Khusk-i-Shikar (hunting lodge) built by Firuz Shah Tughlaq in the 14th Century, perhaps used as an observatory too. There's a stepwell next to it, now known as Pir Ghaib, refers to an islamic saint who occupied the ruins & one day just vanished.

Front part of the monument is in ruins. Stairs are there to climp up to first floor. People come here on thursdays to light up lamps and there is a Baba who claims to ward off the evil spirits with all his mantras and a peacock feather broom.

I admitted my mother to Bada Hindu Rao Hospital's icu due to her heart related problem. While going around the place, I discovered this historical ruin of the 14th century. Whenever, I felt sad, I spent some time with myself. I felt healed.

Peer Ghaib is a monument from Tughlaq's period which was used as hunting lodge but now it is looked at as a haunted place. This building is within the campus of Bara Hindu Rao Medical College and Hospital. This Bara Hindu Rao was being used by the Britishers as their army HQ., during first freedom struggle. Peer Ghaib got its name because of a Muslim saint who had occupied this deserted dilapidated 2-storey structure before his eventual death. However, one day he was not seen in his usual place and no one could find him either dead or alive. So, this Kushak-a-Shikar i.e. hunting lodge got a new name Peer Ghaib (literally meaning Peer vanished. When we visited there, the main entry gate was open but all stairs leading to upper floor were either locked or permanently blocked. Still, enterprising youths can easily cross the hurdle by jumping over it. It is an ASI protected monument and construction of it is attributed to Firoz Shah Tughlaq.

Pir Ghaib is related to a saint who got disappear inside this monument. It is controversial but some says it was built in Tughlaq period. Though the building is in ruined conditions, many visitors comes here to see its spooky mystery. Part of the Northern ridge its one of the places you should not miss being a history enthusiast.

The outer stairs are difficult to climb, not for children or old age people, though the inner stairs are accessible to all. The view is okay. Some part of Kamla Nehru Ridge is visible.

Pretty small space, although very interesting if you can climb to the upper parts of the building. :)

The medieval period monument is decently maintained. Getting here could be an issue as Buses and Metro don't come here. You, either, get off the e-rickshaw near St Stephens College (board from Vishwavidyalaya Station) or the back side of Bara Hindu Rao Hospital (board from GTB Nagar Station) OR take an auto rickshaw.
