Overall quite a cold environment to have meal and a drink. They have small heaters which work for the tables right next to them. But everyone else is left cold. We had a family with kids sitting next to us, who jumped a the chance to change tables to sit at one near the small heaters. The food was good and the service was excellent. Overall good, but not relaxing experience.

Huge restaurant that served authentic German fare, though our friends in Berlin told us that it was a bit of a tourist trap. The staff were dressed traditionally and the space was airy. We had the best meal here out of all the restaurants we visited during our German leg. Beer was crisp and fresh tasting, food wasn’t too salty, and we loved that they excelled in both the pork knuckle and sausage. Apple strudel came with both custard and ice cream which was a double thumbs-up in my books. A worthy visit if you are in Berlin. Yum!!! Downside was that tips were expected for use of the loo, then again, it seemed that use of toilets were chargeable in Germany. Just found that making customers pay for toilets a bit strange.

Disappointing. Came based on the reviews and was expecting more. I ordered a monthly special of a roast beef loin, what arrived was a steak that was overcooked, mildly warm and dry which I didnt finish, the plus was a great fresh salad on the side. The service was hit and miss, one hit was the server who clattered into me, knocking my knife from my plate to the floor, who then didn't even bother to acknowledge it or pick it up. If the person who manages the seating and reservations is busy then you just stand there at the front door, no other member of staff will acknowledge you waiting. Very formulaic, go if you want a lot of beer and huge serves of food and thats all.

We wanted to sample some of their most popular dishes so we ordered the Goulash and Sausages platter. We shared them between the two of us and ate every bite! It was so good!! We got good beers, dishes and a classy dessert to complete our meal. The only part we didn’t like in the last was the overall service, even with a place not really crowded. We waited for a long time to get help, and even after saying that to a waiter, he said that it wasn’t his area, so he couldn’t serve us. The bill came to around £30 with a drink. Be prepared to queue though as it is very popular but well worth it!

This has to be one of those little gems you discover quite by accident. It is 100% an authentic Bavarian/German restaurant and bar. With live bands nightly, the most incredible beer, that has less CO2, and full of flavour. The food is all authentic, freshly cooked, and very well priced. The staff are beyond friendly, accommodating, and remember you. No one is ever standing around, it is a well-oiled machine. For parties above 2, I would recommend booking. You can walk in, and you may wait from 5 minutes to maybe 1 hour (without booking). I couldn't recommend this more, especially if you're in the Check Point Charlie locale. 2min walk from the Underground. Well worth any travelling and I will be going back here every visit to Berlin.
