I recently visited Rosetta McClain Gardens for an evening walk with my family, and it was a delightful experience. Despite living in the area for a decade, I had never stopped by before. The garden's serene setting, overlooking the lake, provided a comforting atmosphere for our stroll. The well-kept pathways and vibrant flowers added to its charm. While I once had to leave my dog at home due to their no-dog policy, I now appreciate how it contributes to the garden's peaceful ambiance. It's a perfect spot to escape the city's hustle and immerse oneself in the beauty of nature. If you seek tranquility and a chance to connect with nature's wonders, Rosetta McClain Gardens is a must-visit.

A nice garden in the city, with a view of the lake. Some interesting species and colours of flowers. Most flowers are yet to bloom and not many visitors on a Mother’s Day afternoon. Tranquil and peaceful walk among tall trees and gardens. Squirrels are not shy and looking to be fed. Free parking and washrooms on site. Will come back when flowers are in full bloom.

Had a great visit here and enjoyed the atmosphere of the garden. Met a few people here that were tagging the monarch butterflies before they head off to Mexico. Very fascinating, it's true, you learn something new everyday if you pay attention. Well maintained paths and gardens make this place a joy to walk around. The choices of flowers and colors was amazing and the staff were hard working, yet made time to answer questions about anything in the garden. I saw the most ingenious item on a light post in the park, I thought it was hand sanitizer but in fact it was a sunscreen dispenser. Very cool and very smart especially with the weather in August being so hot πŸ”₯. Enjoyed my time here and i would recommend spending time here as well. Very relaxing atmosphere with some wildlife mixed in. Chipmunks and squirrels will eat right out of your hand..

Small yet elegant. Tranquil and peaceful. Beautiful and picturesque. Exit from the east side, walk about two minutes along the Glen Everest to a trail with steep slope declining to the lake. The trail leads to the cliff. Coming back from the lake however was a little challenging, it was a very hot day. Parking was not an issue in weekdays.

Beautiful quiet park. It's quite serene with plenty of benches around. The gardens are well maintained and filled with beautiful flowers. Tons of green space to lay out a blanket for a picnic. Some areas of shade and areas for those who enjoy the sun. There's a cute gazebo there too. You can also get a nice view of the water if you walk along the fence.

Such a serenity while I was there. For me the best park I ever visited in Toronto. In terms of maintaining the park, its beauty is worth going. Thank you to the authority who is managing. I can stay all day long :) You must visit.

Good quiet place for a stroll !!! Gardens looked great and well manicured- the tulips I believe were in full bloom. When we reached the sun had already set but the water still looked enticing. Parking was free which I thought was a bonus. The flower garden was empty - the roses seemed to be budding though.

Update: Weather was nice and the flowers and garden was growing nicely. Washrooms were up and running and clean. Garden is very well maintained and clearly lots of work is put into it as the lawn is perfectly cut and the plants and flowers are labeled. Water fountain at the center rock was running. Also noticed the no dogs and no biking signs. 3d map with braille in the North East corner. It's an incredibly lovely and tranquil place to go to if you're in the area. Original: We went in the fall so the garden is bare and leaves everywhere. That said, it's a small and quiet garden with a nice walking path. Very small free parking lot on site and almost every tree and bench has a memorial plaque. Nice view of the lake and was quite a number of people when we went. Too high to see the beaches below. Likely stunning in the spring and summer. Has what looks like remnants of a small building in one corner. Nice quiet place for a stroll.

A great walking, exploring and relaxing experience! If you love animals (birds, chipmunks), you can feed them if you want. Very beautiful and soothing place. They maintain it very well. Kudos to the authorities.

Gorgeous garden with well kept flowers and trees. Be warned that the parking lot is small and it is best to wait for cars to leave and take their spots right away. There are public washrooms nearby and many uniquely shaped trees. You can see the lake but there's no direct way down to the water.

This hidden sanctuary is a perfect spot for relaxation, contemplation, or a leisurely stroll. Gorgeous gardens, with well maintained lawns and walkways. There is no maintenance of the walkways in the winter, so it's not accessible to those with mobility devices. From April to November, it is a beautiful place to walk, and enjoy nature. See many different birds, because the gardens are located along a migratory flight path. Bring your camera, and enjoy! *note that dogs are not allowed, and you may be asked to leave if you bring your dog. * professional photos are allowed, but a permit is required

Beautiful garden to get out and walk in. I've been in the summer and the fall and both times was beautiful. There are lots of squirrels and they come right up to you, it's kinda crazy but cool! Highly recommend visiting and walking the grounds!

Not too big but beautiful! I am glad I found this beautiful place in Scarborough. It has trails to walk, resembles a botanical garden, beautiful trees and flowers. The only down side that it is not too big and in 15-20 minutes you can walk around it. I saw people with tents and bbq baskets too. Very nice.

Choice of trees, little nooks and cozy benches, variety of flower borders , little fountain and quaint derelict brick house amazed me. Love it immensely. Washrooms and parking is a great asset. It was such a pleasure to walk there. You may find squirrels and chipmunks begging for some food.

Beautiful free public garden in Southwest Scarborough with limited parking available. Flowers change seasonally and there is a large rose garden to view as well. Great spot for wedding photos, a family get together or just a walk in the park. Bonus! The park overlooks the lake.

Lovely park to spend an hour or two. Plenty of benches. Beautiful flowers and butterflies. Lake views above the bluffs. Not a lot of parking but enough during a week day. A nice hidden gem for Scarborough!

My favourite time to go here is between the months of March to May for the Tulips. They have a large selection with various colours. Great place to take pictures. Bonus is you get to have a stunning view of Bluffers Park!

What an incredibly pleasant surprise to find this beautiful little park hidden away from the madness of the city! So quiet; so peaceful; so stunning! We only had an hour today so I'll definitely have to go back to explore the rest of it another time. The only drawback was that we didn't see many tables (at least in the entrance area) to eat lunch. Lots of benches, though.....

Such a breathtaking park tucked just minutes away from the insanity of the city. Attended yoga in the park on a weekday evening which allowed for a peaceful practice while immersed in nature.

Absolutely loved this place. Such a hidden gem in Scarborough. I have a few coworkers that know this area but have never heard of this garden. There should be better advertising. The washrooms were open which is a bonus. Wasn't too many people- very spaced out. I felt completely safe to roam around. Gorgeous views of Lake Ontario. Only downside is parking lot is small. Holds about 25-30 cars. Considering a lot of people would want to visit this place in the summer, they should consider extending the parking lot or adding a separate parking lot. Overall, highly recommend!

This is one of Toronto's hidden gems. Combining terrific views of Lake Ontario from above the Scarborough Bluffs Cliffs with exquisitely maintained garden spaces it's not surprising that visitors fall in love harder with this garden than many of the others Toronto has to offer. There is a central water fountain, the scented garden, herb garden, a Rose Garden, a limestone rockery, signage in Braille for the blind, and an unnecessarily large butterfly population. There is wonder that newlyweds prefer to take photographs for their wedding albums over here. It's a great site for bird watching too. Busiest days at Rosetta Mcclain GardensΒ Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. 95% of people prefer to travel by car while visiting Rosetta Mcclain Gardens. A really nice get away to calm yourself and taking a walk. Well maintained and parking by the entrance. My favourite is the view of the lake from the top. There's a fence in between though. Overall worth a visit

Beautiful park. lots of shade and flat areas. Public washrooms and good amount of seating available. You can see Lake Ontario at the most southern tip of the Gardens

The good: Absolutely beautiful place to visit!! I had never heard of it before. Clear view of the Bluffs at the back of the park. So many different varieties of flowers and plants. There's even a rock/fountain. The bad: Sign says no dogs allowed. I don't think there are any bathrooms. Parking is very limited, but there is a lot across the street. It's a smaller sized park. No playground for kids.

Lovely to visit these gardens again, we had our wedding photos done here 15 years ago and it is just as lovely. Spring flowers are poking out, trees are budding, and the lake is turquoise far below. I cannot wait to see what the gardeners from the City to to transform the park as spring arrives in full.

I had to visit this park it had good reviews. It's clean and peaceful Gardens also you could feel the breeze coming from the lake. If you like birdwatch there was a beautiful blue jay bird and mum owl with her baby.

Such a beautiful park. The perfect place to take pictures, observe nature, bird watch, admire flowers, sit down with family, & great views of the waterfront! Stone waterfall in the centre of the park, lovely gazebo, and remaining house structure that l photograph extremely well! Every direction you looked was just stunning! There are signs that state no bicycles or dogs - but there were of course both in this area! Raccoons by the structure and garbages near the parking lot- but didn’t bother us/ anyone. Always noticed this area across of Birchmount Stadium but never visited. Hidden Gem - you don’t know what the gardens holds / how nice it is until you take a visit!

Beautiful and very peaceful park. Very nice lay out with lots of benches to sit on. Lots of lovely and beautiful flowers 🌹. This park is wheelchair accessible. It also has a map for those who are blind.

What a cute little spot to visit for a peaceful walk or just to sit and relax. Would also be a lovely spot for an intimate picnic. Beautifully clean and well maintained, flowers and plants of all kinds; butterflies fluttering around to add to the scene. There is a large Rock structure water fountain at the centre of the garden with benches. At the extremity, you’ll be able to view Lake Ontario from above; beautiful scenery. Small parking lot, so if you get lucky you’ll find a spot otherwise good luck.
