What an absolutely amazing experience. Saw this place on Tiktok (of all places) and found myself hungry and on the 401. So glad we decided to try this spot out. When you pull up in the parking lot and see all the lumber outside a giant smoker, you know the BBQ is going to be good. We got a full rack of ribs, 1lb of the Korean Short Ribs, mac and Cheese, and a Jalapeno Corn Bread. Everything was superb. The ribs were meaty and great for sharing. So much meat on them and they are cooked perfectly. The Korean Short ribs were probably the best I've ever had. I wish we got more. They were slice thin and the cuts were pretty massive. They were so soft and just melted in your mouth. The mac and cheese was a big surprise. It looks pretty basic, but once you try it you'll recognize it's not basic at all. Has a nice kick to it with a strong cheddar taste. Very good. I will definitely be visiting again if I'm in Toronto.

Ordered the All meat platter online through their website, was a very smooth process. Order was ready on time to pickup. The jerk chicken was seasoned well. Their fries were good too. Staff could communicate a little better while giving you the order as I thought everything was within one tray but fries were in a different container which I found out later but they called me and I was in the parking lot and got them and the cashier apologized. The dining room has limited space so I also recommend take-out. The Ribs and Brisket was smoked well and very tasty. I specifically liked their Corned beef. Overall great halal food. Definitely recommend them

Sandwiches and fries were great.. their McDonald fries did taste exactly like McDonald’s style.. I tried ribs the first time but it’s probably not my thing.. Wings meat was dry so I didn’t enjoy..

Fantastic experience! We made the trip all the way from Caledon and it was worth it! Don’t expect to walk-in and be amazed by the atmosphere, just let the food do the talking. The best smoked meat experience I’ve ever had! We ordered Sample Platter 3 with fries and Mac and cheese, Brisket, Brisket sandwich (the Montreal sandwich was sold out) and 1/4 chicken. The platter was perfect amount of meat for 3 people, the meats were juicy, soft, falling off the bone and succulent. I had read a lot of people saying it’s overpriced but in my opinion, it’s worth every dollar! We were also invited by the owner to see the smokers at the back which added to our experience - he told us his story and how everything works at the smokehouse, he was warm and very welcoming. We had booked a table for Sunday afternoon, I would recommend booking a table as I can imagine it to be busy during peak times. Definitely recommend Northern Smokes and will visit again!

I had heard about “Norhern Smokes” barbecue 🍖 restaurant during COVID but due to all restrictions couldn’t make it! Today had the pleasure of finally visiting in person & dine in. Firstly, the wait was well worth it! Secondly, come to the main agenda the food 🥘, as suggested by the lady at counter to go with “Brisket Plate” 1/2 lb smoked brisket plus any 2 sides. Looking forward to visit again in near future to try other items in the menu!

After reading about this place online somewhere, we just had to try it out! So this past weekend, we drove all the way from Kitchener to do that. Believe me when I say that it was well worth the drive and I’d go even further to try it again! My wife & I arrived at about 7:30 pm, expecting the supper rush hour to be over. We were wrong. The place was packed with individuals and families enjoying themselves and we were lucky to snag the only table for two left. We tried the 8 oz smoked brisket with a mac & cheese side, a quarter jerk chicken with a coleslaw side, and managed to get the last half pound of burnt ends. All of it was unbelievably delicious! How we wished that our stomachs were bigger! We were just drooling every time we saw a delicious platter of smoked meat go by to someone’s table! The owner, Imran Ali, is one of the friendliest, most gracious, and humblest restaurant owners you’ll ever meet. We just can’t say enough good things about this place and will definitely be going there again to try some of their other offerings. Highly recommended and so worth the trip, even if you have to travel an hour or two to get there! And be sure to go hungry!

Went for dinner at 6:30pm. I made a reservation and pre-ordered the meals. If you don't pre-order, it can take up to 45 mins before the meal is ready to serve. We had the 1lb Beef Rib plate, which comes with 2 sides. We chose cornbread, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw as sides. The food was fantastic. The ribs were most, the cornbread was soft and juicy, the potato with gravy was tasty, and the coleslaw was the perfect amount. I will be back to try the brisket poutine and chicken. Very delicious food.

We were lucky to go on a weekend and tried their Montreal style brisket. It was delicious! Their mac and cheese are really good too! The food takes 40 mins on a busy day and the taste is superb! Highly recommended

It was interesting trying a halal smoked meats joint and I was very impressed; everything was so flavourful and smokey and tasty. You can taste the quality in it, which explains why this place was very expensive, but the portions were great too. Dine in on a Tuesday evening was just fine.

Got the family platter! Definitely order ahead so because it does take time to get the order out. Everything was so hot and fresh and really delicious!

Great Joint. Always enjoyed the food here. Got the platter this time around and the food quantity and quality were good. Ribs, Tri tip, Brisket etc. Def try the cornbread as the side. Just wish they had more space for dine in.

Found their food bit over priced .. The price does not justify the quantity or portion of food. Taste was Okay, Food Presentation was nice 👍 I hope they will work on pricing of their menu . They don’t serve proper plates just paper plates which does not look nice especially when you are dining out with your friends or family. Also they can do something to improve over all restaurant ambiance to make it vibrant and lively.

Really awesome smoked meat joint. Always wanted to try it and finally was in the neighborhood and hit them up! It is highly advisable to order ahead of time through their website as they sell out pretty fast. I think i booked my pickup order on a Saturday at 1 or so for pickup at 3:45 ( no choice) The pulled smoked brisket sandwich is juicy and tasty, not overly saucy. Who would want crazy sauce to cover the smoke taste anyways?! For those with more of an appetite then you can buy smoked meats or wings by the pound! The atmosphere is a mixture of sports bar and local pub with really cool and whacky stuff affixed to the walls, including a small Shrine to the NBA Champions the Toronto Raptors! No wifi provided, they encourage face to face communication! 😂 Their location is in a small plaza so parking directly infront of the store is a little challenge, however there's more parking at the back of the plaza

Amazing customer service. First time trying this restaurant and ordered ahead for pickup. Ordered the pulled brisket sandwich which was amazing and tasty. They smoky flavor was awesome and their in house sauce on the brisket left me wanting more. Definitely going back to try more items on their menu. Do order ahead as there was a lineup to pickup orders. Highly recommend 👌 restaurant.

Flavorful and juicy smoked meats and wings at a reasonable price point. We ordered 2 pounds of wings in 4 flavors and the meat lovers platter. The brisket in particular was juicy and tender, falling apart on the fork. The wings had a delicious smoky taste, with assorted sauces to dip.

Review for Dine in only I took my family for lunch and ordered at 2:30 pm and Its 3:12 pm after full 41 min I am being served 4 orders, out of which 3 are sandwiches. Food as always is great but this is the last time I will dine in here or recommend dine in to others and I think it’s partly my fault perhaps it’s more suited for take out.

Really loved the food. The portions were also generous. This will be now my go to halal BBQ place. Suggest order in advance or allocate wait time till the food is prepared. From the look of the crowd it seems the place is pretty popular and gets a lots of orders. Order the platter in which the yummiest item was pulled brisket and rib rack. The jerk Chicken was good too. Kids also loved it

Unfortunately I heard so many good things about this restaurant but my experience was bad and food was bland almost no taste. Your Mac & cheese was so dry looks Iike was left in the hotbox all day. After paying around $50 I thought the meat would be juicy and delicious yet it was cold and clearly wasn't fresh! Don't think I will be going back

Best quality meat I've ever had in my life! I'd rate their Menu in my top 5 places around the world! Not just in Toronto. And I'm not a big meat eater. Their Brisket is out of this world! The short ribs were also super delicious. I highly recommend their Brisket, it melts in your mouth! It's slowly cooked for 12 hrs in a big smoker. I really hope they open a second branch with more seats. Great customer service as well. The food takes 40-45 mins to arrive on a busy day and it's totally worth it!

Solid smoked BBQ! Pretty surprising considering their location, so make sure to give these guys a try! Had the Beef Back Ribs and Brisket Platters with 4 sides. The beef back ribs were absolutely on point and the jalapeno cornbread was so sweet and moist. Brisket was juicy and had really good bark and smoke ring. Well done!

Really liked it, serving size and taste was on point. I would recommend people to stick to beef and avoid chicken, smoked chicken doesn’t taste as good in my opinion.. Also i noticed that some people had complaint about the prices, may be they dont know briskets are actually pretty expensive.. i had briskets from houston texas this january and it was $30 USD a lb.. northeren smokes is less expansive and equally good.

Got the sample platter #2 - really good and tender meat! Brisket was my fave. For sides, we got the beans and mac and cheese. The beans were on the sweeter side, but I still really liked it. I also liked their barbecue sauce - very balanced in taste.

Great little place. Beef short ribs were amazing. Brisket as well. Jerk chicken sandwich was really good but didn't jump out as very 'jerk' to me. However, the chicken itself was perfect. Definitely going back to try some of the other options. Staff was great and seemed very helpful and accommodating.

These guys literally have the best halal meat in the GTA. The beautiful glaze of the smokey short ribs with juices dripping in the plate just fills the mouth with water. The pulled brisket sandwich is another item on the menu that you cannot miss. Their signature sauce is something to drown in while the juices of that tender brisket showers you with the 5 star flavors your mouth will ever experience. A must go and yes I've been there a gazillion imes.

Tried this bbq spot for the first time and it was excellent. I had the side rib with two sides. The rib was so tender and juicy it would fall apart and almost melt. So delicious. Sides were a mashed potato and creamy coleslaw. Mashed was very nice, had chunks of real potatoes not the powdered store junk. The slaw was a bit too creamy for me. But it was still very tasty. Good portion size. Great food I will return.

Amazing smoked short ribs and back ribs. Falling off the bone, full of flavor, didn't even use the sauce - didn't want to ruin the experience. You can see on the pic 1 lb of back ribs and 1 lb of short ribs. The short rib has a huge amount of brisket-like meat but full of juice. The back ribs have less meat but the rib-like flavor is even more intense. Looking at the other reviews...you don't come here for sides or sandwiches. These folks know how to BBQ/smoke ribs and possibly tri-tip and smoked brisket which I will try next time. I didn't have a place in my stomach for anything beyond juicy ribs tbh.

Northern smokes had delicious food that’s definitely worth trying. I came with my friends and ordered the Family Platter 2. There was a wide array of meats, from ribs to various grilled meats. The family platter 2 is for 10-12 people, however if you know you’re a big eater or you’re quite hungry it would be good for 8-10 people. I really liked the brisket and would say that it’s the best part of the platter. The quantity is a little less for those who want to eat more. I also feel that the ribs didn’t have a lot of meat on it. Others have recommended the the mac and cheese with the beef brisket. This place is decent value for money.

The food was delicious and very reasonable prices. The service was slow and the cutlery was not perfectly clean, the staff were very friendly though. I will definitely come back.

Not much photos of the food as foods were long gone before I could even think about pictures. Perfectly cooked meat, with yummy bBq sauce and sides. Everything was delicious except the chicken. Great service and clean restaurant. Plenty of seating capacity and we liked everything about the restaurant. My second time trying the food and always the BEST!

Must try for a BBQ, smoked meat and deli food. Go for the smoked meat section of the menu and order. Burgers are good too but if you are going to smoked meat, skip the burgers. You won't regret it. Appetizers are good too.

We decided to have our Mother's Day lunch here. Great place for everything, BBQ, especially if you like ribs, short ribs, brisket, etc. We ordered the sample platter 2, which consists of beef brisket, pulled beef, back ribs, 4 slices of 🍞 and BBQ sauce. It comes with a choice of 2 sides. We got macaroni and cheese 🧀 and mashed potatoes. The meat was very well cooked and delicious. My favorite was the pulled pork. The brisket was yummy, and so were the back ribs. The restaurant is clean, and the service is prompt and friendly. The ambiance is lovely if you like the sports bar kind of vibe. It wasn't crowded. We made reservations but the restaurant wasn't busy. Most folks did take out. If you are into ribs and BBQ, then this place is a must.

We recently had the pleasure of ordering food from Northern Smokes, and I must say, the food was absolutely phenomenal! We ordered a family platter 1 that came with brisket, a rack of ribs, chicken legs, bread, 1 sauce, and 4 sides. The brisket, ribs, and chicken were cooked to perfection, and the flavors were incredibly rich and flavorful. Each bite was a true delight to savor. However, the only downside was that the entire meal was served with just one barbecue sauce, which unfortunately was not enough for 6 to 8 people. It was an embarrassment, though. Cons Mac and cheese were super dry and were not creamy at all. Mashed potatoes were okay and could have been better with more gravy. Maple beans and coleslaw were good. Nonetheless, I highly recommend trying their delicious dishes! The quality of the meat was exceptional. Overall, Northern Smokes is a must-visit for any BBQ lover looking for some of the best meats in town

My first time here and all I have to say is WOW. Awesome food. I have never eaten meat that just melts in your mouth like butter, seasoned to perfection, the best by far. Had the “all meat sampler plate” and jalapeño corn bread which was also amazing. This is a must try restaurant… I will definitely be returning…. The owners and staff are really friendly, place is clean. Great food, great service.

Pulled Brisket Sandwich, Apple Chipotle Brisket Sandwich, Jerk Chicken Sandwich, Poutine and Beef Back Ribs

Had the Pulled Brisket Sandwich and Quarter lb Jr. Burger. Burger was average at best, nothing special, I'd recommend not ordering this at all. Pulled Brisket Sandwich was really tasty. Only downside is the portions are really small for what you are paying for.

Northern Smokes has set a new standard for dining in the North! The food is not only delicious but also presented with such elegance. Every dish tells a story of skillful preparation and a passion for culinary perfection. Five stars without a doubt!
