My recent visit to Kyocafe Chacha 嵐山店 left me thoroughly satisfied with its delightful breakfast options, particularly its delicious waffles and excellent coffee. The cozy ambiance and friendly service further added to the overall enjoyable experience. Moreover, the quality of coffee at Kyocafe Chacha 嵐山店 deserves special mention. Whether you prefer a classic espresso or a flavorful latte, their skilled baristas ensure that every cup is brewed to perfection. The coffee was rich, well-balanced, and served with attention to detail. It provided a delightful boost to begin the day on a high note.

The restaurant was very welcoming and cozy and a very chilly morning. The staff was very friendly and immediately sat us and helped take our order. We tried the waffle plate meals for breakfast and the food and service was fantastic. The food was perfectly made and full of flavor! The matcha tea latte (hot)was perfect for the chilly morning we had and was full of flavor with an authentic bitter tinge found in an unsweetened matcha. (Sugar was provided to increase the sweetness if needed. The eggs were fluffy, the matcha (premium) waffle was robust and sweet. The yogurt and nuts was a sweet contrast to the soup also provided with the mean and the sausage and bacon were cooked just right.

Ridiculously cute and stylish cafe. The decor reminds me of the California beach side: agave plants, palms, etc. The inside has a warm, beautiful wood look with comfortable and intimate seating along with an adorable children's area. The plum soda spritz I had was incredibly refreshing and light and the waffle plates were all creative and well curated in terms of sides. My chicken and waffle was in fact the best waffle I have ever eaten, with a slight sweetness and crunchiness that combined perfectly.

Stopped by here prior to exploring Arashiyama. Cafe was decorated really well and was very clean. Ordered the breakfast set plate which came with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, parfait, bread, croissant, soup, salad, and a coffee! Everything was really good. The girl that helped us out also spoke very good and fluent English. Will come back here again in the future!

Had the special morning plate as the included breakfast with Hotel Grand west Arashiyama. Super filling and delicious, and the presentation is beautiful. The waffle pop is their specialty and is available for takeout.

One of the only cafes opened in the morning and it has a lovely environment to sit and have breakfast. Their waffles are unique with a large variety of flavours!

Popped in after the nearby monkey park around 10:30am. Not crowed. Got the breakfast set for 2000y - drink comes included. Every part of it was delicious - waffle all the way down to the yogurt parfait. No misses! I got the caramel waffle and my wife got strawberry - both were solid and a sweet treat. It gave us some much needed fuel after a busy morning. Strongly recommend this spot!

A wonderful cafe and one of the only ones that opened early (compared to other which didn’t open until 10 or 11). They have an amazing breakfast plate with yummy waffles and a really good soup of the day (ours was corn soup). Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

Very bad matcha latte, the worst I had in Japan. Considering how off from the center it is , there’s no point in making any effort to get there. The prices are not small either.

Convenient location near kiyomizu temple. The ice cream and gelatos are too sweet for my taste. But the summer special drink was really good and refreshing!

Disappointed to walk all the way from the bamboo forest to get what looked like would be a very nice breakfast to be told it was only for hotel guests. We sat outside trying to figure out where to go and two other groups also had a the same experience. Do not walk here hoping for breakfast. I hope they can find someone to change the listing so people don’t bother the long walk. 😞

Had breakfast here on holiday. Everyone in my group agree it's delicious food and great service. I don't normally leave reviews but had to in this case.

My partner and I shared two meals, the Cookies and Cream Waffle set with the Einspanner Hot Coffee and the Waffle Chicken Set with the Regular Black Coffee. Both meals were amazing and overpowering; all up, the meals and drinks were delicious! The service was incredible and the staff were very friendly and understanding as we are foreigners and we don’t completely know the language. I definitely recommend this establishment and it is a must for all in the area!

Very delicious melon soda ice cream

This is a very cozy Café near the famous Bridge in Arashiyama. Me and my friends had a nice evening together and really enjoyed the waffles and ice-cream with the delicious drinks. I really recommend this place if you need some time to relax after spending hours in Arashiyama. Thank you for the nice experience and the delicious waffles!

The reception staff is impolite and very rude to me , not a Japanese. Taste so so , will not recommend, not worth the price .

I found this place unexpectedly. Went in and bought a tea waffle. The best sweet I had so far. If you are in the area i would recommend you to try. I wish i bought a couple more for my family.

only had coffee here, which i checked was ok with them, but got charged 100yen extra from what was written in the menu. Not quite sure if it was a mistake or deliberate, but given I didn’t get any apology when I pointed out, don’t think I’ll come back

The matcha latte was good. Waffle tasted bland; I don’t recommend it.

Rich and delicious double chocolate waffle - just right, not too sweet. My husband tried the strawberry one and that was good too!
