My wife and I went to AQUA Hotel Onabrava & Spa to celebrate our four year anniversary. It was advertised as a 4,5 star hotel and had high expectations for this holiday. But in the end I was left a little disappointed and believe this hotel doesn’t deserve more than 3 stars — here’s why: - The first four days were spent in a room that smelled like cigarette smoke, we eventually discovered this smell came from the air-conditioning. It didn’t smell like cigarettes every time, but it seemed the air intake was somewhere where someone occasionally smoked. When I complained about the smell at the reception the third day, I was told: “Maybe someone in the room next to you is smoking.” And that was that. The next day I complained again, and we were allowed to switch rooms (I asked to be upgraded because I didn’t want to go through the hassle of switching rooms if I didn’t at least get anything better). - Luckily, our new room didn’t smell like cigarettes, but the hallway did. Nobody did anything about the smell, and it seemed smoking inside the hotel room was allowed (or at least condoned). The new room had a much better view of the sea, which was great. Sadly, we went from having a room with a bathtub to a room with just a shower. At first I didn’t mind, because at least we had a rain shower, but when I tried the rain shower out, the water was brown and the water pressure was very low. The rain shower would also occasionally “take off” and move towards the ceiling because of the water pressure, leaving me struggling to tighten it down. This happened while using the normal showerhead (because we couldn’t use the rain shower). - It rained the first few days we were there, and there were leaks everywhere, it seemed the hotel was nearly falling apart. One of the stair-railings also let loose as I was walking down the stairs, but I managed to jam it back in place. The closet in our room also had a piece of duct-tape holding something together (I didn’t inspect it any further). - My wife and I had put the do-not-disturb sign on our door, but room service disturbed us nonetheless. On another occasion, the cleaners opened the door as my wife was in the shower. - The Spa has several rules, such as no photography and no children under 16 allowed. Yet, there were parents occupying the hot tub as their children were taking pictures of them for their Instagram. There were children there on multiple occasions. - After our vacation, I’ve been having issues with strange spots on my skin, and I fear the water or hygiene may have been a cause of this. I’ve never had this problem before. All in all, this was the first and last time for me at this hotel (and probably this region of Spain).

This hotel was brilliant the staff very friendly and polite and more than willing to help you. The pool is a good size with plenty of seating around the pool with a kids pool attached. The food served in the hotel restaurant was great Although the same can not be said about the Mexican restaurant just on the edge of the hotel grounds, the food was sub par at best even the local cats wouldn’t eat the chicken that was served. With plenty of nice restaurants just short walk away it’s best to have a quick walk into town

I stayed once at this hotel a while ago. The hotel is very clean, quiet and super nice. The room was good as well. But special mention goes to the SPA area. The SPA itself is amazing, it has everything u need in. The massage is also super good, especially the girl Eli. I come back every 3-5 months just to enjoy the SPA area and massage 🙌🏼 Mexican restaurant is also great, very tasty and fast. I am happy to see this level hotel in Spain

Unfortunately, the hotel is not adapted to the service that a customer should receive in 2022. I hope that the hotel will improve the service to the guest by then. You can only get one star from me. I am very disappointed.

My family and i were visiting in the end of october, and we liked our stay. During summer season i think it will be a very busy location, but now it was quiet and nice. The room was medium clean but comfortable. The staff in the restaurant and at the frontdesk was very friendly and professional. The restaurant was very busy. The hotel is nice for familes with children, loved the garden. Nearby is a train station, there are many restaurants and shops, and you can walk to the beach.

It is with great pleasure that we recount our recent stay at this distinguished spa hotel, an experience that surpassed our loftiest expectations. Upon our arrival, we were immediately enveloped in an ambiance suffused with a delightful aquatic fragrance, setting a tone of tranquility and elegance. The hotel's lounges, resplendent in their spaciousness, offered us a haven of serenity and comfort. Each evening was transformed into a cultural tapestry with the hotel's exquisite artistic entertainment, captivating our senses and enriching our experience. Mornings were greeted with a sumptuous breakfast array, a gastronomic delight that catered to a plethora of palates. Nestled in close proximity to the azure allure of the beaches, the hotel provided an idyllic escape to nature's splendor. The spa facilities, boasting a rejuvenating sauna and an inviting swimming pool, were a sanctuary of relaxation and wellness. The convenience of private parking was a thoughtful touch, reflecting the hotel's commitment to guest comfort. Furthermore, the staff, with their commendable proficiency in both Spanish and English, were the epitome of courtesy and obliging service. Their attention to detail and warm hospitality significantly enhanced the quality of our stay.

We stayed there for seven nights, and I can say that it was a very pleasant stay. The room was spacious, with two separate beds, a bath/shower combo and a balcony. It was also very clean, the towels could be changed every day (though we opted out of it, to be eco conscious). The hotel itself was good, there was a lingering perfume-like scent in the lobby (which was not too strong but noticeable) which was enjoyable. The personnel was very friendly and could speak in a few different languages. The pool was big, though kind of cold, but we could find sunbeds easily as it was not too crowded. The bar in the lobby made good drinks, we drank almost every day alcohol-free Piña Coladas which were delicious ! The restaurant was good, even if the food selection felt kind of restricted at times... The same kinds of dishes were repeating during the same week, and I think the worst (selection wise) was the breakfast, which was always the same (kind of an English breakfast, which I do not like). I would recommend definitely the AQUA Hotel Onabrava & Spa for a relaxing stay on the Costa Brava.

Most of the staff are friendly (except the 'maitre') but there are lots of fees you have to pay additionally. As a guest you have to pay 10€ for the gym and have to leave after 2 hours. Parking costs 10€ per day. I have seen lots of hotels but you should not treat customers like that. You can find nearby gyms that will offer a day ticket for less money and there you will even find better equipment. Breakfast and dinner are very crowded and I did not feel comfortable.

First and foremost, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of my stay at this hotel in Barcelona. It was absolutely splendid. The rooms were clean and spacious, equipped with a mini fridge. We even had a balcony with lovely views of both sunrise and sunset. Additionally, it was just a 10-minute stroll away from the beach, with malls, restaurants, and entertaining shows nearby. There were plenty of touristy activities to keep us engaged. I definitely wished I had more time to explore everything. Buffet: Regarding dining, the breakfast buffet was served from 8 to 10 am, while dinner was available between 7:30 and 9:30 pm. The buffet offerings for both meals were exceptionally delightful and incredibly tasty. Transport: In terms of travel and transportation, do keep in mind that the train journey from the hotel to various destinations took approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. To reach the airport, the journey was even longer, lasting over 2 hours. However, there were a few different routes you could take. Unfortunately, due to some delays, we eventually resorted to taking a taxi. So, it's important to be mindful of the time it takes to travel anywhere. It's easy to get caught up in the city's allure and then realize you'll only have a minute left for dinner. Hahaha! Nevertheless, the people were kind and accommodating. Furthermore, the restaurant remained open until 10:30 pm, which was truly amazing! In Barcelona, they have double-decker bus-like trains, although we only used them once at night. Nonetheless, they were incredibly cool and well-maintained. Entertainment: As for entertainment options, this place had it all. There were tapas bars, music venues, game and leisure rooms, spas, gyms (further down), archery, shooting ranges, and more. They catered to families as well, so there was something for everyone. Spa/Gym: The access fee for the spa and gym was €10-20 per person, and there was also a €10 cash deposit required for towels and locker keys. You'd get the deposit back upon returning them after use. The spa area was absolutely beautiful, featuring Jacuzzi pools, a sauna, a cold pool (maintained at 14 degrees), a hot pool (at a toasty 42 degrees), a steam room, and a nice pool at a comfortable 24 degrees. Moreover, there was an awesome encounter with many sportspeople (possibly related to a bodybuilding event by the IFBB). It was an enjoyable experience. Additionally, they had a large saltwater pool with varying depths. The changing rooms' showers were equipped with good pressure and hot water. Soap was readily available, and there were hooks to hang your belongings. These small details truly added to the overall charm of the hotel. Service: Regarding the service, all the staff members we encountered were friendly and helpful. However, it's worth noting that the hotel doesn't have heating. If needed, you can request thick and cozy blankets from the reception to keep warm during the night. They are heavy and warm. Additionally, for a small fee ranging from €25-40, you could book a few extra hours after the check-out time. This proved to be quite helpful on our last day, allowing us to enjoy our stay without any worries. Overall: Overall, I absolutely loved this hotel and would highly recommend it. I only wish our stay could have been longer. The only downside was the distance from the city, but thankfully, there were transport links available such as trains R1 and RG1. On sunny days, the RG1 route provided stunning panoramic views of the beach and coastline. Furthermore, it had toilets onboard (although we only spotted it running on Mondays and not on Saturdays or Sundays).

Loved the hotel, loved the location, loved the food, loved the staff and especially Rosa! I was traveling alone and I felt very seen and welcome by Rosa and the other staff. Unfortunately I had fallen ill during my holiday so it ended way too fast but I was glad to stay at Onabrava. See you all next year! And say hi to Rosa for me. - Romy

It's been over a year when me and my mom spent a wonderful summer here in June. I promised Abdullah from the kitchen to write a Google review, but I forgot. I am sorry, Abdu! I loved the hotel facilities, the staff, and it was always clean and smelled amazing. There was a lot of choice during breakfasts and dinners, which is, for me, essential, and it was all delicious. The entertainment team was great, and it was always fun doing activities with them in the pool and watching them at night. We recommend this hotel to others if they are looking for relaxation and fun. When we decide to come to Santa Suzana next time, this hotel will definitely be our first choice.

This is an OK hotel. Pros: the rooms are nice, with great views, the entertainment is definitely entertaining, and the lobby, pool, etc, are all nice, well-decorated spaces. Onto the cons: hotel staff forgot to clean our room, to replace our bath towels, and refused to accommodate us for an excursion with a packed lunch (we paid for the lunch buffet). While some food items were good, the shrimp were appalling and other dishes tasted like they'd been left on the counter for too long.

We went on this holiday as a family holiday. 20 people in total. We had a very good time there. The hotel is lovely and the pool area was great. We had buffet breakfast and dinner and the choices were really good and the quality was also very good. The most special part of the hotel was the staff. Everyone we encountered were both friendly and pleasant and the entertainment staff did an excellent job full of enthusiasm and energy. A really great stay. Thank you Aqua hotel Onabrava.

To be fair: food was 4*, baby club with Aisha 5*, outside are and pool 4*, room was ok however I would expect a bit mire from 4* hotel. The customer service at the reception and the dining was not impressive. The spa is nice but not flexible with hours or price when traveling with kids. We did not have chance to use the outside pool so having strict time for outdoor pool was a bit disappointed and also the price. I would also expect better customer service at the reception explaining things and that not happened. But I am sure a lot of people will enjoy the hotel and the amenities that is offering.

Signs for the buffet were so worn it difficult to read and often super vague like "vegetable". This makes meals extra difficult for those with food allergies. Otherwise there was a good selection of food and service was fantastic.

Nice hotel with good service. Rooms are clean and have place to work if needed (table with chair). Bed is king size and very comfortable. Wifi works good and covers whole territory including rooms. Main lobby has many comfortable places to seat with company or work or even read books (there is a book shelf there)

The room was great, nice size and clean. Whilst I didn't get to try the outside pool, I was able to get full use of the Spa pools, Sauna and Steam rooms and they were fantastic! The hotel has a great location close to the tourist office, train station and of course the beach. The food was nice with a different variety every night. I even treated myself to a wonderful mamassge from Eli! I would definitely recommend a stay and treatment here! Thank you Onabrava!

The hotel is lovely, rooms nice but bed hard and no kettle, ther was a hole in the wall. They don’t cater for British the entertainment team at night only talk in German I think certainly no English at all. Breakfast awful no English bacon even had chicken nuggets and veg at breakfast 😂 the staff on reception and the dinner very ignorant against the British.

Very disappointed! I felt my self in the nursing home, not in family hotel. Only few families with children and ather people was very old people who are most of the time disturbed by babies. What's on the pictures and what's in reality, 2 different things. No kettle in the room and not even small bottle of water as is considered for 4 stars hotel. All supplies was just for one person in the room and we was 2 adults and one small child. Asked for a view to the pool, as being with small child and pregnant which made me to stay mostly in the room, they gave us view to the private sector with very noisy neighbors, which mostly has many activities at night! The room was cleaned well but many black long hair left everywhere inside. The floor around the pool was very slippery. Not much activities for young people, nothing at all for small children. The night entertainment was very poor. The beach is close to the hotel, but was disgusting to see old women topless around everywhere. The food was delicious and the chefs there were very friendly. All the drinks must be paid, even 50gr of cheap cup of tea which cost a lot! Never met this in any hotel from many countries i visited. The staff in general very good but some of them they don't speak English at all ! If this is standard for Spain, then ill never come back again!

Being 4*s hotel some things were just not up to standards to our opinion. Its a SPA hotel and you have to pay extra to enter..ok its not that much so be it. Even though still surprising. But not having bathrobes? You may be saving and not to put them in rooms but they should be at least available in the SPA. Not to mention that spa itself could use some decorating or perhaps plants not to feel like in public pool. No kettle in the rooms. Fine if its available upon request. But no, we had to go down to bar and pay 10€ to get kettle with the teabags!First we were told its deposit, that other person told us no, its charge..this would be maybe fine in 3* service. At the check in we weren't ask if we would like to put down credit card to be able to charge extras to room so we had to pay for everything right away. Would be nice to be given option. There were many details that could be worked on to provide much smoother and higher standard services. Staff in the bar should know what is the program of the day will there be music in the music bar and at what time etc..Yes there are displays somewhere where you can find that information but again..its about providing better service. The food was nice for breakfast and dinner also the staff was managing pretty well the crowds so thank you goes to them for their hard work and effort.

The hotel itself is beautiful. The rooms are very nice and there a is a little market right by the hotel. The food was really yummy, not much choice for Vegans/vegetarians tho. The reason for my rating is because some staff were really rude to us. When asking for directions, things to do. It was like they were trying to brush us off. The day we left our transport was a bit late and we had asked the reception lady to call for us and she refused. They not that helpful.

Good value. Pitty, the maids get in the room whether or not the sign "not disturb" is on the door. And when you tell them, they laugh. Your answer is disgraceful! Of course you were aware of it as I reported it to the reception. You're a joke!

Pool 5 stars Entertainment 5 stars Reception 5 stars Fitness en spa (for witch you pay extra) 4 stars (rusty material) Food 3 stars (mostly disappointing) But the worst part... The bed... Trust me the Flintstones had a better bed. Do yourself a favor and buy an inflatable bed on day one.

Nice hotel. Sadly pesky security personel asking single women by the pool for their room number, which is very unsafe. I would never give my room number to a stranger. I recommend not hiring random bullies to chase aways guests.

3 days Stayed. Terrible receptionist service. When I forgot key in the room and asked for another one, the rolled of the eyes were my response back. By the time of my stayed there were tickets offered to the Barcelona game that we could obtain through the hotel, and when asked they said they had nothing to do, that they couldn't help us. One night we had a rainy day, and lobby was flooded in water. The first day of our stayed we order a sangria to the room, for 2 days straight the same sangria remain in the room. Not a good Cleaning service. Beds were hard, couldn't even sleep well. Just wasn't the expectations they give. Definetely not a 4 star hotel.
