EDIT: FAKE REVIEWS BY DESOTA MANAGEMENT / PINNACLE The apartment is clearly in panic mode about their subpar building and is offering "rent specials" like a low rent operation already....and is posting fake reviews below....at least one confirmed....and doesn't even live here she lives in Tampa and is a leasing management consultant. par for the course by bait and switch company. Claims that this place is "SOUND PROOF" are laughable!!! marginally true as to exterior....but interior walls are a VISUAL barrier only. NO SOUND is blocked at all. No matter how intimate. and folks saying they have never seen or smelled smoke are either fake and lying or are olfactory challenged. Sad for Downtown Sarasota that this place is going downhill so quickly. I am not sure how a brand new building was allowed to devolve into a nasty pet smelling smoke hole in less than a year. The mismanagement and poor construction will make this an albatross on downtown sarasota quickly. No way rent renewals will happen at these rates for what you get. I have seen the pet waste from the dog run trash can blow into the hot tub on windy days MORE THAN ONCE. Other posts are correct that if smoke bothers you ...STAY AWAY. It is not non smoking as several tenants smoke nightly on balconies. Also, be prepared for 4am hot tub parties where it is clear drugs are being consumed (saw before an early flight). The pet run stench makes grilling VERY unappealing in certain weather conditions....not sure how that thing is legal. Repairs are not made on timely basis. (been waiting for months in a brand new apartment!!) Walls so thin you are in a threesome every night whether you want to be or not. Great location and good gym are positive notes....but management allows one guy to conduct his annoying personal training classes in there so be prepared to share it with non residents. (might be ok if he knew what he was doing. ha!) A nice touch was all the pool chairs being stored on top of the dog urine in the dog run while they supposedly worked on the super slick pool tiles. disgusting!!! (pic below) no guest parking and only one parking space per unit shows you all you need to know about the planning that went into this place. a 3 bedroom apartment with one space? not logical. also...no onsite security....they come from another location when you call them. SAFE!!!!

I toured the apartments today with Katherine. The views are to die for! The appliances are new and look great. The apartment itself is very spacious. The view from the balcony and pool is great because it overlooks the water. The layout is beautiful. I will certainly be calling this place my new home!

As a recent tenant I can not recommend the Desota. The staff has been unprofessional and unresponsive. The company does not follow proper procedures for landlord/tenant relations and Florida law. The move out procedures are very difficult, and they delay in holding deposits owed for no cause and after lease was complete never stopped taking rent withdrawal. They blame The CA parent for all the issues and delays. I would be very cautious in becoming a tenant as I have experienced firsthand being taken advantage of from this company.

Living at The Desota over the past 3 years has been amazing! Starting with the spectacular view from my apartment, to the super accommodating staff, It truly couldn’t be a better living experience. Laura and Rae are always so welcoming, they go above and beyond for the residents & they also seem to know everyone’s name, even their pets! Covid has been challenging but the entire staff has done a great job of continuing to provide extraordinary experiences and stellar customer service. If you’re looking for a place in the city I would certainly recommend the Desota because of the stunning sunset views, amenities, and the staff.

I had a great time living at the Desota. It’s the best apartment rental downtown. I felt very safe and the staff were phenomenal. Laura has gone above and beyond from day one and until we moved out.

I lived at the Desota for about 2 years and had a phenomenal experience!!! The units are luxurious, clean, quiet, and modern. The pool and gym are great, and everything is kept very clean. The front office and management team have been kind, welcoming, and always professional. I would absolutely recommend the Desota - it's a truly wonderful place to live!

The Desota is located in the heart of Sarasota, making it easy to walk or ride to dining and shopping. The building is well managed with maintenance available when needed. We highly recommend.

Excellent building with attentive staff. Currently updating many features which should enhance the living experience. Thumbs up.
