Definitely one of the better Thai restaurants in Markham. Authentic dishes which were made to perfection. We tried all the variety of dishes (fried rice, pad thai, soup) and the seasonings were on the spot. Highly recommend!

Chiang Rai is a restaurant that serves Thai food. The restaurant over all is well decorated and maintained. Very Clean and Ambience is good. We Had tried their Chicken Satay/ Papaya Salad/ Tom Yum Soup/ Thai Red Curry/ Thai Green Curry/ Pad Thai/ Thai Basil Rice and the Drunken Noodles. The food was Good but it suited more for people Living in Canada. Not very spicy or intense like in Bangkok. The Protein was mainly white meat so it was more dry. The Beef was better. Thai Basil Chicken Rice lacked flavour . There wasn’t any Wow Factor but there is a room for improvement. Thai food usually is about spicy and crispy chicken on a skewers like moo ping or Kai Yang. But it was a good meal and experience to sit with childhood friends. Happy Eating

Amazing food. Presentation was beautiful. But I find it a little bit pricey. The coconut rice was the best that went well with green thai curry. We also ordered chicken satay which was not what I expected. Peanut sauce had lumps and chicken was a little chewy. Everything else was just awesome. We ordered the lavender drink which had a beautiful color and was refreshing.

Decided to try this place on Thanksgiving for lunch. We got there early as place started to fill up shortly after noon. Honest take food overall was decent. The famous pad Thai was tasty but slightly on the salty side. Four pieces Satay Chicken skewer was a bit dry. Pineapple 🍍 fried rice was well done to my liking. I really like the mango salad as a appetizer. We had a party of 5 and they considered this a large group and automatically added 18 percent tips on the bill. We were given advance notice. To me, this was a bit of a turnoff as I’ve always tip fairly and in my opinion should be based on the overall customer experience and in particular the service provided. Tipping seems to me like we must do regarding of the quality of service which I have a hard time justifying. Yes, I know tipping has been a hot topic lately but there is also a reason why customers are eating out less and less.

The best Thai restaurant I’ve been to in Toronto! The food is so incredibly delicious and flavourful. The star of the show was the pineapple fried rice. I also loved the pad Thai - next time I’d order it with tofu because I preferred the tofu over the chicken. The interior is really fun and beautiful and it was really heartwarming to see the restaurant packed with diverse cultures and families enjoying their meal. The servers were very friendly. It is a busy restaurant so you may have to call them over and ask for water refills and such. Really excited to go back!

I recently dined at Chiang Rai and was thoroughly impressed. The authentic flavors of their Thai cuisine transported me to the streets of Bangkok. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff ensuring a delightful experience. The ambiance was inviting, complementing the exquisite dishes. Each bite was a burst of flavorful perfection. Chiang Rai is a hidden gem that deserves every bit of its 5-star rating. Highly recommended for an unforgettable culinary journey. This place never fails to amaze me each time I visit. Their food is “Made in Heaven”!

First time here. Small but yery busy place with only 1.5 hour seating time. Staff were pretty friendly and attentive. My Royal Pad Thai took super long to come out and when it did had a slight smell of 'burn' to it. I still ate it, whatever. Soup was nice. I didn't like the mango salad but I never do really anywhere. Overall nice Thai restaurant amd would probably come again if I was nearby and wanted Thai food. I would also recommend to those who like Thai food and are nearby to give this place a try!

Came here for a lunch with some friends and get table in less than 10-15mins can't remember cause we were chatting. We ordered some dishes like the Thai Green Mango Salad, Thai Calamari, Thai Curry and others. All dishes are good except for the Thai Curry that was a bit sweet and when we ask to the waitress why is that so sweet she gave us a bad attitude and was complaining that no-one says that and it cannot be changed and that, we were terrified by this old skinny lady so we just have to ignore her to avoid create a scene over the place. We want to chill and have a good time together, so we avoid to ask more questions to that lady. Food are really good and tasty here. We really loved the Thai food and it's hard to find a decent one in this area. This a good place for Thai food.
