Haben von dem Lokal aus der Sendung „mein Lokal, dein Lokal, der Profi kommt“ erfahren. Sonst hätten wir wahrscheinlich zu diesem Lokal, welches sich versteckt in einer Seitenstraße in einem Wohnhaus befindet, wahrscheinlich nie gefunden. Umso positiver waren die Erlebnisse. Empfangen wurden wir von Bianca, der überaus sympathischen Servicekraft, die das kleine Restaurant mit den sechs Tischen stets im Griff hatte, das Essen war genau wie in der Fernsehsendung auch liebevoll und mit besonderen Ideen angerichtet. Das hatte fast schon etwas von einem Event. Die von mir gewünschten Pommes zum Straußen Steak kamen in einem aufgebrochenen großen Straußenei auf Stroh mit einer selbst gezogenen Bratenjus, in die ich mich hätte versenken können. Der südafrikanische Bobotie kam in einer eckigen Keramikschale. Dazu hat alles hervorragend geschmeckt. Auch Wesley ließ sich nicht nehmen, nach dem Kochen noch nach den Gästen zu sehen und zu fragen, ob alles geschmeckt hat und mit Ihnen zu plaudern. Alles in allem ein sehr empfehlenswertes Lokal, welches es verdient, auf jeden Fall unterstützt zu werden. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

The Fat Bear is a small restaurant with its own character. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is very nice. The name is a bit confusing at first, as the food is considered African and therefore has little to do with a bear. Nevertheless, you will be positively surprised here, the portion sizes are huge and the taste is very good. There is a small deduction in the B grade for things such as the greeting from the house (butter served on a stone); unfortunately the butter was far too hard and therefore a bit difficult to eat. Or the curry, which according to the menu is served in white bread, which unfortunately wasn't the case. Still a clear recommendation!

Winterbach/Engelberg - inconspicuously located on the thoroughfare. With a view of the Schurwald. We've driven through it many times. This time we consciously looked for it. Birthday lunch for me and I'm happy we found the restaurant. Small, cute, seasonal Christmas decoration. I estimate around 25 places. At lunchtime we had the undivided attention of the friendly waitress. We were able to have a nice chat. The boss also showed up and congratulated me. Also relaxed and friendly. During Advent there was a menu with two choices on every Sunday in Advent. Price performance very balanced. If you don't get enough here, you have two stomachs. We will come back after the holidays and test the "normal" menu. Reservations in the evening are definitely recommended.

Were here for the first time on January 15, 2024. Very friendly, even when making a reservation by phone. The service was excellent. The kitchen is excellent. The quality of the food was very good. The prices of the drinks are moderate. The food was a bit upscale but absolutely justified. A special place that you wouldn't expect here at all.

Mega tasty food, good wines and attentive, friendly service. Very cozy atmosphere! The South African food was top 👌🏻!! Absolutely recommended, we will be back!💯

Were here for the first time, four of us for dinner. Great food, we had ostrich steak, prawns with spaghetti and the "trip to South Africa". Great service in a somewhat hidden restaurant. See you again soon!

Wir sind extra aus Istanbul gekommen und sind nicht enttäuscht worden . SUPER , das Essen war ein Augenweide und Gaumenschmaus . Qualität hervorragend. Jacobsmuscheln empfele ich . Preise sind zu günstlich für so eine gute Qualität. 🙏🏼👍🏼 Ambiente gemütlich und einladend. Service super aufmerksam und freundlich. Alles Top .

Sehr gute Küche, exotisch anders. Wer schwäbisch Hausmanskost erwartet wird hier nicht fündig. Alle Gerichte Schwäbisch - Afrikanisch angepasst, lasst euch überraschen! Sehr gut!

⭐Montags geöffnet, das große Plus ⭐Super nette Bewirtung ⭐Essen alleine hat 5 Sterne verdient ⭐Ambiente ist familiär und urgemütlich ⭐ein offenes Ohr für allen kleinen und großen Extras, egal ob beim Essen oder sei es ein fehlendes Verlängerungskabel für einen Beamer. Klasse und sehr zu empfehlen

Food was not warm and quite chewy. We recieved no bread even after asking multiple times; other tables complained about this as well! Cocktails given with a rubber straw, it was impossible to drink properly. The view was nice, though.

Wes is a wonderful host and his attention to detail will ensure you have a truly memorable experience in a beautiful, warm setting!!

Enjoyed having a South African restaurant with the same mood as back home, relaxed, friendly, clean, heartfelt and yummy!
