Staying here was such a nice way to spend my Camino journey. The staff are really lovely and go the extra mile to provide service. The breakfast was great, there was a good range of foods and a guide detailing allergens for each product. There was fresh barista coffees as well which was a treat. The churros were delicious, I was very excited to have them for breakfast before leaving Spain. The rooms were very comfortable & clean. The hotels only a 2 minute walk from the cathedral which was perfect to ensure I made it to the 7.30am pilgrims mass! It also meant I was very close to the hotel to be able to see the live music in the square outside the cathedral. It was magical. I definitely recommend staying here if you are in Santiago.

Lovely quaint hotel right in the centre of Santiago and a 30 second walk to the Cathedral. Staff were really nice and checked us in before looking after my in-laws as we headed upstairs to get ready. Room was lovely and had all you can ask for. No view sadly but we were not disappointed at all given the quality of the room and service. Didn't have breakfast as we were happier out exploring the area and got breakfast out! 👍

Staff are incredibly helpful, friendly and kind. Location unbeatable and even though it is very central, it's a very quiet street and we slept extremely well. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Literally behind the cathedral. Must park in an underground garage, which is a few minutes walk away and transport bags to hotel. They were very gracious. Front desk person walked us to the cathedral museum where we were meeting our tour guide. Breakfast option is worth it. They also keep your bags after check out so you can wait until you're ready to go to your car.

Overall incredible experience. Great location, wonderful staff, and very nice accommodations. Probably the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in.

Lovely hotel with very helpful and wonderful reception staff. Comfortable rooms, next to the Cathedral so a better location you will not find. Surrounded by restaurants and all the atmosphere of those finishing the Camino. Ideal end to the Camino but book early as the hotel is very sought-after and booked, quite understandably . Thanks Cristina for all your help.

We are Australians who have just completed the Camino de Santiago. This was our third stay at Hotel Rua Villar and our experience is always very positive. The staff are very kind, helpful and gracious, happy to share information about this beautiful city and the attractions available. Rua Villar has a unique understanding of the Pilgrim struggles after completing a Camino and everything possible is done to provide comfort, rest and refreshments. I am more than happy to recommend this hotel.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff. We arrived after midnight and was greeted with open arms from Martin, had no problems checking in. We were in room 304 was on the smaller side but I think that was their basic room, nice clean, updated, comfortable bed, super clean bathroom and quite. We had breakfast there, small fee and selections, but good. Located in the city center, suggest booking early.

I stayed at Hotel Rua Villar at the end of my Camino, and it was such a treat! The hotel is very central, just a few steps from the Cathedral in a lovely street, and the room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. The hotel provides a service of bed and breakfast, and the breakfast buffet has a wide choice of deliciously fresh food. The staff really shines, as many other reviewers have pointed out: they are all friendly and helpful, both with practical things like luggage storage and assistance with taxis AND with the local knowledge to recommend places to visit or where to buy local products that you might want to take home as genuine souvenirs. I can't recommend this hotel enough, and personally I will definitely stay there again if I am back to Santiago.

First class. Super location. Lovely building with excellent rooms. Quiet and relaxing, convenient for the cathedral, shops, park and market. The staff are excellent; reception, dining room and cleaning personnel were all super friendly, helpful, considerate and efficient. Highly recommended.

Great location. Since it's in an old, historic building and the rooms don't have noise isolation, you can hear people talking and walking by, which can make it difficult to rest.

Really great place to stay after the el Camino de Santiago. The staff were so lovely and obliging - there's a 24/7 reception and everyone was only too happy to help. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The shower and room itself were very spacious. The location is excellent - close to everything. The churros in the morning were really good too! Highly recommend and would stay again.

The staff here are just incredible. They all radiate happiness. It was a pleasure to be in their company. All questions answered with a smile, helped us with baggage transit options, breakfast was great. Thanks

Fantastic location! Right behind Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. Short walking to the famous Shadow, the museum, and plenty of restaurants. The Hotel is small, friendly front office. The room is supposed to be vintage - depending on your preference. It’s dark and quite humid for my liking. My biggest problem were the cleanliness of the room and the wifi. On the cleanliness, I got a room on 2nd floor and the blanket was really dusty. I felt itchy using them so I used my own (which I shouldn’t have since this is a private hotel, not an albergue). The toilette. Especially the bathtub was dusty and I needed to clean it myself too. On the wifi. My room (level 2, corner room) got NO wifi! I can’t access anything and need to move to living area to use the wifi. I asked two receptions and both can do nothing as they said it’s because of the room location and the stone wall. I still think it is a charming small hotel but the wifi and cleanliness need to be improved

It is the best opción near the Cathedral. It is an architectural jewel in down town. The tub hot shower was so great for a tired peregrina! My room were such a good size room and confortable. The personel take care of all details in my stying even tours. Lo recomiendo 100%.

My friends and I arrived at Santiago at the end of February after at 30 day trip on the Camino. So we're looking for a nice place to stay and relax. A friend recommended the "Hotel Rua Villar" and I am still so very happy that we stayed there! The rooms and the whole building are super cozy, located in the middle of the old city of Santiago. We didn't use the breakfast service so I don't have any opinion about this. My special thanks goes to the lovely team that was so very friendly and caring. If I have the chance I'd like to stay at this hotel again.

Fantastic experience at this hotel. While Google may show it as a 3 star, we definitely received the 5 star experience from the staff! 💪🏽 Very friendly, and Jose when we called was excellent in guiding us. You can’t drive in and park, but who cares! The close walk is fun! BUT the location to the plaza and church is excellent and tons of great restaurants!!

Amazing service! We stayed here after finishing the camino and could not have been more pleased. The room was beautiful and the service was absolutely outstanding. The best place we stayed during our entire trip.

A really lovely, warm and very hospitable place to stay. The staff, from those at the front desk, to those in the kitchen, were, without exception, warm, polite and always willing to help with answers to questions. My room on the first floor was very comfortable indeed, as was the lounge area where I spent a couple of hours after I had booked out and whilst waiting to go to the airport for my flight home. I highly recommend this Hotel. Regards and very best wishes, Sue from Western Australia.

This hotel is located so close to the Cathedral, and very central to many of the restaurants and shops in Santiago de Compostela. The rooms where clean and spacious. And what made this hotel special is the staff who were extremely friendly, very knowledgeable about the city, and has great suggestions of where to eat. Whatever we needed, they help provide for. And they had a generous supply of umbrellas for the weather.

Great central place to stay. I stayed after the Camino and the relaxed atmosphere and great amenities (finally a bath!) were a welcome change of pace. Friendly staff who help make your stay amazing without hesitation and help with 5* travel organisation (PCRs, taxis etc) Highly recommend.

The best service ever! The hotel is located just a few steps from the Cathedral, and that makes it very convenient. Rooms are spacious, and well maintained. Extremely clean. However , the best part of this small hotel is the superb service. Sandra did my check in late at night, with a big smile and the willingness to even carry my very heavy backpack through the stairs. Everyone else is also amazing, helping with recommendations on what to do , where to go, etc. I will stay at this hotel again next time when I come back to walk another part of the Camino de Santiago.
