This restaurant is a hidden gem in Tucumcari, NM. The food is excellent and the wait staff is friendly, helpful and efficient. My wife and I both had their fajitas and they were top notch!! We also had their lemon meringue for dessert!! A very memorable meal!!! They also have a great selection of beers and other adult beverages.

We had dinner at night and it was so good we came back in the morning for breakfast. We have stopped here for years and the food has always been good. The breakfast is out of this world good definitely stop in and give it a try. The new owner decided to open for breakfast and so glad they did it was the best! Service was out of this world great as well!

Warm, inviting and clean; welcoming atmosphere; good food; friendly, courteous and attentive staff. Should, however, consider improving the aesthetic quality of their dishes - food was tasty but somewhat unappealing. Customers also ‘eat’ with their eyes. Appreciated the excellent Christmas decorations which seemed to be a labor of love. Recommend it.

Restaurant was busy so I thought it would be a good place. They Han excellent salad bar, and atmosphere was nice. Real family feeling. FYI their Tucumcari T-bone wasn’t good. It was tough and tasteless. But everything else was great and management made up for the steak. I ate some of it so I didn’t expect anything in the way of compensation, but they still took some off of my bill. So I made it up in Route 66 souvenirs. I’m still giving a 4 star to them for integrity.

Lovely place! We stopped by again on our way back home from our trip because we liked it so much! Our server Marcus was very friendly & attentive! Great service & sopapillas!

This is , indeed, an iconic feature on Route 66 with all the uniqueness that goes with that. There are various areas for seating that can give you a different experience depending on the location but overall is is a comfortable and warm atmosphere. Having the salad bar as a side was a great alternative. The bar had a good variety to offer. I did not give 5 stars because although my wife ordered the Swiss and mushroom burger, it was delivered to the table without mushrooms. To her credit, the server noticed this and took it back to the kitchen only to return with the news that they were out of mushrooms. Though they didn’t charge us for the mushrooms, the kitchen should have notified the server as soon as they realized they were out but instead sent it out hoping we would be oblivious. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and would return.

It took a while for a hostess to greet us. Otherwise, I got a ribeye and mashed potatoes to go and it was good! Took about 15 minutes. I only wish they would have provided or asked if I wanted a sauce to go with the steak. The gravy was spilling everywhere. It’s also incredibly hard to eat steak in a styrofoam container because the sawing inevitably creates holes. Much of the food is a bit pricey but it was delicious, high-quality and a lot of it. The inside is a bit shabby, but it is part of that old historic charm. The gift shop had some cool items. I got myself a fridge magnet to remember my time in New Mexico. Overall, a good experience. The employees were friendly and helpful. The one getting me my food let me sub and side for a drink and even refilled my to go drink before leaving once my order was complete.

This was THE happening spot anywhere around. Our trio fajita was delicious, but our brisket burrito was enormous so ¾ of it had to come home with us for dinner the next night. The complementary chips and salsa were as freshly made as the rest of the meal. The topper was the chocolate eruption cake!! One piece is enough to share (even though you won't want to) Excellent meal - highly recommend stopping.

Referred here by our hotel desk clerks. Excellent service from Amanda. We ordered a brisket burrito, and a trio fajita. The chips and salsa we enjoyed while waiting were homemade, fresh and very tasty. The chips actually handled the salsa effortlessly. (Thin chips are one of our pet peeves) The burrito was enormous! We had to take ¾ of it back to our room since we finished every drop of the fajita. The two complementary sopapillas were a real treat with the honey. We ordered a delectable looking piece of Chocolate Eruption cake to go with the leftovers. We were pleasantly surprised by the authentic food, prepared fresh, and bursting with flavor. We've been on a 60 day road trip across the US, and back, and this is one of the best meals we've had to date. Thank you for bringing sunshine to our evening of rain, wind and unseasonal snow. ***UPDATE *** ... Ate the chocolate eruption cake tonight ... Setting our goals at going back in the morning, before we leave town, for two more!! If you're a chocolate lover, you MUST order a piece! It's decadent and worth every penny ... and calorie!

Fun taste of Americana. Thought our meal was really delicious!! The place was packed with patrons and busy. Locals and passers-through. I would highly recommend a visit!

We enjoyed our food, but not necessarily a must-try. Everything could have used a little more salt, which isn't something I expect to say. Our server was very nice and helpful. The beer battered green Chiles were our favorite part. Bathrooms left something to be desired. The restaurant was very busy, but we still received our food promptly.

This place was disappointing. It was touted as one of the definitive places to go eat for American as we were driving back home in New Mexico. But it was relatively pricey for bland and lackluster food in a state known for bold southwest flavors. The food seriously lacks seasoning, color and had no life or appeal to it. We looked at the dishes of others and it shared that pattern generally. This place seems to be catered to an older and loyal clientele with health and seasoning sensibilities and should be advertised as such. On top of that, no veterans discount and the cashier was a passive aggressive young man who seemed germaphobic. Avoid, I wish I could give it 3 stars but I cannot for various factors. Maybe luck of the draw of the dishes we chose.

For an authentic Route 66 experience visit Del's. The atmosphere is reminiscent of 1950-1970 Americana. The food is focused on Mexican cuisine, but offers some comfort staples. It is fresh and individually prepared. Local wines are served. The service is down-home great! A great experience to complement our travels.

The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars was because we waited several minutes before anyone came to seat us. Our waitress, Andrea, was super sweet. I had liver and onions and my husband had a burger. The liver was very tender. We each had a slice of pie for dessert and it was a very generous portion. We would definitely come here again.

My husband and I were in town for the night and at the recommendation of our hotel receptionist we decided to go to Del's restaurant for dinner. I am so glad we did! The service was wonderful and the food was amazing! We loved all of their Christmas decorations!

Del's is an iconic place to eat at any time, but during the holidays, it's even more special. Waiters wear a special "Christmas on Route 66" shirt, the restaurant is nicely decorated, classic Christmas music is playing and the atmosphere is festive. Hubby had a green chile cheeseburger. I had chicken fried steak with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes and gravy on the side. We really liked our dinners, and I'm glad we visited.

This was a great diner! The steak fingers where absolutely amazing. I will be back again just for those. The gravy for them made it even more amazing. The staff is friendly. The atmosphere is nice. The salad bar was good too.

We happened upon this little gem of a restaurant while heading out on vacation. Enjoyed a delicious dinner with drinks. Everything about our dining experience was excellent… so we stopped back by on our return trip for breakfast. Another great meal!! A must stop if you’re ever in the area!!

We are staying overnight at the KOA and drove to town for dinner. Not much to choose from but so happy we chose Del's!! Amanda waited on us and she is one of the best! Very pleasant and she knows the menu. If you want a wide variety of food options along with beverages, both alcohol and non-alcoholic...this is the place!! No doubt about it. I can guarantee you will love the food here as much as we did. I had the jalapeno raspberry grilled chicken breast...just typing it out doesn't it sound amazing? It was OUTSTANDING! My Cozmo was delicious (I had two!) My husband had the chicken fried steak .. he was very impressed and loved it. He also had a flight of New Mexico beer. His favorite was the La Cumbre. When we visit Tucumcari again we will be sure to have dinner at Del's Restaurant.

Great dinner experience..... Yvonne was our server....she was helpful and attentive. I ordered the carnitas tacos with rice and beans. They were perfectly prepared and very tasty. They had a great selection of local beers. Well worth the reasonable price.

Chili Relleno was the best ever! Perfect crunch and awesome green sauce says my husband. I enjoyed the wine flight and added a new NM favorite… Green Chili Wine. Try it! You won’t be disappointed. Thanks for the fun.

Very old school western Cafe feel. They offer a variety of foods. The food quality could have been better. My husband ordered a steak and ended up with lots of fat. I ordered the French dip, which came with sliced roast beef on French bread. It was very dry. I was expecting a bit more effort, but it didn't taste bad. I was also disappointed when I ordered fried ice cream off of the table menu and they didn't have any.

I drove from California to stop by the BBQ place up the street, but they were closed, so we gave this place a try. Never again! I had the hickory chicken, which was swimming in soupy BBQ sause/water. The chicken was rubbery and tasted old. The mac n cheese tasted like something a twelve year old would make themselves for lunch. It tasted like water and noodles. The steak fingers were disgusting. The only edible piece of food was the loaded baked potato. However, it was definitely not loaded with anything.

Food was awesome. Fried Chile strips were awesome. All of the Mexican dishes were amazing, especially the stacked enchiladas. Sopapilla at the end was a nice touch everyone loved. Awesome, well-loved place.

We stay in Tucumcari every 8 weeks when we travel. I am not sure how it took us this long to find this gem! We sat in the bar and Amanda was our server/bartender. She was great! Friendly and wasn't annoyed at all our questions. Food was very good, I had the enchilada /taco combo. They have beer, wine & NM made liquor. They have a large menu with lots of options. This will be our go to dinner spot on our next trip!

Nice piece of Americana, should definitely stop and check it out if you're in the area. The only reason it didn't get the full 5 stars is because the waitress seemed distracted on our visit and i feel the service could've been better. Other than that it was great!

A MUST for the Route 66 folks, Dell's is a throwback to the Mother Road. Really good food served up well by friendly folks. You will see licence plates in the parking lot from Az, Tx, Utah, mabe even Canada, - anywhere folks can drive from Photos are the Chicken Taco Salad and the 3 Taco (beef) plate. Delish!

Sometimes your experience is relative to where you are. This is not a Michelin star restaurant, but the food was what we expected given the location and historic nature of the place. We enjoyed the small town experience and would likely go back.
