The hike to The Lost City was absolutely unforgettable. After looking at several touring groups, we chose Turcol and I am so glad we did. Our guides and translators made the trip even more interesting and educational with stories of the area and answers to all our questions. Janeth Varela was especially helpful. She was happy and helpful and never seemed to run out of energy to help us. She kept us steady through slick, boggy mud, and over riverbeds. She was never without a smile and a bit of encouragement. Misael kept our group going at a good pace so we never arrived at camp too late. He happily answered our questions and told us many interesting things about the area and people. Edwin has a long family history with the indigenous people and the area itself - Wow. We were with a large group of non-Spanish speakers, so our translators, Juber and Jerry made it possible for us to always understand what was going on and learn from the stories of our guides. It was so nice to have all our meals prepared for us. Do your research, get a good backpack, put everything in plastic zip-lock bags, and make friends with your stair stepper before you go. Yes, your shoes will probably always be wet. Yes, you’ll come out of the jungle with bug bites that will last at least 2 weeks. Yes you will wonder how you’ll get up or down another mountain. Yes, you’ll feel triumph at going past what you thought you could. Yes, you will have your breath taken away by what you see. Yes, you will feel so lucky to be doing this. It was grueling. And incredible. Painful, and inspiring. To hike through the unique beauty of the deep Colombian mountains and reach The Lost City is such an incredible experience, that it must require an incredible effort. I would do it again and would definitely want to do it with Janeth and the Turcol group.

Stop searching, Turcol is the tour guide you need! We had an amazing experience with Turcol, they were incredibly attentive with us, taking good care of us along the whole trek. They work with smaller groups than other companies, so that they can connect with each of us personally. They are clearly extremely knowledgeable of the local and colonial history, providing stories along the way as we advanced through different parts of the trek, making it feel like we were living history ourselves. And above all, making it all fun! We'd like to especially thank "Pataconcito" (our main guide), with his constant positive energy and smile, Niko (our translator) for his awesome stories and energy, and Jhonatan for the delicious food he prepared for us along the way, which kept us strong! Love you guys!

Such an incredible experience trekking to the Lost City. Bruno was the perfect guide for such an adventure as this. Knowledgeable, personable, attentive, and he's got charisma for days! He's the type of guy who rolls into camp and is beloved by all. Spoke perfect english as well, which was very helpful for us two ignorant gringos 😉. The trek itself is difficult but is truly the adventure of a lifetime. I'd highly recommend it if you ever find yourself on the northern Caribbean coast of Colombia. Hit up Sandra at the office to get you set up. She was incredibly helpful in helping us get started.

Turcol were amazing I highly recommend using them for your lost city trek we did the five day trek and it turned out to be just the two of us with a guild a translator and a shared cook. Our guide Luis knows everyone and is one of the most experienced guides doing the trek he had great knowledge and a wonderful sense of humour. Our translator Marcello was quite new but had great control of the English language having spent time in New York. He really looked after us and sorted everything out nothing was to much for him. The lost city itself is incredible and the camps are great. We got three great meals a day neither of us got ill at all. Don’t miss out this trek is truly wonderful. I recommend booking in Santa Marta directly with one of the tour companies it’s a set price four or five days. If you book before through a reseller you will pay to much. Take your time look up from your feet and enjoy the getting there we loved it. And don’t worry if you struggle you can take the four wheel drive 🐴

We took a five day hike to and from the lost city with Turcos. The experience was first class. Everything was looked after and when my wife had difficulties keeping up with the rest of the group, our guide Argenith stayed with us for the duration of the hike. He was always there when we needed help. We also enjoyed plenty of great food and lots of information about the history of this place. We can highly recommend this tour.

For four days we fought our way up and down through the jungle, sweating like crazy in temperatures of 30°C and extreme humidity. The shoes sank into deep mud not only once. Our guides Victor (translator) and Louis were great. They really do a great job, despite the enormous physical strain. Always friendly, helpful and an open ear for everyone. Even luggage is carried if necessary. The care in the camps and on the way was top! Nobody left the table hungry. There was even sweets for dessert. Every few km you can recharge your energy with plenty of fruit. You really don't need much. 2 shorts and 2-3 shirts are enough. It doesn't get really cool at night. After walking for 10 minutes, you're soaking wet anyway. I recommend taking toilet paper with you. It is very tight and often all. A pair of good trekking shoes with non-slip soles are important. Overall, a really strenuous tour, but a clear recommendation for healthy people! Special thanks to Victor and Louis!!! Both have very stressful jobs. After the tour, they have to serve the guests again straight away because there is no break for them. I hope they get paid well!!

We had the absolute best time on the lost city trek with our guide Janeth and translator Marcello! They were incredible. Janeth had so much knowledge and Marcello's English, happiness and funniness was fantastic. We were constantly fed good food and being looked after. They had beds, pillows and it was clean. The company were also very customer focused and helped to resolve an issue with drop off regarding the hotel. I can't thank them enough for getting us home safe and sound. I would highly recommend and use again. Please ask for janeth and Marcello they were great.

Great tour company, same price than other company (335 euros ) but there are established since the very very beginning. So they have a great network , and they’ve know the region since a long time . Guides are important and they have very good quality workers !

We went on the 4-day trek to La Cuidad Perdida with Turcol. Everything was great. Our guide Janeth made sure that we were all well taken care of at all times. She walked with my dad and his girlfriend who were a bit slower than the group to make sure that they were fine, and helped them navigate the difficult sections of the route. The food was great and plenty! The chefs were awesome. Everything ran smooth and it was a great experience. Big thanks to our guide Janeth and Luz (the auxiliary guide)!

For all of you looking to do the Lost City Trek and comparing different agencies - don't bother. They all share the same/similar accomodations and food and ofc the trek is exactly the same. In the end it comes down to what kind of group you get and which particular guide. The experience itself is great though, so just go ahead and get the sweat on!

Went on the Cuidad Perdida Trek with this company and everything about it was outstanding. We had two great guides, Ender and Juan Carlos (translator) who are more than helpful. Book your trek with this company and everything will be handled professionally. An arduous but great experience!

👍🏻 We recommend Turcol! Usually it's small groups. We were 5 plus William, our super guide, mountain lover, and Chris, our always cheerful translator. They are attentive and we learned a lot. Go ahead without hesitation.

Had an awesome experience! Our guide Javier was very friendly, encouraging & informative. He went above and beyond for our small group of two😂 He made the trip feel very personal as if we were the only ones on the hike. There is so much I could stay about my experience, in a nutshell, the experience is one I will never forget and I would highly recommend the adventure and Turcol! La fecha de experiencia febrero 2021🙂

I don't even know where to begin as literally everything about this trip was spectacular. -The agent at the office was very professional and multilingual. She went over every detail, and went so far as to provide a translator for our group (French,English, Spanish). They will arrange pickup services if you are in the Santa Marta area and are happy to store your additional belongings. -The guide was local, passionate, and knowledgeable. We had briefings not only at La Cuidad Perdida, but also at the camps about the local flora, the history of the indigenous tribes, and the history of coca in the last century. -The agency provides a chef who goes to every camp. The amount of food was borderline obscene (in the best possible way). I was well fed the entire trip: three meals a day and fruit at various checkpoints. -Trekkers have the option to do four or five days, depending on the pace you want to go or the level of skill. We were lucky to have a small group. Just be prepared. I'm a beast of a hiker and it's still tiring. Pack what the agency suggests and keep your pack light. It's better to smell bad for a couple days than add ten pounds to your pack. Bring cash for souvenirs and donations for the indigenous people. Thank you to Sandro, "Pataconcito", and everyone at the agency.

I did the Lost City trail. I loved. The guide Bruno highly recommended. Funny, he sings vallenatos, he was very attentive to us and that we enjoyed it. Also, the assistant guide Norbey was excellent. I loved planting a caracolí tree at the Wilmer stop of the Sowing Traces initiative to reforest the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Cook Zuleima's delicious food. Spectacular!!! Don't hesitate to take on Ciudad Perdida with Turcol!!
