I travelled with my friends here and its really economical for students like me without compromising on quality of rooms, hygiene and location. Staff was really nice and ready to help at all time. 24x7 check-in is also helpful.

Spacious and clean, good wifi and friendly staff. Not super close to the city centre, but it wasn’t a big deal for me. A big no was the kitchen though. Very dirty and absolutely not equipped. There’s not even a cup, a dish or a bowl. Just a couple of pans. Also the fact that you have to ask for a key every time you wanna use it it’s quite annoying. Maybe they wanna push you to buy the breakfast instead…? If they would fix this, everything would be absolutely perfect.

If it were possible to give no star at all, it would’ve represented my discontentment best. The rooms were not cleaned at all: many stains remained on the cloths. Only two receptionists were kind to us. The two others were aggressive. I just asked for a refund or a discount but one of these two receptionists were being rude for no reason while I was asking in a calm and nice way. Moreover, the hotel isn’t soundproofed at all! If you want to get a nice and noiseless sleep, just shouldn’t book this one.

!!! MํARKETING SCAM !!! YOU WILL NEED TO PAY EXTRA. Bed linen is 3.5 EURO and towels are 1.5 EURO. They make it look cheap when you book but you have to pay more. They write in tiny letter that you need to pay for the bed sheet where you cannot see it and didn't say how much it cost. The worst part is "Bad service staff" They didn't talk about bed sheets when I was check-in. When I ask they answer with the bad attitude. The room and corridor is also smell bad and dirty. The room doesn't sound proof very well, you can hear what people are doing on the street.

I wouldn’t recommend staying in this hostel. The kitchen was awful. One electric cooktop with two elements for people use however one didn’t work at all. They didn’t provided any cookware, cook utensils, plates, bowels and barely any washing up items. The room was fine, very hot at night in August and the noise from the street was very loud so it was hard to keep the window open overnight. The beds and pillows were not comfortable. The only positive about this hostel was the location. It’s close to some lovely parks and it’s very easy to get into the main part of the city from the hostel.

The hotel itself is so nice and clean and it is in a nice place and close to the station and from the centre of the city. But some workers in the hotel will let you want to rate it with only 1 star! Especially that one who is so rude and has a loud voice with a shi**y attitude! I am sure that I will visit Stuttgart again, but I am not sure if I will deal with this hotel again.

Absolutely bad service. People are noisy at night, they didn't give us a sleep. Hostel workers didn't care about it. Rooms are also dirty, beds and mattresses are so uncomfortable. Stay away from this hostel!

Room in the basement, small windows that can barely be opened. You need to make your own bed. Corridor smelled like somebody was deep frying for hours. Location is in the worst neighborhood of Stuttgart but still central and well connected. The bed was okay and the stay was cheap.

This hostel is very affordable. The cleaning ladies do a good job keeping the loby and sleeping rooms clean. I have had a couple nights of really good sleep. Not too far from the main train station. Also, Strassenbahn stop just on the corner. Staff is very helpful.

The rooms are very comfortable, cozy and clean. The staff are very nice and helpful, a very good choice for lodging. Also the breakfast is buffet and offer a great variety of food

One of the best hostels I've been in! Very reasonable prices for very nice looking rooms. Helpful stuff. 24 hours reception with bar - pizza , beer... I love this place!

a&o is a perfect hostel any one could dream of, well maintained, clean, and also offers buffet breakfast at a reasonable price which includes good number of varieties. they have a lounge where you can charge/work on your laptop, have coffee even after you checking-out. the internet speed was decent 25-30Mbps. you can store your luggage after your checkout either with the reception (if you have anything valuable) or some common luggage facility. i remember seeing a paid locker too, but not sure how does it operates. overall it was a good experience. its better you book hostel from their own website, its cheaper by 50%. but they might have hostels in limited number of locations

Loved the whole stay! We were here with a group of 8 for 6 nights, in a really nice 8 bed room. Room was clean and tidy, sheets were clean, beds really nice and plenty of charging points for phones. We loved the room, it was almost like in a hotel. The people working at the hostel/reception/bar were super helpful and always in a good mood. And they speak good english 👍I recommend this place, it's really good!

We stayed at a&o Hostel Stuttgart City for three nights and we liked it. The rooms were nice and clean, with comfortable beds and private bathrooms. The lobby was great, with a bar, a pool table, and a kids’ corner. The breakfast was ok, with a variety of choices, but nothing too special. The only drawbacks was the shared kitchen, which was too small and poorly equipped for the number of guests, and the parking, which was not cheap (15 euros per day). a good option for budget travelers who want to be close to the main station and the city center.

This is not a hostel. It's just a very low cost and poorly ran hotel. The atmosphere is pretty shady full of people that seemed like they moved in, so don't expect any hostel vibe out of it. Carpets smell terrible so the whole place is uncomfortable to be around. Rooms are noisy so you can hear people even in other rooms. There is no power near the beds, just USB connectors that have been through a lot, so mine didn't even work. Staff is pretty rude and unhelpful. This place is so bad I just booked a room somewhere else and left.

Rooms are very clean and every morning there is someone cleaning the communal area in reception. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Even when we had an issue they were quick to rectify it. The location is only one or two train stops from the shopping centres and is easy to get to other places. They have lots of games etc for youngsters and the breakfast is simple but does the job. The pancake machines definitely went down a hit. Would definitely stay here again.

Price and location are ok. Place is very modern. We got a quadruple room that cost 65 Eur, even though it was only 2 of us. Only toiletries are shower gel, liquid hand soap, and bath towels (which smelled weird, so we request a change everyday). There are snacks and coffee. Getting breakfast on nearby cafes is better and cheaper. It is good for people who travel and spend most of the time outside. Also good for travellers who can only speak English. This is our go-to hostel when traveling around Europe.

The Perfect Backpackers hostel! Friendly staff and cleanest rooms with best room service. Totally had a great time staying there for 5 nights. THE BEST!!

  • 1/5 Atul A. 1 year ago on Google
Clean rooms for the price we paid and all, but the window is broken (as confirmed by the reception guy too) and not closing. Its late in the night and I just can't sleep because of cold. (2 degree outside). The reception mentioned that they can't do anything. I hope the administration takes the necessary steps.

This place was so welcoming! Super clean! Provided towels which is always a bonus when backpacking to have a new fresh towel. Complimentary drink on the way out! Right next to tram station. I would absolutely stay here again!!

Very welcoming staff (lady black hair to an upper ban, gold glasses) I assume she is the general manager. She was very nice and her service was great! Thank you for giving me the option to stay in a female dorm.

Location is great and very convenient to get to downtown, 3 min ride, U-Bahn is only a 2 min walk. Big rooms, great wi-fi. Staff is very responsive and helpful. It's a busy place, can get a bit loud but also very fun. Would come here again!

Had a great time! Beds are super comfortable, the hostel is sparkling clean, people were nothing but friendly and helpful and sweet! Great facilities (the kitchen could use a little work). Glad I'm coming back in a few weeks for some wholesome sleep :)

The room is cleans and decent. The location is amazing, walking distance away from bahn station. Unfortunately, our room can hear a party going on right outside our room, the music is extremely loud and we can hear it clearly. We were unable to sleep until the morning when the party ended. I hope the management can improve the window sounproof system.

Generally nice. Well furnished and kind staff. We booked a whole room for a group of 5 - rooms house 8. Our last night someone was allocated into our room which wasn't what we asked for. Otherwise all good

Great place in terms of value for money. Beds are a bit too uncomfortable & if you’re staying for a few nights, you might end up with back pain ! Worst experience was with one of the staff at the reception, he’s always so rude and very disrespectful 👎 A&O must let go such employees who treat guests like this. (Not talking about all the staff here)

  • 3/5 Markus L. 7 months ago on Google
Good cost/value ratio for a short stay. Good location with nearby train station. Some free parking lots nearby. However, the family was a bit disappointed about the view and the room, especially the mattresses were really bad.

It's a good place, clean and the reception is really kind. But the atmosphere wasn't very cheerful. I think it's better for workers than for travelers.

KITCHEN is absolutely pathetic. And you have to ask the staff for a special key each time you want to use it. They tell you that you have to use a brown paper bag but there’s none provided. There’s also no napkins or paper towels to clean up after yourself with. And the bathroom near the kitchen is also locked for some reason LOCKERS. In our 8 bed room. Only one locker worked properly the rest were all bent out of shape so you needed a chain or a huge lock to make it work. Other than that it’s a well organized and MASSIVE hostel. It’s in a decent location for the city but it’s quite far from the Cannstatter volkfest

We stayed one night, we got a full 4 person room for €100. It was clean and spacious, though the bed was stiff and pillows were a flat and uncomfortable. We paid around €7 for the breakfast buffet. It was supposed to end at 11:00 and as we entered the buffet at 10:20, there was nothing left but cereal leftovers and jam, no eggs, no cheese, no bread, no fruit, no meat, no hotcakes or anything left. Customer support is responsive, the lady in the buffet and the guy in the front desk had a comprehensive response to our complaints and tried to fix things somehow, but customer service is not very good. During our two days, the front desk was unattended multiple times. It was hard finding someone who worked in the hotel that could help us out with anything.

As a low budget place; all in all really ok...much bigger than small backpackers but with that flair. All kinds of people; from business to backpack travellers frequent this place.

Room is clean and location is good. Beds are some of the most uncomfortable I've ever felt, there is nothing left to cushion above the springs. Not sure if this is a common situation or a fluke but hoping we can at least get a night's sleep

Came to this hotel twice: First time: the room was so cold, it took a while to get warm (first night I used 2 blankets). Second time: no issues with the heating but the issue is the sound isolation is poor. I could easily hear the snooring from the other room next to me, add to that everything is going on in the hallway. The price is cheap, the rooms are spacious and clean. The U-Bahn Station is few metres away.

Overall pleasent staying experience. However, They charged me extra around 4 Euro for bed linen! Why? this is a basic amenity that every hotels should provide. At least this detail should be mentioned while online booking.

i was honestly bit sceptical on coming here but overall my stay was good. pros: economical someone is almost always at the reception location is good almost near to HBH checkout is very easy wifi download speed is very good cons: there is only one kitchen which was not a problem for me since it was ususally free bewerages are very expensive here e.g 2,7 euro for coffee kitchen is not well equiped and the utensils are old you might want to bring your own utensils for cooking wifi upload is extremely slow it takes minutes to upload a small document

From booking to check in and check out was smooth. It's totally a hassle free stay. It's accessible from Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof. The Straße Bahn is just 2minutes walk. The room was clean, accommodating staffs. I really like their mini bar beside the reception area.

Cheap and ok. You get what you pay for. We had a family room with a double bed and 2 bunk beds, one toilet and one small bathroom (unfortunately forgot to make pictures). A big downside though, in the nights on the weekend people were super loud, kept us awake and woke us up even after me knocking on their doors trying to talk to them.

Very bad experience in this hostel. Me and a friend stayed for two nights and both of us had extremely unpleasant nights running our trip to Stuttguart. Starting from the reception who were not able to find a booking in the system and made me wait 10 minutes. Moreover, my friend booked a female only room by paying EXTRA AMOUNT but the next morning she found a male in their room and the hostel staff were aware of that. My room was supposed to be a hostel room, however the next day an entire family was is my room with kids which was very uncomfortable. Also, I paid for the bed sheets but they were not clean. I suggest you to stay in another place if you can. The only good thing is that the hostel in near the train station.

  • 5/5 Kirtan D. 2 years ago on Google
A great experience this time. Receptionist gave me the towel, bed linen and pillow cover free of cost, which wasn't the case when i stayed in another countries' a&o Hostels. Hostel is around 1.5Km far from Stuttgart Central railway station. You can reach there by Metro. You have to go till Milchhof station and just opposite to the station you will find the hostel. I booked the bed in 6 dorm but when i reached there, there were 4 dorm beds and 2 beds attached (like a double bed). I didn't get this concept.

in just one word: embarassing. 500 euros for 2 nights in 3 without breakfast and at the check-in we received the bed-sheets because we had to prepare the beds by ourselves. Room was full of dust. Shower not working. No towels for everyone (had to ask for additional ones). Keep away from this place

Super Hotel. I had a great time here with my family. The hotel has very clean rooms, friendly service, great breakfast. Low price - very good quality. I recommend visiting the Porsche Museum Stuttgart. 100% satisfaction

This visit at the hostel I did not have that great of an experience. For one was the room really weird with a column directly where you would get into the bed, making it hard to get in and out - and I'm by no means a tall person. Then neither the light nor the charging ports at the bed worked which was a bit of a problem since I needed my phone for work. Maybe that was a fluke since I have been to this hostel before and I really liked the room. Apart from these problems, the room was clean and the staff was friendly.

This place is not worth the price as it is very expensive for a hostel. Specially when they’ve got a cleaning staff did not ever want to clean. To most people the place appeared clean because they would only change the linen. However, They would not clean the floor, shower, toilet. There was even blood sprayed of bathroom door that they wouldn’t clean. I actually ended up having to do it myself. The shower was also clogged with other people’s hair which is was unwilling to remove. Great location, two minutes walk to the rail across the street. Or you can walk to Milano shopping centre and the famous library. Or Schlossplatz. Restaurants are nearby. Lidil market is about a 15-20 min walk. Always VERY NOISY here. Offer many different games and activities in the lobby area. Also of the front desk staff minus the Mexican girl were all extremely nice.
