It’s a Cantonese food classic and a staple for Chinese families :) put together a small group for maximum effect. I came with a party of six and the final bill was just over 100 after tips and tax. Not bad at all! We ordered the Cantonese chow mien, ho fen, chilli salt pork chops, fried dough sticks in rice rolls, black pepper beef, braised beef brisket, fried turnips, and a few other dishes; all delicious. Meat is all tender and cooked well. Also the speed of service is something else. After just 5 minutes most of our order was served. Be sure to bring cash; it’s a 10% discount! I’ve come here every now and then but never left a well deserved review until now 👍

I live on Bonis across agincourt mall where this this Congee Queen is located. We have been dining when that was allowed and taking out for several years. Yesterday I ordered for take out and when picking up I asked for chili oil. I was given two small containers (picture attached) and when I asked for 1 more the person at the take out said $0.35 for each extra. I paid for the extra one. I am leaving this review hoping that the owner or operator of this restaurant does read this and understand that these are the small things that will send customers away from your restaurant. Besides this not so customer focused interaction, I have to say there is never been one time that their food has not been good. It's consistently good.

Food was good, one of the best locations amongst Congee Queen restaurants in the GTA! Service was bad... Waitlisted and waited for 30 mins despite making a reservation... Had to request plates and sauces multiple times before receiving them...

Best place to get authentic Chinese food. Their turnip patties are a must have. Huge serving size. Great service. Unlimited free tea.

Dining and washroom areas was clean! Servers were great! They made you feel very welcome and are thankful that you are there dining with them! Price, quantity and taste of their foods were great! Better place to go besides Perfect Chinese Restaurant where servers don't want anyone to dine in there! The reason why they give you attitude each time you ask for service nicely!

The large seafood congee, barbecued pork with honey, and crispy tiger shrimp and mango salad tossed with custard sauce were among the dishes we ordered. I really like the salad; it reminded me of the hot shrimp salad I used to eat; however, I'm not a fan of the congee; I've had far better congee; the only saving grace is that the serving is huge; however, the bbq pork with honey is just okay; there's nothing special about the congee or the bbq pork. It would be fantastic if the restaurant just added dumplings to their menu; Chinese restaurants must always offer dumplings. I liked how accommodating the staff was, and despite the fact that the restaurant was full, we were able to get a seat within a minute or two.

Highly recommend!!! Extensive menu, large dining room, quick service and reasonable prices. Quality of the dishes is very good and portion sizes are large to share family style. Tables and booths are very large providing lots space to enjoy your meal. Covid social distancing precautions are well done and felt safe.

Went to this place for lunch. Have a few vegetarian options but food quantity was generous and had to be taken as carry out. They also serve Tsingtao beer and bubble teas. Wait time is also not much and the service is quick. Do give it a visit if you are in the area. They can also give condiments if you find food a bit on bland side. Cute part was candy with bill payment

This is the go to place for my parents who like their BBQ meats. We ordered the BBQ duck which had crispy skin and it came with yummy oyster-sauced beans, a tradition from Hong Kong. Deep fried tofu with salt and pepper is crispy. The Canton chow mien is my son’s favourite. The portion is decent with abundant amounts of veggies and meat, though missing some shrimps. Congee is good with lots of stuff inside and good constituency. Good that there wasn’t much msg like other places. Snow pea tips were also crunchy and tasty. Only the service was minimal and there was a small fly trying to taste our food all the time!

I hadn't had Congee Queen in a while - since before the pandemic! Going off of memory, my expectations were very high since I recalled liking everything I had last dining experience where I tried a wide variety of menu options (at a west end location).. it's definitely a great spot for large groups and sharing plates. However, this round was hit and miss! I did appreciate how extensive the menu is, the prices are low, while the portions are big; and I was able to try a lot of menu options this time around as well. The few dishes that I really enjoyed (out of several) were the turnip cakes, general tso chicken and fried eggplant. The dish that disappointed me the most was probably the shrimp and scallop congee - it was just so underwhelming in flavour (also lacking salt) and seafood quantity compared to the larger seafood mix that's only offered in a large bowl size which is LOADED with seafood (they need to have it in a small size too!!). Also the menu option "mushrooms with vegetables" turned out to be *mushrooms with a ton of Bok Choy* and although I like Bok Choy... We were expecting more of a veggie variety with the word "vegetables" being used. The beef dishes were also not that great, just ok - I'd definitely recommend trying the chicken dishes over the beef ones.

Typical Cantonese restaurant. Cozy and clean . Food was authentic and portions were generous. Service was fast, most waitstaff were friendly but some were pushy. We were being rushed to leave right away once bill was paid, because it was very busy during dinner time.

Came here on a Sunday for lunch and it was quite busy but still was able to get a table for 6 without a reservation and no waiting! Lots of variety here! They have a big menu here that might be a little overwhelming but their kitchen is great! We were able to order from a QR code they provide so there was less of a wait time ordering straight to the kitchen. We ordered: - K42 Spice & Pepper Salt Squid ($15.50) - K57 Deep Fried Chicken Wings 6 pieces ($12) x2 - K58 Spice & Pepper Salt Bean Curd ($11) - H1 Empress Fried Rice ($20.50) - P3 Shrimp & Chive Rice Noodle Roll ($7.50) x2 - B1 Scallop with Tiger Shrimp Congee ($12.50) - E3 Cantonese Chow Mein All these foods were pretty tasty, and spent overall about $130 for 6 people with some leftovers. Not bad for quality food. They also gave complimentary tea with tasted great, not too strong, and they were quick with tea refills, usually under a minute for them to come with a new teapot. Very friendly staff with quick and reliable service. We’ll be back! -

Food come out quickly, hot and tasty. Service is attentive. Noise level and cleanliness is what you can expect for a Chinese restaurant. The highlight is the dessert! Not overly sweet and with lots of ingredients.

One of favourite places to get congee and other Asian food. If you know how to order or what to order, how they cook and season it is superb. It’s not too salty or not too sweet. I love coming back here. If you aren’t familiar with what to order, look at the other tables and see for yourself. I enjoy using my phone to order the phone. Ensures I get exactly what I ordered and I know the price at the end to pay. Service is quick. Doesn’t disappoint.

This is the Congee Queen location I go to the most. They are always so busy . Their Chinese BBQ is so good . The quality is always the same . BBQ PORK is never dry. The roast duck skin crispy and meat juicy . Usually get the fried grouper but today I got the fried sea bass, which was very light and tasty the sauce was a little on the salty side . The wonton soup was as usual fresh and cooked well. Definitely a place to go if you are doing large groups , because their serving sizes are bigger . If you pay cash they give you a discount it was 10 percent but I think they changed it to 5 percent discount . They also have lunch menus during the week and afternoon tea menu during the week as well.

This was the best Congee Queen I’ve been to so far! The food was fresh, hot, tasty, didn’t take too long to get to the table either. The highlights are always the turnips. Also ordered the friend rice, beef, general Tao’s chicken, lo-mein. Everything was very very good.

I love their lunch special. It's not cheap BUT very reasonably priced, as it's in a good portion and has everything I want - a main dish, rice, soup, snacks (spring roll), dessert (orange) and a drink. All items are put together very well. We ordered Sweet and Sour Pork and Bitter Melon Pork. Both are sticky items in Chinese cuisine, and I'm happy that they both have good authentic taste. The vibe and services are good. Most of the customers are older adults and families so the staff are trained to be patient and friendly. I recommend Congee Queen for anyone who is looking for a Chinese restaurant where you can bring your whole family.

Nice aesthetic restaurant with a vase as a pillar :O Food was very tasty. Tried the Empress Fried Rice, Pork Internal Delicacy Congee, Crab Meat with Fish Maw Thick Soup, and some pork thing (forgot the name). Not too salty, lots of flavour. Recommended for bigger groups so bring your family and friends!

I’ve never been to this Congee Queen location and now it’s my favourite of them all! Every dish that I ordered was incredible! Despite the food coming out super fast, the food was delicious! Everything I had was unreal good. The turnips are a pleasant surprise. Crispy on the outside, soft like a pillow on the inside. The golden bowl is another one of my favourite dishes. So saucy, so tender, so good. Pro tip, bring cash and receive a 15% discount

Had a blast here with some friends! Ordered the Spice & Pepper Salt Squid (K42), Wok-Seared Chicken in Black Bean Sauce on Sizzling Hot Plate (K14), Crab Meat with Corn Thick Soup (D4), and Seafood with Dried Garlic Fried Rice (H9). Everything was amazing! As with all Congee Queens, the dishes came out promptly and the portions were generous. The servers were welcoming and helpful. The atmosphere was typical of other Congee Queen locations, which isn't a bad thing. Highly recommend this place to anyone craving affordable and good quality Cantonese Chinese cuisine!

Talk about consistent! 🙌🏼 We’ve always had this in our “usuals” list because you’re sure you’ll get exactly what you ordered. This has been an institution in our area. Our staple orders are always their yang chow, lemon chicken, bbq pork and roast pork, and their Cantonese chow mein (I forgot to take a photo of this). They never disappoint - whether dine in or takeout, you’ll get the same quality dishes. Guaranteed, we eat here at least once a month and it’s always time and money well spent.

Congee Queen is a popular Cantonese restaurant chain serving up some delicious sizzling plates, congee, fried noodles, fried rice, chinese bbq, and many other delicacies. I've been going to this location for many years. Over the years, the prices have gone up significantly and have eroded the value. Some dishes were generous portions, while some were tiny like the tiger shrimps. If you are looking for some wok hei order a sizzling plate or chow mein. My favourites are Cantonese chowmein, Yeung chow fried rice, fried chili turnips, salt n pepper squid, sweet and sour pork. There are many options in Scarborough if you're looking for some traditional Cantonese comfort food. Be sure to check them out but make sure you bring cash so you can take advantage of the 10% cash discount.

All of their dishes are amazingly delicious, they are slightly higher on pricing compared to other Chinese restaurants but they certainly make up for it in their portions, quality and taste. The slight annoying thing is which table they might give you when it's busy if you go alone or for a party of 2. Their small tables are jammed close to one another and some are tables of 4 spilt into 2 tables of 2 by putting up a plastic divider that is clamped onto the table. And depending on which side of the table you sit, if the divider is clamped on your side... you lose a portion of your already small table space. So if you order more then 2 main dishes... table space becomes a problem.

Best Chinese food I ever had! The service was excellent and the food came within 5 minutes of placing your order. Staff was very friendly and helped with finding some items on the menu. Will definitely be coming again!

My family receives fast service every time we come to this location. Congee Queen is our go-to for comfort food. The food is always delicious. Prices reflect the quality of the food. We normally order Seafood congee, Cantonese chow mein noodles, Beef with broccoli, Yeung chow fried rice and spicy salty squid. Highly recommend any of those dishes! Today (May 19 2023) we tried the Holiday set for 4 and we enjoyed everything! The lobster was delicious!

The food is still tasty good. A bowl of Wanton Noodles Soup is now $8.75, and Fried Chilli Turnip is $10.50 It is great that there is also a 10% discount for cash payment. The social distancing by customers waiting for order and pick-up is lacking. I will only dine-in for not more than an hour.

  • 5/5 Michel Yi-Hao T. 2 years ago on Google
A place where I can feel at home (I am Chinese), eat truly comforting food, and get a great bang for my buck. Superficially, the prices may seem high. However, the food is well worth the price. Their food portions are very generous, their flavours are authentic, and most importantly, their congee has a warm richness to it. Their congee is none of that watery congee that you sometimes get elsewhere, and on top of that, it actually has flavour. This is the place where I would take my parents, if they ever decide to come visit me in Canada. Also, every time that I feel sick and have a weak appetite, I'm always tempted to order their food. Edit: This is a small Super Bowl Congee and Fried Chili Turnip Cakes

I had the last lunch date of the year 2021 with my husband here. Excellent food! Shrimp and Chive Rice Noodle Roll and their milk tea without sugar are definitely must-try. We also tried Minced Beef with Preserved Mustard Congee and Preserved Duck and Chicken with Rice in Hot Pot and both were excellent.

We went on last Sunday September 5, 2021 lunch time they're accommodated us to sit down but we are so disappointed with the food compared before the foods are tasteful and you gonna enjoy the smell of the food but now tasteless and not presentable. We didn't finish the food. Sorry to say we are dissatisfied 😪😔

  • 5/5 Richard L. 2 years ago on Google
Although a franchise, it is well loved by my family and friends, decently priced for eat-in experience, with large portions. This is one of those restaurants where you probably appreciate the dine-in more than the take out. The waitstaff do a fantastic job. Make sure to get the spicy softshell crab fried rice, general tao chicken and turnip cakes.

Pickup order via Uber. Very yummy food! I thought it was a bit pricey, but it was big enough for the price. Enjoyed leftovers for next day lunch as well.

We love this place and come every time we visit our relatives here. Everything is delicious, fair prices and they give you big amount of food so you can take some Home after.

  • 4/5 Rachel 2 years ago on Google
Large portions. Bubble tea is not the best here. Spicy Pepper and Salt Fried fish is too salty. BBQ rice noodle roll is made so well here. Cantonese fried noodles is spot on. Preserved duck and chicken hot pot is good. Duck too salty.
