stars.

Our stay was perfect in every way. Dan is a very thoughtful person and it's obvious he's spent a lot of time making sure every detail here comes together to make your stay unforgettable. The breakfast was incredible and the menu varied, so even when staying here 5 days we never tired of it and looked forward to seeing the menu posted for the following day. They do a great job showcasing the rich history of the property and it's very interesting and really is iconic Santa Fe as they say. Even in February, the grounds are beautiful. We'll be planning on coming back in the spring or summer to see what everything looks like in full bloom. We've stayed at other bed and breakfasts before, but this one blew our expectations out of the water. It was truly an amazing, one of a kind place that we won't soon forget.

My wife and I spent a day in Santa Fe as part of a trip to see family, and were lucky to have been able to stay at the Inn of the T.B. We had the Witter Bynner room. It is beautifully decorated---even nicer than the photos on the website, thanks to a few additions. The bed was extremely comfortable. If we had stayed longer the in-room fridge (also not in the photos on the website) would have been handy. And breakfast was not to be missed. I am serious, you *must* have their breakfast. We enjoyed the views from the porch-top balcony. It was too cool and windy to spend much time there, but I could imagine hanging out there all day in different weather. There were sheltered spots on the grounds which were fine for lounging with a book. There are some excellent food trucks just a couple of blocks to the north, in a parking lot off Old Santa Fe, if you need a snack after walking around the Plaza. Finally, thanks to Innkeepers for their hospitality. We hope to be back!

Everything about the Inn of the Turquoise Bear is magical! I visited the Inn with my parents. They stayed in the Willa Cather casita and I stayed in the O. Henry room. Both rooms were charming, clean, and comfortable. The Inn is incredibly tranquil and beautiful! There are plenty of places to sit and relax amongst the trees and gardens (I especially loved the hammocks!). We spent a lot of time in the back courtyard area because it was just so cozy! The Innkeepers, Dan and Alex, are wonderful! We had great conversations with both of them. The breakfasts they served were delicious both days we were there. Everything is homemade and made to order. We felt spoiled the whole time we were there. We'll definitely be back in the future!

Wow, where to start. My entire experience here was fantastic from start to finish. The Inn itself is gorgeous, quiet, well furnished. I loved the history and the ambiance. The Innkeeper was so kind, he was helpful in suggesting a place to dine and what local attractions would be worth a visit. The breakfast was delicious! I am sad I only stayed for one night and look forward to another visit in the future. When I stayed here, I felt so comfortable and welcomed. I loved that my room had a small refrigerator, there was coffee and tea available as well as a microwave. And I also enjoyed the gardens and collection of books available. I highly recommend Inn of the Turquoise Bear.

The communications from the Inn are excellent. Each step of your vacay they are checking in with you. But the best partโ€ฆis just being here. The beautiful old town of Santa Fe gives this Inn a big hug. Walking the winding roads you are enveloped in the adobe culture. The gardens around the Inn are wild and charming. Each room has a distinct personality, just like itโ€™s namesake. The Innkeepers have thought of each comfy comfort that will help you feel welcome and well cared for. Toiletries, robes, coffee and cookies (whenever), technology galore, amazing breakfasts and charming guest chat at the communal dining table, comfortable and cozy living room, on and on. The walk to great restaurants and Canyon Rd art galleries is .5 - 1 mile away. Wonderful charming Inn.

Our experience at the Inn of the Turquoise Bear was exceptional. We found the Inn after extensive online searches for a small and private wedding venue in Santa Fe. We settled on it after reviewing their thoughtfully curated website, reading the outstanding reviews, and speaking with the owner, Dan, who graciously walked us through all the options and what our wedding could look like. We decided to rent out all 9 of their unique rooms for three days so we could include our closest friends and family. When we arrived at the Inn, we were blown away by the vibrant grounds and stunning Santa Fe architecture. Dan greeted us, and it was an absolute joy to be shown to each of our rooms personally. The rooms were impeccably clean, and the staff were the most hospitable of anywhere we have ever stayed. In addition to being the most charming place we've ever been, the Inn boasts some of the best breakfasts our party has ever had. When it came time for our wedding ceremony, the Inn had everything organized down to the details and we had all we needed for a stress free intimate ceremony. Alex was the perfect officiant and ensured the day ran smoothly. After the ceremony, our party walked downtown to enjoy a reception dinner. The Inn's close proximity to the downtown area made our stay even more enjoyable throughout, as we could walk to almost all that Santa Fe has to offer with ease. The Inn of the Turquoise Bear was the perfect setting for our wedding; we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful venue, helpful staff, and unique experience. A month later, we're still hearing from our guests about how perfect everything was. We hope to be able to return to the best little inn in the land of enchantment soon.

This was our second trip to Santa Fe, and our second stay at the Inn of the Turquoise Bear. Both stays have been memorable. The Inn itself is remarkable, full of history and character. The grounds are as pretty and inviting in person as they look in the pictures. The owner, Dan, and the innkeeper, Alex, are fantastic hosts. They go out of their way to make sure you have what you not only need, but also what you want to make your stay more comfortable. The rooms are large and well furnished, with comfortable beds and sitting areas, and frankly, the patio seating is so relaxing that I didn't feel like leaving the property to explore the town. I cannot wait to return for another stay.

What a beautiful Inn! Hospitality was amazing and the room we stayed in was soooo cool. Very pet friendly with a minimal pet fee, and our room had dog bowls and beds with special treats inside, ready to go. The breakfast was super tasty and the grounds, although covered in snow, were lovely. The location was ideal for getting to the cool galleries and shops downtown. The owners allowed an early check in and a spot for us to park our small teardrop trailer for the night. Canโ€™t get much more hospitable than that! We will definitely be staying here if we are ever in Santa Fe in the future.

We just spent four nights at this wonderful, historic inn - filled with much local, Adobe charm. Our guest room as well as the common spaces and property were extremely lovely and well cared for. The breakfasts, afternoon treats, and all-day nibbles were fantastic. We truly enjoyed the meals and the many complimentary offerings, such as soft drinks and sparkling waters, coffee/tea, cookies, trail mix, cracker jacks, macaroons, string cheese, and a variety of charcuterie plates - all inclusive! The innkeepers and staff were engaging and really interested in pleasing their guests. It was a pleasure meeting them all. The inn is located just a short stroll from the plaza / center of town that is filled with impressive restaurants, galleries and shops. We didn't have enough time to visit them all, but very much enjoyed what we experienced. Thank you Dan, Alex and the "Bear Team" for a wonderful stay. We look forward to visiting again soon! Best, Marco and Angelo

This charming and gracious inn was the perfect choice for our first visit to Santa Fe. We felt completely welcomed and at home, and appreciated all of the thoughtful attention to our comfort as guests. There is something magical about this historic property, which has been lovingly restored and maintained. Our suite (Ansel Adams) was private and comfortable, and we enjoyed the gourmet breakfast each morning, as well as meeting other guests, in the beautiful communal dining room. Thank you to Dan, Alex, Caitlin and their team for anticipating everything to make our stay in Santa Fe perfect!

We had an incredible stay here and we highly, highly recommend. My fiancรฉ and I got engaged at the inn last May, and it was the perfect setting for an engagement weekend. The gardens and rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and the location is perfect-walking distance to downtown but just far enough out to be peaceful and quiet. The breakfasts are to die for, everything was so delicious. Dan, Alex and the entire team made our engagement weekend so special and we can't wait to come back next time we are in Santa Fe.

The folks running the inn provide excellent and artful service that contributes to an above and beyond experience that's both efficient and meaningful. From check-in to breakfast the next morning.... everything speaks for itself. It's simply a wonderful place to just BE - and from which to explore anything and everything Santa Fe.

Overall our stay was amazing! My husband and I decided to take a little getaway to spend quality time together and do not regret it one bit! The variety of chocolates that were in the room when we arrived were delicious as well as the water bottles that we took around with us everywhere and the roses were such nice details! The hosts were so amazing and welcoming, paid attention to every small detail and the breakfast was so delicious! I'm usually not a fan of trying new things but I sure took a step out of my comfort zone and tried their oatmeal and avocado toast with kimchi which tasted great! The room we stayed in was very spacious and definitely felt like home! It was very warm when we arrived which was perfect because we arrived later at night and it was very cold out. My husband and I will definitely be doing this every year, it was an amazing experience for the both of us! โ™ก

Fabulous! We just checked out yesterday after spending 2 nights at the Inn for my birthday and this morning I booked another 2 nights - in a different room - for my husband's birthday next month. Dan attends to every little detail - from food restrictions to setting your room heater to your ideal temperature before arrival. We loved the breakfasts, the history of the Inn, the beauty of the grounds, and we were happy to discover that it's an easy walk from the Inn to the galleries on Canyon Road and to several excellent restaurants. Can't wait to return!

This b&b left no detail unaddressed. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomely hosted at this historic property. The innkeeper waited to greet us upon arrival and walked us through the home, sharing the history, and to our room where he carried our bags up and handed us the key. Inside the room were walls filled with books ( DH Lawrence is the namesake of the room, and stayed at the inn) , and a pre set fireplace that we lit immediately. In the morning we were served a full breakfast at the community table where we met people from all over the world. One couple had been back to the inn enough times to stay in all 9 rooms. We were given a map of local spots to eat and visit, and when we returned from our day were greeted with warm cookies and cider. The hospitality of this quaint inn had me planning our next visit before we left. It was a perfect place to reflect and gather inspiration, we will be back soon.

Do yourself a favor and make this the only place you stay in Santa Fe. Absolutely wonderful, friendly, helpful, and welcoming staff. The breakfasts are unreal good. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the location is excellent- just a 10-15 minute easy and pretty walk to the Plaza. We loved it and can't wait to go back!

What a dream it was to stay here. From the moment we were greeted, it felt like home. The attention to detail throughout the inn is spectacular. Every time we walked through, we discovered something magical. But the most magical of all was Alex's homemade apricot tart that he made from the fruit on the property. That alone was worth the trip to Santa Fe!

Fabulous inn located in the heart of Santa Fe. Innkeeper was a delight. Awesome rooms, gorgeous grounds including lots of outdoor seating, hammocks etc. Clean, well kept and just a great place! Plenty of parking on site - easy walk into the town center. Food was great. Lot's of nice little extras from the 24/7 treats, drinks etc.

Beautiful setting and wonderful service. It was the perfect venue for our elopement with family. The grounds are so peaceful and the location is amazingly convenient for so many things. Our room was clean, spacious and authentically Santa Fe. We wouldnt change anything about our stay.

A memorable stay - extremely dog friendly (treats, a bed and bowls in the room were so appreciated, delicious breakfast, outstanding service (especially the texting service for check in and out), one of a kind room, and a magical fireplace!

My partner and I originally planned to elope in November at the Inn, but due to covid had to postpone. Dan was super understanding and we were able to rebook our stay for Valentine's week without a hassle. What a dream of a place. The ambiance was incredibly romantic, the spaces honored their interesting history, the food was the highlight of our days, and Dan and his team were warm, approachable, yet top-notch professional. We loved all of the little details, from the afternoon baked goods to the tea bar - it's clear a lot of thought is put into creating a lovely experience for guests. Hands down would stay at Inn of the Turquoise Bear again, no doubt. PS, the sopes with eggs breakfast and the chocolate toffee cookies were awesome!
