Located down a small lane-way, past one other (Mona) homestay to the parking and reception area. I was able to check in at 1300 hrs to the Deluxe Room 2 which is upstairs. The deluxe room is a reasonable size, has good AC, small refrigerator, electric kettle, decent wardrobe, an L shaped couch/folding bed but a small TV on a pivot arm. The lighting was quite dim but the bedside lamps created a nice atmosphere. I found the couch took up space and would have preferred a small table and chair. There were no cups or glasses in the room but can be provided on request. The combination pad for the in room safe did not work so I was offered a key instead. The lockable draw inside the wardrobe was permanently locked and key missing. The bathroom is also a good size with reasonable pressure and hot water, not great, but adequate. Unfortunately the light for the stairs shone through the bathroom window, all night. The complimentary 2 bottles of water is for the first day only. Soft drinks, water and beer are available at reception. Breakfast can be purchased for 25,000 Rp, if not included in your room deal. It is a simple but adequate breakfast of toast, an egg, fruit and coffee, or nasi goreng, an egg, fruit and coffee. The pool is small but big enough for children to play in but this makes things a bit noisy for others in the small, enclosed area.The area around the pool is pleasant. The tables and chairs around the pool are nice enough to sit at and offer good WiFi speeds. WiFi in my room was quite good but I overheard others complaining (possibly in relation to the studios, further away from the reception area). The standard rooms and superior rooms looked (for me) a better option. The 4 studio flats are away from the pool and reception, so quieter, with a pleasant garden area. The small lane-way has some lighting and felt safe enough to use at night. Easy walk to beach (12 minutes) or minimarts (2 minutes) or larger supermarkets (10 Mins)

We stayed 3 nights at Semarandana in February 2020 pre-covid (barely). It was clean, the staff were friendly and it had a great pool which was awesome to come back to when you've been out in Bali's humidity. Handy to lots of sight seeing in Sanur. Recommended

Quiet location but central to everything. Clean. Lovely pool and gardens. Fast internet. Good aircon + fan. Breakfast is enjoyable and included in the price. The cost of rooms is reasonable. The bed is large but could be a bit more comfortable. But most of all, the staff are lovely. I recommend Semarandana for couples, but not for singles or families.

We booked 3 nights in the Semarandana. Due on the rate and the hotel images, we did not expect too much - but based on the reviews we expected at least a small, nice and decent hotel off the main road in Sanur. From the very beginning it was a completely disappointing experience. The receptionist requested a 3% extra charge for card payments. We refused to pay this as it is simply illegal in Indonesia to a surcharge for CC payments as well as not in accordance with the OTA hotel owner agreements. This regulation was introduced by the Indonesian National Bank already many years ago, but unfortunately, a few store and hotel owners are still on the fraudulent side. We ended up paying the surcharge as the hotel otherwise requested cash payment suggesting the next ATM.... (it's not about the money - the 3% was a very small amount, but it's just against the law and not fair to legally operated businesses). The room itself was superficially clean and the air conditioning worked - but that was the only positive. Everything else hasn´t seen any maintenance since years. The mattress was completely worn out and in desperate need of replacement. The wooden bed creaked with every movement. In the end, we both woke up with massive back pain after the first night. The sofa in the room was in a similar condition - completely sagging. The bathroom facilities were very poor. There was only one medium-sized towel per person, and what was described as "toiletries" turned out to be a bar of soap. Yes, there was a flat-screen TV, but it was the smallest size available. Conclusion: Everything in the equipment list was available, but in each case in the minimal version and only recognizable with a lot of imagination. Contrary to the pictures, the pool is super small, and instead of the staff clearing it of leaves, they hang around looking at their smartphones. We decided to leave this awful place early in the morning and finally had 2 more wonderful days in another hotel in Sanur.

Good value for the money, the hospitality by host and the staff is great ! Room is a bit dark although have many lights, maybe the lamp just need to upgraded but absolutely recommend for this place !!!

Good breakfast. Polite staff. However, I had been bitten by bedbugs a few hours after I slept. I arrived late evening, my room is downstairs near the pool area. Due to tiredness, I never bothered to check the bed, since I thought they are checking it before a guest arrives. After a few hours, I felt bugs creeping, and was shocked to see these creepy bugs all over. To my horror, I did complain but never knew I could file a formal complaint to the local authorities, because I am scared I only went there for an international conference. I had to took steroids for a week to reduce inflammation and itchiness. I also could not dress properly for two months due to the scars.

Lovely little place with a great atmosphere. Rooms are good and have everything you need. Pool is very nice and refreshing. Breakfast is really good and cooked freshly on order. Staff is super nice an friendly.

Very helpful and pleasant staff. After I booked I got a nice message directly from the hotel confirming my stay. Room was very clean. AC was great. Breakfast was amazing. I had the omelette. The chef is very talented.

The rooms are big. The service is great, they always keep the common areas clean and asked me every single day if I wanted my room to be cleaned. The location is good, close to many restaurants and shops.

We had a really good stay here. The room is spacious and there is a free large drinking water tank in the room - great idea ! The pool is nice and the staff were helpful. Would recommend.

Spent 4 nights here. Very comfortable beds, quiet location just a short walk to beach, shopping and restaurants. We had a king studio, big room with cooking facilities. Small pool but nice. Breakfast was basic but nice. The omelette is really good. Friendly, helpful staff.

100% would recommend, everything is amazing about this hotel. Comfiest bed in Bali, with amazing pillows.
