I
walked
through
the
busy
streets

Santo
Domingo,
I
couldn't
help
but
feel
a
sense
of
excitement.
I
was
on
my
way
to
Don
Pepe,
a
restaurant
that
had
been
recommended
to
me
by
several
locals
as
the
place
to
go
for
authentic
Dominican
cuisine.
As
I
entered
the
restaurant,
I
was
struck
by
the
cozy,
intimate
atmosphere.
The
walls
were
adorned
with
colorful
paintings

the
air
was
filled
with
the
smells

roasting

I
perused
the
menu,

a

But

Don
Pepe

I
