By far the nicest bar I've been to in Tokyo! This place is a true special gem, and the owners make it even better. If you enjoy music and 60s/70s/80s vibes, you definitely need to visit this bar. They'll open their new bar near Tokyo Sky Tree at some point, so make sure to pay them a visit if you have the chance!

This rock bar is a hidden gem in Tokyo's Shinjuku area. When you ascend an elevator to the fourth floor and open a nondescript door you've arrived at a tiny shrine to classic rock. The walls are covered with vinyl covers, American and Japanese guitar riffs float out of the speakers, and a bevy of instruments sit ready to be played. The space is intimate and the owners are friendly, happy to chat about their city and their passion. But the very best part is when those instruments are put to use! Before closing, the owners and a patron rocked out with renditions of the classics, making this spot a truly unique experience to add to any Tokyo visit. Highly recommended for anyone who loves rock or bars that do more than a boring exchange of coins for drinks.

Cool place! Can't find it easily from the outside. Look for the Bar Chic sign for the 4th floor, it's a door right next to it. The owners were awesome. I echo that from everyone else. Super friendly, asked cool questions and just good conversation. Super polite as well. I wish more people were there but I also went fairly early. Will def go back when I get back to Tokyo.

It’s an awesome place for people that have a background in music and don't mind performing on the spot and mingling talents with others. It’s a casual and cozy place that allows perfect strangers to become instant friends. The owners love to join in with the talents to make awesome music together. It’s one of the greatest live bars I’ve been to. Even people who just want to enjoy live music but don’t have any performance talent in it can relax and do so. I’m so sad I found this place the last night I was in Tokyo. Hopefully I can come back and enjoy the mingling of talents again.

Kind of glad we didn't find this place until our last night in Tokyo, because we probably wouldn't have gone anywhere else. It is a fantastic spot. The space and music create the atmosphere, but it's the owners who create the magical vibe. Their way of connecting to each and every person that comes through the door somehow fosters a sense of community and fast friendship among the guests. It helps that the space itself is intimate - and the Okinawan rice liquor didn't hurt either - but we had by far the best bar-talks of our entire time in Japan. Worth the work to find it. We'll be back.

We love every visit we have to Atsuko and George’s bar! They’re such welcoming people. The music is great and the space is cozy. Once you get to the building they’re in go to the fourth floor. Their door has a sign on it with the bars name now. If you’re lucky you can catch them jamming! It’s the best bar in Tokyo! We will definitely be back on our next visit.

An absolute gem. Slightly tricky to find, it’s on the 4th floor behind a door with a poster on it, but once inside you’re met with record covers all over the wall, excellent music & Hammond organs piled up on eachother. The owners Atsuko & George couldn’t have been more friendly, and me and George (a Hammond player) ended up having a jam. A wonderful Tokyo memory I’ll never forget!

So glad we visited this bar on our trip to Tokyo! This cozy space has a really great atmosphere if you like prog rock, jazz, and other related types of music. The room is surrounded with vinyl records on the wall and instruments that that are often used for live music. George and Atsuko (the couple that runs the bar) were extremely warm, nice and eager to answer questions we had about the area and made suggestions of things we might be interested to see. Overall this is a really unique spot and hope to be back again someday!

The hosts 敦子 and 淨慈 George are awesome. They speak great English and are very welcoming. We spent about an hour and a half chatting to them whilst sampling various Japanese beverages. I can recommend the green tea liquour + milk and the plum liquour. You'll likely get some bonus points if you bring some Jammie Dodgers with you from England. Prices really are reasonable considering the area and if you like a jazz/blues/rock soundtrack you'll be very happy. Hoping we'll be able to visit again soon, ありがとうございます!

Great hosts, the couple who owns the bar also serves the drinks. We got a happy new year drink and a present. Owner chatted with us about our trip. The drinks are good. Music is great mix of jazz and old rock.
