They have the best ribs in town! I always take it to go, but the day we decided to dine in, I decided to order steak and it was delicious too!

I absolutely loved this place! The BBQ ribs are smoked and cooked over an open oven viewable to all guests. And the snails as an appetizer were amazing, especially being it was my first time trying it. You will not be disappointed. Great and cozy vibe for Americans. The BBQ plate is what I was I was initially sold on by friends and locals. Also, not outrageously pricey either.

It's absolutely one of the best steaks I've had anywhere. We were told about this place from a retired military buddy of mine. He told me it's one of the best hidden gems in Germany. Boy, was he right! We've been here several times over the last few yrs. I've NEVER had anything but a perfect meal. The setting is very quaint, low-key & cozy. The service is great & the food is just some of the best we've experienced throughout Germany & all of Europe for that matter. My goto here is The Perfect Steak meal. If your order it opt for the Homefries, not the regular steak fries. You'll thank me for it later.

This is the best steak I ever had and for a great cost.Coming from houston the steak is honestly not as good as here and I’ve been to expensive steak tasting and it did not beat this.The steak was juicy and tender and was fresh as well as the nice garlic butter and chives sauce!The food was very fulfilling and the salad was flavorful .The steak is also cooked on firewood in the restaurant which is really nice .And the atmosphere inside and outside is great with a lot of flowers outside !Great experience in Baumholder and I would definitely come here again!

If I could recommend you anything the ribs steak inside salad is what I would recommend that's the most delicious options in my opinion

Easy walk from the Lagerhof Inn on Baumholder base. The outdoor space is lovely!! So many flowers in the summer. The staff was very friendly and it made for a great first meal off-base after just moving here. We ordered the jägershnitzle and steak (which is cooked over an open fire). Both were cooked perfectly! The snails were yummy, too. If you're looking for a good restaurant to enjoy that is English-speaking friendly, this is your place!

Graet staff..warm and friendly. Reminds me of home. Oh and the food is pretty good too..lol. Get the steak!

The food was decent sized for the price. The restaurant itself was cute, quaint, and worth a visit if you're in Germany. Had the snails as an appetizer, not bad, had the consistency of calamari smothered in garlic butter.

Visiting my parents and I really wanted some schnitzel. This place did not disappoint! The schnitzel was delicious and we HIGHLY recommend the fried potatoes! I tried some steak from my moms order that was pure perfection. We are contemplating having it 2 nights in a row! Portion sizes are great we definitely recommend! If you’re in the Baumholder area check this place out 10/10 🙌🏾🔥

Second time visiting. Best Rib Joint that I've ate at so far. The prices are reasonable. Staff is friendly. I'll be returning. I highly recommend you stop in and dine.

I was stationed in Baumholder from 2003-2006 and this steak house is one of the best I've had ever. I have fond memories in this town and in this restaurant.

Stadtkrug offers amazing food and great customer service. The wonderful staff make dining there a pleasure. I highly recommend this establishment and look forward to coming back again.

Food is always good everytime I was there or ordered food. Even after I left and came back to visit, this is by far still one of my favorite spots. Great food and great atmosphere 👌.

The food was absolutely on point. They have a good selection of alcohol and I paid way less than I expected too. And the service was awesome.

Amazing food and service!!! Looooved every bite of the schnitzel with brown sauce. Super delicious peach tea! I wish I had a photo of my food but I ate it too fast. Lol

Definitely a great reason to visit Baumholder! Food and staff here are fantastic! Even when they were very busy, they still had fast service, they're friendly, speak English really well, and the restaurant is very clean with a home-like atmosphere. It feels comfortable coming to Stadt Krug and I'm always excited about the opportunity to eat at Stadt Krug! The food they serve is traditional German home cooking and German Barbecue, the steak I had was cooked to perfection, tender, and fresh. Those coming here from the US especially will be impressed!

Staff is friendly and the food is awesome. Sometimes it takes a bit longer till it is ready but it is worth the wait. I miss that pepper steak!

Great food as always! I only give it a 4 star instead of 5 as it is a little Americanized for a German restaurant. I know this is because of the population they serve but just putting it out there for newbies in the area. That being said, if you're needing a good steak, it is the best I've had in 2 years in Germany!

I only had the ribs....tough to chew and get off of the bone. Recommend chosing something else from the menu.

To be honest it's the ribs on the open flame for me..🥲😇. It's the closest thing I will have to american BBQ the season is just right and great to the bone. If you want BBQ this is the spot in Baumholder.

Seriously good goulash soup, side salad, T-bone steak, ribs, sirloin steaks… Been living in Baumholder for 2 weeks and have eaten here 5 times! The open fire adds the most delicious flavor to the food. The service is great too! Yes, a lot of Americans come here because of the Army Post; however, it still has a cool German vibe. I’ve lived elsewhere in Germany in the past and never had steaks and ribs as good as Stadtkrug! I give them 10 out of 5 stars!

Coworkers and I used to car pool to this location from 40 minutes away, as often as we could justify. The food here is so good.

The food was super delicious. And for the amount of food it was fair price.
