The city of Santiago in Dominican republic it's close to the airport and the have beautiful place to visit,the food 🥑 it's excellent and the people are very good.

Awesome hotel excellent staff. The only issue I had was the $7.00 bottle of wine with a twist off top they were selling for $60. Be weary at their tapas bar this wine should not even be in this hotel. Manager did nothing to reaolve after his own shock and dismay at the twist off.

Really enjoy staying here when I am in Santiago. The hotel is beautiful, outrageously clean, the staff couldn't be any more friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is incredible! The Grouper is by far the best I've had in ages! They also know how to make my cocktail perfectly, thank you! The casino is a manageable size, safe, secure and fun.

Overall this was a good place. The rooms are nice and the service is some of the best. Breakfast is buffet style and you have an assortment of foods to choose from. There is also a restaurant as well. The location has a great pool to hangout and the gym is nicely up kept. I also appreciated the hotel shuttle. I arrived around 3am and the arranged to pick me up. Lastly, they do have a space outside to smoke a cigar. This is a great hotel and would stay again!

Hotel is very well kept but staff treatment was varying. Treated Dominican clients very different from American clients. Very overpriced food and low quality for price. Need to pay pricey entrance fee for guests - so if there for business and want to bring someone for dinner need to pay $50 dollar entrance fee and then the large prices for mediocre food, and if they are local they will be helped after all foreign guests. Pool is nice but rooms by pool very loud despite being half empty.

I stayed at Hodelpa Gran Almirante for 3 days while visiting from the U.S. and had a wonderful stay. From the moment I arrived at the front door, I felt very welcomed. I was greeted by a young man who took my luggage from the taxi and waited patiently while I checked in. The staff at the front desk were very nice and welcoming and got me checked in promptly even though I was a bit early. I really appreciated that as I was tired from the travel and was hoping I wouldn't have to wait. The lobby area is beautiful and spacious with a lot of seating available if you just want to sit there and relax. Once checked in, the young man escorted us to our room and explained where all of the amenities are located and what time everything opens and closes. He took our luggage into the room and unloaded it for us, and we were left to relax. The room was nice and the air conditioning worked very well, which I was hoping for because I can't sleep well in the heat. We were given vouchers for complimentary drinks as well as complimentary massages. We did use the drink vouchers but didn't have time for the massages. The rooftop pool was beautiful and very relaxing. We spent an evening there with my girlfriends son and his girlfriend, which the hotel allowed me to bring in as guests. The ladies enjoyed the pool while we enjoyed some beers. The young lady serving drinks at the bar was great! I wish I could remember her name because she was very sweet. The breakfast is buffet style and has a huge amount of options to choose from. There were options with dishes I'm familiar with as well as local dishes that really enjoyed like the smashed plantains! We had lunch and dinner at the restaurant, which was delicious, and all of the staff during every meal was fantastic. There was one young lady in particular who, I wish I remembered her name, helped us greatly during breakfast and dinner. I can't give enough compliments about this establishment. It was the best experience I've ever had at a hotel and I will stay here every time I come to this beautiful country. I'm already looking to come back later this summer and look forward to staying here again. Thank you all for making my stay there a fantastic time.

Perfect Place to stay when visiting Santiago de Los Caballeros. Familiar ambient. Nice Restaurants, excellent pool and outdoor installation

It's so strange how hotels are rated like they are movies. Giving stars to a hotel to me is pathetic. Anyhoo...according to my experience with hotels, I can't get why this hotel is rated 4.5 stars. To be honest, I'd give it a 3.2 star.

When I got there, I was told I was getting a room upgrade. That was awesome!!. The room was big with a lot of storage space. My window view was a wall, nothing to see, but I didn't care. I did not spend time in the room anyway. You can go to the casino and spend some time there. If you smoke cigars, they have a designated area for it. Very courteous, respectful, attentive, professional staff members. The food was great. You should try the chicken stuff with ricotta cheese or the "chivo". The pool is really clean and well kept. It seems they are upgrading the jacuzzi area. I really liked the entire experience, so I decided to go to one of their hotels in Playa Dorada Puerto Plata. "Emotions ".

The staff was very helpful and attentive. They even sang happy birthday to my lady without being asked. My room was excellent and came back and had snacks waiting for me. that was great too. I didn't find it very expensive. food in the restaurant was good and priced well. the location seemed convenient to points of interest. The Casino was decent, and there was a Friday's Restaurant next door (I didnt go there). easy drive from airport too. very mice experience. If I go back to Santiago thats where Im staying

One of the nicer places and locations in Santiago. Friendly staff, nice service. Quiet most of the time. Rooms starting to become a little dated but still nice and clean.

Staying at the Hodelpa Gran Almirante was a great experience for my family and I. The facility is immaculate with a real resort feel to it. The infinity pool with a magnificent view of the mountains, and the delicious restaurant were great, but the real star of the show was the staff. Every single member of the team went out of their way to help us feel at home, and they made our time their feel very special. Thank you!

The staff here are all friendly. Nice rooms, beautiful pool and the food is delicious. Elizabeth at Guest Services is the best. She took the time to assist me. She was very courteous.

Very nice, large rooms. They have a pillow menu to give you the best rest possible. Breakfast was great. Enjoyed the variety of fruits and quite a lot of other tasty treats. The meeting rooms are big and modern. Very nice place to stay.

Excellent location close to Plaza International and cab ride to Circus and a great pool area.

The Gran Almirante is by far one of the most best hotels I have stayed in . I have traveled extensively over the years and have stayed in countless hotels but nothing has come close to the quality and service that has been provided by the Gran Almirante . The staff are polite , courteous, helpful and always have a smile on their faces . It shows throughout the whole hotel the an unmatched amount of high quality customer service. I would especially like to thank and compliment the entire staff that handles the Continental Breakfast. Specifically these employees (Hilary Alba, Yadilka Gonzals, Pedro Silveno, Aymet Moncion, Leovinci Reinoso). They along with all the staff of the Hotel have made this stay memorable and comfortable and I will definitely return to the Gran Almirante anytime I’m in Santiago . The Hodelpa Hotel chain should be proud of the employee's of this establishment as they make it a true 5 star experience.

Very expensive for a very meh experience. Airbnbs in the area are much nicer for a better price.

Enjoyed the ambiance and the roulette here. I’m not much of a gambler, but I did win both times I visited and the crowd was always pleasant.

No more free drinks when you gamble,and the front desk doesn't allow you to go to the pool area any longer

Excellent location in Santiago. Clean, large and comfortable rooms. The staff are all very polite and customer oriented. The food and service in Tapas restaurant is fantastic. The included breakfast buffet is excellent as well. Customer service is outstanding here. Free shuttle to and from STI is also a big plus. The UBER drivers in Santiago attempt to overcharge on all airport pick ups and demand payment in cash. The hotel shuttle driver was right outside the arrivals door waiting for me and it was greatly appreciated.

I have men to a lot of these countries in the past few years. No place as treating me better than this place. Everybody greeted me with a smile at all times everybody made me feel important. I never had to look for anyone to help as it seemed that I was with someone there was available. Everybody greeting me with a smile and always were able to answer every question I had. I will not visit this city without staying here again. The cleanliness of the room was amazing. The room itself was the nicest room I've seen in any of these countries. As a matter of fact the entire hotel which showed it had been there for some time but it was kept in top condition. I have major sleep apnea and insomnia but the bed in this place was so comfortable with six fluffy pillows I could put myself in any position I want and sleep well. A++ to the staff of this hotel. I would warn everyone that stays here to be extremely cautious of the casino next door. That casino may let you get away with a small win the first night but I caught them cheating on the second time several times. Fast hands were not fast enough. No one wins with as many high hands as they did in a row. I've been in the casinos All over the world my entire life and I don't mind losing as long as I get to play the game however being robbed is a different thing and a horrible feeling. I don't like obvious rip offs like this place did to me so I took my losses cashed out and left. I can go into details but it's not worth it just stay away from that casino as it is not an honest casino. I don't know what concept they don't get when somebody goes there to play and knows they're going to lose money playing why they wouldn't just let it play out instead of putting an all out attack with four people as dealers standing around one person playing. Done in its own had every bit of the fraud dealings. No one gets 5 hand flushes 18 straight games when a deal of the previous link and never qualify but once in a while. It didn't take four dealers the first night playing and having fun. I recommend to stay away from that casino or go in one night take your winnings and leave Don't ever go back because you'll pay 10 times more money for it. Just approve how this casino operate I played a slot machine just in front of the cashiers to prove a point. Within 10 minutes I was hitting big to wear the machine was sat there ringing for almost 10 minutes. I instantly cashed out and walked away. That is how they operate they wanted me to keep playing as they were going to change the odds of the game from behind the counter. Casino knowledge I've learned over the years.

After traveling 18 days throughout the Dominican Republic, Puerto Plata, Las Terrenas, Samana, La Romana, Santo Domingo, our last vacation days were at the Hodelpa Gran Almirante in Santiago. This was truly the highlight accommodations made particularly memorable by the welcome reception from the Manager Domingo Diplan. The facility (reception area, both pool areas and our room) was spotless, the staff attention was first rate and the restaurant was simply excellent. Over the course of our stay, we dined with the dinner menu choices of fresh Red Snapper, Churrasco and Chivo. The breakfast buffet was extensive and equally excellent. Many thanks to Domingo and his staff for creating our wonderful memories!

Excellent hotel, very nice and spacious rooms with soft beds. Its centrally located in Santiago and has several amenities on the premises in case you want to just relax a bit after a day in the city.

Great hotel ! Very nice accommodations. Service is amazing! Staff is really nice, food available almost all the time. Room service is such a huge bonus. I was very happy about it, I got in late and food was still available to order. The Sancocho was amazing as well as the Salmon dish. Casino downstairs seems to be very active and popular, I didn't get a chance to check it out but looked fun. Very clean hotel, rooms Air conditioner is very strong lol room was freezing! But you can turn it down or off if you want.
