I would give zero stars if it were possible. I am a full-time wheelchair user and am used to calling hotels multiple times to confirm they will have an accessible room for me. I spoke with front desk TWICE and both times they told me I would have an accessible room. When I arrived I was first told the hotel did not even have an accessible room. I was later told they did originally have me in the accessible room (so the initial claim was a lie), but gave it away DESPITE the fact it said in the notes that I needed it. They left me stranded in Toronto on a long-weekend. I will never be staying at a Super 8 again. **EDITED TO ADDRESS RESPONSE FROM OWNER** I should have clarified. I opted not to take the ground floor room I was offered ("refused" is a strong word) since it was not accessible and I could not use the non-accessible washroom. I even asked if there was an accessible washroom in a public space I could use, which I think is settling for much less than an able-bodied guest would expect. I don't think the property would expect any other guest to pay to stay in a room with no washroom (being on the ground floor does not make your room accessible, and if you were unaware of that before, now you know). I also DID book through a third-party site, but did so on the advice of their own front desk staff and with the assurance I would get a wheelchair-accessible room (accessible washroom included). I called twice to confirm I would be getting this room and was told both times it would not be a problem. Super 8 Toronto East, I can appreciate you are defending your position in Google Reviews, but in this case I believe you need to educate yourself and your staff on what "Accessible" means. If you are unsure, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act offers plenty of guidance. Taking accountability for your error here, or your lack of awareness around accessibility standards, would have been a better way to demonstrate that you "take your guests comments very seriously."

I gave this hotel 4 stars because it doesn't exactly have any special to draw people in. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable which is really all that matters in a hotel. However, the pool is closed and there is no elevator - something to note for heavy luggage or strollers etc. The website says free breakfast, however when we checked out I noticed no food or coffee from their little TV corner- it wasn't even mentioned to us by staff.

It was nice the first three times I went to this motel but then the last time I went they weren’t so nice at all. I wasn’t able to use my credit card so Bianca and the manager insisted I change my room which makes no sense and I didn’t want to change my room type that I specifically paid for. After I refused, the customer service was terrible :/ and they said it was the last time I should book again which is very rude ? You’re still charging me a lot and you want to act like that. Do better. No worries though because I booked from days inn by Wyndham the week after when I needed to book a room and they were more than happy to accommodate me. It’s weird how you guys argue that your breakfast is part of the standards for Wyndham when this hotel served a way better breakfast with more variety than your stale bread and waffles.

Showed up with the family and it was horrible. Walked into the room there was a hole in the ceiling with cobwebs coming down out of it. Hair all over the mattresses. Dirt all over the floor. It smelled like a wet basement and the bathroom had dust and grim all over the place. the caulking in the bathroom was moldy. We refused to let our kids touch anything in the room. We stayed long enough to book a room at a different hotel and left as soon as we could. I would highly recommend not booking here and finding a different hotel to stay at. We ended up at sandman signature hotel by the Toronto Airport and it was amazing. glad we switched hotels. we will definitely be staying at the sandman alot more.

Bed bugs and poor customer service are a bad combo. Staff didn't want to switch us to another room. Jetted tub didn't work. Said they'd send someone to look at it, didn't. Carpet was grimey, bath tub dirty, blood stains on the wash cloth, sheets smelled stale. They comped usthe first night, but charged us a half day rate for 4 hours where we waited to hear about repairs. We left and went somewhere clean but not before the bed bugs got me good. Had to wash everything at a laundromat before going home. This was supposed to be my husband's birthday AND I'm a wheelchair user. Ableism is gross and so is this "hotel". UPDATE: They are also attempting to charge our credit card $165 for nothing.

The staff is friendly and welcoming. Kudos to that as 3 - 4 star hotels in downtown are unable to provide the basic quality customer service but charge exorbitantly. The option of booking a smoking room makes it more convenient.

I was greeted my Greg who also checked me in.After I settled into my room Greg called to check to see if room was ok, it made me feel like a valued customer.I told him it was good I came down to check out the next morning and Bianca was very helpful making sure I understood all charges and she refunded my deposit as well.Neah was also very helpful assisting with my smooth checkout process. They were friendly, nice they answered any questions I had.The room was nice from the decor, layout, and comfortable bed I slept great. The breakfast was also good with the choice of waffles, toast, cereal, fruit, coffee, juice.I always like when waffles are offered it was delicious. There was a TV and plenty of chairs to sit for breakfast I was able to watch the morning news and also see the traffic on the same screen I like how they had the split screen setup. The complimentary wifi was reliable and fast and I really enjoyed my stay,I will be back again.

Pros: Friendly staffs Cons: Very expensive! We thought it was okay before checking in but we were so disappointed. Dirty rooms! Spider webs all over the walls and ceiling. We rented 4 rooms and all were dirty. Carpets looked like it wasn’t vacuumed for a long time. We even bought cleaning materials to sanitize the rooms. Beddings also looked like recycled from previous occupants. Noodle (food) bits smeared on the wall where the sink is located. Towels weren’t clean (smelled newly washed but it has black stains like car grease). Parking lot is painted with red human spit. Some sconce lights weren’t working. Room 120 window can’t be locked properly so make sure to bring your valuables with you every time you go out. Water leakage in the washroom of our room.

Room was average until we noticed several cockroaches in the bathroom and around the front entrance of the room. Clearly has an infestation. When we asked for our money back the manager offered half, we didn’t accept it and they decided they wouldn’t charge us. $100 for cockroaches? No thanks.

Stayed just for a night with my wife and daughter. Sorry didn't explore the property to see what kind facilities Super 8 has! However Super 8 Inn is clean; Room and Bathroom was clean and well maintained. Super 8 has a simple breakfast offering.

I decided to get a room here so I could be closer to queen st. The price was ok and the rooms reflected that. My room was clean, enjoyed the coffee in rooms. After reading reviews regarding check in and out with billing details. I experience the same. My credit card was 1st billed the exact amount of the room which was called "incidentals". Most hotels put a small amount like 100 bucks. Then the clerk tried to then add the room charge for the same amount again. My bank flagged that and blocked it as 2 charges for the same thing. I then paid the actual room with my debit card. Normally that is the next day at check out. Jumping on to my on line banking, it didn't show a hold on my credit card but a withdrawal. I trusted that my credit card would get that money back on it. It did! Took a few days. Even though checking in and out seems not as smoothly as it could. Over all it worked out. Breakfast is OK, it food on the run. Plenty of parking. Good for people on a budget.

Firstly the staff is most welcoming and helpful. Check in process was smooth and quick. Rooms are ready and if you’re a Wyndham member then early check in is always considered. This is one of the many times I have stayed at Super 8 Toronto East location and with affordable rates the room conditions are also Great. Housekeeping staff is friendly and considerate. Rooms are kept in a good condition with all necessary amenities. The location is close to No- Frills grocery store and Tim Hortons and a lot of other restaurants which is very convenient. overall I would recommend super 8 Toronto East to anyone considering staying. They have smoking and non smoking rooms which is a great plus if your a smoker and a different floor or those who do not smoke!

Poor experience. Hallway and our room was smelly. Bed was not comfortable at all, I barely slept. Our room was on 3rd floor and THERE was NO ELEVATOR, they should've put it in their website. They serve free breakfast yet they couldn't provide a fork, ( that's the only thing I asked from them), we didn't even eat breakfast there. They have coffee machine but they DON'T HAVE COFFEE FILTERS. Unbelievable!! Not worth the price and they couldn't even give compensation since we did late check in and early checked out and never used any of their amenities. I work in reception, so i know how it works. Ridiculous service.

The rooms are nice, place is neat and clean and staff is super friendly and accommodating. I'd love to be back at this place. Staff Sam was really helpful and professional during my accommodation. Kudos to team and management.

Terrible. They advertise breakfast and a pool. None of that. You get to the room and the windows are open (saving electricity by not using AC?) so insects are inside of the room because of the season. And finally, a very dangerous metal coming out of the bed injuring my daughter’s foot. I'll avoid super 8 from now on.

I stayed for a week at this Hotel due to an emergency plumbing/renovation at my house. I was most pleasantly Surprised .. The Staff was very helpful and friendly and assisted me in getting rooms fast on the spot. The Person who helped me was Bianca she was very helpful from the booking to the moment we arrived and during my stay she helped us make our stay very enjoyable . the rooms were spacious and clean only thing was lack of elevator but was good excersize. there even was a billing error and Bianca went out of her way to assist and correct the issue. Exceptional service from Bianca this is how customer service should be Top Notch! i have to return due to further renovations and i will definately return! thanks Bianca , Peter and Mr. Maneer! great Job Robert

WOW!!! What an awesome experience:) The Super 8 by Windham is an excellent Hotel which offers clean elegant rooms that are sure to please anyone who books. On top of this the Hotel has a homie character to it with lots varying room types for you to choose from! Further, the customer service is Excellent and Bianca specifically goes above and beyond with her role at the company👍 You also can’t go wrong with the simple but tasty breakfast offering🧇Will be coming back if I ever need to, 100% recommendation. Needs upgrade ooh yeah upgrade. Curtains, shower head, dirty couch. Good coffee in room, bring your own water. Clean parking lot, clean reception area. Some how expensive considering the accomodations. Not lumps in mattress and pillows.

The beds were cozy and the setup was alright. The lobby staff was really nice, especially Bianca. She gave us the opportunity to check in early and check out later plus her customer service was good. All the staff was nice and considerate of our stay. Breakfast was good, just wished there was another waffle maker and some extra varieties. The issues we had was we encountered some damages pre-made in the room (the toilet handle was loose, the bathroom door was flapping off (we couldn't fully close it without someone else being outside to push the flap in), and before we left, one of the front parts of the drawers broke off due to it being repaired poorly beforehand. There were some noises here and there because of the kids in the other room but it wasn't a major bother to us. Overall, I would recommend a temporary stay in this hotel, it's a decent price, the space is decent, and a great place to chill at. There are definitely some things they can work on but i'm just grateful to have a place to stay for a few nights.

Very reasonable place to stay in Toronto. Two drawbacks 1) the TTC was hard to figure out 2) there is no elevator and we were on the 3 floor. Luggage bumping up and down stairs all night long! Ask to stay on first floor away from the stairs, unless you do not mind staying awake all night.

Decent hotel. Reasonably clean, pleasant and accommodating staff. Tvs and some plugs did not work. Three floors of rooms, but no elevator, so provably not suited for anyone with physical handicaps. Also bathtub was scary. No treads and no hand grips, so it was like an ice skating rink. Continental breakfast was seriously limited, coffee, waffles, cold cereal and white bread with jelly.

  • 1/5 Bonnie D. 10 months ago on Google
Staff were super friendly and the beds were amazing but sadly this is where the good stops. For the price it fell short: Breakfast was a diabetic nightmare, it consisted of your choice of 2 different types of sugar, I mean cereal, waffles you have to make yourself from premixed batter on a dirty waffle iron and toast, coffee or super sugary juice drink. So we went out for breakfast. Internet and tv were a joke, both dropped often to the point of why bother. Plus only about 10 tv channels. Room had a musty smell and a partially consumed bottle of water under the bed (we get things can be missed, it happens). We tried opening the window to get air in to find there was a screw put in the window track allowing it to only open a few of inches which I feel blocks a fire escape. Bath tub looked to be a fungus looking for a place to happen, it was grimey🤮, so no thanks overdose on body spray and head home to shower. Key cards were finicky This is very sad because the staff were so nice and friendly. To be honest we couldn't get out of there fast enough!

Rooms are paper thin. I ended up leaving in the middle of the night because I could hear everything going on around me and could not sleep.I tried to call the front desk to complain about the noise but the phone in my room wasn't working and by then no one was at front desk. Room on parking lot level didn't feel safe for a single woman traveling alone. Wish I could get my $180 back. I also emailed with these concerns I haven't heard back.

MAJOR NO NO: what a scam on the security deposit. They didnt give it back upon checkout on Friday, promised they would etransfer by Monday and failed, promised again on Thursday and still nothing! It is obviously a hustle so stay away if you dont want to lose your money. Plus the rooms are barely clean: found a piece of rock under a pillow and strands of hair in the tub. Remote location with mid prices and sub par standards plus a MONEY RIPOFF! EDIT AFTER MGT REPLY @ 5/30: I have not received my money back yet until this moment as per your false promises, and it is still considered a scam until i get my money back then my review will change but not for the cleanliness nor the delay UPDATE @ 6/5: I just checked into another hotel of ur class and the security deposit worked fine! So the issue is with ur process not my credit card, the blame is all on you now and i still havent gotten my money!

Rooms are clean, updated and service is great. Location is excellent as it is near the lake and the bluffs too (about 8 min drive away). We stayed here due an event at the nearby Guild Estate.

They service is great. BUT For the price I wouldn’t stay again. The front desk area is nice…. after confusion and some shuffling around, Saw a total of 2 different rooms both completely run down, despite being cleaned, they looked horrible, the pluming in the shower could use serious work. The rooms need serious work, paint, flooring…. The bed super uncomfortable.

Dirty carpets not vacuumed in a long time. Insecticide powder visible by the baseboards. Previously used sheets in the bed, evidenced by wrinkles and a lot of hair. Offered another room that also had filthy carpets. Breakfast only had waffles, toast, cereal and cold boiled eggs. I will not repeat my stay.

Bruh look at these pics mane. The bathroom was a little gross. We came into the room and there were full garbages. Still painters tape on the backside of the mirror. And the shower was falling apart and grosser and more run down than your local trap house.

We left within hours of arriving. Someone was smoking weed that saturated the hallway of the second floor, the bathroom floor had dirt in corners and the remnants of a toilet paper wad on the wall directly across from toilet. People were outside, during the night, drinking and hanging out by cars... we didn't feel safe at all! We were still partially charged, with understanding, due to Covid 'deep clean', however, felt almost chastised when desk manager said the smoking was smelled, but it 'was done much earlier'. Point is, if we are asking for a "smoke-free" room, we expect a SMOKE-FREE ROOM!

Very clean building and my room was spotless. Breakfast in morning was great and the pool area looked good but was closed due to pandemic. Would definitely return to this hotel in the future and will enjoy my time at pool. Located in a good area and nice staff. Overall a great stay and great experience.

  • 1/5 Terri F. 2 years ago on Google
Not a great experience. It was a last minute decision to stay in the area. Two of the pillows didn't have pillow cases and the middle table still had hair accessories left on it. And the finishes in the bathrooms looked like they were done by a child. Terrible. Don't bother with this place. I know it's a 2-star hotel but up your game a bit.

Exceptional service, new rooms. I have stayed at this hotel multiple times, and every time the team exceeds my expectations. Even during a pandemic this team has been super accommodating to make me feel comfortable and welcome even with limited services due to Covid. This the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at.

My room was horrible. There was a bunch of knife marks on the wall like someone was sitting in the chair and throwing a knife at the wall. The bathroom door looks like it was kicked in and the the ceiling has water damage and mold above the tub. The light does not turn on at the front door. And the air conditioner smelt like piss. I told the guy working at the front desk and he said he was sorry about that and that was it. This place is not worth $125 a night. We are also in the third stage of reopening and all they serve for breakfast is a muffin and a juice box. I will never come back here again.

We were actually surprised when we walked into the room the room was quite nice the beds were clean and smelled fresh , the room itself was also nice and clean and it had a very nice smell, the beds were comfortable in the pillows were okay.. Now I'll tell you why it only has three stars we booked the room online through third party which I believe everyone nowadays does it's cheaper . When we arrived to check in everything started to go downhill. The hotel clerk pulled up the reservation and was confirming with us verbally what we had booked,, he said I see that you have booked a smoking room and immediately we corrected him and said both of us don't smoke there's no way that we ordered a smoking room actually we didn't even know that smoking was still allowed in hotel rooms. He then indicated that he would have to give us a non-smoking room that would be $10 more and it would have to be a king size bed. The room was booked for myself and my niece for a wedding that we were going to out of town, we said we would like two double beds and no we don't believe that we should be owing you any money. He argued with us for a bit until finally he said okay fine you can have a non-smoking room with two double beds like he was doing us this huge favor.

Worst hotel you can ever go to, bed bugs, lots of bugs actually. Manager is DISRESPECTFUL, me and my family had to change rooms 4 times dude, THE WORST smell, the air conditioner smelled EXTREMELY bad, the manager opened the door by himself without OUR consent. Very bad hotel do not recommend.

Mostly what you expect from a Super 8. Rooms were clean and quiet - quieter than you would expect from a property located next to a busy street. Staff is friendly. Super 8 seems to be one of the worst hotel chains for promoting amenities they don't offer. The website for this property states it has an indoor pool when in fact the pool has been drained and is now just an empty hole. It's this dishonesty that rates it only 2 stars. Otherwise you will be quite comfortable. If you're nostalgic for 'snowy' tv screens, you won't be disappointed. The TV reception, cable I presume, was not the best. The wifi, however, is perfectly find. Edit: I would like to apologize to the employee I yelled at when I called the hotel. I know you guys have a tough enough job without having to deal with angry customers taking their problems out on you. I am embarrassed by my actions and once again, I am sorry for my behaviour during the phone call.

I never write reviews, however I had to for this visit. Do not stay at this hotel. The hotel is dirty, and smells of smoke with febreeze trying to mask it. There are cigarette burns on the carpets, furniture and the bed spreads. The walls have never been wiped. It is well worn. There is clientele that live at the hotel on a full time basis. My heater did not work, nor did my tv. Just awful.

Our unit/ condo building was being inspected by fire officials so the fire alarm kept going off constantly. We both needed a quiet place to get some work done so I decided to check into a room there. What a disappointment! First of all, let me get this straight from the beginning, the staff there are absolutely phenomenal! Looks like they are working to keep food in their table despite knowing this place is a dump! How does this place pass inspection? How? What a disappointment with the room!! 1. The window was open, screen falling outwards and off the window, which allowed flies to be in there. Yuck! 2. The bedspread had burns (at checkout, the staff said to me "well, it's not a smoke-free room"). Yeah! I heard you mention this at check in but I didn't think that I would have to deal with such dingey looking furniture and bedspreads. 3. The couch, and chair at the desk, both need to be thrown out. My one regret is that I did not take photos. From the time I saw the chair at reception, I knew I was probably gonna see things like that in the room. The leather on the receptionists' chair is cracked, peeling, it looks like something to put in the dump. 4. The one thing that kept me from giving them 1 star is the bathroom. At least that was nice. We didn't dare to sit on the couch or chair which were stained and looking filthy! With great AC, we just sat and worked from the bed. Thankfully, we only stayed for a couple of hours. But man, oh man! What a disappointment! At least at checkout, I got the early check-in free refunded when I commented on my disappointment with the room. Thanks to the friendly staff for listening. But super8 owner, do better! Shucks man!

Let me start by saying staff seems nice! And no bugs! When we were waiting to check in someone was complaining because all the vending machines are broken, and the decour in the lobby looks stained. Now let's talk about the room- we walked in there were cigarette burn marks all over and a strong smell of smoke (WE BOOKED A NON SMOKING ROOM) we walk through and there is a phone number etched with a knife on the coffee table, there is a roughly patched hotel in the bathroom wall, there are rips in the screen- went back out mentioned to staff they did come right away and noted the damage then pained the coffee table the next morning, also there were not enough blankets, and the carpet when i accidently walked on it without my shoes was super grimmy. Now I would also like to mention breakfast consisted of 1 oasis juice and 2 nature valley bars. The pool is empty there are old mattress/furnature in the pool area, also they had a large assortment of luggage with tags? The gym area had 1 treadmill we did not check to see if it worked and assumed no. This whole experience was concerning I was very dissappointed that Wyndham puts their stamp of approval on this hotel. The location was ok but NEVER AGAIN. I feel bad for the staff this hotel needs to be closed . The fridge in the room was nice and cold that is a possative

The worst experience in my life, the room smelled awful (I had to get out until the rooms ventilates). They charged me a pre-authorization but hasn't been returned (has been 11 days). It's not close to downtown but easy to arrive.

If I could give a negative 10 I would. I stayed overnight, I left in the morning and returned at 830 pm to no room and my property removed WITHOUT notice or a phone call. For 2hours my bags could'nt be found, and hour later my laptop was found seperated from the rest of item hidden under two chairs (said by a member of their team) and my headphones are missing and of course Im being blamed and NOTHING is being done. The MANAGER MUNIR told me its my problem and a female staff hung up the phone on me. Withing the same night another guet reseveration was completely messed up they are UNPROFFESSIONAL, disrespectful and HORRIBLE customer service. They also have a neighbourhood of rats running around the hotel. Please do yourself a favor and find a different place to stay... even if it is your car.

I was denied the ability to make a reservation solely on my having a service dog. They asked for proof that does not exist, or is illegal, internet id tag with my dogs name and photograph. I begged them to look up what is required by Ontario law, a dr's note, and was even willing to offer my dogs certificate for service dog training, which took him 2 years of training to obtain. They continually refused. This was 10 pm on Sunday July 17th. I, and a few others have tried calling the manager, but he hasn't returned any of our calls. The clerk that took my phone number down, didn't even bother taking my name, so I'm assuming that my message never got through. I am filing a complaint with the human rights tribunal, you cannot deny a service dog entry with the legal documents that I had. I have stayed there in the past, and it definitely would be my last choice anyways, but in that area, there is only one other motel/hotel

Stairway filthy. Railing sticky. Room dirty. Tub drained slow. Sticky weirdness on the walls. Carpet filthy. Room smelled of cigarette smoke even though non smoking room, suspect they knew as window was open when we came in with ripped screen. Let the desk know when we came in that room smelled like smoke and they offered air fresheners. I have asthma so that’s not helpful. Mentioned again in the morning and was met with “thanks bye”. This one is not as good as super 8 usually is. Room 211
