Inspiration from the castle and the university.... a place which is a little bit underrated because of the Marktplatz...

This square is outshined by the Marketplace. It is as charming and beautiful as all other places in Heidelberg but much quieter. It is surrounded by historical houses, restaurants and cafes.

I LOVE Heidelberg, such a beautiful area, I love walking so many things to do and see.

We chose to walk about town rather than see the castle since Google Maps did a decent job of seeing the castle.

A nice square with beautiful buildings. It is a bit crowded you can drink your coffee, your food and your dessert and you will also see the castle..

A good place when you can do ice skating for 10 euros. We were unlucky, and the Christmas market in Heidelberg got closed right on the day we arrived, however, at least we could see a small part of it at this place :)

This is a remarkable castle and small town up the hill overlooking Heidelberg. The mainly ruined castle is interesting and the gardens pleasant. Leave plenty of time because there's more here than we expected. The funicular ride is interesting and the view from the top of the mountain well worth the trip.

Karlsplatz is such a wonderful place to view the Heidelberg Schloss. It always mesmerizing to see the palace in the evening when the lights are turned on❤😍. Especially when the sunset light falls in the palace and the view is extraordinary 🤩...

Planned on checking out the castle but didn’t get to it in time before closing. Walking around the castle was still worth the drive over here!

Beautiful architecture but lots of kitschy souvenir places. The church, the Heiliggeistkirche, disappointingly, was not open.
