A lot of people from my generation immediately think of Ambika Jewellers when they think of gold. They were the first real Tamil jewellery store in Toronto and have almost a cult like status in the community. My parents brought me here when I was seven months old to pierce my ears and I just ordered my wedding bands from the Kennedy and eglinton location today. I can remember spending a lot of time growing up waiting on my mom or aunts selecting jewellery for themselves or for gifts and hearing a lot of joking and laughter between them and the ladies behind the counter. They always speak very highly of the sisters that own the business and say they feel like they are visiting relatives. Buying jewellery can be nerve racking if you do not have someone you can trust. You never have to be nervous about the quality of the gold at any of their locations. I've heard of other retailers that scam people and sell gold that is less than 22k. Our family has never had an issue over 30 years. We are always treated with warmth and leave satisfied with our purchases. We will always be ambika jewellerys customers and maybe one day I'll bring my own baby for her first earrings. Keep up the great work!

Worst experience ever..... They supposed to open at 12....I went two times between 12 and 1....they displayed open sign outside two....but the lady inside didn't even open the door..she was looking at me and just waved NO both of the times....

I found out about Ambika Jewellers through my sister. When she recommended this jewellery store; I assumed that it would not be anything special, but little did I know I would be completely wrong! Walking into the store the ambiance around me oozed out class and professionalism. All the jewellery hanging on the walls had such fine craftsmanship to the point where they were truly works of art. Right when I walked in, I was greeted with such a warm welcome. The workers did not bombard me right away and actually gave me the time to browse and look around. When a worker approached me she was very respectful and knowledgable. She was able to answer all my questions without any hesitation, and you could automatically tell that she knew what she was talking about. I was very indecisive with the rings that I was going to purchase, but she still took the time to help me without giving any attitude for always changing my mind. Even when I asked her to take out three trays of rings, she went through each tray with me and genuinely helped me find the perfect rings for myself. While I was there, I also decided to get my cousin a necklace with her name engraved. I was able to choose the font I wanted with the length of the chain that I thought would be best. The necklace came out perfect, and my cousin absolutely loved it! My experience in Ambika was in all honesty perfect at best. The pieces of jewellery were all stunning, with customer service absolutely superb. If you want excellent quality gold, shop only Ambika. 100% I would recommend!!!

I've been coming to this jewellery store for the past 10 years. I've brought my friends/family over here and they continue to shop here. They have a great and vast selection of gold and silver! I was just there today to buy a chain and a pair of earrings. If you want to find unique pieces with a fair price then you should go here.

The best jewellery store if you’re looking for honest salespeople and pure 916 gold. I’ve visited a couple of times and have had excellent treatment by the owners. Would highly recommend especially if you’re purchasing gold for the first time. They patiently explained the breakdown of the price and when I asked around, Ambika jewellers has a very strong name for the quality of their gold.

I came to this store for the first time last year by recommendation from my friend. I purchased silver and gold jewellery and have had no issues. I am more used to buying gold in India but with the lockdown I haven’t had a choice. They promise 22 carat gold and when I checked the purity at another store, they told me the gold was good. Price is most reasonable in the market.

Ambika jewellers has been our family jewellers for years and I can’t think of anywhere else I would go. They are always so flexible and willing to whatever design jewelry I want. My brothers got their wedding jewellery here, my cousins got their wedding jewelry here and I’ve ordered my wedding jewellery here. Best jewellery store that I recommend to everyone!

I’ve been to this store both with my parents and on my own. The Aunty that works here is really nice and helpful. I had a ring I needed to pick up because I was flying out of the country last Sunday. They said they had to close early for a wedding reception in their family but they stayed and waited for me. Great customer service. The only negative I would say is that that they don’t have enough staffs. If they are helping people they won’t help you at the same time. It’s annoying but the good this is that you get their whole attention when they are helping you and make sure your are happy with what you’re buying. Not too pushy sales.

I went to the store, the man who was on the counter he was drunk and he talk very rude with me. He gave me the double price of the ear rings. Not recommended at all stay away from them. They are drunk thieves in the market.

Please do not put your money and trust them with it. I've had a very bad experience with them, they forged my signature and made it look like I've bought the gold for the money I saved up for a year. This happened during the Pandemic. Their store was closed during this time, and once they reopened I went to go get my gold for the Money saved up for a year, they pulled out their Log to tell me I already bought it during the Pandemic. How was that possible while we were under a lockdown?

I came here last month for a birthday gift. The sales girl was very patient and gave me a good price. I shopped around before I came to Ambika and really liked their selection and price. My sister loved the bracelet but it was too big for her. I came in today and was able to get the alteration done right away and with a smile and without a charge. Good to know that they value their customers and work to make sure you’re happy with your purchase long after the sale is done. I’ll be back soon

This store has the best selection of 22k jewellery. I came with my parents to purchase all of my sisters wedding gold and her fiancé also bought their Thali Kodi from them. Very attentive staff and really original pieces. I also got a very simple and unique necklace set for myself for the wedding. My parents have been buying gold from them for more than 20 years so you know it’s the real deal.

hi, thank you to the staff at Ambika Jewellers in Scarborough for helping me to choose jewels for my newborn baby. I purchased a waist chain, bangles and a ring. I will recommend them for all your jewellery needs. Outside of India, this is my first time purchasing gold. They were very transparent in their sale and gave me a very reasonable price. Since the lockdown has lifted, they are also very strict about limiting the number of customers at a time and made everyone feel safe.

These people have horrible customer service. 2 big reasons: 1. They are very particular to who they serve. If you dont dress up to their standards, they dont help you with the same respect and dignity as they would to someone that looks more posh and 'rich'. We waited patiently for so long, only to get insulted. We as people after us were served. When we confronted them they couldn't even acknowledge the fact that they were completely disrespectful. 2. Thier store hours DO NOT match the hours on Google. We checked ther hours and it said the store closes at 8pm. We arrived at the store for 7pm. All they cared about was closing up shop and leaving, they already stated packing their product and putting them away while there were still customer in the store. If you have to leave early I understand..but why let customers in to the store if you want to close. Jusr put a sign outside so people dont have to waste time to get insulted in the end. I can go all day about their horrible service. If I could pick a minus star I would. I WOULD NOT recommend this place to ANYONE.!!!!

I visited this store a week before Dhanteras (auspicious day to but gold as per Hindu religion) to buy gold. They had 1 oz gold bar available in stock and quoted me $2950. When I asked a few questions, the owner didn’t care to answer properly. He seemed least interested and turned me away saying I should visit again if I make up my mind. I was disappointed at the kind of treatment I received and left the store. I got the exact same gold bar at RBC for $2810.20 ($140 less than their quoted price). On the day of Dhanteras I visited the store again to buy a small silver coin as I yet hadn’t received my gold bar. They gave me a 5 grams silver coin for $30 (It shouldn’t be more than $10 even if I include making charges) because the silver price on that very same day was $0.99/gram. Not only are they extremely over priced but also discriminatory (I felt) and picky in terms of who to serve. I’m giving one rating only because the staff that works there is very polite and helpful (in particular one lady, I couldn’t catch her name but she was relatively young). Please go to other places as you’ll find good/better quality products for much better prices and with much better service. Definitely NEVER visiting this store again!

Do not shop here. I have been a customer for decades and these people are such scammers. You can get a better bang for your buck literally anywhere else. I brought in a 24K gold chain to sell and was looking to buy a new one. The weight of the new necklace was significantly less but I was given a horrible offer for my chain cause it was “used.” Basically the payout and buy price for the new chain was the same despite it being half the weight. I left and went to another nearby jewelry store who instantly gave me a much better price. Save your money. Shop elsewhere

Idiot is the only word I could use for the owner. Most rude and disrespective behaviour with his customers. He was not just showing with no interest on his face but started heated argument when asked for price comparision. We did not find worth buying here, he better close the store if the same behaviour continues. Highly unrecommend.

They have good selections...similiar to jewellry...I bought in Singapore...I recommend Ambika...to every Sri Lankan or Indian...Even if your not South Asian....this is a good place to buy...if you want pure gold...thank-you.

Purchased a beautiful 22ct necklace with a pendant yesterday for a very good price. They even bought my other necklace off me for much more than other stores offered me. The workers here are very friendly, patient and super helpful. If you don’t not know much about gold jewelry I highly recommend coming here because unlike all other jewelry stores they will treat you well and won’t rip you off.

Very poor customer service. We had visited this place and found it locked out and apparently we'd to book an appointment just to visit this shop. Very frustrating. We gave them a call immediately and we saw there were just 4 customers inside the shop, even after that, we were given a timeslot to visit the shop, a day after. Haven't had such experience as a customer till day.

I have ordered through online and it says we can pick it up within 24 hours but even after 2 days nobody even call me or didn't send me an e mail. I had to call few times and after westing my time they said that they don't have that design ( which i already ordered) and ask me to select another design) then again they called me and said i have to pay in the store but i already paid and it deduct from my credit card. Then they said they will cancel the order and i will receive my money after 5 days . Don't every think to order anything from online from them.
