This was such an amazing wonderful charming place to stay! I highly recommend. Breakfast was so good with lots of variety and amazing lattes! The rooms are big and cozy and each one is unique with its own character. You are just a five minute walk from down town, and the property is beautiful to walk around and explore all the art, sculptures and fountains. The staff is wonderful and always going the extra mile. If you have a chance to be in Santa Fe you must try to stay at Las Palomas!!!!

Please read all the negative reviews before considering booking. The area is not really in town and the surrounding streets are a little dodgy/run down. Lobby was uninviting and looked like an old motel. Then when we got to our room, we walked into an OCCUPIED ROOM. We were so shocked and taken aback yet the front desk was not even sorry or shocked with us that they messed up this badly. We left and booked another inn. We are still waiting for our refund. Horrible experience and do not recommend to anyone.

What an incredible place to stay while visiting Santa Fe! Las palomas is perfectly located close enough to walk to the plaza in Santa Fe where all the shops and restaurants are, but far enough to not have to deal with loud noise, traffic etc! We loved staying here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient, clean, safe place to stay in Santa Fe! The price was fair for our room, and the breakfast (which was included) was really really good! I loved that they had free coffee every morning! Cannot wait to stay here again

We love this place. The staff are super sweet and welcoming. The rooms are spread across multiple buildings and are big casitas in the Pueblo style. Our room was very large and would be great for a long stay. It’s very close to many bars and restaurants but the on-site breakfast is superb. The bed is very comfortable too. The towels are a bit scratchy but that’s about the only negative thing I can say. I highly recommend this place and will certainly return.

I attend school in Texas and make the drive back to California every summer and winter for break. I've always stopped at Las Palomas and have loved my stay every time! The hotel is quiet and has security cameras in the parking lots, and some of the rooms have kitchens-there is a Sprouts and a Trader Joe's right down the road to get groceries too. The staff always has treat bags available for my dog and they are always so kind and helpful, it's a great place to land after a long trip! You have pretty much anything you need right at the hotel: gym, espresso drinks, dining room, etc. Highly recommend, this is my first choice hotel for whenever I stay in Santa Fe.

We love it here! Charming pueblo-style casitas with fireplace, amazing made to order breakfast, friendly staff, and a short walk into town. Start off every morning in their charming restaurant with a tree in the middle, or outside on the patio. Fresh fruit and baked goods on a buffet plus a nice menu of made to order breakfasts and specialty coffees. Very charming and warm ambiance.

Unique place. Parking is an issue. Front door deadbolt didn't lock. Requested service to empty trash and they said had to be 24 hour notice. Which was fine, but didn't show up next day either. So our trash piled up with 2 little garbage cans. Lit a fire which was nice but as we let it end completely filled the room with smoke.

The photos are wonderful, however overall we had a marginal experience. The email confirming our room quoted $249 per night, however the actual room rate with all fees was $303 per night. No mention of the nightly historical fee. Happy to pay it, but it needs to be disclosed up front. The website said all rooms have an in-room safe, however our room did not have one and no central safe option was available. The photos showed rooms with fireplaces, however when we checked in, no fires were allowed. We were told there would be no housekeeping services unless we requested them 24 hours in advance. Our room was a casita, and yes these are historical buildings, however we could hear every word of our neighbors and every sound from their bathrooms. Overall, it was a very noisy experience, and not the charming one we had hoped for as reflected by photos of the resort. My family has traveled to Santa Fe many times over the past 30 years, and we are aware of the history and nuances of the city different. Having said that, we would not recommend Las Palomas.

Just a great place for a number of reasons: first of all the rooms, cozy and clean, furnished in New Mexican style, just tempting you to not enjoy the experience of Santa Fe to stay "home". At winter you can also enjoy a fireplace. The Hotel is a sort of "distributed one, with rooms scattered in a small neighborhood, giving you the idea to be in a village where the lobby is the main square (always classic music on the background). Arriving they give you a map of the place helping you to find your room. In case of elders I can only guess, but I think they can provide some help to move the luggage. Breakfast is OK, with a menu with a good choice of food prepared at the moment (plus). Good position just a couple of blocks away from the historical center.

Will never stay anywhere else in Santa Fe—I’ve stayed in 5 star hotels with a quarter of the service, space and charm of Las Palomas for about five times the cost. We couldn’t have been happier or more impressed with the cleanliness (our room smells amazing), spaciousness, privacy, charm, and comfort of our accommodations, including a kitchenette, bathtub, fireplace, outdoor area, laundry and gym access, and huge, comfortable bed. The staff is incredibly helpful, kind, and accommodating, the morning breakfast and coffee is delicious, and the hotel is centrally located and in perfect walking distance to the downtown plaza and its many bars, restaurants, and shops while also feeling ultra-secure, private, and home-y. Our short stay here in Santa Fe has been utterly relaxing and magical and we can’t wait to come back to Las Palomas—we are traveling with our Labrador and are so impressed by the comfort and graciousness displayed not only to us, but to her too! We love Las Palomas and can’t wait for our next stay here.

What more can I say, rooms, service, location all 5 Star. Quiet area with primarily elderly guests who seek similar venues and did their homwork first. Free breakfast cooked to order and all the free espresso you can handle each morning. We booked rooms for several nights both coming and going and were never disappointed. 5 Thumbs Up!

We stayed here 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it! It's quiet, peaceful, staff is very attentive, it's close to the Plaza and great restaurants, all within walking distance. Yeah, we had a great stay!

Nothing but a wonderful experience. Highly recommend even just for a staycation. Bring a bike and your dog for this one. Be ready to explore the town with ease. Another hidden gem of Santa Fe

The rooms were dated and far from perfect. There were cracks and dents and an overall lived-in feel. AND, I would absolutely go back here. The service was over-the-top wonderful. From the moment we checked in to the moment we left. (We even heard them navigating a challenging customer on the phone and they handled it kindly and professionally. Then a staff member was loading a lady's car who needed assistance - seriously.) We were early to check in and they accommodated us. Excellent breakfast. Great snacks (ice cream is worth it). Great coffee. Clean. Fantastic location. If you are willing to give up some fanciness for exceptional service - this’ll be your place!

Can't say enough good things about the Las Palomas Resort. Beautiful grounds and charming decorations throughout the property. The Staff are very friendly and accommodating, and the casita we had was perfect! Of particular note was the complementary breakfast. Specialty coffees and a delicious food selection that rivaled other restaurants. The folks who made the coffee and food were extremely friendly and helpful. Our only disappointment was the lack of tips by other guests who apparently felt they were entitled - come on people, get up off $5 for these great cooks and servers!

Very cool hotel. Each room is like it's own little home. Ours even had a little stream along the outside of the room! I read most of the previous negative reviews and while I would say that you can call the room a little outdated, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable, which was another common complaint. I will definitely try to stay here again when visiting Santa Fe.

Got in late at night. The gentleman helping me at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. The room was gorgeous and had a cozy home feel. I woke up feeling refreshed and headed to the lobby for a gourmet made-to-order hot breakfast and espresso bar. I’ll definitely be staying again.

This place could be so much better. I wish everyone who loved their rooms would say which rooms they were in. We were in Fireplace Super Casita 40 for three nights. The Entry - the railing on the stairs is too low. There was a garbage can on the deck that was still full of the previous guests' food garbage. The living room - the pilot light to the fireplace was on, but it was unplugged. It was too warm. I called the front desk because the remote would not turn it off. Oscar tried plugging in the fireplace and that enabled the remote to work. The tv is mounted way too high on the wall for it to be comfortable viewing for anyone. We watched the baseball playoffs. Our first night the remote/tv went crazy. The volume went to 100 on its own and could not be controlled. We called the front desk and after more than an hour the problem was resolved with finding us a new remote. The kitchen - there is not dish drainer and no dish towels. There is an oven and stove, but no pans that you could actually put into an oven. There were packets of coffee, but only decaf. Bathroom - there was an over-the-door multi-hook metal thing that had to be removed to get the bathroom door to shut. There was a weird and very dangerous narrow step to get in an out of the shower. both of us nearly fell getting out of the shower. The glass partition is inadequate to keep water from soaking the floor/bathmat. There was a semicircle hole in the tile floor next to one wall about the size of a half dollar that seemed to lead under the casita. Cold air came through it. Bedroom - There were two west-facing windows that were properly blinded and shaded. There was a south-facing window outside of which was a bright three globe lamp post. That window had only a canvas roman blind and the light coming through it at night was quite bright. Our bed was comfortable. When the night manager (?) was dealing with our tv/remote volume issue I asked about getting regular coffee and about the missing bath robes (They advertise bath robes in every room) For both of these things he said they had run out and that we would receive them "tomorrow". We never did. The breakfast was pretty good. We only tried the burrito and the cinnamon roll. The burrito was fine; the cinnamon roll was stale. The indoor area for eating was stuffy - needed an open window. I really think the owners should spend the night in each of their rooms and see what it is really like. I thought I was splurging for a really special treat for my husband and me. It was really disappointing. I would not stay here again.

We stayed only one night, but absolutely loved it. The staff was more than accommodating and so kind. The rooms was perfect and the bed and pillows were comfortable. Next time I am in town, I will stay again and wake earlier enough for breakfast.

What a wonderful place! The rooms are all Southwest décor, very comfortable and well maintained. The staff is extraordinarily helpful and always cheerful. The made-to-order breakfast is very welcome and always quite good. Overall, there is no reason to stay anywhere else in Santa Fe.

An artistic Heaven tucked near Old Town Santa Fe, if you are staying here expect nothing less than the kindest and most genuine service I have ever experienced. Breakfast being included is the utmost biggest perk here and the freshly cooked hot meals really help you get your day started off right. Each room is so articulately decorated with hints of Santa Fe and New Mexico, having seen both our room and my brothers room. Don’t be afraid to ask the staff for suggestions and they will be so helpful. Art is hidden in every nook and cranny of this place and you feel like you are in your own oasis. If you are traveling with a dog, they are dog friendly! We can’t wait to return to Las Paloma’s. Thank you to Neil, Steve and the LP staff for providing the most warm and thoughtful experience that I have had a hotel ❤️

Okay. First off, this is NOT a 5-star resort with all the amenities. It's a small, older, very secluded place with bungalows. It is built in an Old New Mexican style. The people were friendly, and the room was clean. The free breakfast was good. The afternoon fresh-baked cookies were awesome! It's a very quiet and relaxing place. We highly recommend it. It's perfectly located on the edge of Old Town Santa Fe.

I stayed at this hotel about 11 years ago while on business and loved it so much that I wanted to bring my husband the next time I was in Santa Fe. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. The room issued to us was suppose to be a Super Casita, the most expensive room with a wood burning fireplace, instead we have a room that looks worse than a dirty filthy neglected basement. Room 33 is awful!!! Tons of gunky black hair is clogging the tub drain which is missing the drain stopper. The bath tub is stained with rust and is disgusting. Pubic hair is on a towels. The walls look like they're are crumbling. When I requested another room similar to what I rented in the past, the front desk was going to allow us to move to a room identical to the dump we were in, rm 35. Omg... I could go on, but I think you get the point. If we weren't so exhausted from traveling all day, we would have just left. All for the price of $275+ a night. Don't waste your money!

Had an awesome stay last night. Very quaint and cozy bugalow type of rooms. I had the king size bed room with a kitchen. Very spacious and clean. Breakfast was available but I had to get back on the road. Very close to downtown Santa Fe and restaurants. Checkin was a breeze. Staff and management were incredible.

Im in Santa Fe for business on a regular basis and stay at Las Palomas exclusively. First off, the service is top notch- friendly, they have smiles on their face and helpful. Second, it doesn't feel like you're staying at hotel, it's almost like you're in a home- very comfortable, clean, and private. Third- everything else. They serve a real made to order breakfast, it's delicious and complementary. Location is great. Walking distance to pretty much everything downtown. See you next time Las Palomas!

We LOVED our long weekend at Las Palomas! The room was cozy with the fireplace, and had everything we needed. The layout of the hotel is so unique and has tons of special Santa Fe touches. Breakfast and the coffee bar were both above expectation. All of the staff we interacted with were incredibly pleasant. 5/5 would recommend and can't wait to come again!

The hotel is within walking distance to downtown Santa Fe, but we'll stay somewhere else and drive in next time. We stayed at Las Palomas twice now. The first time was nice, but it was 9 years ago. We just got back and sadly the rooms are now shabby and old. Yes, this is a historic building (which they charge you a history fee per night to stay), but historic does not need to be broken and stained. Also, we requested a fireplace room with wood burning, but the room we had only had a broken (never could get it to work) time wall gas fireplace. The folks checking in before us also didn't get what they asked for!! Sadly, the place need a complete refurbishing in order to charge what they do per night.

What happened? We used to stay here all the time. This time - the front desk could not have been less interested in being helpful or courteous. We thought we were paying for a little Santa Fe charm - our room (16) certainly didn't look like the photos ! Could have done better at La Quinta and saved $300. Won't be back

We liked this hotel a lot. Very easy to walk to the square and the downtown museums. Room was super clean and the staff friendly and helpful. We came for the opera and it was an easy in and out to get there. Highly recommend this hotel. We will stay here again the next time in Santa Fe.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Look at other one star reviews about security. Neighborhood is run down and scary with graffiti covered walls all around. Even pulling into the little access driveway to the hotel felt creepy. I pulled up and immediately knew that as a woman traveling alone I would not feel safe staying here. The hotel refused to refund any of my money, citing their 48 hour cancellation policy. I stayed at the Drury plaza hotel instead and was so glad I did. It’s $20-$30 a night more and night and day difference in what the facilities offer. I never write negative reviews but if I could give this place less than one star I would.

Great place to stay, convenient to everything in Santa Fe. Entire staff, especially Noah was great. Wonderful made to order breakfast every morning, juice available all day and fresh baked cookies available every afternoon. The rooms are old so don't expect them to be perfect but each one is unique and charming.

  • 5/5 kathy a. 1 year ago on Google
I have stayed at Las Palomas several times over the years and enjoyed each experience. This review is to praise Noah at the front desk. My son and his girlfriend became engaged last night and were due to check in at Las Palomas today. I called the hotel and Noah answered. I asked if there was a 'congratulations' perk that could be sent to the happy couple. He was friendly and accommodating, sharing that he could certainly assemble a basket of snacks and deliver it to the room. I received a picture from my son showing that Noah left a bottle of Korbel, a basket of snacks and a congratulations card. This gesture is so appreciated and generous. Customer service of this caliber can be difficult to find and deserves to be noted!

I'm giving this hotel 4 stars for one reason - our room was noisy, particularly at night. You could hear our and other rooms' AC units kicking in. Also, the rooms could use some upgrading, but it wasn't too bad. That takes one star from my rating. Now for the good - the hotel is very pleasant, the location is very convenient (about half a mile from the Plaza), and having free breakfast (with great cappuccino!) and parking is definitely a plus in Santa Fe. Last but not least, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. And free warm cookies in the afternoon was obviously a nice touch. If (when) we go back, we are staying there again.

  • 3/5 Denise K. 1 year ago on Google
Pros: Price was fair for a summer rate. The breakfast was excellent! The location was great (4 blocks from Plaza). Overall look of place was good. Cons: Our particular room could have used an upgrade in bedroom area. The bathroom had been updated which was a plus. My biggest complaint was it could have been cleaner, for example clean the dust off the bathroom door and heat register. I know hiring help is difficult in these times but a little more effort would be appreciated. I would probably stay there again and hope for a little nicer room (they have many).

This is a great place to stay in Santa Fe if you want to soak in the Southwestern vibe in a historical adobe lodging that feels cozy and casual. There was good FREE breakfast in a very inviting Southwestern decorated indoor outdoor area near the office. Our studio room (53) was very clean, cozy had microwave, fridge, fireplace, sitting area, a patio, shower/tub, high products for hair, body, pretty SW details. We loved it. Staff is so helpful and friendly! Great if you value an authentic experience in historical lodgings.

All I can say is Wow! Location, Service, Room, Little Courtyard! Everyone raves about the breakfast and they are right! The fellow at the front desk was incredible and kind upon our arrival after a long day of driving. We posted our pics on Facebook, and our friends loved them. We will be back, so thank you! Don't hesitate in booking this unique experience!

This is a quaint set of properties that occupy such tight spaces it defies physics. Parking is exciting depending on which section you stay in. Most rooms have kitchenettes but some don't so ask ahead so you aren't surprised to find you don't. Front desk staff are a true delight and helpful, as are the breakfast service folks. This is an older property so you get refitted spaces, not a true right angle anywhere and sloping flooring. This is old school "real" Santa Fe so if unique irks you please go to the Hilton or something. We greatly enjoyed the fireplace in our room and the property is very quiet except the buildings make a lot of odd settling noises during the night. Ours tapped Morse code from about 5 to 7 am. Rooms are divided by charming paths and patios with whimsical art touches throughout. Not even remotely handicap accessible, be warned. It's a bit of a risk if you are at all clumsy/unsteady, lots of uneven surfaces, sloped parking lots, etc. Not good if you stagger back inebriated from Vanessie.

Our room was unique, spacious and the king bed was very comfortable. Disappointed to find a broken bathroom door and a broken window louvre. And, the staff were not rude but didn’t make any effort to be friendly. The breakfast was very good- great coffee! Considering the cost to stay here we expected this to be a 4-5 star experience.
