This service here use to be amazing when it was the previous owners. Now it’s Tamil people and they just stare at you and the girl behind the cash is rude. Won’t be coming back lost a customer of 10 years. Wish I could give 0 stars No longer authentic its tamil

Ever since they switched owners the food portions have significantly gotten smaller. They are being very stingy and skimpy for the price you pay. Happened once before and we decided to order again thinking it would be better, but nope, Small portions again...Disappointing. We wont be coming back here. I give this place a year or two before they shut down. The previous west indian owners food also tasted way better. Update: The owner called me back trying to say that they are now using larger containers than before... but even if that was the case, its probably not the smartest business decision. The food portions still look tiny so if you're using big containers than fill the container properly. When he found out I already posted my review he yelled "what's the point?" Than hung up the phone.

I wish it was possible to give the service 0 reviews. I have never experienced a server walk past me and not ask if we were okay after see all the plates and cups at the end of the table piled up for her to take. Let alone knowing that we were still going to order dinner and possibly another drink. On top of that, waiting 15 minutes and then having to get up myself and going to the front made the experience worse. I know the ownership has changed, but this was just ridiculous. I can say that we had the chance to have one appetizer that was just like before so hats off to the chef. As for going there again to even order take out or dine in.. It will still be a no thinking twice

From my perspective something has changed drastically in food quality, as well as management. Upon further inquiry with lady in front she stated she is new owner wife. Apparently this establishment was sold and is no longer operated by West Indian people. Which could very well be the reason the food quality has declined.

Take out is 15m. Location looks empty when you pull up but it's busy. Folks are in and out picking up orders incl catering. I wouldn't get jerk chicken again but would def get the wave fish, nice and spicy. Chow mein was good.

The shrimp and chicken fried rice at this location is pretty tasty and fresh. This is the one fried rice where I eat all of the vegetables with no complaint because texture and flavor is spot on. If you are like me, if I am passing through Toronto, we buy several orders to drive back to Ottawa as we cannot find food like this in the nation's capital.

After being away from Toronto for 9 years i was amazed at how things have not changed, as a matter of fact it may have gotten better. Ordered a jerk wave fried rice. The jerk chicken was a little dry, probably was sitting for a while but wasnt bad just not aa fresh juicy as i remembered. What trumped the chicken was the fried rice. The portion is so generous 2 people could have eaten. The rice was amazing chock full of chicken beef and shrimp (not deveined btw). Rice was fresh and tasty just the right flavours. Oh how ive missed caribbean wave.

Caribbean Wave when they first opened was the spot to go to for decent west indian food. That is certainly not the case in recent years. It has gone downhill!!! I took another try and ordered a large tray of cut up chicken for a party my son was having. The location is close to home and on a Friday we did not want to get caught in traffic. The tray was 110 CASH. The chicken was dry and then some. There were pieces that honestly looked like they had been refried as it was not edible and we had to throw out. To spend 100 on a tray of food for a gathering and have such a bad experience is very disappointing. Dry up chicken that you could choke on!!! I made a sauce and doused the pieces which ended being only 3/4 of the tray!! Never ever ordering there again and I will tell my family and friends but they do not order there anyways! No concept of quality and even customer service!

Food quality is getting lower by week. Always have to fight for a hot sauce because the owner has the one sauce for one order, policy. The tiny hot sauce container only half way filled. The owner wants you to pay extra for the sauce even you placed an order for more than $100.0. Very disappointing to see a neighborhood establishment falling a part. Fix it we will be back. & I am a customer at wave for more than10+ years.

The food was very tasty. I'm glad we made an impulsive decision to go there for dinner. The owner and staff were very warm and friendly. They treat you like family

I usually try different places in Toronto for self pleasure cuz I’m a big foodie and food is literally my biggest pleasure and no one has please me with my moneys worth more than this place I love the shrimp fried rice, chow mein, the wings are real nice as well as the jerk chicken, the beef curry is not much to my liking but “to each their own” 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

This place was my go to for Caribbean food for over 5 years but since they changed owners I will never go back the staff is so rude especially the girl behind the counter if you hate your job you should find a new one. It’s bringing the business down and the name the old owners worked had to get. If this establishment cares about there business they would get rid of her. Its very unfortunate because the food is amazing but because of the staff they’ve lost a customer.

I haven't been here in over 3 years. Went there recently, the food wasn't as salty as I remembered it to be. Good thing or bad, that's for you to decide. But I had soya sauce at home, so it wasn't an issue getting that salty flavour. LOL. Noticed new management, which shouldn't matter, since the cooks are Chinese and they're the ones that make your food. I'm just hoping they kept the chefs when they bought it from the previous owners.

Used to love the chili chicken here, was a deep dark soy based flavour which they’ve had for years, ordered today and it was more on the slightly sweet ketchup-y side. Fried rice was bland, fried chicken on top was ok. Pepper sauce was good. Hearing the owners changed, hope they bring back the old classics.

Ordered the pepper shrimp and veggie fried rice. We loved this place when we lived in Scarborough. As as with many other restaurants the food quality has taken a hit but the prices climb. We’ve definitely had better pepper shrimp from here but overall the food still had good flavour and was good

Very good food. I ordered the special fried rice and the Special Jerk Chicken Chow mien. The service was courteous and prompt. It was busy and I waited 15 min for my order but that was ok. It was worth the wait. They were generous with the portions and the flavor of both dishes was great. I will definitely return for more! 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾

Caribbean Wave came through for us big time!!! They catered for us last Sunday at Malvern Christian Assembly for 700 people! We ordered trays of fried rice, fried chicken and jerk chicken. The food was all ready 10 minutes prior to pick up, the food stayed hot until we served it, and the food was delicious. It is no easy task to have 50 trays of food ready for 11am, but they did it and did it well! We were so pleased with Amanda and her amazing customer service and organization. She made the process extremely easy and enjoyable. We will definitely be using them for future events!

I started eating here when they first opened in 2010. This was my go-to spot for authentic Caribbean food. Back then and up until recently, the food quality had remained the same. I started to notice a decline in quality and customer service and inquired as to where the owners were because I hadn’t seen them in a few months, which was very usual (they’re usually there regularly). To my surprise I was told that they sold the restaurant. In my opinion the restaurant has declined significantly since Krish and Bibi sold it. I can no longer trust that the meat is halal and the dishes that we used to order regularly no longer taste the same. The difference in quality is so recognizable that we’ve stopped eating here. It’s so unfortunate that this is what Caribbean Wave has come to. It really USED to be the best caribbean restaurant in East Scarborough. The people who’ve been eating here for years will be easily notice the decline in quality, service, and overall atmosphere. I hope they make the necessary improvements. Maybe then we’ll be back.

Loved my oxtail. So tasty!! 10 to 15 minutes for take out.

I got the wave wings and pepper shrimp. Thought the wave wings would have some sauce but they were just plain which was disappointing. They said it was spicy but it wasn't. They were just plain no seasoning nothing. Pepper shrimp was okay for pepper shrimp but other places are far better if ur looking for pepper shrimp. Their portion size was decent though.

Oxtail with Dhal Puri and Goat Curry with Plain Roti. Sooooo good!! Picture doesn't do it nearly the justice it deserves. Go order it and try it out ... now!

I like this place! They serve marvelous meals, their menu is nice, The chef in that restaurant is an expert, I love very much eating all their dishes. The food is always of high qualtity, the attitude towards the clients is helpful. I go often to this restaurant and I not even once was unsatisfied. I recommend this place.

I do not recommed. Went there for the first time today and the server was very dismissive. I ordered oxtail and I basically got just rice. there was more rice than meat and the oxtail was not authentic....it looked and tasted different. needed a but more salt. Also do not be fooled this is not a Jamaican Caribbean restaurant, it's Guyanese - not that anything is wrong with that but just wanted to say that for the people looking around for authenthic Jamaican food. Customer service is poor! as a first timer it was not a good impression and I will not be going back. I just wasted $17.25.

Went here for a quick lunch and I couldn't be more impressed. Amanda was helpful and explained the menu very well and suggested the chicken curry as I like chicken. Best chicken curry I ever had in ages! She recommended I add some hot sauce for a kick which I did and I must say it was delightful. It came with dhal pouri which was fresh and tasty. I will be coming back as this is my new go to spot. Great work Amanda and amazing food Carribean Wave.

Food is okay but service is TERRIBLE. The girl taking the orders yesterday night is soooo rude. I seriously do not get it. And the food has gone down in quality and quantity, it’s crazy. I’ve been coming here for over 5 years but NEVER AGAIN!

I was working in the area and decided to give this place a try, normally i cook my own Caribbean food. But i took a risk. Let me say the food was the best i have had from a Caribbean restaurant since moving here 25years ago. Very flavorful and the hot sauce came on the side so i can have it if i choose too. Pure flavor in the food not like the others where they mask the taste with hot pepper.the girl the served us was very friendly and she smiled lol

We traveled all the way from Burlington for this grub and it was off the chain! Although we came in after the curries and roti were done for the day, we still had some great late-dinner eats in a family-friendly dining atmosphere. Fried rice was seasoned well and not too salty or oily. Jerk chicken + Chinese fusion dishes is such a great combination. Their Lo Mein was great texture (not too soft) and flavour. In addition to their fusion, they also had great chicken wings. Kids loved the honey garlic, and the adults thoroughly enjoyed the spicy Wave chicken wings. Lastly, very affordable price point. Will definitely return next time I'm in the Meadowdale area.

One of the best places in Scarborough for tasty West Indian/Chinese fusion dishes - chow mein, lo mein, rice, etc all mixed with your choice of chicken, beef, shrimp, ox-tail, etc. Several other food items available. You can sit in and eat, get delivery or call ahead and get your food on the go. Highly recommended.

Caribbean Wave has and continues to be my go to for family celebrations food orders. I’m located in Durham but still enjoy the drive to pickup my take-out chicken fried rice/chow mein platters. The food is always amazing!!! Thank you.

Ended up ordering for myself, my bro and his family. Everything tasted really good. Thank you for reminding us of the taste of home (Caribbean). The 4hr drive may be a hassle but it is worth it.

Oxtail was good and the quality was definitely there (many places have what looks like left over pieces of oxtail, but not this place). Prices are a bit steep though, got a large oxtail (just meat) and it was 20$ + tax. I'd out the quantity closer to 17$ worth

Decent food but won’t come back due to the rude staff. The girls working behind the counter need to find a new as their attitude is completely unnecessary. Ordered food and once it was ready were told “you need to leave” as they were closing up but they were open for another hour… whatever it may be there’s a nice way to speak to your customers and y’all need to learn some manners

Let me tell you summin! This is the place to be! The environment is good. Lovely staff! Fresh food! I was very pleased with the service. This will be my little special spot for dining in 💕
