This was the perfect place for our stay. We moved across the country and needed a dog-friendly place not too far off the highway. Pecos Trail Inn exceeded our expectations. ✅ Friendly staff (on the phone and check in) ✅ Spacious rooms ✅ Great margaritas at the restaurant on site ✅ Cute park next door ✅ Great water pressure in the shower (essential after a long drive) We hope to stay here again when we can stay for more than one night. We totally recommend you stay here!

I am so impressed. I was traveling for an emergency and this place really went above and beyond to make my stay wonderful. I felt like I was staying with family, the owners are such beautiful people. This experience was the only thing that brought me a little peace of mind during a very stressful time. I am so very grateful I found this place. The room was so clean, comfortable and cozy. I highly recommend this place and I look forward to another stay here next time I am in Santa Fe.

Looking for a great place to stay in Sante Fe and don’t want to blow the budget? Look no further than the Pecos Trail Inn. Our family of four (two small kids) made our way out on a 17 day road trip staying in multiple places and the Pecos Trail Inn was the best place we stayed. I’d give them 10 stars if I could. It is awesome. At the time of our stay the pool was closed but it will be open in the future and will be a great place to hang out and lounge. The story behind the inn and how the new owners are working hard to restore it is amazing. New owners Leah and Adam are incredible and they are welcoming from the time you arrive until the time you leave. They gave us so many great recommendations for places to eat and things to do. The rooms are exceptionally clean and I agree with the other reviewers that the beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept in (including my own). The hotels location is perfect for hitting the tourist hot spots (5 min drive away) or getting out to the countryside. We will certainly be returning to the inn in the very near future and look forward to seeing the continued work on the inn. The Pecos Trail Inn is a Santa Fe gem!!

Highly recommend! We had a great stay. When we checked in, Roger greeted us at the desk and he was super friendly and very helpful. We appreciated his knowledge of the area! This hotel is a great combination of retro charm and modern convenience. Our room was spacious, and spotlessly clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and I liked that the bedcovers included a light duvet, which made it easy to stay comfy during the night. The heating/cooling system in the room was the most modern one I've ever seen. It worked well, and it was so quiet I had to hold my hand in front of it to see that it was on! The area around the hotel is also quiet, so we had a good night's rest. Location was easy to access. And, the restaurant next door has delicious food! If you're looking for a place to stay in the Santa Fe area, you definitely can't go wrong here. :)

We stayed here in June 2022- just realized my review didn’t post. This hotel is awesome- beautiful architecture, comfortable beds and super-clean rooms. Great location and perfect for one night or a few while you explore Santa Fe. We will definitely be back next summer!

Very friendly staff and felt welcome upon arrival. Location is very close to the downtown area while still being quiet. It feels like a nice renovated motel which is quite worth it for the price paid. If I am to visit Santa Fe again it will be one of the places I consider staying at.

Pecos Trail Inn is amazing! We had driven from Glenwood Springs that day and wanted nothing more than to get a great night’s sleep in a clean room, and they delivered. No carpet, woo hoo!! Very convenient for food and only 15 minutes to some hot springs. I promise- take a chance on this super cute and clean inn and you won’t be disappointed.

Roger was so helpful. We arrived around 8:30pm. He called over to the restaurant to help us order food as they were closing soon. Room very clean, spacious. Great location! Restaurant staff was so nice and helpful. A must stay/eat if you are in Santa Fe.

Pecos Trail Inn is definitely a great find in Santa Fe! The rooms are spacious, immaculately clean and tastefully decorated. Beds and pillows are SUPER comfortable. The front desk staff are friendly and exceptionally helpful. Convenient location close to downtown. Would love to stay here again.

We loved our stay at the Pecos Trail Inn! Nostalgic Old route 66 motel renovated by new owners. Resurfaced and functioning pool with nice pool towels, chairs and decor. The rooms were super cute with all the conveniences. Perfect location a short drive from town, close to grocery store. Beautiful mountain views. The restaurant on site was really awesome as well! Great Mexican food and margaritas with live entertainment. It was a perfect romantic getaway. There were kids and dogs on wither side of us and I honestly could not hear them at all so the walls must be well-insulated. The man at the front desk was so nice and helpful as well. I would highly recommend to families or couples looking for a charming place close to town.

Our family stayed for 2 nights recently at the Pecos Trail Inn. We needed an affordable location for a last minute trip, and while I was initially nervous about the motel model, it ended up being absolutely wonderful! I hadn't stayed in a true motel in years, and being able to pull up directly to our room to unload and quickly access our car was an unexpected delight. The motel itself is darling! The rooms are modern and clean. The bed was super comfy and the A/C kept us cool at night. I spoke with 3 different employees over our stay, and each was incredibly friendly and helpful. Our kids begged to swim in their gorgeous pool, but we didn't end up with enough time. We can't wait to return and see the other updates they have planned!

Pecos Trail Inn is very quiet and quaint. I really loved the decor. I was told they upgraded their beds which explains why I slept very well. Dog fee is $50 and the location is very amenable to walking your dog just around in the lot. There is ample parking. I could occasionally hear my neighbors but did not know they existed at night (it was that quiet).

Roger at the front desk is great, the restaurant for dinner was great, rooms are aged but clean, bed was great, not crazy about the fan on the AC unit. Couldn't check out the awesome looking pool because of rain. Great place for bikers to pull their bikes in front of room under awning if need be. Hope to return when some more reno is done. Thanks!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Our room was very comfortable and lovely. We will be back over Labor Day weekend and taking three other couples from Las Cruces. We hope they enjoy your inn as much as we did. The evenings were so quiet..no sound of highway traffic. We were disappointed that the neighboring restaurant was closed but it’s understandable that everyone needs some time off. We look forward to eating there over Labor Day!! Roger at the front desk is so very nice and welcoming

This will be my go to place for every Santa Fe visit! It's a quaint & charming family owned motel with a restaurant and bar on site. The casitas (there are 2) are my favorites with the fam❤️. There's also an easily accessible park with a nice walking trail. My only suggestion would be to add a small table and chairs in the available space of the single rooms.

Extremely clean room with nice amenities (drip coffee machine, mini fridge, plates and silverware, etc.) that were heavily utilized during our week long stay. The bed was very comfortable with great pillows. We were lucky that they kept the pool area open a little past when they normally close it. Pool was also very clean and enjoyable. We were fortunate enough to have quiet and considerate neighbors during our stay but admittedly the walls are quite thin and we could hear a conversation going on next door. We would gladly stay here again! Thank you, Pecos Trail Inn, for a lovely stay!

This place was adorable and very comfortable. I brought my entire team in from out of town and all were very pleased. The pool is super cute and the room remodels were fantastic. Spacious, very clean, comfortable mattress and sheets, and service make this a great deal. The new owners are prioritizing the right stuff and doing a great job. They focus on details to make the experience unique. The ease and of access to highway for quick return to airport for an early flight combined with easy, short ride the plaza, Canyon rd and great restaurants make it a fantastic location. Way better than the National hotels on Cerrios and costly destinations on the plaza. We will be back.

My family and I spent a couple of nights here and wish we could have stayed longer. The room was perfection, in size, decor, and cleanliness. Location to food and shopping was excellent. The pool area was so cute! The water was warm and clean. I loved how it felt secluded and peaceful. Will definitely stay here next time we come back to Santa Fe!

A cute family owned and operated motel in a great location! A Route 66 gem! Newly renovated rooms with a Southwest flair! Rooms are clean, spacious, showers are huge and the beds are extremely comfortable! Owners were very helpful recommending restaurants and points of interest! Do yourself a favor and book here! It won’t disappoint!

We just stayed here for a friends wedding and absolutely loved it. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and larger than what we were anticipating. You can tell the property was recently renovated, to include the pool. The beds and even pillows were comfortable. The perfect stay for your Santa Fe trip.

This little motel was such a great find as we puttered across New Mexico on a week-long road trip the first week of October! SO MUCH better than your standard chain hotels at the same price point. The room was very cute and really fit the theme of Santa Fe. It's close to both town and the interstate, so it's easy to get to, and a great launching point to all the nearby touristy spots. In the room, the owners had a binder with their story, local recommendations, and basic info which was extremely useful! I wish I could give 4.5 stars - this was such a great place, but wish that 1) There were curtains on the windows (there are blinds, but they don't keep out much light!), and 2) The insulation/soundproofing between rooms was a little thicker. Curtains may certainly be on the docket for the owners since they just took over not long ago. The soundproofing wasn't a huge issue due to the thoughtful guests we had adjacent to us all 3 nights, but if anyone had been having a late night next door, we would have had a front-row seat. That being said, I'd 100% stay here if I'm ever in Santa Fe again! Thanks for a great stop on our journey!

We went to Santa Fe on a whim and stumbled upon the Pecos Trail Inn. Leah, the owner, was so accomodating and a truly authentic human being. Leah also shared great restaurant recommendations and places of interest since this was our first time in Santa Fe. The room was quite large, very clean, and had a Santa Fe vibe. The bed was amazing. We had to cut our stay short due to the weather but will stay there again when we come back. Highly recommend. Thanks Leah.

Love this place. It's like a second home to me. Santa Fe wouldn't be the same without the Pecos Trail Inn. A must-visit on the old route 66, with a genuine old-fashioned air.

This place is so adorable. The room is very very nice and really clean. There is coffee and bottled water in the room. Parking is near the door. The food at the Pecos Trail Inn was great and inexpensive. A Mariachi band played on Friday evening which added to the ambience. I would definitely recommend this place

No military discount or free breakfast for the price you pay $79+tax. But, clean rooms with comfortable beds, warm water, conveniently by the hospital, friendly staff, good wifi and it's safe there as well. We did stay there plenty of times now. And, would recommend this to anyone.

Nothing fancy but very clean and well maintained, nice rooms and great staff. Stayed a couple nights and then stayed again on my way back through, they remembered my name and the room I stayed in a few days before. The Mexican restaurant in the parking lot is excellent.

Great experience. Incredibly accommodating staff. Close to the interstate, restaurant next door, cute little park nearby. Very pleased with my stay!

I booked a stay at the PTI because I have family that lives nearby. The room was comfortable but not fancy or elegant. Everything worked. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was also affordable, and much more convenient than somewhere downtown or on Cerrillos Rd.

We loved this motel. It's a classic 1955 inn and is being restored by the current owners. We had our dog with us and we were in the handicap room which was tastefully decorated and comfortable. In the cool morning it was delightful to sit outside our room and drink our coffee. There is a nice little park around the corner. The cafe next door has outdoor seating on their patio which gets some shade in late afternoon. ...And call directly for the best rates

We stayed here on New Year’s Eve. Our room was very clean and comfy. And very cutely decorated. The check-in and check-out process was very simple. I originally booked here so I could bring my dog. It’s a perfect place for pets, as there is a park right next to the hotel and even little doggie welcome treats! Very easy access to Santa Fe Plaza, but would definitely need to drive or Uber. I highly recommend.

My wife and I stayed for a week in August, loved it, and would definitely stay again. The room was big, nice, and clean, and the owners and staff were all very friendly and helpful. Beautiful part of town with gorgeous vistas and sunsets, with quick access to great trails for hiking and biking.

I had a lovely stay at the Pecos Trail Inn. Talk about dog friendly--while they do charge a hefty fee for dogs, they treat them like special guests and there are plenty of amenities for the doggos. We were given a gift bag for both dogs which had a toy, treats, poop bags, and a pop-up/travel bowl. The property is right next to a sweet little park that is very clean and well-maintained but low traffic, which made it a great place to walk the dogs. I am looking forward to staying here anytime I'm in Santa Fe and seeing the improvements and upgrades they continue to make to the property! Lots of charm and thought throughout.

Not much to look at from the outside but rooms were large and nicely decorated in local themes. Very clean and quiet. Only complaint was hot water, while more than adequate, never got hot enough for me.

  • 4/5 Michael B. 1 year ago on Google
This was our first time staying here, so we had no idea what to expect. The price was higher than what we wanted to pay, but for the price point that was available, this looked like a decent option. One major factor in our decision was they allowed our two dogs. I agree with the other reviews that the dog fee is on the excessively high side. The rooms have tile floors so cleanup is super easy for dogs. The hotel is under new ownership. They are actively working to restore and improve the property for their guests. We met one of the owners in one of the rooms being remodeled, and she was actually doing the work. Which is impressive. And she stopped to chat and was very friendly, and share what they are doing to improve the property. The rooms have a fun southwest theme. Saltillo tile, talavera tile, wood furniture, southwest art. Our room even had a live potted plant. The location is pretty awesome. It's off the beaten path, and alone on its block. So it doesn't feel dense, congested, or crowded. It's right next to a nice small park with a fun walking path through some desert landscape. But still, It's about 10 minutes away from almost anything you're going to do. The shopping district on Cerillos is 10-ish minutes for most things. Plaza is 10 min away. The hiking trails to the northwest also about 10 minutes away. (We weren't able to hike because of the trails being closed for fire danger). Why 4 stars instead of 5? The property is dated, and they haven't finished the upgrades yet. No pool - waiting for approval from the state after transferring the title. AC was present, but struggled to keep up with the Santa Fe heat in the late afternoon sun. But they are in the process of upgrading both the heat and AC. I am confident that as soon as they finish their plans for the hotel, it will be 5-stars for everything.

Great place, great vibe, very clean. Can’t recommend highly enough. My only suggestion is to get rid of the lizard sign on the front of the restaurant. Not original and it detracts from the look of the place.

We enjoyed staying at the Pecos Trail Inn in Santa Fe, NM. The room was large and very clean. The sheets were clean and white and the bed very comfortable. The staff was very helpful. There is a small park next to the motel and a great view, too. It was nice to be out of the noise and bustle of downtown. The heating/air conditioning system was very quite. In short, we will definitely stay at the Pecos Trail Inn again!

Excellent customer service from Roger on the phone and at the front desk. The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. Shower was great - plenty of hot water. We look forward to the swimming pool renovation!

This historic hotel is adorable! Super clean rooms, excellent service, and convenient to anything you want to see or do in Santa Fe. THE BEDS were the most comfortable I have ever slept in. There was no better feeling than being cozy and pampered while drifting off to sleep on the most comfortable mattress, pillows, and linens while a light snow was falling outside. Dreamy. This is my go to spot for all seasons from now on!
