Great hotel! We really enjoyed our stay here. There is a ferry service that is free that will take you back and forth to River Street. The pool is heated and is very nice, also a nice large hot tub and fire pit. Rooms are large and no view is a bad view, however, I highly recommend a river view to watch the ships. Staff was friendly and everything was clean. The only negative is the Starbucks downstairs is also the market and it closes around 1pm or 2pm. This means if you need a bag of chips after a night of fun out on river street, be sure to buy it before you get back to the hotel.

The hotel is great if you are into golf, but otherwise it is an average hotel to stay in if you're visiting Savannah. The hotel staff were friendly in general, but my hotel stay experience was disappointing. The hotel charges $33.90 resort fee which covers the pool, S'mores, fitness center, spa, etc. However, the fitness center is located in the club house, which closes at 9 PM and also takes a bit of walk/shuttle to get to. The hotel also charges $20 parking fee. There are plenty of parking spots and visitors to the hotel don't need to pay, so charging overnight guests an extra $20 is such a rip-off. The room keys also didn't work for various reasons, so I had to go up and down three times to get them fixed. Finally, I specifically asked if the room has the river view and the front desk said yes. But I woke up and found out it had a view of the parking lot and the golf course instead. Finally, we arrived at 10:55AM for breakfast and was told that they will be closing in 5 min and they almost turned me away. I insisted that their breakfast hours is 11AM so guests should be able to get seated before that. They finally let us in and the food was great, but I wished the dining experience was smoother.

Honestly, my wife and I stay was great. The room was clean and spacious. The ferry was always on time, the front desk staff was amazing. They were very knowledgeable of everything going on. The ONLY downfall for our stay was the dance competition crowd. The kids were running all through the hotel with no supervision from parents. The pool was overly crowded, always. Couldn't really enjoy the poolside vibe because all the kids. But that didn't bother me to the point where my stay was interrupted.

We enjoyed the location and the views at this hotel. We have stayed at other Westins and we're not as impressed by the outdated rooms and thin walls. It was absolutely brutal to hear every door open and shut. We were in a corner room all the way down the hall and could hear children screaming and crying both early in the morning and late at night. The corner room featured two windows to see the city and bridge. We had to pay $22 a night for parking which is a bit outrageous when half of their facilities are closed for winter or the range for flooding and weather. We were also charged a resort fee which we would have liked to know about in advance but it is what it is. I am sure in summer the place is much more lively and busy. The bar was open decent hours. Pool, hot tub, etc. was far too cold to use (in the 20s and 30s with high windchill). The staff was very kind. Overall this is not a "peaceful stay" or place I would expect to go to the spa and relax. Maybe they should wave the resort fee in the off season. The location is across the river with a free ferry which is nice. Safe place with lots of construction and conventions next door. We most likely will not return to this specific hotel by Marriott

Very nice looking hotel. Service was excellent. The rooms are clearly updated, however they have either king or full sized beds. Maybe ditch the little chairs and go for slightly larger beds. As for the rest of the hotel/convention center it's very nice as well. Tons of construction going on which makes it a maze to get over to the only lifeline for this place, the free ferry to get you over to Savannah's historic district/river walk. If you happen to be here for a conference... Same walk. Due to the beds, if you're here with your family, I'd probably stay elsewhere.

We loved our stay here. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. Their cookie and tea in the afternoon was a plus because it made my daughters so happy. Their location is perfect for us with the ferry to the riverfront. It’s so convenient just to take the ferry so we didn’t have to deal with driving and finding parking. It’s a very relaxing trip. We definitely will stay here again when we’re in Savannah.

Absolutely 💯. Great location, great views. Though on other side of river but are frequent free ferries to downtown takes less than 5 minutes. Great staff and hospitality at its best. Valet didn't allow me to take my stuff myself but assisted in pulling the luggage trolley to room. Wow ! 👌 Hot outdoor pool is amazing. Real hot and did feel the Chill even though it was around 45F. We didn't dine in here as we are vegetarian and was not worth so we took a ferry on other side for brunch.

My husband and I were so disappointed with our stay. We paid $750 for 2 nights in an outdated room with an odor, stains on the sheets and walls, and minimal amenities. The view of the river was nice, but it was blocked by a construction barge with a crane. We expected so much better, but you’re really just paying for the location and the brand. On the positive side, the few staff we interacted with were very pleasant and welcoming, and I appreciated that they were all wearing masks. But I definitely would not stay here again.

This is your typical convention hotel. The rooms were once quite nice but now are in need of a refurbish. The carpets were stained and the bed skirt in my room had someone else's blood on it. The bathroom was reasonably clean however. The safe did not work in our room and the closet door would not stay open. The food in the Aqua Lounge was okay. There was nothing special or wrong with it. The hotel sits across the river from almost all activities. If you want to get to dinner or any shopping, you will have to take the free ferry across the river, or take an Uber. The staff was friendly and efficient.

Great hotel, definitely one of the best in Savannah. My only qualm is the resort is located just outside the city, so if you are going as a tourist, be aware that the sightseeing trolley pickups won't be able to take you from here. You can take the ferry instead, which is free and runs every 30 minutes from the Westin stop to the Hyatt/River St stop. Service was good and rooms were spacious. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. I would return here again.

My stay at the Westin was short but amazing, first time to Savannah, GA. TODD at the front desk gave excellent service and hospitality. We had a small concern with our reservation but he was able to resolve the situation painlessly. He gets 6/5 stars! The room was spacious and clean, the bed a little stiff but manageable. The bathroom was also spacious and had a rain shower head on the ceiling (loved that). Lastly, the hotel had activities for couples and families. Also the city provides a free ferry ride across the water to downtown Savannah, so that was very convenient! Overall I would stay again.

Please be cautious regarding the hidden fees charged by this hotel. Apart from the expected parking fee, they also impose a resort fee, which is understandable. However, what left a negative impression was the undisclosed $50 extra adult charge per night. This charge seemed unwarranted, especially when we had reserved a two-bed room for two adults and one child. What felt particularly concerning was the lack of communication about this charge at check-in. I had to make a call to the front desk to request a refund, and now I'm left needing to follow up to ensure they process the refund. This experience felt quite deceptive and gave the impression of a potential scam. It's disappointing when such hidden fees mar an otherwise decent stay.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our first room smelled like mildew, and I broke down a few hours after check in and requested a new room. They were able to accommodate us, and the second room smelled much better. This is an older hotel so there are some signs of that but it’s mostly cosmetic and did not bother us. If you want a pristine, modern room, then I would recommend looking somewhere else. They are also currently doing renovations in the lobby area, and I’m surprised there was no mention of this on their website. I was there for a conference and the conference team themselves notified us of this prior to arriving, so we were aware of not all services being open (Starbucks is closed, etc.) The hotel location is across the river from places to eat and explore which was fine during our visit since weather was decent to wait for the free ferry to take you across, but I imagine it would be a bit unpleasant in poor weather. The hotel restaurant menu is on the smaller side, although my husband did order a burger one of the days and said it was good. I’m not sure if it was because we had a balcony, but we could hear almost everything happening outside even with the door closed. Overall it’s a good hotel; I’m not sure I would come back and pay full price myself, but it was fine for a conference that was paid for.

A beautiful property inside and out with excellent dining and spa options. This hotel can be accessed by the ferry, or by car and is easy to get to. The staff is very friendly and well trained. Prices are above average, so be prepared to spend a decent amount for anything on this property. This hotel works great for those who don’t want to be near the busy chaos of River Street at night, and for highly recognized individuals.

This is a beautiful hotel but the rooms need to be updated. The location is a ferry ride away from the city which can be a bit of a drag. Housekeeping never cleaned our room. They put us by the elevator which made it very noisy. The bed was very uncomfortable and our room overlooked the pool. They don't close the pool at night and the windows aren't sound proof so we would be frequently woken up in the middle of the night to people partying at the pool. Between the bed and the noise my husband said it was the worst night's sleep he's ever had at a hotel.

Be aware! They will charge you for things you don't agree with nor communicate with you. We drove into an open parking lot. Gates open no tickets dispensing. Watch Out! You'll spend and extra 57.95$ per night in fees! 37.95$ for "resort fees" and 20$ per night parking. The stay started off ok till a huge party came in. They placed us smack in the middle of the group and had to call the front desk multiple times with people opening the go between door and knocking on ours... The lady at the desk said, "I'm sure they'll stop. If they don't well come up. Just call us back if they don't stop." I laughed out loud. We spent $500 at the spa and still had to pay the extra 37.95$ per night I guess to be allowed to use the pool and hot tub? When we left they gave us the final receipt and when I called back to question it, Julian suddenly couldn't hear me and began to talk to another associate about "how they don't have to inform of the parking fee. They probably should but don't really have to... We do get complaints about it but that's a fee they aren't required to inform guests about." What!!! I would not recommend staying at this hotel. Save yourself the time and stay across the river at a place that cares about you instead of looking for ways to fee you to death. The arrogance and hidden fees is the reason for the 1 star. There were some staff that were very pleasant and helpful. It's the corporate strategy and management that deserves the single star.

If you go in expecting higher prices then your will not be disappointed! It was pricey but well worth it. The service was top notch in every department. The resort pool area was amazing. The ferry service available to you is awesome. The food was great. If I am ever back in Savannah we will be returning! Great stay!

We stayed for a week while visiting Savannah and the surrounding area. Great location, right on the Savannah River and the city. The included ferry wasn’t explained well, unfortunately so we missed out for the majority of our trip. The $20 per day in parking was unnecessary. They didn’t charge non-hotel guests for parking so why am I getting charged? The hotel amenities are nice but need improvement. The 4 elevators for such a large hotel during peak times was quite a wait. Room was clean and minimal problems with noise. A microwave in the room or complimentary breakfast would have made for an even better stay.

I love the Westin! The staff is awesome! The valet is amazing! The rooms are okay, nice and clean for the most part, just smaller than I am used to in a luxury hotel, if you were to compare it to the JW rooms the room are a step down in the luxury aspect. They have great views from the rooms overlooking the Savannah River and that's a super plus for me. They offer a ferry ⛴️ across the river to enjoy shopping and other activities. This hotel offers excellent hot tubs and large pools. Family Activities are also offered. I always enjoy my stay at the Westin!

The rooms are nice, the beds were very comfortable and clean, and the amenities were plentiful! Nice place! We were able to upgrade to a room on the river side, which was a much nicer view than the golf course. Having to ride the ferry over the river to get to downtown Savannah may not be ideal for many people, but we were here for something on this side, so it wasn't a problem!

Our clients celebrated Valentines weekend and the experience here was amazing! Great location, the rooms were perfect. As Savannah Romance Concierges we were excited to be apart of this beautiful weekend.

This was a great hotel with friendly staff and great location right across the river from some of the attractions. The free cookies were a plus and the ice cream in the evening although a little expensive was still pretty good. I'd make this the place to stay if I'm the area. Golf, spa, fitness center, pool and Starbucks on site.

  • 4/5 Janet C. 2 years ago on Google
The beds were comfortable and the rooms and hallways quiet. Slept well. Beautiful river view. Staff were friendly. Some customer focus is lacking from management. The Starbucks was too small and could not support the demands of long lines of customers. That was frustrating. The hotel should just provide free coffee in the lobby like so many other hotels do. In addition there were no vending machines and only one gift shop to provide drinks and snacks, when it was closed at 10 pm you couldn’t get anything at all to eat or drink, no room service. The main restaurant was only fair it was typical with average quality hotel priced food. We attended an outdoor wedding reception the setting was lovely , the catered food was better than the restaurant. The valet parking/bell staff were excellent. There was no cleaning service for the rooms you had to request maid service and call the desk if you ran out of anything. That was a post covid shocker to me after many years of traveling and having certain minimal / routine expectations of hotels.

I really enjoyed this hotel. I actually stayed Mother’s Day weekend but forgot to do a review and When you receive great service you should definitely leave a review to let the hotel know how their doing. I enjoyed the river view, riding the ferry across the river, the hot tub, comfortable bed the overall hospitality. I also like to give a shout out to the chef. My husband just wanted grilled cheese but it wasn’t on the menu for breakfast. Our waitress said “Thats no problem our chef will make it especially if that’s all it takes to make the guest happy”. Simple accommodations to make the guests happy let you know how much pride they take in giving the guest the best experience down to the simple things.

Where do I start? The property is situated in a phenomenal location close to everything but just far enough away. Quiet, Clean, Convenient, this place is an absolute jewel. Breathtaking views and plush accommodations. I could go on and on about the property and its amenities, but the heartbeat of the property are its people and their dedication to service and upholding their brand's standard. In particular Marc, who took care of myself and my family well before we ever arrived. Marc was friendly and attentive and took action to ensure that my entire family was thought of. The Valets were knowledgeable about parking as well and the city and all it had to offer. Roosevelt and the other ladies at the front desk also left a positive impression. I will definitely be returning. Keep up the outstanding work !!!

Every staff person we came in contact with was personable and very pleasant. The valet personnel make it a priority to be accommodating. Check in was quick without issue. The view is nice. The hot water and water pressure were perfect. The bathroom is a little small. They've tried to upgrade it appears with newer shower heads but the bathtub is small. The room is small overall as well but the bed is very comfortable. The price is a little much for the room- I'm sure it's the name that dictates the price.

This is a beautiful hotel located across the river from Savannahs river street. Ferry is located just outside hotel for easy access to the other side. The room was quiet and clean. The only thing I can complain about is the pillows are TERRIBLE and there are no vending machines on site if you have the late night munchies. So, bring your snacks & a pillow if those are important to you. 😊

Michelle checked us in explaining all the wonderful Westin benefits in detail. Can’t beat this location on the river with really easy access by ferry ⛴️ to the Savannah riverfront for dining and shopping. Our room was clean, spacious, and had a great view of Downtown Savannah 😊

We drove up and noticed construction going on, but the view driving up was absolutely Beautiful. The hotel was clean and customer service was great. Our room was clean and spacious. Our view as nice as well. The beds were comfortable and smelled fresh and clean as well. The property was clean even with the renovations going on. My husband and I were celebrating our 25th anniversary ❤️. We will definitely stay again.

Overall, an amazing hotel but they need to focus on maintaining their rooms. Upon my arrival to my room, I discovered mold in the ceiling above the shower. I reported the issue and I was moved to another room that required the curtain track to be repaired and replaced. The hotel is beautiful and the service is great. They need to spend more time and resources on room maintenance and doing a better paint job.

Beautiful hotel, very nice staff. The grounds are beautiful with the swimming pool on the riverfront. Easy access to the city with the ferry constantly running. The staff at the hotel restaurant also were sooooo nice and food was delicious. My only complaint was the bathroom - tub was peeling and moldy ceiling with paint chipping. The front desk staff only said 'sorry' with a smirk and didn't seem to care that I was paying a lot of money to stay in a room with those conditions. Otherwise a great two day stay!

This was a great place to stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They also have great activities. It is located across the river from downtown which is either good or bad depending on your preference (it worked great for me). But it is a short (free) ferry ride to access downtown Savannah. I would definitely stay here again.

We had dinner at the Aqua Star and the short ribs were excellent. We were the second table seated at 5:00 and the waiter didn't bring the water until 5:08. We ordered at 5:10 and we didn't get our seafood gumbo for an appetizer until 5:45 and then the main course came 2 minutes later. I had an empty water glass for 15 minutes before the waiter came by to fill it. We ate twice at Ruth Chris this week and both times the service and food were excellent. There are many other good restaurants in Savanah that have good service.

I enjoyed my stay at The Westin! Very nice, very clean, All the workers were great, nice and respectful. They made sure we had everything that we needed. It was nice to see all the family's by the pool having a good time. I totally recommend The Westin...!

I recently visited The Westin Savannah for a short weekend getaway and overall enjoyed the beautiful resort with great amenities. However, there were a few drawbacks. The low toilets were inconvenient, requiring a squatting position. Additionally, the hotel’s location on the other side of the river, though scenic, can be inconvenient when relying on the free boat shuttle – missing it can be frustrating. On a positive note, parking on the touristy side is affordable, with a $5 flat fee on weekends.

My wife and I really enjoyed Savannah, but we're not huge partiers. It turns out that staying across the river is kind of a nice detachment for when we're "done." We went on all the tours and ate at all the restaurants, but when people went crazy we retreated to this gorgeous resort. The fun things like s'mores every evening, a beautiful pool and jacuzzi, and the spa and clubhouse that we didn't even go to yet were appealing. We loved the water taxi to and from the Savannah waterfront, but it took a little studying to get it down. Once we did, super convenient and free! I also used their shuttle twice once the water taxi shut down. That too was free though their drivers appreciate a tip. All the benefits of Savannah, without any of the detriments!

  • 2/5 Alexis H. 1 year ago on Google
Staff were not super friendly (outside of our initial check in). Each drink was about $16-$17, and this was not top shelf liquor. Breakfast was additional, and looked about the same quality that you get complimentary at any hotel. The room itself was clean, however, for around $300/ night I would like staff to be more personable and able to answer questions (such as how to catch the ferry) without acting as if you were unintelligent. I approached the front desk at one point and the lady did not even look up from her computer at me, another staff called me to their counter after a few minutes of me standing there waiting. A simple acknowledgment of my presence would have sufficed.

Absolutely loved our stay here. Such a beautiful hotel with stunning views. Veronica at the front desk was very helpful and sweet she upgraded us to a River view room for our Anniversary trip. It’s the little things like this that make the stay memorable. Our housekeeper was very nice and took care of us as well. The ferry shuttle is helpful when it actually runs on schedule. (If you do take the last shuttle just know those two workers stop it from The Westin to the Hyatt at 9:30p not 9:50p like stated on the printed schedule) Anyways Didn’t hate anything about our stay and will return with the kids very soon!! Highly recommend this resort. Pool is very nice, the hotel provides popcorn, and arts and crafts for kids, s’mores, movie nights outside, tea and cookies… the list goes on!You will not be disappointed with your time here!

Overall, a very nice place and location. Room was well appointed but the bed was completely worn out and uncomfortable. Pillows smelled like like people's odor. Windows so dirty you could hardly appreciate the view of the river. For how much they rooms cost per night, I would expect more.

  • 3/5 J H. 1 year ago on Google
Cons- The room was fine. The beds were squeaky and not comfortable. The bathroom was lackluster, the tub looked old and chipped and the whole room could use a paint refresh. The location is awful if you don’t have to go to the convention center. The ferry is never on time and having to take it to go to any meals was a hassle. MAYBE it would have been fine if there wasn’t construction causing you to have to walk farther than expected to get to the ferry. Construction noise in the golf course view rooms was very annoying. We had a golf course view which was mostly a view of the entrance so cars and the construction. Pros- lovely view of Savannah IF you have a river view. The front desk staff, bellmen and bartenders were very friendly and helpful. The pool was beautiful and the Adirondack chairs facing the river on a sunny day were perfection.

  • 5/5 becky h. 10 months ago on Google
Amenities and services were excellent. If you are expecting to be able to easily walk to everything Savannah has to offer, you are not going to find yourself on the same side of the river. There is a ferry, but it only runs during the day. So, if you are into the nightlife, this is not the spot for you without other accommodations for getting back to your room. Otherwise, I highly recommend this place. I did not get to use any of the spa offerings, but the bar and food did not disappoint. There is also a coffee shop on site serving Starbucks beverages.

The Westin was absolutely amazing. We had our wedding here and would highly recommend it. It’s a beautiful location, a beautiful hotel and the staff are very friendly and very helpful. I worked with Christine throughout the planning process and it was a breeze and stress free! The event team day off was amazing. Unfortunately the weather was cold and rainy and it was a smooth and easy transition from outside to inside event and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. The Westin handled it all. The staff working the reception were all amazing and Jim the bartender was the best! I had the best night and the Westin was incredible. 10/10!!! For any bride looking for a beautiful hotel in downtown Savannah, this is the one!

The ferry across the river was great and allowed access to anywhere without the need for a car. The hotel is gorgeous, has wonderful customer service, and delicious, healthy food options. One thing I wish it had was in-hotel gym, but going across the street to workout and to attend the spa was okay. The road is very dark at night and early morning though. Needs better lighting, but felt safe.

Very nice place but some stuff inside like the bar was being remodeled. Staff was nice though. The breakfast buffet was really good for the price. Location was not as good because the ferry wasn't running so we had to take the shuttle all the way around to get into the city. Nice place overall

This is an amazing place! Excellent customer service from the moment we arrived. Michelle at the front desk was so helpful and kind. John Michael picked us up after dinner in the bus and also brought our car around the morning we left. He is a true asset to the establishment. Extremely clean and many amenities. More than a 5 star experience from start to finish!

Upon arriving our first impression of the valet greeters wete amazing! They greeted us with a smile it felt like home. They were also very attentive throughout our entire stay. They recommended a barbershop and great food places. The hotel room was in good condition. The shower and water pressure was on point. We enjoyed being able to ride on the free ferry to the downtown area at our leisure. Also the smore kits by the firepit and pool at night. I was able to enjoy a hot chocolate and stop by the bar to spice it up a bit with some Baileys Irish Cream! All around good experience for us. Would recommend for sure and we'll be back. Yes, there is construction going on around the hotel but this in no way disturbed our experience.
