We had a wonderful experience at the Marriott Savannah Riverfront! My sister and I spent a few days here for a girls' weekend and had a lovely time in the spa, fitness area, at breakfast, even with room service, and the customer service was superior throughout our stay. Our compliments to the team at Magnolia Spa: Johnnie, Jensen, Alisha and Melissa were an absolute pleasure. We had several treatments over two days and felt rejuvenated from our time in this spa. While we have absolutely nothing but praise for our stay, we could see how a coffee shop would enhance the experience even more. We were a short walking distance from Savannah Riverfront restaurants and shops. Our thanks to everyone for a fantastic stay!

I am a Marriott reward member and this is my favorite hotel to stay at whenever in Savannah, GA. It's right on the riverfront next to shopping, food, and fun. Very nice and clean hotel with a great staff. Beautiful lobby area and restaurants with great tasting food options. The rooms are spacious and modern. Great views from the balcony. All the amenities. This is where you want to be.

I am very impressed by this place! It was a beautiful hotel and I will mostly definitely go back. It has a very comfortable and welcoming feel to it. I did mention a few things to the lady at the counter about the cleanliness of the bathroom and the toilet running all night, but I still think this place deserves five stars. I hope they can use my feedback to better serve their guest. Also if anyone from the hotel sees the post, you guys need some benches outside near the front door. 😁 Thanks for the great stay. My bill was $287 (I got snacks added to my room).

My wife and I traveled from Atlanta and stayed here the weekend of January 7-9, 2022. Everything about our stay was perfect. We arrived early afternoon and was able to check in early. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. Our room was very spacious and felt recently renovated (photos attached with this review). We had a nice view of the river from our rooms and could watch the huge container ships come and go. We enjoyed breakfast both mornings in Blue, A Savannah Bistro. The food and service were excellent. We would highly recommend this hotel!

It is on the far end of downtown but gives you a reason to take a walk along the waterfront toward the rest of the downtown places of interest. Rooms are nice. There is plenty of parking, but the auto gates can be challenging. If you are a Gold or above Elite member, there is a concierge lounge. Not very well stocked but reasonable and a nice balcony to sit out on. We were there early spring, so we didn't do the pool. It was nice enough to go for a jog on the waterfront each morning though.

Hotel itself is nice. Large attractive Atrium. Nice bar, lounge area and restaurant. Room had major problem with mold and mildew. The musty, mildew smell was always present in the room. Black mold was on the grout in the shower. Room is not practical as it has literally only 2 boxy drawers for clothes. Has a large closet but is mostly for hanging clothes. The hotel attempted to spray disinfectant in the A/C vents and in the room. This did nothing to diminish the strong smell of mildew. I was actually worried about getting Legionaire's disease. Also, the remote control did not work. This was an easy fix. Hotel management needs to address the major mildew problem. In addition, housekeeping did not tend to the room at all on one day. Did not receive clean towels and of course bed was not made. Trash not emptied so it was obvious they completely failed to enter the room. I recommend Hotel management step it up a notch. There are numerous other hotels on River Street. In my opinion, at least for now, I recommend checking out the room thoroughly before accepting it and settling in. Or simply, select another hotel that has mostly positive reviews.

Great location, friendly staff, clean, beautiful view of the river, and good parking. We can hear people sneezing and kids playing in the next room but that doesn’t bug us. It’s cool to watch huge boats float by and has a really great river walk and sitting areas. I am very impressed and will stay here again when visiting.

Excellent experience. The location of the property is perfect for all the dining and other activities on the riverfront. The historic district is a short walk away. The service is excellent and the staff very courteous. The rooms are nice and spacious. We were in junior suite and it was surprising that it didnt have a balcony whereas many regular rooms seemed to have a balcony. Otherwise all very good. The hotel is decently priced for the comfort and location as compared to other properties nearby. I highly recommend this place.

Nice hotel. Beds were comfortable and we got a room with a balcony, which was tiny... but lots of interesting stuff to see from it. Tesla Destination chargers deep inside the parking deck are free for anyone parked in the deck (parking is $30 for non guests). There are four chargers, two with Tesla style plugs, two with J1772. Each was capable of 48 amps.

One of the coolest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. What they have done turning this old power plant into a hotel is incredible! Very comfortable rooms, great view from the rooftop lounge. From the lobby with the original turbine service crane hanging from the roof, to the museum and artwork throughout, this hotel is truly great! The hotel service staff were very good and friendly too.

Absolutely awful. I booked a room months in advance and when I arrived they stated they didn't have a room available. They said they just found out "the air conditioning broke". The assistant manager booked me a room in a different hotel that was not comparable to what I booked and when I addressed this with her, she started to cry as if she was the victim. The general Manager then called me and basically said it is what it is. Take it or leave it that this stuff happens. So if you want to enjoy your vacation, book elsewhere. Clearly they overbook and they do not operate by good business just money. By the time the ordeal came to and I found the other hotel and checked in, I lost two hours of the night. If I didn't have a toddler , I would have just left. The hotel they sent me to gave me a room overlooking a brick wall and I was told to be grateful they did that. Zero stars is more than they deserve. Just say no! And the best part! The assistant manager told me after she was crying that if I caused a scene to her guests she would call the police on me.

If you want to be in the Savannah Riverfront district but not be right in the club/drinking area this is a good choice and a nice walk to the more lively area. The hotel is very nice - it really is more like a large event center - very beautiful - great place to host weddings, receptions, balls, and conferences, so keep that in mind if you want a more low key hotel. We heard no noises during our stay! Our room had a few challenges with cleanliness, as many hotels have right now. I sat down with the manager, Kyle Kimmel, to discuss my concerns. He and the staff went above and beyond to correct the issues. He exceeded my expectation and our weekend turned out great! Thank you Kyle!!! We are not early breakfast eaters, but for the cost per night breakfast should be included. The parking cost is a bit steep but that is the cost in popular tourists spots - you either pay the hotel or pay for a lot.

This hotel is at a great location on the river. Very clean. The bar area is nice and the shrimp tacos were delicious! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the rooms feel a little old. The ceiling is peeling in our room and paint is coming off the walls. The toilet flushes really slow to where I thought it was broken. However, the beds are comfy and the room is otherwise clean. I've stayed here before and would stay again. Tip: if booking more than 1 room, ask for connecting balconies. We didn't realize this was an option and shared a balcony with people we didn't know as opposed to our family.

One of the best Marriott's I've stayed at for sure! I'm a bonvoy member and boyfriend and I were able to book a king studio with bathtub last minute during our long road trip from NYC to Florida for a pit stop. Definitely worth while. The bed was extremely comfortable for a much needed night of rest and rejuvenation. Check in was easy and quick. Room as very clean and had a coffee/tea maker and fridge. Quiet hours were respected and the hotel was close walking distance from a lot of yummy restaurants and cafes! The hotel overlooks the water as well so a room with a view might be worthwhile for those looking to stay longer than a night. Highly recommend 👌

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Marriott Savannah Riverfront. The staff was very polite and professional at all times. We were always greeted with a smile from everyone. Great positive atmosphere and clean environment. I was amazed at the view we had in our room over looking the river. This is definitely a location we will come back to for events and to stay overnight.

Comfortable beds and clean rooms! The bar area was great and the shrimp tacos are bomb. Good breakfast, great concierge, and quick walk to the river district. Only dropping a star because the ambiance lacked a bit of Savannah charm and because emergency alarms went of twice during the 3 - day stay for no good reason. Once was at 6:30 am and the other was in the middle of the night. Might have just been coincidental but I’ve never had that happen before - let alone twice. Overall excellent experience and friendly staff.

Rooms were clean bathrooms decent-sized and clean. The gentleman who welcomed guests who were checking in, was accommodating and friendly. Our daughter arrived first. We called to give permission for her to check-in under the reservation, they agreed but still made her wait until we got there with the actual credit card. (Credit card was on file; therfore, why couldn't she check-in as agreed on the phone?) Not a big deal... Location was good but when you're walking to most of the "hot spots" it took us 15-25 minutes... All in all, everything worked out and we will stay again.

Enjoyed a fantastic stay at this hotel! The room was great, and the location was perfect with a pleasant walk to restaurants and bars. The river view added to the charm. However, the unexpected $40 per night parking fee was a downside.

We were on a higher floor, came in the room and felt like we were on a cruise. The river was beautiful from the large floor to ceiling windows. Good, spacious room. Bar was great, the bartenders were good as well and attentive. Love the location river walk right out the back door. Parking was also plentiful. Great stay, albeit too short.

We were beyond pleased with our experience at the Marriott Savannah Riverfront! Our room wasn’t in perfect shape (which is why it was less expensive than many other hotel options in Savannah), but had everything we needed for comfort, cleanliness, view, and fun! Blue restaurant for breakfast was delicious and the bar downstairs offers outstanding food and drink options! I would like to give a shout out to Micheal the concierge who, just as we were gathering together in the lobby to figure out what we were going to do that day, he was right there to help us plan…and his recommendations were spot on! We look forward to returning!

The hotel location was perfection, our room was well maintained. However, the customer service was inconsistent. First , we enjoy cream with our coffee and simply asked for more cream. The staff was nice to bring up water that we did not ask for, but nothing was said about the cream. Next, we wanted room service called several times. Once a male clerk responded just to keep trying. Finally a sweet lady , took the time to place an order. We asked to put it in a different credit card. The front desk stated that it would not be a problem. They would just bring a card reader. When the food finally arrived, the guy complained about having to run back downstairs after we specifically asked for it to be put on a different card. It has been super hot so my daughter and her friend took two showers. When I woke up, I was going to take a quick shower, and go buy coffee on river street so that I would not have to worry about cream. I did not have a towel. First call, I was told it would be 5 minutes. 30 minutes later I called to offer to come get a towel. I was told that this hotel does not work this way. They would have to bring them to my room. Honestly, they could have just said they were out of towels. I took a shower and used hand towels. I am not a picky person. We love Savannah and just stop by for a quick stay to break up our drive.

The hotel is in a great location. It was nice to be able take the ferry or walk to River Street. However, if I’m gonna pay $20.00 for a cocktail at the bar, the bartenders should be able to make me whatever I want. I requested a tequila sour with a red wine floater. I was told that wasn’t possible. It’s a simple request. If the bartender was able to make a whisky sour, she could’ve honored my request for a tequila sour. As far as my room, it was overlooking the atrium. Blahhhhh. There was some slight mold, (Room 508). Nonetheless, the housekeeping staff was amazing and unobtrusive.

Rooms and location were great... but we tried 2 different rooms and the AC was terrible. Only got to about 72 when set at 60. Had to request a fan. Pool is waaaaaay too small for a hotel this size.... always full of guests except early morning. For the price we paid for a balcony of the river our AC should have been better. We will stay somewhere else next time.

This hotel is dated and expensive, but I enjoyed my stay here. I would recommend getting a room that does NOT face the atrium; and instead get one that faces the outside. I got a room with a balcony and it was fantastic! The room was clean and the AC worked just fine. The hotel all around is a bit empty and older; but I like it. The location was also very good because it was not right in the main hustle & bustle of the river street but still very close. There were plenty of parking options, but getting out with the gate and tickets was annoying. Some improvements can be made here, but overall a nice way to stay in Savannah!

Praise God there were CLEAN sheets and towels! Rooms could be cleaner tho like the curtain and a bit more updated but it’s definitely clean enough to spend the night here. Great customer service too! And the room has a balcony looking into the lobby

When we first walked in it was nice looking in the lobby, we got to our rooms and they were a little suspicious but good enough for one night. We left the room for a little and when we came back we got ready for bed. My friend accidentally had her flash on under the bed sheets and our friends in the other bed saw our covers and told us to get out of bed right now. We did and we saw the imagine below. The people in the lobby were very nice but the room is not. there is also black mold ( we think ) and the room has a smell. Also random stains on the floor. We also saw used cotton swabs and thumb tacks in the hallway floor

Had a great dinner at the restaurant here. Wesley the server was very knowledgeable with the menu and helping with suggestions for dinner. It was great to have the manager Michael check on us how our drinks and food was prepared. Also what what I liked is it was just business with Wesley or mike they both had conversations about how we Are all from the Midwest. Keep it up guys getting personal with customers is what makes us coming back!!! Thank you to the Marriott staff for a great stay

It was at the end of the riverwalk. My fault for not researching the location a little better. In 95 degree heat, it’s not close enough to the stores, restaurants and Riverboats. The complimentary coffee in the lobby area was only for two hours(5-7 I believe), so I missed that. We made some in the room. It was doable. I also signed up online-hence I chose a room over the pool. It seemed like the room was a mile away from the elevator. We had the very last room down at the end of hotel, by the stairs. The Hispanic lady who checked us was CUT & DRY. She offered us no information about the hotel. When you check out, don’t use the ticket you received when you came in. Use the hotel card key to get out and drop it in the drop box. There is a huge nice atrium and bar. The drinks start at $16 and up. The hotel was very clean and nice. The carpet on the 4th floor(hallway to our room)looked brand new. The beds were very comfortable. Would I stay here again? Yes, but I would probably look for a hotel closer to the action. The young lady bartender was very nice to provide me with a cup of coffee late on Saturday night. She was very helpful, but she looked very tired. Maybe, she had a long day. The bar seems to be very busy.

The rooms were nice and location was excellent. It is within walking distance to River Street but far enough away that it is peaceful. That being said…they charge $40 a day for parking. Seems like paying for the room would include parking. Also, the walls must be really thin. We could hear the conversations from neighboring rooms, which is not preferred when you are trying to sleep.

Stay was decent. The hotel is a little older and dated but clean. We had a suite, which provided plenty of room, but honestly, I'd choose to have another bed instead of the dining room table. Location is in great proximity to walk along the river and to the main area (square?). The hotel is a little ways off from the airport but I'd stay again if in the area and didn't want to or couldn't find another hotel I'd like to stay in.

  • 2/5 Sean S. 10 months ago on Google
Hotel is beautiful from the outside, great river views, beautiful lobby area. A little away from everything and a bit of a walk before you hit the shops on River walk. Also, a lot of construction going on near hotel which isn’t necessarily their fault. My problem’s came with my experience with the rooms. The are hot, no air movement, thermostat’s won’t go below 73 degrees. I requested to change room’s. The next room I received was no different, just as hot, no air movement. It was cooler in the hallways. When I pay over $400 a night for a room, I expect to be comfortable and relaxed when I enter my room, not sweating while I lay in bed. I would not recommend this hotel for that reason alone and would never pay that amount and stay here ever again. I would stay closer to downtown or historic district in the future. I’m requesting a fan be brought to room to see if I can get through the night.

  • 4/5 Aaron C. 10 months ago on Google
My first room was pretty bad. It smelled like urine and I found a roach in the room but the hotel was very nice and understanding and changed my room for me. The location is fantastic and the views are awesome. The bar downstairs is also great with great service

  • 5/5 Keith L. 1 year ago on Google
Right on the riverfront, nice cool indoor patios on the atrium. Right on the Riverwalk. Requires a walk to most downtown eateries but that's perfect after sitting in a conference room most of the day! Good bar with late hours. $35 parking is a bit excessive, but they took good care of me. Breakfast was great at Blue. Definitely will stay here again if I get the chance.
