Make sure to check your bill thoroughly, 4 extra beers 60k COP were added to my account somehow even though everything you order is signed for. Amazing location, not as good as it's hyped up to be, cookies đŸȘ are great and so is the food. Staff are very friendly too. Edit: Just talked to two french guys who said they had extra beers added to their bill, looks like a scam this hostel does to charge extra to guests. Reducing rating from 4 stars to 1 star. DON'T PAY YOUR CHECKOUT BILL WITHOUT CHECKING IT IN DETAIL!

First, you’ll question your decision on booking as you ride up the dirt road to the hotel (we were on motorcycles) but OMG! It is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been at in my entire life. It is that great! The staff is off the charts wonderful and helpful, the rooms are incredible, the views never end, the meals were amazing. The most amazing place I’ve ever been to. Don’t miss staying here, don’t miss Minca, it will be the highlight of your Colombian vacation.

I loved this place. Mostly, I loved the location. It’s just amazingly immersed in the very middle of the jungle, which I found spectacular. Yes, it’s not easy to reach and not easy to move around once there, but that was for us the point. The pool, the views, the walks around, the sunset, the rain, the birds - the absolute highlight for us. The rooms are good value, referring here to the dorms. We also got lucky and had a private room at the end, which was really beautiful and comfy. I found the food to be overall good and liked a lot the concept of dining all at the same time. Points for improvement in my view: - cleanliness of shared bathrooms - kindness of staff. Some of them are lovely, but the rest (the majority) kind of annoyed and it’s a pity. Overall, I would definitely go back to this place.

This place is truly a gem. Everything is beautiful. The activities were nice. I had a private room that was wonderful. The food was just incredible. I cannot imagine any better place to stay in the Minca area. One word of warning- If you’re riding your own moto, be prepared for a challenging ride up to the hostel. Otherwise, it was an absolute treat to stay here. Be prepared to socialize and relax!

This unique place is located in the beautiful mountains close to Minca. Food is delicious for a very reasonable price! Bar is nice. On top of that over the whole place you have an amazing view. Last but not least the infinity pool with that view, wow! Getting there is a bit tricky. Overall i would give 6 stars if possible

Amazing stay!! Real immersion into the lush nature of Sierre Nevada with large quantity of endemic bird species. Sunsets from the infinite pool are just stunning. the entire staff is really kind and make you feel at home since your arrival. Really high quality food at the restaurant. Rooms are really well decorated and confortable with views to the jungle and the valley. 100% recommended

Best hostel I stayed at in Colombia (probably best ever since location and view). The room for our private room was like a painting overlooking the mountains nearby. Hostel has a very social vibe with the same dinner time for everybody and plenty of places to meet each other. There are also plenty of activities to do (bird watching, visit coffee farm etc.) Only downside is that our (bath)room was not very clean when we came in and the days after no cleaning was done.

A beautiful place in many ways. Set in the jungle, you can spot lots of birds from the balcony of your room, or from the restaurant. Really good tasty food at reasonable prices. A stunning warmed pool. Lots of activities. Attracted a nice group of people when I was there. I haven’t stayed in a dorm for many many years, but made an exception so I could stay here (as other rooms were booked out) - was pretty quiet with a considerate group. I needed to book in advance (went end of August). If you arrive in rain take a 4x4! Otherwise I found the moto fun. Nice service by all working there.

This is a Hostel, which earns its reputation as the best hostel in Columbia. It feels more like a resort because everything is on site, great food amazing views. Yoga in the morning bonfire in the evening, greet drinks and dancing at night. Jasmine, the front desk receptionist is exceptional!! Thanks Masaya!

Our group had an amazing time at Casas Viejas. Everything about the hostel was incredible. It was really clean, with nice chill out areas. The staff were incredible, Alejandro in the restaurant was brilliant. The free breakfast was a lovely touch and the food in general was really tasty. Amazing value

Only stayed 1 night be really loved the place. Be ready though, the transport there is quite a trek and once you are up you are pretty much staying there until you leave! They do have activities offered that start from the hostel for hikes, bird watching, but you won't be able to just go in the village to eat, etc. Food was great when we were there - loved the dinner all together. Just know that it is a family friendly hostel and there might be lots of kids playing and splashing in the pool.

AMAZING! Wanted to stay longer! From the motorcycle ride up the mountain to the room, views, pool and hikes.... this place is a hidden treasure. Great price, yummy food and such a peaceful, beautiful place. Can't wait to visit again.... some day.

One of my favourite hostels I’ve ever stayed at! Absolutely beautiful. The dorms themselves were clean and comfortable. And the shower is absolutely fantastic. If you’ve just come from Central America and non stop cold showers you’ll be thankful for this đŸ„ł The pool area and views are breathtaking. The food too was great. Best pancakes I’ve ever eaten. Staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks to Francisco for all his work trying to get the Rugby World Cup on the big screen! (Make sure you make the most of the cosy movie mezzanine. As for transport, to Masaya we got the motorbikes. Scary enough, the driver of my girlfriends bike nearly lost control 😅 besides that a positive experience! From Masaya we split a jeep with others. Just be aware that the jeep guys try to charge per person as opposed to one jeep. All in all, wonderful experience. Very tranquil, relaxing enjoyable.

AMAZING FOOD! since everyone mentioned the view, which is obvious they are espectacular. I want to tell you that is worth coming here, although is remote, you will have very tasty and adorable meals! In addition to the pool, you have every morning available yoga class at a cost and you would I want to spend all afternoon seating looking at all the birds from the garden. The lunch cost are around 20k COP the place and dinner 30k COP. The dessert are amazing, don’t leave without trying the cooking. The last tip, is that you can get a jeep to the house it will cost you 3 times more but if you are a few friends is worthy, the alternative is a moto ride that is scarier than a roller coaster 🎱 The sunset from the pool is so beautifully

All in all a great experience, the view is spectacular and you can be sure to have a good and quiet night sleep in the mountains :) I had very high expectations before the arrival and have to say, I was a bit disappointed. As the location is very far away from town, which is of course written on the website, you will spend lot of money for the transport and I also think, it would be great if the menu would be shared online so people would see it before booking - the restaurant is the only place to order food while staying up in the finca. Food was good, but there should def. Be more options. Also the dorms should be cleaned up daily. I guess customers would be happy if there would be also some Programm if it rains :)

Amazing place, the best spot we have done so far : the location takes your breath away, the food is excellent, the staff is very sweet, and we loved the activities (3 hour trekk + traditional massage). Thank you for everything ♄

Fantastic hostel with lots of great people both staying and working/volunteering here. We had booked one night but immediately opted for two upon arrival. If you’re in this area it’s an absolute must go-to. We will be back!

One of the best places we’ve ever visited
The welcome from everyone there makes you feel like you are part of the family. The food is outstanding, activities are well-ran and the view from the pool is stunning. We stayed for 3 nights and wished we had more time. The staff was also amazing: Laurith, Jessica, Jason and Angel are now people we can call friends.

Our favourite Hostel ever!!! Don’t miss out on staying here!!! We nearly didn’t get to stay here because I stupidly booked for the wrong dates but the staff were so amazing and kind they helped us to be able to stay for a night. Every single member of staff we came across was super friendly and inclusive. And were also able to explain everything in English to us Gringos đŸ€Ł The view from the restaurant and pool is absolutely stunning and as you’re sat there there’s humming birds flying around. It’s a really sociable but chilled vibe which is just perfect. They have a bar with happy hour and beers from the local brewery! Also they light a fire at night. The food is a choice between a meat dish or a vegetarian dish. And it was delicious!! Breakfast there’s 4 choices and I had the yogurt/ granola / fruit bowl which was so tasty. They have free coffee sourced from the coffee farm below until 2pm everyday also! They do lots of tours and yoga in the morning - we didn’t do it but looked amazing as it was by the pool with the best view. We walked up to the sunset mirador which was unreal. And also did the coffee farm tour which was so interesting! We stayed in one of the dorm rooms. Beds were clean, comfortable and had mosquito nets. Plus a blanket which was great because it does get cold in the evening. Thank you again everyone at Casas Viejas for saving us and letting us stay! You’re all amazing!

This place was by far the most magical, relaxing yet exciting place we stayed on our trip to Colombia. Everything about the clean but cozy aesthetic surrounded by a lush rainforest makes this place feel perfect! They have great common areas with a beautiful infinity pool, hammocks, books, television, plenty of trails to walk around the property. They offer a list of activities; we did birdwatching, nocturnal wildlife and the waterfall hike. Each of them had a wonderful guide, full of knowledge and excitement to share it with the group! They have a full kitchen and bar. The food was alright for veg options but my partner had the meat options and found it much more flavorful. Honestly there was nothing to complain about with our stay, everything from the service to atmosphere was incredible!

Just, wow!! It’s like disneyland kind of because you’re stuck for the entire time there eating and drinking their food, but I can’t complain bc it was all really good. A golden prison of sorts. The activities are all a bit contrived, but it’s really a place to relax, mediate, and recharge. The wifi works really well in the common areas so I was able to work as well. the only downside is the DICEY moto ride to the place, but it’s worth it. Note that I only had a 40L backpack with me — it wouldn’t be possible with suitcases, and you’d have to take the keep which is much more expensive.

Luckily found this place online when researching where to stay in Colombia. Definitely not disappointed, amazing place. Lovely, friendly staff. The rooms are great and the food is good value and tasty.

Staying at Masaya Casas Viejas has truly been the highlight of my travels in Colombia so far. It’s beyond beautiful, the staff and food are amazing. Lots of nice travellers there in a small but social setting. Come prepared for a fun adventure up the hill on a crazy road. I took the Moto taxi which was quite fun and very good price. My only complaint is I didn’t stay longer.

Without a doubt the best hostel experience I have had in Colombia. It is set in the heights of the mountains. Far away from the city, so you get a really relaxing vibe. The evenings are especially nice as everyone is "forced" to stay in as there is nothing around, but you are with like-minded nature lovers. We recommend without a doubt.

What an amazing place! It has everything you want, beatiful scenary, great facilities, an amazing staff (Luis, looking at you here!), awesome pool and it attracts a good crowd. Also, what they do really well, is feel out the vibe and react to it. Slow night with people wanting to wake up early, they'll close the bar early. Is everybody up for having a few drinks - then they'll make sure everyone can get involved and will think of great games to connect everybody. Ah and the food is really really good and fairly priced. Couldn't have asked for more!

We had a wonderful stay at the finca. The food, bedrooms, pool, and, of course, the personnel were amazing. Definitely a must visit for Minca.
