A too short weekend stay made us Inn of the Governors fans for life! After a very rude experience attempting to book at our previous favorite (and very expensive) hotel in SF, I called Inn of the Governors and was greeted cheerfully, booked the nights we wanted, discussed available rooms and amenities (free parking, free breakfasts, $15 discount in restaurant). On arrival our room was spotless and very large and comfortable. We enjoyed the balcony and the sunsets. We really felt we were in Santa Fe. Every staff member was friendly, helpful and fun, from the desk, housekeepers, doorman and the restaurant staff. The welcome gift of sherry, fruit and nuts and cookies was a treat. Breakfast on chilly mornings in front of a roaring fire..delicious! Food at lunch was also excellent. The hotel was an easy walk to most place we wanted to visit and the blooming trees outside lifted our spirits. Really folks...just go! Can't wait to return.

Great customer service. I thought I had made a reservation, but when I arrived, there wasn't one. Ken (front desk) and Deb ( reservation fairy wand holder) were able to get us a room on a very busy Saturday night. Thanks folks, I'm grateful. They also have a great bar and restaurant on site with delicious food and drinks. And it's close to everything we wanted to see. Great place, thanks again for the hospitality.

This hotel is truly a hidden gem! From its great location to its charming rooms and the wonderful service to its affordability, it is the perfect place to stay in Santa Fe. There is so much attention to detail. It is extremely clean, and they provided a robe and the extra luxury of a make up mirror! The food in the restaurant is outstanding, and if you’re around in the afternoon at 4:00, you’ll be offered, sherry,, hot tea, cocoa, and Biscochitos. It’s location is outstanding. I was able to walk to everything! As a female, traveling alone, I felt very safe and comfortable here. I literally can’t say enough good things about it!

We stayed for two nights at the Inn and highly recommend the place. The rooms are well maintained and furnished. We appreciated the fairly silent a/c and comfortable beds. Breakfast in the Del Charro was included and it was excellent with a selection of made-to-order plates! Enjoyed the heated pool only once because it rained most of the time. We were challenged parking our large rental SUV where most of the spaces are rather small, but we were helped to a large space. Overall staff were really helpful. And of course the location close to the plaza can't be beat.

I’m from out of town. And this place has the rudest most disgusting person I have ever run into. He was either the night auditor or manager. His name is Trinidad. My phone died after eating at Del charro earlier. They closed. And I asked if I could wait to charge my phone at inn of the governors. it was 30 something degrees outside. But this man said I had to leave. Thank god I was able to get back to where I was staying.

Great downtown location. Hotel staff and Del Charro staff were all so lovely. Free breakfast for guests was delicious. Pool was a big plus. Would absolutely come back.

Excellent customer service, from the time of making a reservation to checking in. I enjoyed the sherry, cookies, etc welcome gift, a nice touch. My room was clean, comfortable bed, well stocked conveniently at anytime wood, for your fireplace, which is one of the main reasons I stayed at this nice hotel. It’s also nice to have a refrigerator, microwave & coffee machine in your room, even though they give an excellent hot freshly made breakfast of your choice. The restaurant and bar is good also but the hotel is located in the heart of everywhere that one would like to walk to visit or try any of the other many restaurant/bars around. I got to the hotel early & Bee checked me in, Thank-you. I’ll definitely be staying here next time I visit.

The staff was wonderful, very friendly and attentive but not overbearing. The bed was super comfortable. The room was clean, the bathroom is dated but it works well and fits the room and decor. They even have a special secure storage room for bikes. We were most impressed by the number of repeat guests that we ran into. The saloon was very convenient for a late night dinner.

This is THE place to stay in Santa Fe. James, our concierge was warm, friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome...he wouldn't even let us help load or luggage onto the bellhop from our vehicle and brought it to our room for us. Needless to say, the hotel staff will make you feel at home as well as treating you like a V.I.P. guest. The rooms are cozy and clean, and a lot more comfortable than any other hotels I've stayed in. They also have a cute, southwestern vibe which was a nice perk for us when we stayed a couple weeks ago. The complementary breakfast was delicious, nothing like the continental breakfasts you get at other hotels, and their restaurant for dinner was also really good. They made delicious cocktails that we ordered with our food. The pool area is beautiful and relaxing. The location is perfect for walking distance to all the downtown area has to offer. This will be my go-to hotel whenever I visit Santa fe in the future.

The staff was welcoming, the breakfast and restaurant were great…but the room was a negative experience. We were placed in the deluxe king room right over the garage where the noise of cars, the garbage dump, and the middle of the night drunk people made peace and relaxation impossible. If you stay there do not book in the governor’s wing facing the other hotels, road noise, and the late night workers.

We love to stay here when we are in Sante Fe. They are close to the Plaza (easy walk). Rooms are comfortable, and the staff are phenomenal. They have a sherry and tea get-together at 4 p.m. in the lobby, which I find enjoyable. The Del Charro restaurant is attached and they have killer margaritas and I love their New Mexico green chili burger.

TLDR: Perfectly located hotel with amazing service and great food at your fingertips. It’s clean and comfortable with a cozy rustic charm. The service here is top notch! My husband is a huge fan of Daniel at the front desk, and I personally spoke with Alberto when making reservations and he was very accommodating and professional. Without giving too much detail regarding my personal situation, all that I can say is, if you need anything/have specific concerns, just call ahead and the staff here will take great care of you. I’m thinking of having an annual retreat to Santa Fe just to relax here. Check out The in-house restaurant for great food until around 11 PM with no extra charge for room service. Fear not, I’m leaving a separate review for them! Walk around the corner to Coyote Café and Cantina, spend time at the nearby plaza where you can find locally made jewelry, or go visit the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum two blocks away! The entire time I was here I was met with a charm that is from a bygone era. Don’t even get me started on the daily social hour with sherry and cookies! Tip: Get there early and sit closer to the bar if you want to chat, or get there late and sit closer to the front desk if you’re feeling introverted. Either way, enjoy your stay!

Loved the people....very friendly...had sherry and visit with other visitors each evening. But did not like that linens...including towels...are only changed every 4 days! I do not reuse towels and washcloths at home, and for the price of the room, expect fresh towels daily if requested. Otherwise, Loved my stay...and will prob stay again next time in Santa Fe.

Pros: Great location, free parking, free afternoon sherry tasting, and fire place in selected rooms. Con: Rude front desk lady with long dark wavy hair was a super Karen. She had a very rude attitude as I expressed privacy concerns when she pressured me into sharing a lot of personal information. The Inn could have done a lot better in ensuring a pleasant stay.

It would be impossible to stay anywhere else in Santa Fe after our perfect weekend at Inn of the Governors! We stayed for three nights, and the staff (specifically James and Ken) went above and beyond to make sure my mom, my daughter (7), and I had a wonderful weekend. The location, breakfast, free parking, relaxing pool, and authentic decor only added to the experience. Even though we didn’t spend a considerable time at the hotel because Santa Fe has so much to offer, we really felt like we were coming home every evening!

Best service we have ever had at a hotel. James met us when we arrived, helped us park, helped with luggage, took us to our room, got ice for us, and even directed us to the best place to go for our evening walk! When we realized that we didn't have a microwave in the room to make hot tea, they offered to bring one up or we could order room service to bring it or go to the hotel restaurant.

This is a great hotel in the heart of Santa Fe. Most attractions are within a short walk from your room. The onsite restaurant is delicious (try their Hatch chile stuffed burger). All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. While the standard room is a little smaller than expected it was beautifully decorated, clean and cozy.

My wife and I absolutely loved our three night stay here. The breakfast is delicious and the staff are incredibly helpful, especially Sam at the front Desk. Mike was very welcoming when we arrived and helped us to our room as well. The hotel is one of the quietest I’ve stayed in. The beds are very comfortable and that is coming from a sleep diva. The plaza is a safe and short 3 minute walk away. We will be staying here again when we return for sure!

I’m from SC recently visited Sante Fe and stayed at the Inn. This place exceeds hospitality & comfort!! Greeted upon driving up to entrance and he told us exactly what to do! Let us know where our room was located and put a cone at the nearest parking spot to our room. After registering we were given a welcome gift complete with various sherry’s, cookies, & nuts!! Our room was exceptional!! Complimentary full breakfast that was cooked and served to perfection!! Each and every employee was friendly and helpful!! Will definitely recommend this place to everyone!!

Where to begin. The rooms super cute and comfy. The restaurant was amazing for breakfast. The green salsa was made exactly how my mom used to make it. I brought some back with me. The restaurant staff was amazing and I love their teamwork. The front desk was another story. They were rude, both at night and the morning, and when I asked questions it was like I was imposing on their day. Perfect location to walk to Loretto Chapel and the shops.

We stayed one night on a road trip to AZ. I chose this motel for the location and it was very convenient--we could walk to dinner and shops and not have to mess with parking. (The Inn parking spaces are very small, and pretty tight, so be prepared to do some maneuvering.) The room was clean and nicely decorated, not very big (we had a standard with 2 beds). They gave us a welcome tray with brandy and some assorted nuts and cookies, which was a nice touch. Everything in the room worked fine, no complaints there. Breakfast was free and cooked to order from a few options on the menu. This was nice compared to some of the breakfast buffets I've had other places, but I think they just roll the cost into the price of the room because it was expensive for a room that size with those amenities. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but it was more than I typically spend for a motel.

Stayed for 1 night. Excellent service from a friendly staff. The attached bar/restaurant had good drinks with excellent service. Very close to the Santa Fe Plaza. Parking is included. Will definitely be staying here for all of my future visits to Santa Fe.

Ideally located for walking around Old Santa Fe. Lovely welcome aperitifs, tastefully decorated rooms, active fireplaces in the restaurant. Delicious breakfast included. Friendly staff throughout. Free parking was a plus. We would love to come back here.

Pros: Really Friendly, helpful staff. Location is great Cons: PARKING LOT- spaces are EXTREMELY tight, basically no room to open doors once you’ve parked. ROOM- our room was not in the main building it and it was located right next to the entrance/exit. Would definitely put it more in the motel than hotel category. Could hear people coming in and out at all hours. Brown water was coming out of the faucets and toilet at one point. We were told that’s just how they get the water from the city and to let it run for a bit til it was clear. TV was pretty old and didn’t get a clear picture. While that’s not usually a big deal on vacation, everything closes pretty early so there’s not much else to do in the evening. The best thing about the room was the wood burning fireplace. This reservation was booked under my husbands name in early November. I would say if you’re staying for one night and have a compact vehicle it’s fine. However, for the price ? Definitely not worth it. I know this place older but I have stayed at another equally as old hotel/motel that is similarly priced but infinitely more comfortable all the way around.

This was our second stay at this wonderful hotel. From the minute you check in you feel happy. They greet you with a charcuterie tray and brandy to take to your room. In the very clean room there are robes, nice glass glasses and comfortable beds. The bar in the hotel is A+++ and the restaurant is a must. The location is the best and we wouldn’t go anywhere else!!
