Interesting museum with some nice art in the garden. You need to take an audio guide if you are not German speaking. The explanations inside are only in German 😬, but the audio guide is very good. Take your own headphones (old format) as two hours holding that machine could become hard for some muscles.

I and my family were lucky to have visited the Imperial Palace (Kaiserpflaz) at Goslar, a UNESCO World Heritage, before we left Germany (that was long ago, but my memory of this wonderful place remains). From Hannover we took a regular train to Goslar main station for about an hour. The Goslar old town (Altestadt) is about as old as ten centuries. The palace is a museum exhibiting old historical paintings and artefacts. We came in winter, so it was chilly, but from here we still caught the bus to take a short visit to the ski resort in nearby university town Clausthal-Zellerfeld.

The tower has around 250 more or less of stairs, and on each stairs has been written historical names that related to the town itself (That is what I understood at least). From the top of the tower, you can get a great view of the town itself. It was beautiful experience. Worth to try and it cost only 2 euros to enter the tower.

Beautiful palace. Unfortunately we didn't have time to see inside. Still it's worth going if you are visiting Goslar. The palace is near to the city centre in walkable distance. There are lot of parking options nearby as well.

Inside this Imperial Palace you'll find ancient relics dating back to 1040 when it was built, along with many interesting historical facts in the lower level of the Palace. On the second level, there's a great hall that has been painted in beautiful murals describing different parts of German history. All of the information is written in German, but there are audio guides that are available in many different languages, including English, Spanish, French and Russian to name a few. It's definitely worth a visit while you're in this incredible, quaint town!

Welcoming and friendly front desk. Interesting collection illustrating Goslar's "golden times." I must say the English audio guide is one of the best audioguides I've encountered so far. It made the collection come alive!

Impressive Imperial Palace. The original building is from the beginning of the 11th century, in the 19th century there was a significant reconstruction. Inside you can see (among others) imperial throne from church of St. Simon and St. Judas (11th century), two-storey chapel with buried heart of Henry the 3rd, imperial hall with paintings of events of German history (19th century) or very interesting lapidarium. Audioguide in several languages.

It's an old building in typical German style, containing walls that took 18 years to paint. The pictures show famous people over a period of years. The building is well put together with a mixture of arched and flat roofs.
