Was there on April 29 . All four of us had Dine LA menu. Bad choice. The steak was too salted , rubbery I had one bite and sent back. The server did not give the option of replacement with another entree. he was offering us free wine but we declined. because we were hungry . We left hungry The desert was chocolate -stale. This is a nice ambiance restaurant and had good experience in the past. I think Dine LA menu is not good choice,

We were enchanted with everything about this place. Excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere, tasty food and nice cocktails. It was a significant evening in a beautiful hotel.

Shutters is a very special hotel in Santa Monica. It's one of the few luxury ocean front hotel experiences around and their restaurants have the most incredible views. This is why you go here - the food maybe not so much... at least not at the price point. I have the luxury of eating at some of the best restaurants in LA, so my bar is very high. Will the view give you goosebumps? Hell yes! Will you have a nice special dining experience? Most likely. Will the food blow your mind? Maybe not. We had a business dinner here the other night, I have to say I left, not so impressed. It's expensive but the food just doesn't hit the mark for me. What we ordered: Appetizers: Crispy Wrapped Summer Squash, Blue Crab Tartine, Grilled Blue Prawns - the winner here was the prawns, the biggest loser aka maybe take this off the menu was the crab - completely tasteless Entrees: Caesar Salad add Chicken (what I got, Roasted Half Jidori Chicken - riddle me that Batman), Lobster Spaghetti - I really have no words because the server simply chose something he considered better for me. It was good, I'll give him that, but definitely NOT what I wanted. Deserts: Brownie Sundae and Chocolate Soufflé - eh Other than the misorder, the service was great. Would I come back for a celebratory meal, probably not, but for drinks, 100%!

Had lunch today in the Courtyard, our waiter was a lovely guy who knew his business, the courtyard is not really the best place for the restaurant, loads of hotel guests walking by, staff walking by etc, feels like a drop in and drop off point, menu…. Nothing to special really, foot ( brunch ) was OKish but I’ve had better, I miss some real Californian dishes!!! Loads of opportunities here! Overall look is a bit dated, again the courtyard might not have been the best area to have the brunch, overall very expensive for what you get. Food is not the best

We were staying up in Santa Monica for a family event and decided to check out Shutters by the beach. We grab some cocktails at the 1 Pico bar. We were greeted by Peyton who was such a pleasure to talk too. She was very knowledgeable about cocktails and made us a few delish drinks. We started going through the specialty cocktails but didn't quite get through them all. We will definitely come back to finish that list. I would highly recommend this place and if your luck maybe Peyton will be working there.

Servers were very attentive and knowledgeable however the food is kind of a mixed bag. We came with a relatively large group and so we were able to sample a lot of different dishes. Meat and seafood dishes were great. I actually like the concept of seasoning the meat simply with just salt and pepper and letting the quality of the meat shine. The vegetable dishes were truly spectacular but I would skip the pasta dishes. They were "fine", but for the money you would expect something a little more elevated than just "fine", and maybe this was just the night we were there but all of the pasta was undercooked, meaning not quite al dente, and it didn't really matter which type it noodle was, they were all like that.

This is long, long overdue. Years ago I had my first official date with my girlfriend at One Pico. So I wanted to propose to her on the beach outside and then have a celebratory dinner at the same table where we had our first date. I want to give a special shout out to manager Owen Edson who was able to find the exact table and reserve it for us. Long story short, she said yes and we ended up getting legally married on the beach there the following year. Aside from the sentimental importance of this place, the service and the food are fantastic. We always love going there and cannot say enough great things about One Pico and Shutters.

First time at this restaurant and I was just amazed by the location. You have a beautiful view of the ocean from this restaurant. The ambience is 5 star and the employees working here were great, courteous and friendly. The food was just amazing. Hands down one of the best seafood restaurants in the LA. I highly recommend this place for all the seafood lovers. All the items we ordered were great. Definitely will return to this restaurant if in LA. It is a high end restaurant so it is expensive but worth it.

We were very disappointed by the dinner here. With this price point (150+ per person) we’d expect the food quality to be much higher. Meat and lobster were both super tough to chew and the appetizer was also tasteless.

Great service and location, especially sunset. Food was average. Squid doesn't go great with potatoes! Scallops were overcooked and soggy! Dessert was great.

This place was absolutely amazing. It's located in Santa Monica and has very scenic and beautiful views. The entire staff was very friendly. Our waiter was a very nice gentleman. The food was absolutely amazing, we had the Lobster Benedict and it didn't not disappoint. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.

Ci Hanno DERUBATO!! THEY ROBBED US!!! This is incredible that happened to me and my family, the waitress made wrong bill and take from our credit card when I told them they make new bill and take again from our credit card but don’t remove the other!!! They take more than 500$ but the tight bill was 220$! Now we can back in Italy and they don’t remove the wrong bill from our credit card! So it's true, you are thieves!

Good for lunch. I wish they have more brunch menu like grilled octopus and fried calamari..

Overpriced, mediocre restaurant with horribly rude management and service. Could not have felt less welcome. Sean, the manager of the restaurant the night we were there, is particularly awful. Could not believe the way he spoke to us. There are much much better restaurants at this price point in Santa Monica and Venice. Don’t waste your money - the ocean view isn’t worth it!!

The atmosphere is great. Food is average. Staff only nice if you spend a lot of $$$ and the wait staff doesn't seem very organized. Valet had changed my radio station and left their jacket in our car, which seemed odd.

Perfect date night. Arrived for our reservation at 6 pm to an almost empty house. Table right next to the window with an ocean view. It took a while for our waiter to come take our order, but when the food finally came, it was delicious. Our waiter was quite eccentric - he was friendly and gave great recommendations but would leave quickly after checking in on us. And a few times he even came by and just dropped something off without saying anything. He's a funny guy, and we grew to love him. His recommendation for the grilled prawns appetizer was amazing. The sea urchin pasta had a nice flavor of the sea - not the best uni I've had but it went well with the pasta. The halibut smelled amazing and went well with the peas and artichoke and lightly grilled onion - not terribly flavorful but it grew on me and I ended up really liking it especially after adding some salt. Our waiter convinced us to order the one dessert I hadn't been considering - the salted caramel sundae, and he was right that everything went very well together. Overall a wonderful evening.
