My recent stay at Gagaka Rua in Santa Marta was a complete disappointment. The service was horrendous, and to make matters worse, the condition of the hotel was unacceptable and we encountered a shocking incident where they wanted unexpectedly to charge us for leaving our luggage at the hotel for 24 hours. The room floor was dirty, which was both unsightly and unhygienic. Overall, I strongly advise against staying at this hotel due to the combination of poor service, lack of professionalism, and unsanitary conditions.

It's a nice, quiet hostel. There are two pools which are good for cooling down of Santa Marta's heat. The room was spacious enough. I quite enjoyed my stay here and the staff was nice. BUT what really ruined the experience was that they checked my (white) towel for stains at the end. After having used it for 4 days (it wasn't changed) it was not completely shiny white anymore, which I guess is normal. And I had to pay it! Seriously? Just don't hand out towels at all then.

Stayed there for 2 nights after the Ciudad perdida Trek, great place to relax. Loved the rooftop terrace! One night in a dorm (8 beds) is 30k to 35k depending on weekday or weekend.

Just stayed for a night, it has all the facilities you can expect in a hostel they were kind and help me with my transportation from the airport at night. The answered all my questions before my stay. It would be nice to be able to fill water bottles as in other hostels. It is in the Centro Histórico so you’ll be near to the beach, museums and restaurants

Spacious room, comfortable bed, cotton sheets, ac, nice little breakfast, friendly personal, great location. One concern: windows are not opening. Would stay here again.

Hostal clean, staff nice, bed comfortable BUT i left my bag on the table while taking nap close to the swimming pool and when i woke up i counted the money i had just for consious and it was missing 50000 pesos.. was very bad experience and they said that they gonna look at the camera and let me know what happened but nothing.. so be carful herr in colombia dont trust anybody..

Dark rooms, lock on main gate and slightly weird staff. They just came in the room without knocking when they heard us trying to unlock the door. Also wouldn't open the main gate lock or allowed us to leave, until they had checked the room. Just weird.. also not in the safest area. You will walk empty streets which don't feel safe to get and out

Do not wash clothes here that cannot be put in the dryer. We specifically created a separate bag that should not be dried in the dryer and told the hostel owner. When we received our clothes we could feel that they were warm from a dryer. This resulted in a lot of shrunk clothes. Really bad service.

Aircon turns of at 7 am. And is set at 25degrees in 8 person dorms right under the roof. Rest is pretty decent.

Decent location, 15 away from buses. RUA provide breakfast and towels and the showers are amazing. Super friendly staff and helpful. Has a hot tub and mini roof top pool. Very good price to stay. Would recommend others to stay.

The location is pretty good, a little bit off the main street, so far enough to not be bothered by road noise or parties. The staff is very friendly and helpful in all matters. The facilities and rooms are clean and comfortable. The rooftop terrace and pool are a great addition.

central location, very friendly and helpful staff and a really nice interior/exterior with pool and places to chill:) we will come back when leaving from Santa Marta down south!

The location is not bad, but - rooms are not clean and all the night there is the A/C on, it’s freezing 🥶 - the service is the worst I founded in my life. They shared my contact without my consensus with a person that is stalking me. I think what they did is impolite and not legal at all. Sorry but this is highly unprofessional

A very nice hostel, great location nearby restaurants and bars. The staff is friendly and help us book activities in Santa Marta. The rooms are clean and comfy. It’s was a very nice experience. I’ll recommend it.
