This
is
the
best
overall
hotel
based
on
location
in
Savannah—direct
access
to
both
Bay
Street
and
River
Street
means
you
can
explore
the
historic
district
without
using
the
sketchy
pedestrian
access
points,
plus
the
view
of
the
river
even
from
“city
view”
rooms
is
commanding—it’s
worth
the
splurge.
Be
aware
this
hotel
charges
a
$25
resort
fee.
Amenities
beyond
what’s
standard
for
a
hotel
in
this
price
range
include
a
welcome
beverage,
some
credits
at
the
small
market
shop
(enough
for
a
bag
of
peanuts
and
a
candy
bar),
two
bottles
of
water,
and
some
discounts
in
the
restaurant/bar
and
nearby
shops.
There
is
no
self-parking,
and
while
the
app’s
listing
for
parking
is
confusing
as
to
price,
valet
parking
is
$48.
This
wouldn’t
bother
me
if
1)
the
website
hadn’t
indicated
it
was
$20
for
a
sedan
and
2)
it
had
been
true
valet.
While
they
did
park
the
car
when
I
left
it
with
them
in
front
of
the
hotel,
when
we
collected
the
car,
they
simply
handed
over
the
key
and
pointed
to
the
car.
Not
a
huge
issue,
until
I
looked
at
the
car
and
it
was
parked
with
another
car
about
four
inches
from
the
driver’s
door—meaning
I
had
to
crawl
in
from
the
passenger
side
to
escape
the
garage.
Not
exactly
what
I’d
expect
for
the
almost
$50
premium
on
parking.
The
room
itself
was
spacious
and
bright,
with
good
views
of
the
river.
There
were
ample
places
to
charge
a
phone/whatever,
and
the
room
was
clean
and
quiet.
The
bed
wasn’t
the
most
comfortable,
but
it
was
adequate
and
probably
would
have
been
better
with
some
tightening
of
the
bolts
on
the
bedframe—it
felt
a
bit
wobbly
when
getting
in
or
out
of
the
bed.
The
shampoo
and
conditioner
were
nice,
but
the
bar
soap
provided
for
the
sink
was
small
and
somewhat
harsh.
Overall,
I
likely
would
have
rated
5
stars
but
for
the
parking
situation,
and
I
would
stay
here
again.
