What a great little zoo.. it is small, but mighty. I was fortunate enough to be able to do all the animal feedings, and I did the sloth encounter as well. The sloth encounter was short, but fun, and the keeper who took us in was knowledgeable and super friendly and fun. We got to feed the sloths, and get very close for photos and things. Feeding the budgies is a must do as well, so much fun, and a unique experience. We also fed Giraffes, camels, and the highland cows. There was a nice little park for the kiddos as well, and the train was a fun way to get off our feet. I would recommend for anyone staying in the area.

Absolutely love this place! We are big fans of animals and love going to the zoo anywhere! This zoo is exceptional and we will definitely be back time and time again. The only downside is the cost. We are a family of 7 and there aren't any price packages that accommodate for larger families. If there were a way to get a more affordable option for large families, we would be there a lot more often. The train ride was fun and we enjoyed hearing a bit of information on each of the animals we encountered on the route. I wish there were more zookeepers around the other animal exhibits to share a bit about the animals. I rarely saw zookeepers during our visit which gave us almost no opportunities to ask questions about the animals and their habitats. I have a house full of curious minds. No outside food or drinks also makes it a bit difficult for a large family to afford considering the prices of the food in the park. Staff was friendly. Restrooms were clean and a great place to cool off in the a/c. Would give 5 stars for sure if pricing was better suited for larger families.

Great zoo to visit. Senior and military discounts available. Cafe on the grounds, rest rooms also. Ride the train around the Safari park, 10 minutes. See some of my photos. Have a good time!

Absolutely awesome. We loved Gulf Breeze Zoo. Especially my 8 year old son, he had an absolute blast. We would definitely recommend this zoo to other families. The layout was great. The animals were precious and beautiful.

Very cute little zoo. It was my son's first experience at a zoo and we had a great time. He fed birds, cows, goats, and even the giraffes! There was a nice little train ride where you saw gorillas, antelope, rhinos, and hippos. You can walk around with a cocktail or beer. There is a fun little playground. I wish some of the enclosures were a bit bigger/nicer, but that can't happen without funding so give this place a visit!

If you're traveling to Pensacola or the surrounding areas, this zoo is a nice little place to take the kids, or even a nice little place for a date. It was so much fun and even though the zoo is a little small, it still was very intriguing to see the animals and how they were acting. They have a safari train which takes you around the back of the zoo, that was fun!! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The animals were hilarious, making all kinds of noises and just doing their thing.

Worth the price. Unfortunately, the day we went the maned wolf was not out and it was the one thing I really wanted to see. But plenty of other animals. Kids loved feeding the parakeets , and the giraffe. The big bulls are also so cute. It's not a gigantic zoo, but it can take more than an hour to walk through.

So much fun for a small zoo I. Lots of cool and unique animals and a wolf I've never seen. We got to feed turtles, camels and fish. The Galapagos turtles are stunning. The ring-tailed lemurs are so much fun to watch. They also have close encounters with the rhino, the hippos, and the sloths as well as other animals for an additional cost. They have a really cool walkway built above the animals so that you can really see them and a train that runs every hour and goes around the whole park. The gift shop is a good size, with lots of picnic areas too. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. The staff was very nice, answered questions and made us feel welcomed. Will gladly go again.

Beautiful and well organized zoo in the heart of Emerald Coast. Staff is super friendly. Animals are kept in a very decent environment and look to be in a good shape. Our kids love visiting this zoo. We've been coming to this zoo for several years now an it's continuously improving, expanding. Admission is on pricier side, nonetheless, we know quite well how costly it can be to maintain such establishments. All in all it's a great place to visit with family and friends. They do have play grounds for toddlers and older kids as well should they get bored while waiting for a train. That's right, they do have an internal train system that takes visitors around and shows various exhibitions with a guided tour. It's fun and educational. We highly recommend visiting this zoo to all our family and friends. And last but certainly not least they also offer military/veterans discounts on admission fees.

Black Friday visit with free train ride included. Thirty acres of walking and fresh air! Wide paths, wheel chair accesible everywhere. Our group of ten are all above 30 yo, and we enjoyed the time. The train conductor gave info we might not have gotten otherwise and we went behind the wires for views with nothing between. Definitely would return. A pretty place for leisurely pace.

I can’t recommend this zoo enough! Probably one of the best zoos I have visited in regards to hands on experience with the animals and options to feed them. You can easy spend the entire day here. Beautiful landscaping with spacious exhibits for the animals.

This was the best zoo!! The animals seem genuinely happy and are calm. Their living spaces seem very appropriate for each different species. I loved being able to feed so many different animals - even gators! For additional charge they have several close encounters that offer unique experiences and if you don't do them you can still watch others. I will be back!!

This is a beautiful zoo with a nice variety of animals. The animals looked well cared for, and had space to move around in their area. You could easily see the animals. I want to go back as we ran out of time on this visit, we had to catch our plane.

Our experience at the the zoo was great. We did not know what to expect with the town being small. Yet, we had a blast. They have a wide variety of animals and the Boo at Zoo event was cute. We ate visiting the area, if you are and want something to do. This is worth your time. The staff and polite and helpful.

This place has really kicked it up a notch! More exhibits, more encounters available, good family fun. Highly recommend passes, which provide additional discounts on other things (their restaurant/gift shop/ feed). Riding their train alone will bring out your inner child.

Enjoyed our trip here so much! Such a nice layout and a fun experience! You can choose to feed the animals, take a train ride, play at the playground, and eat at the Cafe! Plus they have highland cows that you can pet!! We loved it! Our favorite part was the bird sanctuary, I had to pretty much drag my kids out-they wanted to stay there all day!

Absolutely worth every dollar for families. Our kids had a blast. Highly suggest feeding the animals. Make sure to save some food for the Scottish Highland cows. We ran out before them and they’re so sweet. You get close encounters with animals as well. No tigers but cheetahs and lions are present. Very cool park.

We had a great time at the zoo. There are plenty of exhibits, everything from birds, turtles, hippos, lions, cheetahs and giraffe. You can feed some animals, giraffes, birds, goats and turtles. There are numerous bathrooms and wide paths for strollers. There is even a small train that will take you through some of the zoo for viewing at a distance. Enjoy your time at the zoo!

The Gulf Breeze Zoo is amazing! One of the best zoos I've been to. Its better than the Atlanta Zoo because it's more open and far less crowded. The zoo has a very open layout and you can actually see the animals. You even get to interact with and feed animals, like giraffes, Irish highland cows, budgies, and sheep and goats. There's a playground, a great petting zoo, a restaurant, a big walkway over large fields with ostriches, gazelle, and rhino. And there's a train to ride inside the enclosure.

Not only do we attend this zoo as guest, we also participate in events as vendors with a stand for our small business of kettle corn. Because we’re there before and after hours setting up and cleaning up, we have witnessed just how dedicated these folks are to the comfort and wellbeing of these animals. The owner and every manager makes detailed rounds every morning before the gates open. They observe everything of the care, safety & comforts of each animal and are very thorough because they genuinely care for and love each and every one. The grounds are well kept and they have taken great care to try to mimic the natural environment of the animals. This is truly a wonderful zoo and a great asset to Gulf Breeze! Highly recommended! Wonderful way to spend the entire afternoon! Be sure to ride the train!!

We love this small zoo. The best things about this zoo are the feeding areas, especially the birds and the giraffe, the closeness of the animals, and the variety. I'm impressed that a zoo this small has so many large animals, but it doesn't feel that they are in too tiny cages. Lions, Tigers, bears, hippos, giraffes, zebras, kangaroos, gorillas and orangutans...seriously, larger zoos don't have that many. I liked the capybaras. It's pricey, but don't let the size fool you. You'll get your money's worth.

I really enjoy this zoo, but I find their prices keep going up. It would be great if they had a special price for the last hour they were open instead of paying full price. That might also attract more people in the late afternoon.

This is an incredible zoo. We've been taking our two girls (almost 3 and 4.5) there for every time we visit Pensacola (once a year for a couple months) and it's always one of our favorite experiences. We've gone to many other zoos, including the San Diego Zoo and our hometown zoo in Seattle, but this one stands out because they have just enough quantity to wear us and our girls out and still see the entire zoo in one visit, and the quality of the viewing experience is super super high. This year we took our girls to Boo at the Zoo on Halloween Day and it was the perfect way to trick or treat during Covid times. Even though the zoo was as packed as I've ever seen it, we had plenty of space to social distance and feel safe and there were lots of booths handing out candy that also provided some interesting insights into the local businesses. Highly recommend visiting if you're considering!

This is a great zoo. Even though many animals are behind high fences many come close to visitors. We fed giraffes and budgie birds and that was so fun. I would suggest this zoo for people that enjoy animals. The staff is nice and it is clean and safe.

Gulf Breeze Zoo is a smaller facility than many zoos but it is a delightful experiences. Kids can get up close to giraffes, birds, camels and goats and feed them (the food is an extra cost). The animals are used to being fed and are usually eager to take the food being offered. There is a small train that also goes through part of the zoo. The ride takes about 10 minutes and along the way riders can often see great apes, a hippo or two and small deer from Africa. There are also tortoises that can be seen up close (they like lettuce) and camels. The camels are sometimes laying down and may not be inclined to get up and eat the food being offered. Visitors can walk into what is essentially a large bird cage and feed and serve as a landing platform for parakeets that are often now afraid of being close to humans. There are plenty of children around enjoying the educational experience and having a great time. The animals appear to be very well cared for and the employees are friendly and helpful. There is also a small cafe and a gift shop.

Thuis was a super fun zoo!!! We saw the entire 50 acre property including the train tour in 2 hours. Definitely buy the animal food package when you get there. We had a blast feeding the Budgies, farm animals, and giraffes! The zoo was clean, bathrooms were amazing, and the animals seemed happy.

I don’t know where to start. 1 million stars? Thank you for such a beautiful adventure. Beyond expectations. Very clean, relaxing, each habitat was big and roomy it was like stepping into each individuals home and experience their lives. From walking over a huge bridge raised up above ground, to see a gorilla family on an island was breathtaking. Beautiful deer and I think antelope? Geese, turtles in a lake, huge grassland animals all naturally free some running, others resting peacefully in the grass. It’s all I think about. I can’t wait to go back and feed the giraffes. Oh and the train ride. Perfect. Don’t forget to feed the birds, the budgies loved the lettuce. And my sandals. They tickled my feet, I couldn’t stop laughing. Oh my gosh you must go. Take the whole family, the kids and grand parents are a delight to watch.

Beautiful zoo! Lots of outdoor spaces. Lots of places for kids to run and play. Only 1 disappointment....we have a service dog so we weren't able to ride to train which you need to do to see gorillas, wildebeest and other Africa type animals. Otherwise it was a great visit!

Nice, small, local zoo. As is usually the case with small zoos like this, you tend to be able to get a little closer to the animals than a much larger one. If you want to spring for the feeding experience, you can't go wrong with the giraffes! You get a big cup of romaine that gets you up close and personal with them! Second would be the cup of kibble for the cows and goats, just because they're funny (the goats can get aggressive). Skip the popsicle sticks for the birds - if you just go into the enclosure, there are probably abandoned sticks in there you can use.

This was such a great experience for our little family. My baby loved looking at the goats and ducks/geese and as adults I enjoyed that the enclosures were very well kept and had plenty of items for the animals enrichment. It was a beautiful park, particularly the safari walk. We really enjoyed this zoo.

We enjoyed this zoo so much. We visited mid July 2023 and there were new babies in a lot of the habitats which was exciting. The train ride is a nice feature that gives you a better look into some of the habitat areas. There’s a great variety of animals and they were all active throughout the day. We opted for the giraffe encounter and definitely recommend it. The host was so knowledgeable and so invested in her work there; it showed in the best way. Feeding those tall, beautiful creatures and learning more about their was a great experience for my family.

An adorable smaller zoo with alot to see. We really enjoyed all the feeding opportunities with Giraffe, goats, highland cows and birds. Gators were cold so no feeding in cold temps but would be fun too. Really suprised they had like 7 Giraffes or something! We didn't ride the little train but I'm sure kids would absolutely love it. Their little aviary was a riot. The birds are so friendly and inquisitive. They will land/climb all over you. We did see an occasional small child that found it scary and left crying but most people, including us absolutely loved it! Highly recommend!

Really fun and cute place to go. Love the petting zoo area where you can feed the goats. The parakeet area is also soooo fun. Tons of parakeets fly on you, it’s adorable. The train is really fun too. A really great zoo overall. If you’re in the area I would deff go here.

Small zoo, but my favorite was the budgies! Not 1, not 2, not 3.. but maybe 6 of these guys will just chill on your arm or head! Be careful since they do nibble on ya! In love with these birds and how chill they are at times! Loved the zoo tho!

It's an amazing place to go with your family. We enjoyed a lot. They have a lot of animals: a tiger, lions, different types of monkeys, birds, hippos, rhinos, giraffes, gorillas. Don't forget to purchase the adventure pass so you can use the train (cause you'll see more animals). You can see that they're all very well, and happy. You can feed giraffes, goats, sheep, birds... Gulf Breeze Zoo was awesome!! I went with my daughter and boyfriend and I had a great time!! I didn't even want to leave and be around humans after the experience I had today!! They also had a wide range of animals I had never thought they would have here in Florida. The train ride was short but I was able to see other animals in the back of the zoo! Very cool and definitely will go back soon!!

Not a large zoo but still fun. Some of the more interesting exhibits are only visible from the train, which is a 10-15 minute ride that departs hourly. Prices are moderate and the value is good not great. Worthwhile for a few hours time for the kids or interested adults.

We came on a rainy winter day and we were nervous we weren’t going to see much. Instead, we saw almost everything! Great facility (better than most city zoos!) and even better staff. Tara on the train was great! Don’t miss out on this zoo!

I Love this place. So clean...the staff was so friendly. I'm dying to find what they're putting in the new area with the huge cages off to the left side when you walk the boardwalk. Elephants would be cools or is that for all the rhino's? Definitely coming back.

Great place to bring children. Adults will like it too. Wide variety of species from many parts of the world. Even lions, tigers, and bears. Many of the primates are fun to watch. The train ride through the larger animal exhibits is a big help for littler legs.

Gulf Breeze Zoo never disappoints! Its a great place to have a day filled with learning about wildlife while having the chance to view the animals at the same time! The information at the stalls is great and the animals never seem to disappoint! The monkeys at the entrance are always up to put on a show!

This is a good local attraction for all ages in the Gulf Breeze/Navarre area. The zoo is clean, has a large number of animals, and a lot of great information on all those animals. We really loved feeding the goats and giraffes and will participate in some of the additional programs on our next trip.

Wonderful Zoo for small children and the whole family! We had a nice time because we were able to see all the animals before my toddler expired or had any meltdowns. We had a nice time at the playground and on the train ride! We traveled from out of state and we able to rent a wagon for $10 and not worry about purchasing a stroller. Enjoyed it!

  • 5/5 Mary A. 3 years ago on Google
Such a fun zoo! Small enough to do in a few hours or relax and take your time and make a day of it. We got there at 930am on an overcast day, there was no line, by noon the line was out the door! Get there early and enjoy the zoo to yourself for a while. The Cafe is very pricey!!

  • 5/5 Tammy S. 3 years ago on Google
Fantastic. You are able to feed some animals. How exciting to feed a giraffe some lettuce. Awesome. My 3 year old grandson loved it. The train ride is great. Able to see animals up close. Only disadvantage-its too short of a ride. We definitely believe the gulf breeze zoo is a wonderful place to visit. We highly recommend it.

Zoo is a cool little zoo, however I will never go back. The person at the pay station when we came in was extremely rude. She was talking with her coworker rather than taking our money so we could go in. I told her my son was 2 and she snidely replied "he still gets charged kids price". I told her I was military and she said okay and when I looked at my receipt she did not give us the discount. Horrible manners and customer service.

The best part of the zoo is being able to feed the animals. Gives you a really neat experience to interact with the birds, goats and giraffes. It is a pretty small zoo and a lot of the animals looked very uncomfortable, hot and worn out. Some of the enclosures seemed too small for the animals, which was sad to see. A little pricey for the size of the zoo but good place to spend about 2 hours or so.

So fun!!! We loved feeding the animals and getting close to most of them. What a fun experience. The train is so relaxing and we loved the playgrounds for the kids to play while we took a break in the shade!

  • 5/5 Jessica S. 2 years ago on Google
We loved this place! The train ride was amazing and reminded the kids of jurassic park with the gates opening and closing. We bought the animal feed bundled for $12 and it was DEFINITELY worth it for all the animals we got to feed.

  • 5/5 Feli 2 years ago on Google
Was there on vacation, loved it! We got to meet the sloth (slot encounter), feed giraffes, feed the birds, very fun experience! The staff was super helpful and nice too, definitely recommend checking it out If you haven't.

The price is well worth it. Animals were so pretty employees were very sweet and helpful! Very surprised they keep this place very clean even the bathrooms. You get to interact with the goats and giraffes. Had a great time with my family and if I ever come back to Florida I’ll for sure visit again!

We love this zoo. Very clean, well cared for animals and enclosures. We go here every fall vacation. Our 2 year old loved the chickens and budgie cage.

  • 5/5 Shadow K. 2 years ago on Google
Honestly loved the animals and how well kept they seemed to be, each keeper that I have had the chance to chat with seems very passionate about their field of work, getting the chance to see so many exotic animals I wouldn't have the chance to see is amazing and really shows how amazing they truly are, I highly recommend taking your family to the Gulf Breeze Zoo, a little bit pricey but definitely worth it for sure!!!

  • 5/5 Caitlyn A. 2 years ago on Google
We had the BEST time at this zoo. Buy the food they have available when you purchase your ticket to be able to feed Giraffes, Goats, Birds! We rode the train which circles hippos, rhinos and gorillas! Honestly just the bird exhibit would have made the tickets worth it for my family. We really enjoyed our time here and so glad we decided to go!

  • 5/5 Darija L. 2 years ago on Google
We spent a few hours here one weekday while visiting family. Compared to other zoos, this one is quite small and pricey but great nonetheless! We were able to feed the giraffes and the goats. The lion was awake and alert, which is a rare site to see. The only down side is that we were not able to bring in any food or drinks of our own so be prepared to step out of the zoo to eat what you brought or you will have to pay to purchase food there.

  • 5/5 Kdot 2 years ago on Google
Absolutely loved this zoo. It's just the right size, has a playground for little ones, variety of animals, and the elevated board walk is unique and amazing. The train ride gives yet another amazing view of the animals. I will be visiting again!

This 50 acre zoo was a fun place to stop at before heading home after beach vacation. I’m glad we stopped. It’s a Nice environment. I love how some of the animals were roaming around and how you were able to hand feed some of the animals. Beautiful and sweet animals and the train ride that was included in the admission was fun for my 5 year old.

  • 5/5 Iron E. 2 years ago on Google
An excellent weekend adventure with so many animals, and so much to explore. I highly recommend getting that season pass, because then you can just pack the family up and go. Feeding the farm animals, birds, giraffes and highland cows as you work your way to the kangaroos, then splitting off to see the big cats and bears. So many animals, so much fun, truly a different experience every time.

  • 4/5 Lydia N. 2 years ago on Google
So it's been a long time since we had been here but it was so busy and too crowded for us. My son wanted to ride the train but the lines were so long so we didn't get to do this, but they have expanded over the years and made great improvements. Just was really over crowded for our taste but having a non verbal child it was hard trying to explain why he couldn't ride the train thus meltdown begins. Had a great time feeding the animals. Nice too see bigger playground and new animals. Just get a bigger train lol. Some of my pics here are over the years!

  • 4/5 Panther G. 1 year ago on Google
It took us around 3 hours to see the entire zoo, including taking the complimentary 15 minute guided train ride. There are several drink vending machines stationed throughout the place but they only take $1 bills and drinks are $3. That's a lot of singles for 5 people! We split a 20 oz instead of walking half the park in the sticky heat for individual drinks. The water & Gatorade machine was out of service and half the soda selection was out. The cafe near the entrance has fountain drinks and food in a cafeteria feeling but air-conditioned building. There are wagons for rent at the entrance and manual push wheelchairs but not motorized. We would have burned without sunblock & hats and were grateful for all the shady spots. It was hot & sunny on a July afternoon. There is food for purchase at the entrance to feed animals. The kids enjoyed the walk in aviary best and had birds land on them!

  • 4/5 Emilie B. 1 year ago on Google
Only thing that kept from 5 stars is the soda machines were almost all empty when we tried to get drinks. It was a hot day and one of the machines ate $3. Not a huge deal but we didn't have much cash on us at the time. Other than that, it was great!! And the restrooms were surprisingly super clean!!! Definitely will come back next time we're in town!!

This zoo really makes you feel like you are face to face and spending time with the animals! Even if you don't get the experience tickets, or feed the animals, the enclosures are built in such a way that you feel close and able to interact with most animals. The train ride is especially immersive, as you go around the back 40 amongst birds and beasts both large, like hippos and rhinos, and small like emus and small deer cousins. Food for the giraffes and Highland cows is fairly inexpensive, and lets you interact in an exciting and compelling way. Some take advantage of that and offer their children over the fence, or tease the animals with food, but there were times when the feeding areas were less populated and a calmer experience was possible.

  • 5/5 Sebastian N. 10 months ago on Google
Great zoo hands down! Plenty of feeding experiences, hardly much walking, can see all the animals in perfect habitats. Nice restaurant with traditional options but a tad pricey. I had the hot dog and fries. They were very good. Son had fresh pretzel AND they have a banana icee which is unique. Train doesn’t leave often and fills up quick so get there early to get in line. Quite a few exhibits you can only see by train.

  • 5/5 Jay H. 10 months ago on Google
Our son is less than 2 and the zoo was big enough to have a great time but not overwhelming. It was clean and the way it is designed was so interactive for our little one. There were opportunities to feed the animals including the giraffes, alligators, goats, birds, and more. They allowed us to bring a cooler that had drinks and snacks for us and our son. Honestly was a great experience overall and I would highly recommend it to my closest friends and family!

  • 5/5 Cole 11 months ago on Google
We love this zoo! It looks small from the outside but it’s a decent size! Everywhere you walk you see animals. They have shows, a really nice cafe and gift shop. Our favorite is feeding the giraffe!

  • 5/5 Kayla Z. 9 months ago on Google
A low key zoo. Perfect for little children, to see the basic animals. No elephants though.. Feeding the giraffes was a highlight. Make sure to bring quarters, as well as buying the feed options.

  • 4/5 Jessica B. 9 months ago on Google
We thought it was a great little zoo and it was nice that you could interact with pretty much all the animals but, if you have more than one child, it’s expensive. Just my personal opinion but you should be able to pay one flat rate to feed ALL the animals. Not, “if you want to feed the giraffe it’s $5.00 a cub.” “If you want to feed the petting zoo animals it’s, “$4.00 a cup.” Just make a flat rate. The train ride is included in admissions but everyone wants to ride the train (that’s not that big) and only goes around every hour so the line was ridiculously long and we did not get to do the train ride.

  • 5/5 Robert L. 9 months ago on Google
The zoo is pretty small but you get an amazing up close experience with many animals. Kids and adults loved feeding giraffes, goats, sheep, birds. Also did the sloth experience which was a bit pricey but a memory all of won't forget.

  • 5/5 James A. 6 months ago on Google
I have to admit. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the zoo and the number of animals they had. There are also animals at this zoo that I had never seen, and I have been to many zoos all around the world. The feeding experience was great and the train safari is a fun addition.

  • 5/5 Chris W. 3 months ago on Google New
This is such a great attraction to have in NW Florida. Family friendly. Easy to navigate. Lots of trees and shade. Clean. And the train ride through the back of the zoo is so much fun.
