We ordered 2 glasses of Pinot noir, she served us less than a full glass so she said not to worry, she’ll refill. She never did. We had to remind her and when the bill came they included the extra refilling. Of course we reclaimed and they change the bill deleting these last glasses. I don't normally make negative reviews but I feel that I absolutely need to share my experience with Quarre. First, let me share the good! Excellent staff and service, you can see they care about a nice dining experience. The ambiance is nice in the shadow of the Brandenburger Tor. Unfortunately, there were some serious issues that ruined our anniversary dinner. We began the evening by ordering a couple of cocktails to celebrate our night. She had the cognac which was great but I ordered Grey Goose and Soda. Unknown to me they charge separately for the spirit and separately for the mixer resulting in an over $23 euro charge! I wish they would have said something as I would have ordered something else like a nice glass of wine. Then I ordered the "Surf and Turf." This is not actually a surf and turf but rather a lobster soup with a single ravioli in the center and then a steak. The soup was so salty that it was inedible. I asked them to remake it. When it returned it was just as salty but I was so hungry by then I just ate it. It had been so long since we had ordered and my wife had already eaten her course. Again the staff was very apologetic and said "the chef agreed it was too salty." If this was true, why was the second one so salty? They kept returning saying the soup was better now but it surely wasn't but I did not argue because I didn't want to ruin our special night. They offered us a free desert in compensation but the creme brule arrived cold, it was at this time I discovered the extra charges of over $6 for each soda used in my cocktail. What a frustrating experience. I knew this was going to be an elegant dinner but I feel taken advantage of. Rather than complain and further ruin our anniversary I paid the bill and left. There are many great dining experiences in Berlin, I will go elsewhere when I am back in Germany.

Leider war es an diesem Tag auch recht kalt draußen und drinnen am Fenster nicht viel besser. Die Serviceskraft war nicht bei der Sache so dauerte es über zehn Minuten bevor ein Glas Wasser auf dem Tisch stand ,das Glas Wein nochmal halb so lang. Das Essen mit Vorspeise,Suppe, Hauptgang und Dessert war in Ordnung und gut. Also mindestens so wie man es für diese Kategorie erwartet. Ab dem Dessert kam dann ein anderer Kellner ,der weitaus ambitionierter und eine Fachkraft war ,dazu und löste die Erste wohl ab. Fazit dieses Besuches, es gibt bessere Erlebnisse. I would have given a 5 Star if everything would have been perfect. Unfortunately there were some mistakes which I couldn’t close my eyes on as coming from the iconic 5* Hotel like the Adlon. We were a party of 6 for lunch; the first round of cocktails was really good but there was an issue with the second round ; we assumed that they changed barkeeper as it was all sour as the mixture was not well balanced but without fuss they changed the drinks and brought new ones which were perfect. The starters were all excellent. For the main dishes 4 of us have chosen the surf n turf which were a bit salty but eatable. The desert was an absolutely no-go. I would recommend here to create your own so that one cannot make any comparison if you are not so sure of the talent of your pâtissier! The crème brûlée was cold inside and outside and the moelleux au chocolat was everything apart from moelleux and was quite hard. The service was not top-notched but for Berlin excellent. If I would recommend this place ? Yes but don’t compare with same level of restaurants / hotels in France or Dubai but for Berlin it was an excellent choice to have an agreeable Sunday lunch in this restaurant. I tried to book a table for birthday and requested table next to window. They said we can’t promise that table. We travel different cities each month and it’s first time I hear this comment so I cancelled booking. We had a great birthday lunch at Restaurant Sphere.

View 5/5. Amenities 5/5. Service 2/5. We went on a Monday around 1pm for drinks. 10min wait before they let us in even though there were a lot of empty tables and staff standing around in front of us. Only coffee and water from the non alcoholic selection. I took a cucumber gin lemonade, it was very average.

However dinner took nearly 3 hours and and there were only 4 of us… not sure where the issue was but it was painfully slow… this is 100% fixable, just needs the correct attention.
