Located downtown and close to not only a movie theater, but musicals and restaurants and the running/biking trail along the Mohawk River. I give the convenient location 5 stars and the rooms and cleanliness 4 stars. Trail is less than a mile away if you want to walk there.

Great stay! Amazing breakfast staff and much to choose from breakfast bar. Front desk staff friendly, helpful and accommodating. Room was clean and comfortable. My only issue is the carpeting which I am not a fan of. Hotel’s location is ideal. Easy walk to cafes, restaurants, movie theater and train station. Downtown area has definitely been revitalized and the historical stockade section is an added attraction.

Staff was excellent, room was huge and clean, and breakfast was good in the morning. I didn't have any complaints and thought it was the perfect spot to walk all over the Schenectady downtown area. I was able to get help getting an early morning (think in 3 a.m.) taxi to the Albany airport from the front desk staff and it was cheaper than a Lyft or Uber would have been. I was glad the front desk staff was so knowledgeable. We only did breakfast 1 morning because we flew out so early but it was nice and the staff was friendly. OH! We are from Florida so cold weather was new for us but the rooms were always a comfortable temperature and so was the lobby and hallways. Showers were nice and hot too which was perfect to warm us up after walking in the cold.

Sweet was very nice. A little dated. But adequate for needs. Bed was amazing. Only problem is that we ran out of hot water. We are only there for the night so we didn't have an opportunity to tell the front desk but undoubtedly that will come to bear. Don't exactly know what happened.

The thermostat in my room did not work. It was a brisk 66 degrees and with the thermostat at 80 for 30 min still no heat. I asked for another room and then the young man working the desk got rude. I stayed here several years ago and it was good. Not sure what has happened.

I visited this location to help a woman staying here who is displaced from her home due to a fire. The front desk agent was friendly, but I was disappointed to learn that my client was not informed of the continental breakfast offered. She escaped her home and is living in limbo with limited funds. Having been made aware of a nice breakfast to begin her day would have meant the world to her. Shame on you.

I had booked a room, paid in advance, selected my room and requested a digital key. When I arrived I was told that room wasn't available. Huh? I thought that room was mine for the duration of my reservation. Even if I never showed up the room was paid for. That was the start of the bad experience. The third day there I requested that clean towels be delivered and the garbage emptied. The desk clerk said it would be done that day. It wasn't. I requested again the next morning and again was told it would be done. Later that afternoon I saw a cleaner down the hall from my room and asked her if she had been told my request. She hadn't been but she took care of it anyway. Thank you to her. When i requested a digital key for the room that gave me I was told it wasn't available because I didn't request one in advance. He was right- I didn't request one for that room but the one I reserved! No help whatsoever. The hallways were dirty, and garbage piled up near the elevator the entire 5 days I was there, the pile growing daily. The "free" breakfast was the same items you find in any 3 star hotel. The difference was it appeared what wasn't eaten one morning was served again the next day. One day the sausage was inedible because it had dried out and had the consistency of cardboard. All in all I recommend that this hotel be avoided at all cost.

I am relocating and spent 9 nights here over the past three weeks. It is a clean hotel with friendly staff. I read some of the one-star reviews. I cannot imagine they were reviewing the same hotel. I am re-booking again this week one for four more nights, and then my more permanent location will be ready.

When we checked in, I asked about pool and hot tub, yes we have both. I said ok we'll stay tonight, possibly 3 nights. The manager pressured us and said can't guarantee we'll have the room, so because of pool, we reserved 3 nights. NO pool or hot tub for ANY of the nights we stayed. SO dissapointed, I asked several times, got no response. Room was ok. Charged 200.00 a night, neighborhood not safe at night, Hampton Inn did not step up.

We stayed there because The Rivers Casino hotel was full. Excellent location for late night pizza and terrific bar across the street. We definitely stay there again.

I’ve been to this location several times when I’m in town. It’s always a pleasure to go there. The staff are friendly and helpful. My kids love their pool. I always see staff cleaning. The place is always kept clean. They were kind enough to cater to a request needed on my last visit. Will definitely visit again and recommend to others.

more like 'motel 6 by hilton'. the prices keep it from being a seedy drug motel but overall the property itself is quite dated and the pool is gnarly. good place to bring your kids that terrorize everything around them without having to feel guilty.

The hotel is beyond outdated! It is like walking into grandmas bedroom. All of the rooms temps are controlled by the hotel and do not go below 74° so when it is almost 80° outside it makes it nearly impossible to sleep let alone even be in the room as it ia humid. The humidity acts as a fun agent to stir up the smell from the horrifically old carpets, its like being trapped in a dirty bowling shoe! It became so unbearable and the entire hotel was conplaining. The poor front desk girl and maintenance man were overwhelmed with unhappy customers, all because ownership is too cheap to allow patrons to control their own room temps or even remotely update anything in the hotel. I will NEVER be staying here again!! Jennifer was incredibly sweet and really cares about her job! She got me switched over to the Double tree, WAY more worth it!

Pleasant staff, great location for our needs, close to restaurants and the room was clean. Would stay there again if we needed to be in that area!

This hotel is in a great location, walking distance to lots of restaurants. The staff are really friendly and went out of their way to help us. The rooms are very clean. The rooms were hot, but they are replacing the heating. I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is old and damp. Our worst experience was the interaction with the housing keeping manager Jackie. She came to knock on our door at 11:07am. She was rude, impolitely informed us that the check out is at 11am, despite our explanation of leaving in a few minutes. We arrived at front desk at 11:12am. When we asked to speak to the hotel manager, Jackie told us she’s the senior staff on site. She refused to give us her full name or contact information. We are regular travelers and have never been treated with such a disrespect for just 12 minutes over check out time. Jackie should not be in service industry, presenting a poor image for the Hilton brand!

We needed a place at like 2am after driving through torrential rain and our Airbnb fell through and the elderly gentleman hotel lobby clerk was so nice and helpful and got us right in (please give him a raise, he was working at 2 am on 5/1/23). The bed was so comfortable and and the breakfast was great. Thank you!

Very clean and welcoming! Friendly staff! I was passing by, stopped late at night with my four-legged puppy friend and we slept very well. Nobody bothered. Quiet, comfortable, calm and early in the morning waited for a very tasty breakfast. Five Stars! Highly recommend!

Very clean, nice staff... Hot breakfast... Free laundry facility (you purchase detergent) it's always been the opposite when I travel. Walking distance of nice restaurants and bars... No shopping in the area though. But if you have to be in Schenectady... This is a great spot to stay.

Friends invited me for a birthday celebration. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. Super friendly and helpful gals at the front desk. Thank you Carly and Pat.

Came for work trip- first room stank of illicit substance, second room stank of cigarettes (which would have set off asthma attacks in either) third room smelled clean but had a malfunctioning air conditioner and bathroom lights that strobes the entire time they were on (I elected to stay vs rolling the dice again). Location is great in down town Schenectady, noise outside as expected for the location, and the staff is wonderful in helping people through issues.

Clean comfortable rooms and beds. Nice breakfast. Unfortunately the pool is not in great shape and hot tub is not available. Staff was helpful, though some COVID restrictions were still in place and some services and products were unavailable

The room was fine. I called to have the air conditioning adjusted and that was done quickly and with friendly service. As it is now, there is no maid service unless requested so I had a lot of trash after a 2 night stay. The biggest problems were that there were not carts to take luggage to the room or to the car ever available and the room keys did not work well. I wasn't the only one with key problems. Many others had problems also. Location is good. Many restaurants very close.

Jennifer who answered my questions at this hotel through the phone was so helpful. I was originally going to come to Schenectady for the VIA aquarium and the innovation and science museum. I asked her about these two attractions and she was honest with me and told me that they were more centered for children. She helped me find other attractions that I was interested in in another area. Very helpful. Great customer service. 5 stars for handling customer questions and she was very genuine.

Meh… First room, AC did not work. They did move us without issue, but not before I took a shower and found hair in the shower 🤮. The flushing mechanism of the toilet did not work in the 2nd room. Was extremely eroded. Had to manually close it to stop the water from running continuously. Ice machine on my floor had a milky, dirty layer of water on the bottom. Overall, not a place I would ever stay again.

Rooms are dated. Externally, Hotel is upgraded but once in the Rooms, you realize not a lot has been done to improve the Rooms since the Hotel was built. Thermostats in neither of two rooms appeared to work as one room was severely overheating while the other room had no Heat with outside temperatures in the low 20's. Bathroom Fixtures did not all work. Broken Flushing mechanism in one Room. Both Showers had issues from not diverting water to Shower in one room to a Shower head that was covered in Mold/Mildew in the other Room. Rooms are in need of Renovation.

Overall, I had a very comfortable experience. The beds, friendly staff, cleanliness, and breakfast were awesome! The front desk staff were super sweet and welcoming. Both the pool and the hot tub were useless. Pool was freezing and tub was broken.

The room was clean. Staff was mostly friendly. The location can not be beat! We were within walking distance of everything we wanted to do in town. The bed sheets did keep slipping off the corners.

It was a fun experience. I enjoyed the breakfast, loved the gym, and slept well in the comfortable bed. The neighbourhood is quiet and clean, and everything- food, clothes, etc.- is within walking distance of the hotel. It was such a delight.

I love this hotel & have stayed here several times. The rooms are clean & beds are extremely comfortable. There is some touch up painting that could be done here & there but you have to look hard to find all the imperfections. The breakfast buffet is great & included with your stay. I love the make your own waffle station that always has a choice of batter. I’ve tried the cinnamon one but like traditional buttermilk as well. I also enjoy the pastries, cereals & choice of other hot dishes. Staff is friendly & very helpful.
