Disappointed ☹️ Firstly there are renovations going on, so a lot of the Castle is obscured. You can't take photos inside and it's too difficult to climb the stairs! It does however have a nice restaurant that overlooks the valley and the houses below. I nice place for a meal and drink or simply have a coffee ☕ and cake 🍰

Well worth the visit. We were not sure what to expect of Wernigerode but we were absolutely blown away by this castle. Such an incredible building inside and out. I would recommend paying to see the inside as it's really impressive.

I've gone to this castle about 5 times with visitors from other countries, and I feel like they don't do enough with special exhibits. My first time there they had an incredible and very fun Donald Duck art exhibit that was light-hearted and and fun juxtaposition to the history of the castle. Since then, there has only been one special exhibit, and the was the most recent one for Christmas, and it wasn't particularly exciting. So if you only go to the castle once, it's quite exciting, especially the dining hall. But for the frequent flyers, I feel it lacks something special to keep people coming back again and again. But, I did see my first double rainbow from the balcony of the palace, so that was special!

No photos are allowed to do inside the castle 🤡 A little bit disappointed, not too much to see. Plus some repairings were been doing exactly by the castle, so it's definitely not the best time to visit the place. The souvenir shop was awful actually, but the castle itself wasn't too bad. Some painting were impressive and the rooms looked lovely too

This is a stunning castle overlooking the beautiful town of Wernigerode - you can’t miss it really, sat on top of the hill! You have choices on how to get up there - walking, by bimlebahn or by horse drawn carriage, we did the latter and it was a wonderful way to spend 30 mins and get to look at the town as you go up to the castle - highly recommended! The castle itself is stunning, we thoroughly enjoyed it even though the majority of the info is obviously in German, there are some bits in English, for example it would describe the room but not the individual contents. Photography and video are not allowed inside the castle unfortunately. There is also a couple of cafes there for some refreshments and a small gift shop. Stunning views over the town from the castle grounds. Lovely way to spend a few hours, not to be missed if you’re in the area!

Very impressive and the highlight of our visit to this part of Germany! The rooms are tastefully decorated in historical accuracy. The wood carvings are absolutely amazing. We got there just before before opening at 10 AM and took about an hour to walk through. There’s a little cafe that opens at 11 so we grabbed a table and enjoyed some Apple Strudel and coffee but the had beer and champagne with strawberries too. Just as we sat the place got busy with tour groups so folks were waiting for a table. Get There early and it shouldn’t be an issue. Over all a great experience! And on your way out, take the hiking path to Wild Park Wernigerode Christianental. The path is easy and although not a lot of animals, the park is beautiful and worth the trip.

We complained about it in the reception and the girl there refused to speak in English and she demanded that we spoke in German.
