Literally, the curry chicken i ordered was not "curry" chicken. It was oil. I dont think these people have ever heard of high cholesterol. Ive been coming to roti hut since I was a little girl (I am currently in my 30s). Sad to say this is my last visit. This is not the first time this has happend and when you complain they dont rectify their mistake. The first picture shows the depth of the oil. The second picture shows the roti in the "curry" Third picture .. look closely at the lids. The lids are saturated with oil Enough was enough people need to be more careful where they eat.

had this late night after coming home late from work. Really nice to know this was on the table waiting for me! They had all the perfect spices and tons of flavour. They roti had a lot of chick peas inside and combined with the meat was a really nice balance of flavours. I did think the roti was a bit dry, but could’ve been due to the fact i didn’t eat it fresh. The goat had a nice curry base, but the meat was a little dry. So the wet curry sauce totally flavoured it up! Also the jerk brought amazing heat to the chicken! This was my fave dish of the whole meal! I will have to come again and update the rating when I’ve had it fresh! Good job with all the flavours! This place is stellar. Amazing taste, portion size is well done it’s basically 2 meals, they’re gravy sauce is soooo tasty. I can’t rave enough about this place. It’s a bit on the pricy side, but it’s worth it. The staff is lovely, and they have a little dining room where you can sit and enjoy your food. By the sign, do many people steal the hit sauce they put out for customers to use?

Excellent food, wonderful flavours, affordable prices. I first got to sample the food from Roti Hut when my wife brought home half of her jerk chicken roti from a lunch where the staff at her work ordered out. This had to be one of the best rotis I have ever had, and was so full of flavour with a great balance of moisture from the curry, and an excellent dough for the roti. I ordered takeout from Roti Hut last month for my family on my birthday, and everyone loved the food. We tried a couple different rotis, the doubles, pholouries, and some patties. Everything was great, although I personally favoured the rotis and did not care too much for the doubles. Would highly recommend the restaurant for some excellent food if you are ever in the area.

Is this called rice? This is the cheapest quality of rice that is used. The food is extremely spicy and I wasn’t even given a choice of whether I want it less spicy or more. The girl in the front was extremely rude and mannerless. We were waiting at the front for a while and the girl was busy doing something behind the desk and didn’t even respond to us. She didn’t know how to behave or give information about the dishes in the menu. Suggestion: If you really want customers to like your restaurant, first hire good and well behaved staff, and then get good quality products for cooking. This was my first time visiting this place and will for sure be the last time visiting.

Unfortunately, this will be the last time I spend my money at this establishment. I used to live around Roti Hut back in the day, and their portions for rotis were good size portions. I ordered a chicken roti, and my order was potatoes with bits of chicken bones. It was like someone cut off most of the chicken meat and gave me a bone with scrapes of chicken on it. Even the roti shell was hard, tough, and over-rolled. So disappointed with my order that I had to take out one of my frozen curry chicken drumsticks to add as chicken for something I paid for-- I paid for a chicken roti; I didn't pay for potato, don't cheat your customers.

Wish this place could dine in, the decor had a nice modern by island feel to it. Food was still delicious when we got home. Oxtail was yum yum, chicken roti n chicken double was on point, stew chicken was a bit on the sweet side but my son killed it still. Definitely going bck to try the other stuff on the menu.

Best roti in Toronto! The dhalpourie roti is perfect. The curries are flavourful. The pepper sauce is delicious. The pholourie balls make a great snack or appetizer. Easy location to get to. Can get very busy. Limited parking spots.

We visited the Roti Hut during lunchtime when we were in the area during the provincial lockdown. We ordered Pumpkin and Spinach Double and Jerk Chicken Roti. Both were fresh and delicious, and we devoured them within a few minutes. The roti was very filling and freshly made. I wish they had a branch in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Mediocre today compared to the many times I've been here. Not sure what it was but roti didn't have the same flavour or consistency was more dry today not much 'fluffy' to the wrap like it used to be today was super thick and too doughy and not much sauce.. maybe just a one off. Service was also mediocre Place always clean, spacious, have a sink you can wash up before eating and washrooms in bsmt have always been clean There's always seating here every time I come. I see most orders are takeouts. Parking can be a pain at times depending on the time you come

Best product you will ever eat in your life. Everything here has been absolutely phenomenal. Probably the best curry goat as well. Those are the only two meat dishes that I've eat so far. Also the potato balls were phenomenal. The picture I took could have been better I already dug in and was eating it LOL couldn't resist

Good portion size for the jerk chicken roti, was at least a pound of food. Service was fast and they were busy too. Didn't taste much from the sauce, but the chicken was well seasoned.

I’ve eaten here numerous times. Doubles are decent. Dahl puri is standard. The chicken curry though - today it was totally off. The meat tasted off. The curry sauce was good. I ordered a side of extra curry sauce which tasted perfect on the side too. The meat could have either been a day old or just not cooked by the same recipe or by the same chef. Overall I will go back but not for the chicken curry.

Got recommended by a friend to try it out. Pretty good lunch spot. I've got goat roti and it was pretty good, nothing really special. Fast and friendly service.

This used to be the best authentic Trinidadian rotis in Toronto and my go to place for my roti cravings. But lately their roti is not what it’s used to be. I usually order the Chicken Breast Boneless Curry roti and I now find that they’re skimping on fillings and there’s not enough sauce inside the roti. The meat is also rather dry and the dhal puri flatbread is not fresh and tasted old. Not also a fan of their doubles, too mushy for my liking and filled mostly with bland curried channa (chickpeas). I also find the service slower than before. You always end up waiting more than 15 mins for your order eventhough it’s not busy and there’s no lineups. With limited places to go in Toronto for the best Trini roti (and I’ve tried a lot of them), I’m having second thoughts of coming back to Roti Hut and just suppressing my roti cravings until I find the next best place.

Although there were a couple of mishaps, it was worth it at the end. It all started with an Uber Eats order that went from a half-hour preparation time to almost an hour! We considered canceling but the fees were ridiculous so, we sticked to the plan. Once we got to the restaurant, we still had to wait about another 20 minutes. Yes! It gets that busy and, the flow inside was erratic. Once we got our order, we had to walk back in because we were actually missing a part of our order. Anyways, back home, it proved to be one of the best home-style Caribbean food that we have tried. We ordered a Goat Roti (Boneless), Shrimp Roti, Small Jerk Chicken Portion and Potato Balls. The flavors were delicious, the Jerk Chicken was addictive with a nice kick of heat, the Rotis were quite satisfying and the fillings portion was pretty good! I wish the Goat was just a little less chewy and the filling made of just meat but, it was well cooked. The Potato Balls turned out to be more of a chewy bland dough (maybe they suffered from the transportation) but, everything else sealed the deal.

Still my favourite roti place! They open at 11:00a.m. on Sundays now! On this visit, my group ordered 5 rotis. The roti skins were soft and delicious as usual. The jerk chicken roti was so tender, juicy and flavourful. The shrimp roti was absolutely loaded with shrimp. The potato channa rotis were full of flavour. We got extra gravy for the shrimp roti and boneless curry chicken rotis and they came through 100%. The store made peanut punch is a delicious dessert in a cup! Total for 5 rotis and 2 peanut punch drinks was just over $80...not really cheap, but not bad for the excellent quality. The only 2 small knocks on this visit were that they were out of the Tropical Rhythm Ginger Sorrel drinks and they don't give hot sauce with takeout any more. The drinks was no problem, but their hot sauce is delicious and really complimented the rotis well in the past. I have a jar at home, but I was taking this elsewhere on this visit and would really have liked some of their delicious hot sauce. Overall, the food was delicious and prepared quickly, the staff was super friendly and efficient. Even after decades, I'm still loving The Roti Hut, but pleeease bring back your delicious (and famous!) hot sauce with your takeout orders! 😉

Went on a Friday evening. You place your order for either take out or sit in at the front counter. For sit in they bring it to your table when the food is ready. Service is always quick. Everything seems super clean and well cared for. I had a goat roti which was very good. Good portion size. Recommend getting extra sauce.

My very first Roti was back in 1983, and yes, it was from the Roti Hut. It has been at least 30 years since I have been to the Roti Hut, to be honest, like many restaurants. I thought they closed years ago. Today I happen to be the area working on a project, and had not eaten in hours, the traffic was terrible, so I turned into Pitfield hoping to avoid traffic and find a a convenience store, when I spotted the Roti Hut! It was still in the same spot. It was bigger, and it had been rebranded, but when I was hit by the lovely sents of spices, I thought, could it still be as good 40 years later? Can I tell you that it might be bigger it might be shinier, but the one thing that did change was the amazing taste of their Roti!!! In a world where little stays the same, it was amazing to eat something that was super tasty the first time and still super tasty now. It was such a nostalgic experience. If you love Roti....go to the Roti Hut, you will not regret it. I ordered my Roti spicy with boneless chicken and channel with extra gravy.....it was unforgettable the first time, and it is unforgettable 40 years later. There are not a lot of restaurants that have this kind of consistency after all these years!!!!!

Ordered take out and the portion was beyond small. Look at the picture. I had to order curry goat from another store downtown for the same price as roti hut in scarborough where rent is much less. What type of heeediot ting dis? The smaller one is roti but the larger one and much heavier one is Ali’s Roti.

Went in for take-out at recommendation of some long standing customers. Place was clean and well organized, menu was clear and simple (with several unique vegetable combinations) and the staff was very efficient and friendly. We had sever rotis and "doubles" and all were moist, favorable , and frankly, delicious. There is a small dining room but we did not stay there. Parking is tight but available. Price was certainly very fair for the portion. there were several local police and fire fighters in line with us so that is probably the best advertisement. Clean, friendly, and good value. I recommend.

One of the best roti shops in Scarborough. Doubles are always fresh and tasty. Not too spicy so you can add your own to taste. Chicken curry is good just like home.

Average doubles,no spice, not enough tamarind sauce, and very small.

Ordered the all veg roti, medium spicy. Perfect balance of spice and sweetness. The filling-to-wrap ratio is just about right - thick on the inside and out! One of the best tasting veggie rotis I've had in the city. The young lady at the counter was very polite and did her best to keep up with the orders. Get her some help please!

Service was fast and efficient. Roti was really good. Curry chicken was also really good, or the goat. Recommend the pumpkin if you want veggie, the Spinach could use some salt. They have an in house peanut punch as well! Overall 5 stars.

The beef roti we ordered was delicious. The portions are pretty generous, enough to share a meal. Can't wait to go back!

I very fond of the roti hut as I have been coming here since I was young, they have good veg options as well as your standard meat dishes. I will be honest if you are a carnivore you would probably prefer the curried goat roti or something to that effect. But for vegetarians the chunna potato roti is excellent, the dalpuri roti is to die for. I prefer my food extra spicy and they do that well here too. The doubles here are very good too and I would recommend them as well.

After reading countless positive reviews about this place, I was extremely disappointed after tasting the food. Although service was fast, doubles were very bland and plain and did not include chutney/hot sauce. the oxtail curry had no flavour or spice and lacked taste. The flavour is not reminiscent of West Indian cuisine. I will stick to Mona's Roti.

The Roti Hut catered my recent engagement party and to say the least my food was beyond amazing! The presentation, the taste, and the amount of food per tray was great! To the owners, thank you! You really played a very important role in making my night so memorable!
