The people were nice, that was it. The place was older - see about rooms for more details. The parking was horrible, if you were on the far side, you were okay because that’s where the most parking spaces were, but on the other side, limited parking, many parked in fire lanes each day. They gave us some bags of complimentary ice, but towels were not always available for the pool or the workout room. I had to ask for them several times. When I reported the roaches and asked for the building person who could gone and spray with natural stuff, he never came. Breakfast was good, but they had one person to keep things going and that was a chore. The main thing was the location worked out to be near our family.

Most staff is nice except for some. I recommend you know some Spanish if you want to be able to talk to some of the housekeepers. Considering the cost the room is relatively small and if you have more than 1 person in the room it can be pretty cramped. I would also say that breakfast should be served for a little longer because if you want to be able to actually get food you’re gonna have to wake up at around 8:30 am. The location is probably the best part about this hotel is the location being at least 20-30 minutes to most top beaches in Sarasota.

I stay at many Hilton hotels around the country. This had to be one of the worst as far a management and staff. I requested housekeeping our first day there, didn't get it. Asked the second day and the lady told me to come get my own towels if I want them. The coffee had grinds in it, there were dirty towels on the floors in the hallways. I can go on and on explaining how this was a horrible experience. Terrible customer service.

Great room and friendly staff. Wish they would have told me the delivery policy though. You can’t get food delivered from anywhere to your room. You just go to the front desk to retrieve it. When I told the receptionist I was disabled she rudely said “I guess I will have to leave the front desk to bring it to you.” I told her to forget it that I would wake up my boyfriend. Maybe someone needs some hospitality training and an ADA refresher

We stayed at your Hilton hotel 9/3-9/5 Saturday -Monday We had a few incident's that were not pleasant and I wanted to bring it to the attention of someone who can make change. 1-Garbage left from previous visitor nor was our room was not cleaned during our stay 2-We had to pick up fresh towels late Saturday night 3-We went to the pool Saturday and it was so cloudy we chose not to go to the pool at all. 4-Found a homeless person sleeping by the pool Saturday morning - I reported it to the front desk 5-A different homeless person attempted to enter the hotel behind me. I told him he was not allowed in without a key. He left the area after making it clear he wasn’t happy with my decision. I reported it in to the front desk. 6-Pillows and bed were not comfortable 7-There was no shampoo or conditioner provided. 8- Breakfast was fair, eggs were poor, oatmeal was poor, coffee was very good. I did call Hilton they offered me 5k Hilton points which comes to few dollars. That was a pathetic response, mind you, I communicated with them 4 times before they actually attempted to do something about it. Don’t stay here

We had a great stay here. The staff was awesome and very helpful. The location was perfect for Thunder Bay. Everything was clean and well lit.

When we arrived at night we walked into our room and found 1 queen bed and a pullout sofa. We had booked 2 double beds and a pullout sofa. Front desk told us there was nothing they could do. Workers for Hurricanes Ian & Nicole had extended their stay and the room we paid for was not available. We were not given any advance warning of this through email or phone, were not given any discount or opportunity to change or cancel our reservation in advance. My husband and son are both over 6 feet tall and these accommodations were unacceptable, especially since our son in an athlete in town for a college showcase tournament and needed a good night's sleep. Instead he had to sleep on a rickety, dirty pullout sofa. I emailed the manager that night and received no response. The carpets throughout the entire hotel were filthy. There was heat pouring out of the air vents at the elevators. Breakfast was mediocre, nothing too different than any other hotel of this level. Workers from the hurricanes were walking around the hotel barefoot. One worker even removed our laundry from the washer just minutes after the cycle ended before we were able to do so. I will never stay at another Hilton property. Bonvoy Marriot has all my future business.

I recently stayed at the Homewood Suites in Sarasota and had an amazing experience. From check-in to check-out, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating (Specially Omar and Maryann). The hotel itself is beautiful, spacious rooms that are perfect for families or extended stays. The room itself was clean and comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchenette that made it easy to prepare meals in-room. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious with plenty of towels provided. The hotel also has a great pool area with plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas for shade. It was a great place to relax after a long day of exploring Sarasota. I specially loved the barbecue area and also they have washer and dryer for guests use, this is a plus when traveling with family. Overall, I would highly recommend Homewood Suites at Sarasota to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in the area. The staff is friendly, the amenities are top-notch, and the location is perfect for exploring all that Sarasota has to offer.

The only complaint I have is about the noise. The door leading into the hotel nearby our room shuts so incredibly loud— it’s not even being slammed, it’s simply loud on its own. Alongside that, the elevator that is also nearby is noisy as well— squeaking endlessly when people choose to use it. There has been near constant stomping upstairs, as if kids are running back and forth down the halls. Other than that, the rooms are alright and the service seems reasonable.

The people working here were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was the best we've had in a long while. We arrived on a Wednesday, and we appreciated the happy hour food and beverages offered that evening. We enjoyed a long evening of catching up with family and the offerings were just right! We would definitely stay here again.

It was our anniversary and was royaly disappointed Rooms were not clean. Hallways smelled like mildew and mold. Bathroom had mold in it. There was hair on the sink, table and toilet. After seeing the room we went to buy stuff to clean the room as well as bought sheets to cover the bed. Also no parking had to park in an unlit parking lot in an adjacent lot. Didn't feel safe

My family and I loved this hotel. From our suite, to the free breakfast, the pool/hot tub, fitness center, outdoor area with the grill and little putt putt course, the location and staff, it all was amazing and I would recommend staying here to everyone in the area.

The hotel was beautiful and friendly staff. The suite was clean and quiet at night. The room had it's own AC, all the amenities needed for a stay (toiletries. Pots and pans, cups. Utensils, etc). Confy bed. Very clean.

Beds were nasty, felt itchy after sleeping one day. I had a rash that broke out on my legs after the first night of sleeping on bed. Felt nasty! Roaches on the table in kitchen. Frog noise towards back of hotel that woke me up! Overall not satisfied! I do not recommend staying here.

Second time having a week stay at this hotel. Highly recommend. Awesome place to be. We will always choose this location when we visit Florida.

I never leave bad reviews, because it feels dramatic and extreme, but I truly felt the need to share my experience in order to help others. For some background, I am a young female who travels alone to Sarasota monthly for work. I booked this hotel with my company for a work trip and got to the hotel and immediately had to find a new hotel. At check-in, the manager insisted my reservation was cancelled even though I had a received a mobile check-in confirmation. The manager then booked me a new room at a higher price and then realized I was checked in for two rooms. He then cancelled my new room and I was able to check-in and get a room key. The room was in a completely separate building with no immediate parking and minimal lighting on a busy street with lots of foot traffic. Once in the room, it immediately smelled of mold/mildew and it was impossible to find the light switches. The carpet was very old. All of the furniture was scratched and dented and the bed mattress had a stain. Let’s just say, I was rebooked at a new hotel in 5 minutes. As someone who comes to the area monthly, there are plenty of other hotels that are much better, safer and cleaner than this hotel. I would not book here if you can stay anywhere else.

Booked this hotel through Hilton Honors 4 months before stay. Hotel recharged us. Have now been fighting with them to reimburse one of the charges for 7 weeks with still no resolution. Be careful when booking.

This has to have the absolute worst customer service of all the Hilton hotels in the company. The assistant manager has no idea how to be honest with guests. She will lie to your face and on the phone. She will refuse to contact corporate to resolve an issue. Her response to you the customer is if you want to go to another hotel that’s fine by me. This was in response to a huge $700 plus mistake the hotel made and she lied to cover it up. I’m sure Hilton corporate was happy when I made the complaint and explained that this was her resolution. I will say the 3-11 clerk seems to know what to do to fix it but we will see. Sam is at least making an effort which is more than I can say the manager did at this point. I stay in hotels 9 out of 12 months a year. I can say if you’re a long term traveler or a long term stay customer this is not the hotel for you. They will not honor the agreed upon price. They will then say sorry we don’t have the code needed to fix it. We will try next week when the general manager comes back. Please do yourself a favor if your a long term customer and stay as far away from this hotel as you can until they can get a manager that cares about Hilton honors customers.

What a great experience we had at the Homewood Suites of Sarasota! From the moment we walked in, the customer experience was terrific. From the REAL dishes and Silverware used for breakfast, the free bag of ice to the well appointed rooms. We should have stayed here sooner! Thanks to Blanca and her staff.

Our expectations were met, then exceeded. We were here for a last minute stay and the staff has been outstanding! We were late for breakfast one day and the staff insisted we eat. They brought out plates, condiments, and helped us navigate the breakfast buffet. We were never without and the staff attended promptly to everything extra. Sam and Anthony went out of their way to help our family- from an enexpected spill to kindness even in our ignorance! Our family recently learned of a very scary diagnosis of our beloved Aunt and we rallied, last minute to get here. We added a room (again last minute) for additional family to be here too. We cannot thank this staff enough for making our stay so pleasant amidst our chaos. Thank you THANK YOU. We will be back. ❤️

Great area to stay. Staff are fantastic and super friendly and helpful. Beds say double, but they are small. Rooms are a good size, but our whole family didn't go so if we had 2 more people in there it may have been cramped. Wifi in the area isn't great. Beautiful pool area!

Blanca (GM) and her front office staff, Lisa, Sam, and all, her housekeeper, Dianna, and engineer, Willie, are all outstanding, and make guests feel welcome, and comfortable. If anything is brought to the attention of the staff, it is looked into, and taken care of promptly. Love them all, they’re the BEST!

The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The shower was stocked with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The sink had hand soap and lotion. The kitchenette had everything needed. I liked the set up of the room.

I am a hilton honors member and usually stay at Hilton hotels. This location is old but everything is all updated inside. My room was clean and as expected. It has a nice full kitchen with a full stove, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and sink. Service was great as well. Most hotels don't allow you to use their HDMI cords. I usually bring one with me but I forgot mine this time. The guy up front let me use a cord no problem. I appreciated it greatly. I am staying for business and come to the area once a month. I will most likely be staying here from now on.

Really liked this place. Reasonable price. Breakfast buffet included. On Wednesday alcohol drinks and some snacks (hotdogs, salads, cheese etc) for social dinner. Helpful personal. We will stay here again.

The staff are wonderful, but the cleanliness of the place needs improvement. We saw roaches on the hallway of the first floor. The kitchen utensils were missing. If not for the roaches, we would have rated it 4 stars.

It's a great hotel rooms are huge and very clean. There is a nice pool area with a Hot Tub and a little putting green. Then there is an area with a barbeque grill and tables and chairs. The staff are very professional and friendly. The only downside is the location and parking. If you don't get a parking spot inside the parking area you have to park out front and there is a sign that says Park at your own Risk.

It’s a nice hotel centrally located at Beneva and Fruitville. Dodge’s store on the corner is a Sarasota landmark and always has the lowest gas price. Our bed was comfy, bathroom was conveniently designed EXCEPT for a little tiny low toilet that looks like it was made for a child. Chair height commodes like most people now have in their homes would help. The little kitchenette was great and had a larger fridge and freezer than most. Wished the microwave was convection, but didn’t expect it. The rooms are a little dated. I was surprised for a $237 room. (Many paid much more). Too much brown drabness in the decor for today. Old looking but not old. Brown cabinets and brown furniture give it a non-modern look. It is a long, long, walk to get to some suites. But the walking was good for us. The place was spotless! I walked on the carpet in white socks and they never got dirty. Impressive in a hotel. The kitchen is wood-look floored, other areas carpeted. We needed a desk in our room. We stayed two weeks and really needed a desk for our computers. Most people do nowadays. Noah, Amy, and Linda at the front desk were all wonderful. So anxious to be helpful - but unable to offer a lower rate to our relatives who wanted to stay one night to visit us. They were quoted $468 for a one-night stay. Ridiculous. It IS nice but NOT that nice. The employees wanted to help but seemed unable to get a cheaper rate. The worst thing about this property was a filthy swimming pool. I’m still feeling dirty after using it today (4-6-22). We got into the pool and splashed around briefly before we noticed the AWFUL slimy brown build up on the tiles - like a terrible bathtub ring. I could write my name in it with a fingernail. Dead skin cells, sunblock lotion and god knows what else. I got out as fast as I could and almost gagged. I mean, it is not a little dark ring on those tiles. About 3/4 of each tile has it and it obviously has built up for a long time. In the corner by the steps it is almost black. If the pool got scrubbed down, it would be a very good hotel. It was quiet and the rooms are large and we enjoyed all but that hideous pool. Oh, and the apparent pool contractors came YESTERDAY and told everybody to get out - in the middle of prime afternoon swimming time while they proceeded to pour large quantities of chlorine into the pool. Then they ran the LOUDEST pressure washer around it - disturbing everyone- but did not give any attention to the “bathtub ring.” Fire this pool company! The housekeeping staff are sweethearts and do a very good job. And the owners should give Noah, Amy and Linda pats on the back. They are gold! We would return, but would check that pool carefully before getting in it.

Can’t say enough about this hotel. They really made our vacation enjoyable. Fina at the front desk went way beyond!! She is an asset to your hotel and makes you want to come back and stay with them. Breakfast in the morning is delicious and always plenty to go around. Thanks to all the employees who work so hard to make us comfortable.

I loved it there! It was very relaxing and the pool area was great! It has a large clean pool and a Greta hot tub too! Breakfast was delicious and employees were nice. Would definitely go there for a vacation.

I could give it 10 points, but: Breakfast could be more healthy. Would like to have a fat free yogurt and more variety of fruits. Also, cleaning service wasn't every day only by request and I don't understand why room service only after 5pm- very inconvenience. Air conditioner thermostat was set on 68f and you cannot go lower than 68f, but actual temperature in room was 74F. I had to remove cover and use axillary button to make thermostat go to 60F

I would give it 5 stars if the hot tub in the pool area work. This is our repeat stay and hot tub still not working. Otherwise great service , clean, quiet and comfortable accommodations. Very pet friendly and very quiet with dogs in residence. I would recommend to stay.

Great people, comfortable and clean room! Traveling for work is never fun but every person I was in contact with was top-notch and seamless. They helped me book travel and paid attention to every detail in regards to state funded travel. Thank you to Colette, Lynn, Linda, and Blanca. They were all so professional, helpful, and made booking easy. Highly recommend staying here!
